Do you do requests? If so, I have one on BNHA that I'm just /dying/ to read even though I just thought of it like two hours ago. Can I request (if you do them) a fic with f!reader x Bakugou? And the Reader is the shy/quiet/only-is-weird-with-close-friends type of gal? But then one day Kaminari takes one of her things that's really important to her or something by accident and the reader BLOWS her lid. She enters the class angry and pissed like no one has seen. Bakugou likes that sort ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
I'm afraid I won't be able to do any requests right now T-T. I have other projects I need to have my focus on.

Worth more than some perceive (Victorian!Todoroki X F!Reader) Part 3!
Tumblr media
Part 1 Here!         Part 2 Here!
~”You’ve got another one.” Your brother announced as he came into the back room, holding another white rose in his hands along with a card tied to it with the brown string.
~You stopped writing in your planner to first look at your brother and then at the rose. You got up.
~”I’ll go and put it in the vase, thank you.” You took the rose from him and carefully untied the string from the stem and threw it into a box on the table that had numerous pieces of the same type of string from the previous roses. It would be a waste of a perfectly good string if you threw them away.
~You went to put the rose into the vase, but then you realized that you should probably change the water in it as the other roses looked a bit whithered. You picked up the vase and brought it to the back to change the water.
~As you poured the water out, the old question resurfaced and you got curious. This has been going on for awhile, and at this point you’re not sure how you should be feeling about this anymore. Should you feel flattered or should you finally open your eyes and start to worry?
~You weren’t sure since you still don’t feel threatened or that you’re being watched, nor has William.
~”What do you make of this, William?” You questioned.
~”The roses? I’m honestly kind of vary of them, or at least the person leaving them.” He answered
~”I’m starting to doubt that these are not gifts of appreciation.”
~”Yeah, there must be a deeper meaning behind them.”
~You placed the roses in the freshly changed water and walked back out to put it back on the side table. Fixed the roses to look a bit nicer and then nodded in approval, ready to start yet another day.
~”But are you exactly worried?”
~”Not really since nothing else has happened yet, but I’m keeping my guard up. You can never be too careful.” You nodded at his response.
~”You’re right.” You agreed.
~Not long after you finished your sentence, a ding sounded through the air, signaling a customer has stepped into the boutique. You turned and immediately whatever worried thoughts you had previously washed away as you recognized the dual-hair-colored male. Seems like he has memorized the time you open the store, down to the minute.
~”Welcome back Todoroki!” You greeted Shoto.
~”How are you feeling this fine morning?” William joined your greeting. Then noticing he came alone this time. “Oh, roaming around alone today?”
~”I’m quite well, thank you. And yes. My butler has quite a lot of duties today, so I let him attend to them instead of coming here with me.” You both nodded in his direction. William nudged you on your arm.
~”Well, I’ll let you handle this one, I’ve got other work to do.” William called as he walked towards the backroom to finally start completing orders. You called him a quick goodbye and then turned to the other male in the room.
~”Well, how can I help you today? Last time you mentioned something about another commission?” You recalled his words from a week ago.
~”You are correct, so I’ll just get straight to the point.” You listened to what he had to say.
~”I would like for you to make a dress for my partner that will be attending the ball with me.” He said and your eyes widened from the request. Not only because he was ordering a dress without this partner of his, but also from the uncomfortable and unknown feeling growing in your chest.
~”I didn’t know you had a significant other.” You commented while trying to sound normal.
~”I don’t.” He said.
~”You don’t?” You lifted your eyebrow confused.
~”I’ll explain.” He breathed as though he was encouraging himself. “It might not seem like it at first glance, but the underlying purpose of this particular ball is for nobles to try and get their children to talk to other nobles' children, in hopes that the pair would get married.” He explained.
~”As the son of the steam train factory owner and founder, avoiding these balls are not an option. With the facts mentioned above, I’m bound to get many entitled women's attention if I come alone.” You started to understand where he was going with this.
~”To prevent this, I’m going to attend with a partner so I can avoid most of the excess attention.”
~You listened to him with interest but also you felt a bit bad for him, him having to go to such lengths to just be in peace.
~As a child, you’ve always heard wonderful stories about extravagant balls and how they are for the rich to have fun, but as you got older you started to realize that those seemingly magical balls actually had more purposes to them than to just have fun.
~They were also the perfect place to snag yourself a husband or a wife if one was still unmarried, or a woman’s father would pick a husband for their daughter if he saw someone suitable.
~”I see. So I’m going to take a wild guess and bet that your partner doesn’t have a dress that would match your very attention-grabbing suit?” You’ve been in these situations more often than you could count, so you had a hunch why he came here.
~”It would be better if I and my acquaintance would wear similarly styled clothing.” You nodded along to his words. Agreeing that it would look kind of odd if his partner had a completely differently styled and colored dress than him.
~Of course it wasn’t uncommon for a pair to not match ‘at all’, but the ball Shoto described he was going to, indicated to you that the pairs should at least wear something matching, be it the pattern of the fabric, style of the clothing or accessories.
~”Of course, I’m sure I’ll be able to make a dress for your partner in a couple of weeks. Do you happen to know her favorite style of dress or her size? Then again It would be even better if they could come to the boutique and tell me themselves.”
~You hated the feeling in your gut, the fact that you felt slight jealousy towards the unknown person who would have the pleasure to spend time with someone like Shoto Todoroki. Not because he was rich and handsome, but because he was genuinely polite and kind. He treated the noble and not-so-well off the same because he saw them all as people.
~You shouldn’t feel this way. It’s none of your business who he’s going to be dancing with. You’re just his tailor, nothing more.
~”Actually, I have not asked them yet.” He said pretty stoically but you could catch a hint of nervousness and embarrassment. You stood there for a moment, going over his words a few times until you found your voice again.
~”...You want me to make a dress for a woman,... who isn’t even aware that they’re going to a ball with you?...” You inquired, speaking every word clearly in case you’ve somehow heard him wrong and he would correct you.
~Again, it’s not uncommon for people, most commonly men, to buy their partners dresses as a surprise. But those dresses were cheap summer dresses that were only slightly modified to the receiver’s liking, not perfectly fitted and sewn gowns that cost more than someone's whole month's rent!
~”Yes.” He confirmed. “You see, every time I attempt to build up the courage to ask them, I shy away like a small child behind their mother's dress.” He explained a bit bashfully. So that was the case, huh. “And the ball is only a short while away, so if we start the dressmaking process any later, it might be too much work on your end.” You silently appreciated his thoughtfulness.
