I can no longer silently watch the Kremlin bots spread disinformation about Ukraine and Donbas region in particular. It pisses me off.
As many of my long-time followers know, I am not only Ukrainian, but also originally from Donbas. I lived in Donetsk under the occupation of Russian proxies for 8 years and moved to free Ukraine only a few months ago, before Russia attacked us.
Russian bots are trying to sow doubt in the minds of people from all over the world. They are saying that Ukraine subjected to genocide the people of Donbas. This is the official Kremlin's agenda and a pretext for invading Ukraine, DON'T BELIEVE THIS LIE.
The only person who carried out the genocide of Ukrainians (including Donbas people) is Putin. Kremlin bots are saying that this issue is "very complex" and intricate. I'll try to prove to you that this is not true, describing the events from 2014 to 2022 step by step. This is for people who really want to understand what's going on in Ukraine.
This is a VERY LONG post.
In 2014 the Revolution of Dignity took place in Ukraine. People protested against the former president of Ukraine Yanukovych who was the agent of Kremlin, basically Putin's henchman. He bloked the Eurointegration of Ukraine, people were pissed off, because they wanted to move away from the imperialist Russia and get closer to Europe. Yanukovych tried to disperse peaceful at first protest by force, but met a strong resistance. Then Maidan massacre happened, over a hundred of protesters were shot.
Ukrainians rebelled against the crimes of Yanukovych and he had to flee the country. Of course, it was Russia he fled to.
Putin couldn't afford to lose the influence over Ukraine, so he created his sock puppet "republics" (DPR and LPR) on the territory of Donetsk and Luhansk regions of Ukraine. Basically, he invaded parts of Ukraine, starting the hybrid war. He also annexed Crimea and turned it into his military base.
Ukrainian army at that time was pretty much non-existing, extremely vulnerable. Because Yanukovych, being Putin's agent, did all in his power to destroy our military potential. Thus making it really easy for Russia to occupate our land. But still, Putin failed to fully execute his plans. He planned to turn the entire south-east of Ukraine into puppet republics, he got only some parts of the east instead. In the south, the people fought back and were able to defend their land from the separatists sponsored by Russia.
This was the beginning of a long war in eastern Ukraine. Russian propaganda presented the creation of the separatist "DPR and LPR" as the result of the persecution of the Russian-speaking population in Ukraine. In the east and south of Ukraine, the majority of the population indeed speaks Russian as their first language, 'tho everyone in Ukraine can speak and fully understand Ukrainian. But Kremlin's claims of discrimination and persecution of the Russian speakers in Ukraine are all completely false and fabricated. How's that, you ask?
The entire argument about aforementioned "persecution" is built on the basis of the "Language law" that establishes Ukrainian as the state language. Literally, that's it. Ukrainian is the official language in Ukraine, what a shocker, huh? There is absolutely no language regulation of any kind in everyday life. Ukrainians can speak to each other both in Russian and Ukrainian and don't even notice who speaks which language. Actually, many Ukrainians speak in "surzhyk" - mix of Russian and Ukrainian. Russia's accusations are simply ridiculous.
Eventually Russia moves even further from these ridiculous accusations and declares that Ukrainians are fascists because of the completely fake "discrimination" against Russian-speaking and ethnic Russians.
- You know, your regular fascists who VOTED for a JEWISH person, president Zelenskyy (he won with 73%). BTW, Zelenskyy speaks Russian in everyday life, so does half of our parliament.
- The only right-wing party in Ukraine doesn't even come close to 5% of votes, even pro-Russian parties get much more support, even though Ukraine has been at war with Russia for 8 years.
Now let's talk about those separatist "republics". This is how they function:
- Putin's terrorists who occupied my homeland Donbas place their military bases exclusively in residential areas, right among the houses. Terrorists fire from residential streets, so that if Ukrainian side would fire back, these shells will hit residential or public buildings and kill civilians.
