hello everyone! apologies for being so inactive as of late. theres been a lot of stuff happening irl for me lately, which has rlly stressed me out, and every time i saw all the requests in my inbox, i just felt so overwhelmed. im now feeling a little more up to the task of actually running my poll blogs tho, and will be posting more polls in just a bit!!

I have seen a lot of transmasc people (and sometimes also was the transmasc person) who when entering a male-dominated social field, especially when not great at socializing, tend to focus more on their own personal relationship to the masculine power associated with it then on blending into the ecosystem of the field, because they really kinda feel like outsider. reasoning: "sorawo is written as a character who is at odds with traditional society. she diverges from amatonormativity, she diverges from neurotypicality, and her eye allows her to quite literally see the world from a different point of view. while for her to be transfem is not as specifically supported by the text as the first two things i listed, for her to be transfem is a logical conclusion of her characterization of someone who has to put up with normal society while not entirely being a part of it. i would argue that she's specifically transfem and not transmasc because she doesn't make any indication that she's dysphoric from being a woman. if anything, her learning so much from toriko -- her i-haven't-read-volume-9-yet-so-idk-their-proper-relationship-status "partner" -- is reflective of my own lived experience as a trans woman learning from my wife."