~It was kind of hard to believe. Shoto, a very stoic man with power and good looks, felt nervous asking a woman to attend a ball with him. Then again, everyone had insecurities about literally anything one could imagine, he was no different you supposed so you had no right to judge.
~”I’m sure they would love to attend the ball with you. If they know you the same way as I do, I’m sure they’ll accept the invitation from someone as kind as you.” You reassured him, pushing down the feeling in your gut and focusing on helping, dare you say, your friend. He deserved it.
~He give you one of his rare smiles that made your heart melt for some unknown reason.
~”Thank you for the advice.” He bowed his head to you slightly. You shook your head.
~”No need to thank me.” You said with a smile. “Anyway, would you like to discuss more about this dress that you’re ordering?”
~”Yes.” He answered simply.
~”Alright, what kind of dress do you think she would like? Any references you can think of she might find appealing?” You asked, bringing out your trusty notebook.
~”I do not know what she would like.” He boldly said and you sweatdropped. This is going to be very hard…
~”Do you know her measurements?” You tried again but he just shook his head.
~”Not an exact number.” He said a little bashfully, it was improper for a gentleman to talk about a lady’s size.
~”Y-You must at least know something, I can’t do a dress with little to no information! I need references here!” You said half-panicky. This was already stressing you out and you have barely even begun.
~How are you supposed to make a dress not knowing what the receiver wants? What if they don’t like the color or the style? Or what if the gown is too small, too big or the hem is too long? So many things can go so wrong here, it’s not even amusing!
~Just as your soul was about to leave your body, Shoto brought back your attention.
~”May I look at you for a moment?” He asked. You blushed slightly from the bold request.
~”S-Sure, but may I ask why?” You asked in return and he gestured for you to come from behind the counter. You walked to the front and stood in front of him and he started to eye you up and down. You felt slightly nervous under his gaze as he circled around you and compared your height to his, but you kept your unmoving stance. After a moment, he nodded.
~”Yes, your measurements are going to be perfect.” He announced and you took a double-take. Is this man serious?
~”Are you certain!? You want me to use my measurements for the dress?”
~”The measurements will do, you are the same height and size.” You almost wanted to tell him to reconsider so he wouldn’t be making a big mistake, but you figured he wouldn’t be changing his mind, so you relented.
~”If you say so. Then how about the style?” You inquired again, in hopes that he would now have something in mind, but you had a feeling he didn’t.
~”As I said, I know next to nothing about style.” He reminded you calmly and you thought for a second when you came up with a solution.
~”How about I show you different styled dresses and then you can see if one of them catches your eye?”
~”We can do that.” He agreed.
~You asked if he was fine with coming to the backroom to look and he said he was fine with it. You said quick hi to your brother as you entered the room and brought Shoto to a clothing rack full of finished gowns that you have not yet mailed or given to the customers that ordered them. You skimmed through them and each time you explained to him what style it was and the price, which he didn’t seem to be too concerned about.
~”All of them are good in my opinion, I think I should just leave all the designing to you.” He spoke and you started to sweat again from anxiety. He can’t possibly be dumping this on you.
~This wasn’t a discussion about his suit. Shoto had little references or wishes when he ordered his clothes, so it was fine for you to design them for him.
~Right now you are discussing about a dress that a woman was going to be wearing to a ball, and women tend to be very selective about what they wear even to the market. So you are basically screwed in this situation.
~”Todoroki, I understand that you are nervous about asking them, but I’m really about to faint from anxiety over this dress over here!”
~”You don’t need to take so much stress over it.” He hopelessly tried to help you.
~”Do you really think that’s going to help me calm down?...”
~”What I mean is… No matter what kind of dress you sew, I know it’s going to be fantastic.”
~”Todoroki, many women are picky about their clothing. Even if one dress is pretty, they might still prefer a different one.” You explained. He seemed to be in thought for a minute. You turned back to the rack while you let him in his thoughts. ‘How am I going to resolve this?’
~”How about that dress?” You heard him ask. You turned around to look at him and saw him point at a draft of a dress that hung on the wall next to your desk, your eyes widened a smidge. You walked over to the draft and admired it.
~”I have never done this dress before.” You admitted as you traced your eyes over the simple but beautiful dress that you had drawn. “No customer has ordered it before.”
~”How come?” He asked again.
~”Well, they never come to the backroom for instance so they don’t see it.” You stated as you started to run your fingers over the worn parchment. Your dream dress. Your perfect dress to meet a kind prince in a flower garden at night, while the stars twinkle and bare witness to the two people falling in love, as they dance the night away under the moon light.
~”Do you plan on one day making it?”
~”What for? It’s too expensive for me to make a dress for a chance that it would be one day bought. I never go anywhere where I would need to wear so formal clothing. It would only be a waste of perfectly good fabric.” You said solemnly as you looked at the drawing again. Which Shoto seemed to notice.
~It was pretty quiet for a moment, you went over your options in your mind briefly. Maybe you should just do one of your more popular styles and hope for the best. You were about to suggest your idea to Shoto, but he beat you to it, and boy were you speechless after that.
~”Would you be willing to make this dress if I ordered it?”
~Will this man ever stop surprising you? Probably not, but you’re pretty sure you’ll always react the same way as you do now, Staring him down and looking for any clues in his body language that he’s pulling your leg.
~”You want this design made?”
~”Yes, I think it’s a very beautiful gown and it would be a shame to just leave it as a draft.” He reasoned.
~”You’ll never cease to amaze me…” You breathed out, not sure if you, once again, should start to second guess his decision. “At this point I would be asking you to reconsider, but I have a feeling you wouldn’t be changing your mind.”
~”You would be correct.”
~”But why Todoroki? Why do you have so much trust in me?” You inquired.
~”Because you’re my friend,” He answered with no hesitation. “I would go as far as to say that I trust you more than some of my family members.” He admitted. Your eyebrows shot up in surprise. ‘Alright I was not expecting that.’
~”I literally have no words.” You said dumbfounded.
~”There’s no need for any, I’m simply trusting you because I see you’ve got a good taste, and it would be an insult if a customer didn’t trust their tailor.” He flashed you his million dollar smile, and you almost collapsed to the floor right then and there. Cheese… You swear you’re soon going to have a heart attack from how hard your heart was pounding.