- If there are not enough victims for Kremlin's propaganda, terrorists themselves fire on civilians or just stage it, then Russian media such as RT films it and presents as war crimes commited by Ukrainians.
I personally miraculously avoided death at least twice because of Putin's terrorists.
- In 2015 I used to live in the district of Donetsk called Bosse (Боссе). One morning I was woken up by the sound of artilery. I clearly heard the launch and then the landing of the projectile, which meant that the shot was fired from somewhere very close. On a busy morning, mortar projectiles landed on a bus stop, killing 8 civilians and injuring 13. You can find wiki page by googling "Обстріл зупинки «Донгірмаш» у Донецьку" I could've been on that bus stop or in the grocery store in front of it. I was lucky. Occupants at first claimed that it was Ukrainians responsible for the shelling, but quickly figured that positions of Ukrainian army was too far away to reach that place with mortars. They destroyed evidences (filled the funnels so it's impossible for the OSCE to investigate) and fabricated this insanely hilarious version: Ukrainian diversionists on a garbage truck (!) with a mortar inside of it were driving around the city and shooting. Everyone knows what really happened.
- The Volnovakha bus attack. Terrorists from "DPR" fired at a civilian bus heading to Volnovakha. 12 people dead, 18 injured. I was ON THE SAME DAMN YELLOW BUS to Volnovakha only earlier that morning. And I saw with my own eyes what was left of it few days after the event, I will never forget what I saw.
I can't even count how many times terrorists fired heavy artillery right across the street from my house.
And now, Putin says he wants to "free" Russian-speaking people of Ukraine. He wants to bring the same pain and suffering to the whole Ukraine as he already did with my once beatiful Donetsk.
He denies the very existence of the Ukrainian nation, the Ukrainian language, our history. He wants to wipe out all Ukrainians. Putin is the true fascist here.
It's Putin himself who reduces the number of Russian-speaking Ukrainians. I used to speak Russian for my whole life and switched to Ukrainian 5 months ago, because I can no longer speak the language of this fascist. And I am not the only one who made such choice.
Don't believe in Putin's lies and propaganda. Double-check everything you hear and read. Don't spread disinformation.
There is no complexity and grey area in this war. Russia attacked us first in 2014 and now for the second time, in 2022. Simply because we, Ukrainians, dare to exist.

I couldn’t do it anymore. I don’t wanna live in a fucking place where these assholes get away with everything. I’m just so tired of it all. I can’t live in a world where the Necdets win and the Işıks lose. I can’t.

@to-come-alive you saved me from doing a LONG review of Aşk 101. It is one of my favorite dizis of all time, but everything you said above I totally agree. I cannot say season 2 was perfect, but analysing by parts, there were a lot of beautiful stories inside the show that makes me applaud it with tears of joy. A good ending, that's what it was. Eda and Kerem's love story was SO beautiful, it was better than in season 1 and season 1 was perfect. Maybe my favorite part of this season was their story (while in season 1 was Işık and Sinan).
When you say that there was a lack of Sinan's sarcastic moments, I would include that there was a lack of the group's scheming plot. While in season 1 they wanted to romantically reunite their teachers Burcu and Kemal with lots of scheming that were funny to watch. In season 2, they tried to do this but Meriç Acemi kind of abandoned or forgot this plot that, in my view became lost in everything that happened.
Just to finish, I have to speak about the production. When it comes to production, season 2 is spectacular. If my favorite love story was Kerem and Eda, my favorite production moment was Elif's drowning in the piano. All that scene, from the beginning to end, was marvelous. It's one of those moments that makes me say with a proud voice that is one of my favorite dizis. There were lots of other scenes, but Elif's angst drowning and burning hand scene are my favorite. Photography on this show is 10/10, and photography is the part in every TV/Film production I'm always in love, it's my soft spot!
That's it, thank you!
Love 101 S2 | some thoughts
So I watched Love 101 S2 and liked it a lot, it was overall good although there were some things missing for me. But I love the series and the characters and I waited more than a year for s2 so I really can't complain. Abt the things I felt were missing or just bothered me I'm gonna list them but after I point out all the things I loved in S2.
