A Spiderman who doesn't want to show his face because of privacy reasons. No one knows what he looks like or what his name is/if he is a Peter. No one knows from what universe he is. Not because of some big secret, just because he wants to be anonymous.
Oh to be a medieval thief stealing the kings crown and going onto an adventure that ends up bringing him his long lost daughter back, not knowing what Single-Use plastic is
Big fan of franchises that don't need to end with everyone being couple'd up and just being shipping culture.
Like, Rowling & Riordan didn't have ships for Dumbledore/Nico, so they just made them Gay. In many Fandoms, even the slightest side characters have official ships. Bad stuff. Don't.
Since most of my followers seems to be Non-German, I need to tell something here:
There is a little german village called Lützerath. It sits right above some coal, which a big company (RWE) says they need.
They say they need the cool since 10 years. The village, and some others around it, should move. Most of it already moved to other villages. The last official resident, and old farmer, left a few months before.
Activists occupy all what's left, also since around 10 years. They build treehouses and tunnels, basically lived there for YEARS.
The green party of the government told us, they are against the eviction and destruction, against RWE. The green party also voted for the destruction.
So they started the eviction this January, but of course it got really, really big - Yesterday there was a demonstration, they expected ~2.000 people, and 35.000 people arrived in the end. Still people sitting in the tunnels. People living in the treehouses, while the police also cuts the trees right besides them.
Well, with 35.000 activists, there were obviously some more aggressive people, but not as many as you would expect.
But there was LOTS of policy brutality. They used their truncheon (? Google says that's the right word), right onto peaceful protesters, also directly aimed towards their heads. At least one person has a life threating injury, multiple people with broken bones, and apparently the cops didn't even let them go to the doctors, blocking the way to their tents.
The official states police Twitter account tweeted about the eviction meanwhile, as if they were there to let people steal coal, not to make it peaceful.
So Germany started this year with lying politicans, police brutality and the state helping big cooperations destroying our environment.
If you want to know more, take a look at the Hashtag #Lützibleibt, there were also some international activists talking about it, Greta Thunberg was also there, ...
If you read that far, here are some memes about the shoving mud monk there (The video is completely worth watching):
velma and wednesday shows have proven to me that network executives cannot be trusted with our weird girls we need to take them back by force if neccessary
The first thing I notices was the Alarm clock Casita uses to tell the Family to Hurry Up.
Pretty obvious, right? Well, according to Wikipedia, the first documented alarm clock belonged to Plato (428-348 BC), and the first alarm clock like this ("American Alarm Clock") is from 1787, but they got way more popular during the industrial revolution (~1942).
The SECOND thing that i recognised was Camilos High Five.
Wizards of Waverly Place may tell you the High Five was invented/got popular in 1777, BUT according to the High Five Wikipedia Article, it may originated from the African-American low five, which has been part of their culture since the 1920s. According to the German Wikipedia Article for Colombia, it's entirely possible that the Madrigals are african-americans or their ancestors were.
Roughly translated it says:
"A Costeño is a person from the Caribbean coastal region of Colombia who is mostly of African descent. The Costeños are characterized as a happy and noisy people. This subculture is particularly pronounced in the areas around the cities of Cartagena, Barranquilla and Santa Marta. The foods common to this area, bananas, coconut, rice and fish, are characteristic of the Costeños. Their accent is recognized by the fact that the 's' at the end of the word is not pronounced and is suppressed when followed by a consonant (example: cohta instead of costa)."
This means that it's absolutely realistic that Camilo did the High five years before it got popular!
But when does the movie play then?
Well, according to the Fan-Wiki in the early 20th century, sometimes between 1910 and 1960, the chance being that Pedro died in the civil war between 1899 and 1902. The Wiki also mentions the colored photographs of the characters.
So, what do we learn from that?
Not only is Encanto surprisingly accurate with the timeline, you can also spend a lot of time reading Wikipedia Articles around alarm clocks instead of skipping right to the Fan-Wiki.
Due to my annual rewatch I finally need to say something I haven't read anywhere:
Bruno's Vision about the Dolores shows that he didn't see far enough. He also did this with the vision that Mirabel sees, because he broke up before he could see the whole thing, or the true ending.
With Mirabel, he first sees her breaking (or not breaking) Casita, then she's there with him 10yrs later and tells him to see more, so he sees the butterfly and the Isabela Hug.
With the vision for Dolores he probably saw her being sad while looking at Mariano (or "A guy"), and probably COULD have seen more, if he just waited.
And that may be true for more than just these two visions.
my hot topic cashier had big buttons that said “ask me about my fursona” and “submissive” on his lanyard but no name tag because thats just too personal i guess