~“R-right, then I’ll make this dress if that’s what you wish, Todoroki.” Damn you and your stuttering.
~”Please, call me Shoto.” You looked at his heterochromic eyes seeing nothing but certainty in them. Your cheeks grew slightly pink.
“Sure, Shoto it is.”
~~~~~~
~You eyed the dress on the mannequin probably for the millionth time as you circled it, brushed off non-existent dust, or rearranged the hem of the dress to look better, even though it was already perfect.
~Saying you were nervous was an understatement of the century. You just couldn’t stop yourself from fidgeting and pacing around the back room. You have been walking around so much that you swore there is a clear path marked on the ground from where you have walked.
~”Just calm down will you? He asked you to make the dress from your drawing and you did just as he had asked.” William followed your pacing form with his eyes, and has been doing so for 10 minutes when the clicking of your short heels on the wooden floor became too distracting.
~”I’m not particularly worried about his opinion and you know it.”
~”I know dear sister, but why should you worry about a one woman’s opinion when you have not even met them?” William leaned on his desk and folded his hands over his chest.
~”They could complain to Shoto of the design or fit and then I would get a mouthful from him.” You imagined horrified as you pulled on your hair.
~”My gods..” He breathed out. “Now that is ridiculous. If his partner does not like the dress then it is not your battle, it’s Shotos and he can’t blame you for it.” He attempted to smack some sense into you. “And I doubt he would be that kind of person.”
~You finally stopped your mindless wandering. Breathing in deeply, and then exhaling. William eyed you. You turned to him.
~”I’m still nervous.” You admitted.
~”I’ll be alright.” He got up to rub your shoulders comfortingly. “Why don’t we calm your nerves with a cup of tea before he arrives-” He was cut off by the ding of the boutique bell. You tensed up.
~”I guess not then.” Your brother hummed. “Good luck!” He gave you a shove towards the doorway and immediately went over to his sewing machine to pick up from where he left off. You sighed and pushed your way to the main area.
~Shoto stood at the entrance, and he smiled as soon as you appeared in the room. You admitted, his smile did ease your nerves a bit, who wouldn’t feel comforted by that gentle smile?
“Welcome back Shoto.” You greeted your friend.
“Hello (Name). It’s relieving to be back, my father has been driving me mad.” He expressed as he hung up his jacket. You laughed lightly at his words.
~”I can imagine. Didn’t you mention he has been pestering you about some matter for some time?” You recalled the last time you spoke, which was a couple of days ago.
~”Yes, however this day has to be the most annoying of them all.” He walked over to the front counter where you stood.
~”How so, did something happen?”
~”You could say that, my father and I got into an argument over the most foolish thing. But I won’t ruin your day by complaining about it.” You felt bad for him that he must put up with his demanding father so much. Anyhow, it was not really your place to snoop into.
~”Are you sure you don’t want to talk about it?” You inquired.
~”Definite.”
~”Then I will not pry.” You announced, defeated. “The dress is ready, you want to have a look?”
~”I most certainly do.” He answered, with what you could’ve sworn to be excitement.
~”Then I’ll go get it, just a minute.” You disappeared into the backroom to go retrieve the gown. You took a moment to admire it for the last time. It was your dream dress. The dress you dreamed you would own once you grew up. The perfect fairytale dress for a magical ball.
~And now it was going to be someone else's dress for a ball.
~You tore your eyes off it. Not wanting to get too attached to it than you already were. You gathered up the hem of the dress and started pushing the movable mannequin to the main area.
~At least you actually got to make it in the first place.
~You rolled the mannequin over the threshold and over to the mirror. Spread out the skirt once it was in the perfect spot. And brushed out any odd creases. You stepped back and looked at Shoto’s reaction. He was speechless. Eyeing the gown with the most careful and amazed look you’ve ever seen. Even going over every ruffle and gem sewn on it with a delicate touch.
~”What do you think?...” Your question snapped the man from his daze as he turned to you, still a bit blown away.
~”It’s...It’s gorgeous, there’s nothing else I could possibly say.”
~”T-Thank you Shoto, I appreciated it.” Why were your cheeks getting warm, you get acknowledgement from customers all the time.
~”I like it very much, can you pack it for me, please?” He asked.
~”Of course I can.” You playfully answered and he rolled his eyes. You skillfully pulled the dress off the mannequin and carried it to the front counter to fold it neatly and pack into a big brown box.
~”Here’s the exact amount.” He handed you a check, and you took it just as you finished tying a dark-green ribbon around the box.
~”Here you go, feel free to stop by whenever.” You said your usual line as you expected to see him take the box and leave with his usual goodbye, but to your surprise, he doesn’t.
~You questionably tilted your head to the side, wondering what he was up to. Shoto then pushed the big box towards you and simply said:
~”Here, this is for you.”
~You blinked… Then twice… and after the third time you did and he did not move from his spot or do anything, you allowed yourself to once again question this man’s actions. This occurrence is starting to become a routine… It probably already is.
~”What is the meaning of this?” You inquired dumbfounded, thinking this was one big joke. Staring at the just tied up box on the counter like he wanted to return it.
~”It’s for you. For you to have as your very own.” But it was the opposite. He wanted to give it to you. For you to have as your own.
~”Wh- what are you..?” You stopped yourself before you started speaking total gibberish.
~”I understand this may come as a bit straight forward and unexpected, but would you like to accompany me to the ball this weekend?” He inquired while he looked at you with hope and nervousness in his heterochromatic eyes. Despite this, you still had to ask.
~”Are you tricking me?” Shoto flinched a bit when you didn’t answer immediately, then again, why did he think you would? He breathed to calm down his own nervousness.
~”I am not, I assure you, I’m most definitely serious.”
~”But why would you… ask me? What about the partner you’ve been talking about?” You fired question after question. Did his partner turn him down? Are they unable to attend? Are you his last available option?
~”I will gladly explain myself… if you let me.” Shoto said meekly while fiddling with the giant ribbon of the gift box.
~You allowed him to begin explaining, curious and, should you say, eager to hear what he had to say. Part of you still believing that whatever he was going to say, was going to hurt you one way or another.
~”When I first came into this boutique or rather was forced in here by my father, I thought that this suit tailoring process was going to be just like the previous ones I’ve been to. So bland and emotionless. Most of the tailors I’ve worked with were always driven either by money or leverage, not really caring about what or how they were sewing as long as they made the most profit.” He wasn’t looking at you, but at the smooth green ribbon between his delicate fingers.