Kerem. I loooved him this season. I remember thinking him last season was a little bit too predictable a character just fighting for any reason. And I didn't understand his problem with his father as well. But this season he was just too perfect. He was a great bf for Eda always supporting her and fighting for her dreams even more than herself. He was so cute and nice with everyone, so different from the Kerem from last season. And the amazing friend he was to Sinan. I was not expecting that Kerem was the one who was gonna be so important at Sinan's lowest. Best character in S2.
The couples. What can I do if I love romance?
Kemal and Burcu although they stumbled a little in the beginning with that break up which I didn't really understand, they were amazing afterwards and their chemistry was so overflowing. I'm glad they had their happy ending.
Osman and Elif, another surprise. Although I think they just put her character in the show to end the rumours abt him being gay (which is so sad, it would be amazing to see a gay character in a turkish series) I liked them, they were really cute together. I think their break up was the most believable one. It wasn't smth too dramatic or out of nowhere. She had to go, it was her dream. So the only thing he could do was supporting her through and through. Sweet 💓
I loved Kerem and Eda this season, they had so much screen time and they used so well. I wasn't expecting to like them that much since in S1 I felt their relationship to be a little rushed. They were a good REALLY GOOD surprise. Best couple this season 😍😍
And finally Sinan and Işık. I simply loved them in S1, they were perfect there and had all the reasons to be now. I liked them in S2 as well but I also have some thoughts upon them which I'll talk further on. But the romance was really good this season, didn't think this series would be so full of love this way.
Photography. There were so many beautiful shots and scenes. Production really put a lot of effort on it and the result was simply amazing.
Soundtrack. I didn't think s1's music was better. I loved all the songs in s2 and many are already on my playlist.
Now for the things I thought were missing this season:
Sinan needs treatment. URGENTLY!! He almost killed himself! And I don't think cuz he has a new house and future perspective his psychologic issues are over. What abt his problem with his family? I knew this wouldn't be solved but at least I thought he was gonna have some help. And he didn't even had his friends to support him during the years (except for ışık but they took a few years to reunite) so I was really expecting to see him get help cuz I think it's hard to believe that he was well when he was actually all by himself.
Where are all of Sinan's sarcastic and philosofical comments? It's not that there wasn't, it's just that I think they were really few.
Işık and Sinan were the highlights in S1. Their relationship were my favorite thing last season and they almost had no development during this one and they were the couple that ended together despite everything. Maybe I got too disappointed bc I just missed them and wanted to see more of them.
What about the inconsistencies in their adult phase? Who was in prison? And who was in the farm? Eda doesn't have children? How did the old couple's painting end up with eda? The house won't come down anymore? And what happened to everyhing adult ışık said in s1, that she never celebrated her birthdays and all? And adult eda blaming herself for smth that happened to them? I didn't even think they had enough reason to be apart for so long so WHY exactly did they?!
Where is Işık? In S1 they were always together and so united. But now they were more like the four: sinan, kerem, osman and eda + ışık sometimes. I just felt that ışık could be more present like in the school and all. And she wasn't there with them.
Things that bothered me:
Necdet went full on villain mode and became a total cliché character. In S1 he was just a bad principal and now he's scheming and planning to keep his position.
I don't think the reason for them not seeing each other all those years was believable. I mean, some of them not keeping touch? Ok. Or just for some time? Alright. But NONE of them talking to each other (except sinan and ışık of course)? And for so many years? I think it's a little too much. That wasn't enough reason bc they were everything for each other and letting each other go would be the hardest. So I don't think they would be so much time away from each other.
I think that's all. Maybe I was too hard on this season but don't get me wrong I REALLY liked it. It was amazing! It's just that I had all these expectations (I waited more than a year for this moment!) and thoughts going on my mind while watching and felt like putting it out. Thanks for reading this til the end.
