Idk if anyone else has pointed this out before but while just rewatching death cure for like the third time in this last year I noticed this for the first time.

After Newt dies and Brenda runs up and Thomas grabs the gun looking absolutely miserable heartbroken depressed whatever u wanna call it. But what I noticed that I hadn’t before is when Thomas first grabs the gun, Brenda actually starts holding her hands up? As if to… stop him? From what exactly?

And then when he goes to confront Ava too, and finds out he could’ve saved Newt but didn’t, it basically seems like he completely gives up. Like he doesn’t even care anymore because a cure doesn’t matter since Newt couldn’t get it. And even when Janson shows up (who we all know he hates) and literally points a gun in his face, he literally just stares at him as if he doesn’t even care.

What I’m getting at is, did Thomas legit briefly lose his will to live after Newt died ._.

Was Brenda holding her hands up because she thought Thomas was going to shoot himself and did Thomas not make a move against Janson because he was hoping he’d finally be put out of his misery ._.

It’s not newtmas but it’s also so newtmas bc wtf movie