~”When I came here, and we started the designing process, I was kind of taken off guard how much you cared about what you were doing. Always asking me if I was alright with what you had planned, in such a gentle way.” He squeezed the ribbon a bit more tightly.
~”I didn’t think too much of it at the time. By the second time I visited, I really started to see the passion in your eyes and hear the fire of enthusiasm in your speech. It showed on the clothes you made, managing to make so much more of the measly fabrics that you use, proving that you don’t need the best of the best to make something brilliant.” He let go of the ribbon, letting it slip from his grasp.
~“This side of you caught my attention like a shooting star on a cloudless night. I became interested in your passion and wanted to observe it more.” You tried your hardest not to blush, but your body betrayed you as your cheeks felt a tad bit warmer.
~“Every visit I would learn more about you and I couldn’t help but be captivated. You are so different from me that so many things you talked to me about were things that I have never even thought about. It’s refreshing to hear such things when you live the life I do.” He admitted.
~”Then… what was going on when you set the order for this gown?” You clearly could see his cheeks turn a shade darker.
~”At the time, I couldn’t build up the courage to ask you. So I made up an explanation that I had not yet asked my partner to the ball and needed the dress made before it was too late. Actually, I wasn’t technically lying.”
~”So… I… Was the partner you were planning on asking, this whole time?” You had a hard time wrapping your head around it.
~”From the moment I asked you to make this dress.” He confirmed.
~‘Oh how romantic.’ You thought with a slight laugh. These types of occurrences only seemed to happen in fairy tales, it was unbelievable. You noticed the white rose that poked out Shoto’s breast pocket. It was exactly the same looking as the ones you’ve received for weeks now.
~”That rose!” You suddenly exclaimed, startling both yourself and the male opposite of you. Your demeanor then immediately changed back to your meek demeanor when you realized that it could’ve just been a coincidence. a Really, really weird coincidence.
~”You finally noticed.” He commented. “What did you think of the roses that I left you? Were they a bit too much?” He nervously scratched the back of his neck. Why did he feel so nervous this whole time?
~”So it was you who kept leaving these in front of my front door and not some random guy who kept on mistaking the address.” You made quite a bold move and pulled the rose out of its previous sitting place and started to play with the petals of the flower. Gently feeling the velvety surface with the pads of your fingers. What a satisfying feeling.
~”That’s what you thought they were?”
~”Well I didn’t know what else to think. I didn’t really consider that they could’ve been from you though.” You looked at the delicate bloom in your hands. “But I’m glad they were from you, they really made me feel special.”
~”Do you know what will make you feel even more special?” He leaned closer to your face, so close where both of your breaths mixed, but you did not pull away.
~”What?” You inquired like an innocent maiden as you bravely peered into his miss-matched eyes, no-longer with shyness but calm anticipation.
~Boldly, Shoto closed the already small distance between you and gave you the most gentle and affection-filled kiss you’ve ever had in your life. Your knees would have buckled from under you, had you not taken a firm grip on Shoto’s shoulders, and Shoto taking a hold of your waist. Rose falling from your grasp, and onto the floor.
~He deepened the kiss even more and you gladly accepted it, embracing him with warm and welcoming arms. Soon, the need for air forced you to pull apart but you remained in each other’s hold.
~”Well, what do you say? Will you come to the ball with me?” He inquired again. You smiled again.
~”Of course I will.” He smiled and leaned in to give you another, shorter kiss.
~You suppose William will have to manage without you for a while.
Worth more than some perceive (Victorian!Todoroki X F!Reader) Part 2!
Tumblr media
Part 1 Here!      Part 3 Here!
~Even when you currently had so much work on your hands, you still found yourself excited when you got to work on Shoto Todoroki's luxurious suit.
~Not only because you were always excited when you got to do a masterpiece and see the amazed or impressed look on the customer’s face, but also because this time the customer, Shoto Todoroki, was so cooperative and helpful when you asked him your usual questions.
~The icing on the cake was the fact that he respected you. He thought of you as a person and not some scum who was below him. Well, you technically were below him if you looked at both of your social statuses. But he didn't really act like all the other noblemen that visited your shop, which already made him more likable.
~Unfortunately excitement wasn't the only thing you felt during the day. Exhaustion was another thing you felt pretty often.
~A typical morning for you and your brother was simple. You both would wake up early, put on your work attire, and then eat breakfast while you discussed the upcoming day. What garments you had to finish before the day was over or if you had any appointments booked.
~You and William were tired as ever as you both worked late last night, as you taught him how to perfect his invisible sewing stitch on tricky seams. But you enjoyed your cup of tea and crumpets with a smile nonetheless.
~You finished your breakfast and quickly swept the boutique's floor and did some last-minute cleaning of the clothing racks and fluffing up the pillows at the sitting area. Then you were finally ready to open up the boutique.
~You opened the double doors and unlocked them for the customers. Again you took the broom to sweep off any rocks or dust that might've been on the stairs. When you were satisfied, you turned back to go back into the boutique, but something hanging from the railing caught your attention.
~From the railing, a single white rose hung on a piece of string with a tiny card also hanging from the rose. You eyed the flower, confused. You walked over and untied the string from the railing and inspected the rose more closely. The stem didn't have a single thorn and the flower petals were flawless. There wasn't a single dead or a dried petal.
~Meaning it hasn't been awfully long since it was tied to the railing. You looked out at the street as if you would find the person who tied it there but you saw no one who stood out. You retreated back into the boutique and flipped the 'closed' sign over to 'open'.
~"The boutique is open." You called out to your brother who was cleaning up some papers at his desk, keeping the important papers while trashing the expired ones.
~"Was it busy outside?" He asked while he inspected some certain papers.
~"Not yet, but I found a rose tied to the railing." You said and he turned around eyebrows raised.
~"a Rose? From who?" He asked as he walked to stand in front of you. Oh, right. The card!
~"Oh, it's...." You trailed off as you looked at the card. "-To the beautiful maiden." You read the card. So it was for you? William took the card in his own fingers and read it over himself.
~"Well this is fairly interesting." He commented in thought.
~"It doesn't say who it's from." You stated the obvious, reading the card over again. "Could someone have mistaken the address?" You wondered out loud. Even if the person mistook the address, you felt your cheeks turn a shade of pink at the thought that for the first time in your life you received a rose as a gift.
