This morning the library board unanimously voted against offering trans inclusive healthcare. PLEASE SHARE THIS INFO. The library HATES bad press. Here are the names of the Board of Trustees. Zoos, even those that have research and conservation in their mission statement, exploit animals for entertainment. I'm saying this as someone who loved zoos as a child and who worked at a zoo library (specifically working on research related to injuries and deaths of zoo staff and visitors who came into contact with animals). Most of us see non-human animals as less important than human animals. We believe (for different reasons) that animals are here for us to use however we see fit - including for food, to perform, protect our homes, carry us or our stuff, keep us from being lonely, or to live in enclosures for us to observe. Let's be just a little less selfish with the other animals with whom we share this planet. #abolishzoos