If you have any opinion or you wanna talk abt it send me an ask. I would love to keep talking abt this show!

I had to reblog because everything you said I write below. It's almost like you were reading my thoughts, I truly think this week's episodes of Ada Masalı and Baht Oyunu were very good and satisfying about the lies. Although in Baht Oyunu's case Ada didn't reveal her secret to Bora, but what was shown was still worth it.
before i get to giffing this week’s episodes..
i normally don’t do write-ups for baht oyunu or ada masalı but i just had some thoughts that i really wanted out of my head. this got a bit out of hand and became longer than i intended oops 😅 and ofc, beware of spoilers!
#baht oyunu#ada masalı#ada masali#I was thinking about what to put on both of my reviews#and then I found this post#and then I decided to not post about Ada Masalı#*actually I don't post about Ada Masalı for weeks*#everything it says above it's my opinion too

7. Bölüm
OMG! For the first time I watched the fragman before watching the episode and I made a huge effort to not die this week of pure anxiety. All the photos of Ada and Rüzgar (ugh!!!) make me sick of just remembering (I'm writing this and at this exact moment I want to throw up). It makes me wonder if when I encounter Idris in another dizi in the future, if I'll hate him there only for all the fucked up memories of him being Rüzgar the trash guy.
Anyways, I tried to avoid this episode only because of all the Celal thing seeing Ada in the company. It was a tiny torture this week (until now there wasn't an anxiety bigger than the anxiety I felt for the arrival of the first episodes of Sen Çal Kapımı, I almost passed out waiting for them. I'm so dramatic!🤦), but I'm avoiding the anxiety beautifully by watching several other dizis per week. However, Baht Oyunu is SO good until now, it didn't disappoint me. I thought I would suffer for all this guilt Ada is feeling, but I don't know how to explain that it doesn't tire me their drama right now (maybe is the soundtrack? It has a very cheerful beat. Or maybe is totally my brain that doesn't recognize any error in it). If they keep doing this drama every week between Bora and Ada, then I'll be really disappointed.
The comedy of this dizi is sharp, they don't make mistakes, they do it very quickly and not in a tiring way. I like it. The romance also has to be exalted here (people say "exalted" in this phrasing? In my native language they do, so maybe I'm stupid enough to put it here without being sure). Bora is very sad about Ada's decision of quitting working with him, but technically Bora shouldn't be all that sad about his assistant resigning without an explanation. So I think we all see that Bora is giving in into his feelings for Ada and I'm so happy for it. It means that when the time comes and he has to confess his feelings, he'll confess without giving us so much headaches of waiting something basic as his confession (don't get me wrong Bora, I love you!).
Oh my, oh my! Ada daydreamed of her marrying Bora, exactly like the first teaser showed. I thought they wouldn't use that video anymore because, I don't know you, but I first thought Ada would be unrequitedly in love with her boss. I couldn't be SO wrong about it. Bora fell in love with her first and Ada followed right after him in a not so fast and soft way (I liked very much!!), that was satisfying for me. I have to confess that I hope of them entering in a fake-marriage a good while before the show is cancelled. I'll say again that fake-dating/fake-marriage is my ultimate trope and I can only hope for it. Ada passed 3 years of her life pretending she was married (or for her not so pretending, she really thought they were "in love" in a happy marriage with Rüzgar. People, she was in this stupid adventure with Rüzgar!!!). The writers created a very good show, Ada, Bora and their families are really great characters, but they sadly wasted a good trope with Rüzgar being the other half of it. However, apparently for Ada to divorce Rüzgar, he would be deported and I'm not slightly uneasy with that, he can flee away from Ada and this planet anytime soon (better late than never). But the writers see Rüzgar as an important character to be included for a good while, so this makes the possibility of Ada getting a divorce from Rüzgar as remote as possible (what a sad prospect!).
I think that's all for now!
PS: I'm so in love with Ali and Selin together, they're cute!