~"Not sure, there are other people living here in their businesses just like we are. But the chance of a mix up with the address is pretty low." William noted and you nodded along.
~"Perhaps someone wanted to thank me with a gift for the dress or the suit I made for them." You wondered as you still gazed at the flower.
~"If that's the case then they must've been very grateful for your work." You nodded in agreement. Then a sudden idea came into your mind.
~"I'm going to put this in the boutique's sitting area for the customers to see." You announced as you bundled up your dress to run upstairs and look for a vase or something to put the rose in. You found a thin green vase that unfortunately had a small crack at the top, but you didn't mind. You filled it with water and placed the rose in and fortunately, the vase held the water in.
~You placed the vase on the side table next to the large mirror and rotated it so that the crack wasn't visible from the other directions. It looked very beautiful and you stood there for a moment in thought. For some reason, the rose reminded you of Shoto's snow-white hair. The pure white flower seemed to reflect light like his hair, and it was mesmerizing to you.
~The thought of the said male leads you to think about his suit that he ordered. You have almost finished with sewing the jacket base and basically, you only needed to add the details and accessories, which was a lot of work.
~Then a brilliant idea hit you. "Yes!" You exclaimed and ran into the backroom to finally start working.
~~~
~That one day didn't remain as the only day you would get a flower because strangely, the roses kept on appearing.
~For the past week you've gotten two more white roses with the same written card and you or William found them hanging from the railing on a string when you went to open the boutique in the morning.
~The first rose was a very sweet surprise in your mind, not that you didn't appreciate the other roses but once you saw the third rose hanging on the railing after a week had passed from when you found the first one, you started to become a tad bit wary of their meaning.
~Who would put them there? It was pretty obvious that it was the same person every time, but who? Did the person have a lover next door to you and William and just keeps on messing up the address? Because you were now becoming more and more convinced that that was the case.
~And you didn't really have a way to find out since you really don't feel like waking up in the middle of the night and wait for the mystery person to tie the rose to the railing nor did you want to knock on your neighbor's door to ask if the roses were for them...
~In the end, you came to the result that no matter what you would do, it's not gonna be worth doing it. You don't feel like your life is in danger and as long as it stays that way, you can sleep without worry.
~This morning you found no rose and you didn't really think much of it, but you did wonder if there would be one tomorrow. You and William were busy with work as you both pumped the sewing machine pedal on your respective contraptions over and over while you kept a focused eye on the needle as it pierced the fabric.
~The productive moment was interrupted as the boutique's front doorbell singled, indicating that a customer has stepped into the shop.
~"Is that your appointment?" William questioned.
~"If it is, they are 10 minutes early." You replied as you finished sewing the last ruffle and got up to dust off your dress and all and all make yourself look more presentable. You walked out to the front desk and immediately a smile made its way on your face as you recognized the people who came in.
~"Good morning Mr. Todoroki, and good morning to you too Sir." You greeted Shoto and his butler with a bright smile. His butler gave you a small bow and Shoto slightly smiled as he too greeted you while holding a big box in his hands.
~"Good morning, I hope you've been doing well." He too bowed his head slightly. He truly was nice. "I also brought the hat that I mentioned." He gestured to the box in his hold.
~"I have, thank you for asking." You replied. "You can place the box on the counter, I'm going to go and retrieve your suit, excuse me for a moment." You walked into the back room to get the suit. As you walked back out a few minutes later with a pile of clothing in your arms, you noticed Shoto eyeing the white rose that sat on the side table.
~"Pretty isn't it? I would've had two more but they died pretty quickly since I don't own any flower food." You handed him the pants, undershirt, and fully finished vest, to which you added a gold-colored chain that hung stylishly from one of the buttons to the little pocket at the front for his watch.
~"When did you decide to get flowers? I haven't seen any here before." He inquired as he stepped behind the folding screen. For the most part, it sounded like his usual way of speaking, but something about his question almost sounded like he was amused for some reason. You quickly discarded the thought as not important.
~"It's quite an interesting story actually if you care to listen." You laughed to yourself, he hummed for you to continue. "I didn't buy the flowers, I actually found them tied with a string to the front door railing." You explained as you eyed the still snow-white rose.
~"How peculiar." He commented stepping from behind the folding screen while adjusting his shirt sleeves. "Do you know who could've placed them there?" he inquired again. You shook your head.
~"I have no clue." You admitted and again you started to tug on his clothing and brush any stray hairs off. Shoto eyed as you did the same thing as last time he visited, you caught his stare, and this time around you realized what you were doing. Blushing, you immediately retreated your hands from his body.
~"I apologize! I didn't realize what I was doing." You looked away from him. He lightly waved his hands in front of him, trying to reassure you.
~"You didn't do anything wrong, I don't mind you helping me fix my clothing."
~"Sorry, It has become a habit as a tailor." You apologized again.
~"I assure you it's alright." You nodded to him and to quickly changed the topic, you retrieved the blue jacket that was going to be the centerpiece of his whole outfit.
~"Would you like to try on the jacket?" You questioned.
~"Yes, please." You nodded and helped him put on the jacket. Once it was on you were suddenly giddy as a little girl. The jacket hugged his shoulders perfectly and the smooth royal blue suited him wonderfully. The back of the jacket reached the bend of his knees while the front was shorter, Shoto looked like a prince from a fairytale.
~"The jacket is amazing. I have never worn anything like it before." He admired himself. Almost immediately he started to inspect the left side of his chest and shoulder.
~The jacket didn't have pretty much any decorations, so the painted on pattern stood out to him a lot. He turned to look at the mirror and he could distinguish a pattern similar to a rose being painted on his chest. The curves and twists were expertly drawn so that he had to do a double-take on how it was drawn so clearly on fabric.
~He traced the gold line with his fingers in admiration. You clearly took your time at painting this rose, which only made him more fascinated.
~"How do you like it? The roses actually gave me the inspiration to add them to your jacket, the symbol of honor, passion, and many more. Even if I do say so myself, I think the rose is a nice little touch, don't you think?" You asked, a bit unsure and afraid if he liked it or not. If he didn't then it would be an EXPENSIVE mistake since you painted the pattern on. Maybe you got too excited?
~"I like it." The sentence caught you off guard.
~"You do?" You now felt more confident to step closer to him. He smiled and looked at you.
~"I do, I like it a lot actually. The pattern looks marvelous." He again admired the detail and you let yourself sigh in relief that Shoto ended up liking your work.
~"Well, I'm glad that you like it. For a minute there I thought I would have to re-do the whole jacket." You chuckled while lightly tapping your fingers over your heart as you tried to calm down your beating heart.
~"Don't think so lowly of your abilities. Your boutique does have a reputation for selling high quality and personalized garments. Someone would be a fool to think otherwise." He now fully turned towards you.
~"We do, but no matter how good of a reputation we have, it still makes me a bit nervous every time I get an order for a special gown or a suit because most customers don't expect me to do as well as my brother." Your gaze was downcast as the thought of Shoto's father came into mind. "Most people are so used to male tailors, as you probably already know." You walked to the front desk and took your notepad to start writing in it.
~"In my mind, that shouldn't matter."
~"Hm?" You turned around to listen properly.
~"One's abilities should only be judged by the result, not by stereotypes or looks." He expressed. As a businessman himself, Shoto knew how hard it was for anyone to make a difference in a big city. He also knew how only men ran the big-shot businesses, while women were most often only shrugged off as incapable of doing the same job.
~It didn't sit well with him. That people assume someone is better than the other based on looks, race, religion, gender and not to forget wealth and family name. He has met many people with huge amounts of potential that came from various backrounds, but they didn't get to show it because of how others saw them.
~Victorian age really wasn't any better under all the brilliant inventions and frilly ball gowns.
~"Well, there's little to nothing I could do about it. I can't change how others think, I can only prove to them in the end that I can do what they thought I can't." You smiled at him sweetly with a hint of tiredness, for how many times you've told that to William or yourself.
 ~Shoto went to say something but you managed to speak first. "It doesn't matter. Let's drop the subject and discuss about your hat." You obviously didn't want to talk about the matter further, so he dropped it there and agreed with your statement.
~While Shoto went to change out of his current outfit, you carefully opened the box on the counter and with delicate fingers, you fished the clean black tophat out. You only need to inspect it for a minute when inspiration comes to you as it always did.
~~~~
~”Why didn’t you go? If someone would’ve offered to take me to the theater to watch, The Abstract Thief, I would’ve said yes in a heartbeat.” You inquired astounded, as you worked on Shotos hat in the boutique’s sitting area.
~The said man was seated next to you as you comfortably talked about your daily lives. The current topic that you two were discussing was how Shoto had been asked by his brother and sister to go and watch the latest and a pretty popular play, The Abstract Thief.
~Stangely you and Shoto spend a lot of time together nowadays. You asked him about it and he admitted that he would like to spend as much time outside of his home as he could, as he did not enjoy being around his father.
~You understood his explanation and didn’t question him after that. From there, you two started talking a lot about various topics while you worked at the same time. The boutique was mostly empty most of the times he was visiting, so it wasn’t a problem for you to sew a bow or organize the shelves while talking.
~You enjoyed Shotos company, and you could tell he did too enjoy yours.
~”I don't really care for plays. Most of the time, massive sections and plots of the book are cut off when made into a play. I think it’s more enjoyable when the whole story is being told rather than just the main plot.” He explained as he spared a look at your hands and the hat that you were oh so delicately working on.
~You have painted a rose with gold paint on the side of the hat, much like how you did his jacket, and now you were just adding some finishing touches to it.
~”I suppose you’re right, but it still was a chance for you to spend time with your family.” You reminded him. You haven’t heard him talk about his siblings much, but you presumed he does care for them a lot.
~”I don’t see how that would be any fun. You can not talk during the performance.” You wanted to almost slap your forehead. The more time you spend with Shoto, the more you’ve come to realize that sometimes he isn’t really that good at picking up social cues.
~”It’s the thought that’s important.” You expressed. “They just want to spend time with you. Even if you can’t talk, it’s nice that you’re there with them.”
~He held his chin in thought. “I have never thought about it that way.” He admitted.
~”Honestly…” You breathed out. You placed the last detail on the hat and lifted up the finished product, inspecting it with sharp eyes. You wanted it to be perfect.
~”It’s finished, do you like it?” You offered the hat to him and he took it from your hands looking over the paint job himself, nodding in approval.
~”Yes, I like it.”
~”Okay, then that means your whole suit is now finished.” You stood up from the couch and started to clean up all your tools from the side table and brought them to the backroom before emerging back out along with his suit.
~”I’ll just pack these up for you really quick.” You said as you pulled out two boxes and white tissue paper to neatly pack the clothes and the hat in so they would make it home safely. You placed the lids on each box and tied them with a green ribbon to top it off.
~You pushed the boxes forward announcing how much money Shoto needed to pay. Shotos butler, whose existence you always somehow forget, took the boxes while Shoto paid the rest 50% of the suit since the first 50 was paid right in the beginning.
~”Thank you for coming, I hope to see you again.” You said your usual line naturally, and Shoto let a small smile tug at the corners of his lips as he turned to leave.
~”That time will arrive sooner than you might think.” You blinked at him in confusion.
~”What do you mean?” You questioned curiously.
~”I’d like to ask you for another commission.” He answered.
~”Wow, have I suddenly become your favorite tailor?” You have no idea why or where you pulled that joke from, but right after you said it Shoto immediately answered back.
~”Yes, actually.” Ok, you weren’t expecting that response…
~”Oh, r-really? Thank you!” You said in shock but also in appreciation.
~”Let’s discuss it on another day. I will come and stop by.” He promised and lightly waved his hand in a goodbye.
~”See you then!” You called to him along with your own wave goodbye, before he finally exited the boutique. You heaved out a sigh, still in a slight haze from his compliment as you walked into the backroom to see William sitting at his desk, sewing buttons to a vest.
~”How did it go? Did you have fun chatting away with him?” William asked with a teasing tone as he kept on working.
~”Oh hush! You know it’s nothing like that, I just enjoy talking to him since I rarely get to talk to other people other than you.” You said as you went over to your desk to go look over your planner.
~”Whatever you say, sister.” He said in the same tone, but you didn’t comment on it. Shoto would surely never think of you that way.
~You slightly saddened at the fact and your chest ached a little, but then you remembered the white roses that to this day you have been receiving, still not knowing the identity of the person leaving them there. You glanced over to the main side and eyed the new white roses that sat in the cracked vase.
~But someone might...
Worth more than some perceive (Victorian!Todoroki X F!Reader) Part 1
Pairing: Shoto Todoroki x Reader
Warnings: None.
Other: Quirks aren't a thing in this particular story and Endeavour's just being a piece of crap
Summary: Living hand to mouth was not easy in the Victorian ages, but you managed. Being nothing more than a dressmaker surrounded by rich people, you doubted someone would be interested in you. But you were proven wrong when you occasionally started to find neatly wrapped up little gifts on your threshold in the mornings.
Tumblr media
Part 2 Here!     Part 3 Here!
~"(Name)! We got another order!" Your older brother William shouted from behind a corner. You really weren't paying attention to what he was saying as you were sewing a delicate silver ornament on the front of a beautiful dress.
~The ornament was what would catch most of the attention upon first look at the gown, so it had to be sewn perfectly, and by a steady hand. So you couldn't afford to make any mistakes or you would have hell to pay later.
~"(Name)!! Didn't you hear what I said?" Your brother enters the backroom of the boutique where you were working along with some papers in his hands. He looked and sounded a bit annoyed, but you knew it was unintentional. It has been especially a stressful week.
~"I did, but I am kind of in the middle of something here..." You trailed off as you stuck out your tongue in concentration and still not looking in your brother's direction.
~"Oh, apologizes sister. I thought you were having your break." He spoke more softly this time as he took a seat at his desk that was right next to yours.
~"I would be, but I have to finish this gown before closing. The customer said they would come to pick it up today."
~"I've noticed you have been working more lately. You must be more tired than usual." He pointed out, with a saddened tone.
~"Thank you for reminding me." You flatly commented as you continued to work.
~"I didn't mean to insult you, I'm just worried about your health." You scowled as you finally finished sewing the ornament and cut off the excess thread.
~"Yes, I have been working more lately since I also have to do a part of your work too. For example, last week you were gone for two days when you went to market our shop to the extravagant ball that had wealthy people from all over the capital." You still weren't looking at him.
~"And while you were spending time talking to very important people. I was here at the boutique doing my AND your work for those days." You looked over your masterpiece. Looking for any imperfections or accidental tea stains, finding none. "Plus, you wore one of my most expensive, delicate, and time-consuming suits." You continued your rant.
~"I have never made anything as high-quality as that suit, so if you somehow managed to get even one stain on it, you best believe I would have made you beg for mercy on your knees." You slipped the gown on a mannequin and spread the hem of the dress and took a step back to really see how it would look in the action.
~"It is breathtaking." William commented behind you.
~"William...." You said warningly as you finally turned to him, brushing non-existing dust off your dress skirt and long dress sleeves before crossing your arms. You could admit that right now you may act a little too harshly but you were tired and it clouded your judgment a bit.
~"Alright, alright, I know. But I already told you why all of it was necessary. We have to get our name out there, and what better way to promote our glorious suits and gorgeous dresses than letting them see them see first hand! You should have seen how intrigued and impressed all the men and women were when they saw me." He tried to lift your spirit by smiling brightly and jumping up and down a little.
~He wasn't wrong. If you two wanted more customers than the locals, you had to expand your promotion. And it took lots of effort and skill to lure people to consider buying your clothing, and William was good at that. And since you were a bit more advanced in sewing than William, it meant that you could get work done faster, hence you could handle the workload if he had to leave for a while. So you were always left to sew alone at the boutique.
~But it still bothered you.
~"I know, but it still frustrates me that it's always you who gets to go to the magnificent balls, wearing luxurious clothing while I'm here by myself working my arse off." You ranted while you paced back and forth in front of him. “They probably thought you tailored that suit and not me.”
~"I specifically told them that you, my dear sister, had been the one who made it." He grabbed your shoulder, in a last effort to stop your nonsense blabbering.
~"And you think they were listening? "A young woman couldn't possibly make something so prestigious and form-fitting for a businessman." "She surely couldn't have made it." "There is no way she designed it." I've heard them all!"
~"Calm down (Name)... You're breathing heavily again..." You didn't even realize you were. You took a couple of deep breaths and gazed at the floor.
~"It's just so... unfair..." You said depressed as you hugged him. You knew it had to be this way, but after a while, you start to grave for a taste of something new and exciting. Not the same old, same old bread that you have been chewing for the last few years.
~William knew how much more credit he was getting than you since most people automatically assume he's the one who designs the suits and accessories because he's the man who people first meet. In reality, it's you who does that. You're the one who basically runs the boutique, not him. William hugged you tightly back.
~"I know (Name)... I know."
~~~
~"Oh, did I forget to mention that a customer had booked an hour-appointment for this morning?" William asked as he went through some mail at his desk. You were just walking down the stairs from your shared home with your tea in hand.
~It was very convenient to have the boutique on the first floor and then your living quarters on the second. Affordable and comfortable, that's what you say. And you were always on time to open the store for customers.
~And with you being happy for once in a long time as you got a good night's rest, you figured that this day would be over in a breeze. You sipped your drink and sat down at your own work desk.
~"Yes, you forgot to mention. Did they say anything special in the letter?" You inquired.
~"Hmm..." He quickly read the letter again. "They said they wanted us to make a suit for them. Said that they would discuss more once they're here."
~"Interesting, It has been a while since we've made a custom suit. Did you get the name of the customer?"
~William looked at the letter again to see who the suit it was for, and his eyes widened to the size of saucers as he read the name.
~"Bloody hell!" He exclaimed as he jumped from his seat.
~"What is it, brother?" You questioned as you put down your empty teacup.
~"The customer is Enji Todoroki!!!"
~"WHAT!!!" It was your turn to shout and jump up from your seat. By what chance was someone so well known as Mr. Todoroki, coming to buy a suit from your small boutique?
~"Are you serious!? You mean... the owner of the steam train factory!?" You jumped from your seat ecstatic.
Enji Todoroki was well known for his very serious and hypercritical personality, and he even made a bigger name for himself when he funded the designing and building of the newest and the fastest train in the country. You didn't really favor him for his gruff and intimidating attitude, nor did your brother, but this was an amazing opportunity to get more publicity for your business since he is, a well-known and respected man amongst the wealthy.
~"Exactly him!!!" He confirmed.
~"I can't believe this!!! This is amazing for the business if he is satisfied with the outcome of the suit!"
~"You said it, sister." He smiled brightly.
~Just then, the doorbell rang in the main area and multiple pairs of footsteps could be heard step inside the boutique. You and William looked at each other and breathed in together, as a silent language to tell the other to 'calm down and act natural'. As though you weren't shouting just a second ago.
~William exited the back room first with you following suit with a tape measure hanging around your neck and a freshly dusted off dress.
~The actual boutique of the building wasn't anything too special nor expensive looking. In one room, there was a giant front desk with plenty of table space, the whole wall behind the desk was filled with different colored and/or patterned fabrics, the right side of the boutique had different styled dresses and suits neatly hanging on clothing racks for customers who wished to spend a bit less on looking good, and the whole left side of the store held a large mirror, a couple of couches for guests to sit on, and a folding screen for privacy.
~For rich people, it may look cheap, plain, or downright shameful. But for you and your brother, it was your pride and home.
~"Good morning Sir! Welcome to The Siblings Attire and Accessories! How may we help you, gentlemen?" William greeted the two males plus their butler.
~"When you see such a fine suit presented to you, you would think the tailor would have a better taste in furniture." Mr. Todoroki shamelessly commented and you and William internally winced. It was your first time meeting the man and you were already tempted to give him a piece of your mind. Instead, you silently exhaled and bit your lip.
~"We apologize if our shop looks a bit flimsy to your taste, but I can assure you that our clothing won't disappoint you." You stepped up next to your brother.
~"I sure hope so." You weren't listening to him, but instead, your attention shifted to the person standing a bit away from him. The male's eye-catching two-colored hair immediately caught your attention as soon as you walked into the room, and now that you had a better look at them, he seemed to have even different colored eyes.
~He also had a painful-looking scar over his left eye that somehow made his already interesting aspects look even more intriguing. Or perhaps it was a birthmark? Either way, he was handsome, you were not gonna lie.
~Clearly he didn't enjoy being near Mr. Todoroki, or maybe even here in the first place. You couldn't tell from his mildly annoyed look while he kept a fair distance. Poor man.
~"Over a week ago, I attended a ball that you also happened to be present at, and I saw your high-quality suit. I need you to make a similar one for my son Shoto. We are going to be attending another ball and he needs a new suit." He explained and the whole time he didn't even spare a glance at you, as though you weren't even there. But his son did give you a mute acknowledgment, which made you feel better.
~"Certainly. If you could come this way Mr. Todoroki, I will take your measurements." You motioned with your hand for the dual-hair-colored male to walk over to the mirror as you grabbed a notepad and a pen from a drawer. He complied and went to stand in front of the mirror.
~"Aren't you supposed to take his measurements." The older Todoroki asked your brother.
~"Um... Pardon?" He inquired back and you turned to look at the nobleman.
~"I just was just wondering. You're the one who's going to sew it after all?" You gripped the notepad in your hand tightly out of anger. Who does this man think he is to assume who's gonna make what, and expect to be right?
~"I apologize Mr. Todoroki, but my sister was the one who tailored the suit I wore to the ball last week. So she will be making your son's suit." William corrected him nervously as you sensed the fire of anger burning behind you.
~"She will be sewing the suit?" Mr. Todoroki inquired, sounding like he believed this was some kind of a joke.
~You were very close to saying something to the bastard, but the Todoroki whose name you learned was Shoto beat you to it.
~"Shut it father, it doesn't matter. Let her just do her job." He said in an annoyed tone.
~Fortunately, Mr. Todoroki didn't have to be told twice as he let the subject go with a 'tch' and a look of irritation towards both your way. Shoto 'tch'ed in response and began to take his coat and hat off. He handed the articles of clothing to his butler and lifted his arms to let you take his measurements.
~You began to measure him and asking basic questions such as what kind of vest he wanted over his dress shirt and how long he wanted the coat to be.
~He decided on a basic five-button vest with a coat that ended at the back of his knees. He wanted no ruffles on his outfit except for the neck piece.
~"I prefer not to have them." He expressed.
~"I understand." You said as you scribbled down some notes in a hurry. "Now what fabrics do you want your suit to be made from?" You led him to the wall where you stored your fabrics. Letting him have a look at them.
~"If you don't have anything special on your mind, I can recommend some colors for you if you'd like."
~"Please do."
~"Well let's see..." You trailed off as you thought deeply. "I think this royal blue would suit you well along with white and pale gray." You grabbed the tree rolls of fabric and placed them on the counter behind you for Shoto to see how the colors looked next to each other.
"I can make the coat mainly from this royal blue, and I can add some accessories to it such as buttons or other details. The dress pants could be made from this white, and the vest from the gray. I could even add a chain for your pocket watch on the vest." You rambled as you quickly sketched a rough picture of the finished outfit.
~Shoto listened intently as you continued on explaining what would look best on him and questioned if he wanted to make any changes. He thought it was nice to have a say in what he wanted to wear, instead of it being decided for him. Every time, he'd feel uncomfortable wearing whatever the other tailors made for him, but he didn't want to waste their hard effort. Even if he did not appreciate the suit.
~This was a new experience for him and he liked it. You weren't pushing him to make the suit from the most expensive and uncomfortable materials. On the contrary, you let him feel the fabrics and then decide what he wanted.
~For once in his life, he enjoyed the suit tailoring process.
~"Oh, I apologize. I am rambling again." You looked downcast, embarrassed.
~"It's quite alright, but about the vest, could it be made from a fabric with a pattern instead?" he politely asked.
~"Of course! Which one would you prefer?" You pointed to the gray fabrics that were each differently patterned.
~"I would like that one." He pointed to a roll that was out of both of your reach.
~"Alright, let me get it for you." You spoke as you grabbed a step ladder and placed it in front of the shelf.
~You grabbed the hem of your dress and carefully climbed up to grab the roll, but forgot how heavy the roll actually was, so you started to lose your balance on the ladder. Shoto noticed your struggle and swiftly came to your aid by grabbing the roll from the other end with one hand while the other went to your back.
~"Careful, you could fall and injure yourself." He cautioned you and you blushed slightly.
~"T-Thank you, I'll be more careful next time." You said and placed the roll on the table.
~You continued on designing the suit while your brother William kept your other guests entertained. Soon you two came up with a plan and Shoto seemed happy with it. All of the men left the boutique shortly after with Shoto promising he'll come again later that week for the first fitting.
~For some reason, you were looking forward to meeting him again.
~"Goodness! That was intense." You sighed heavily as you sat down on the couch with your sketch-notepad on your lap.
~"Not sure what you were expecting. They are a part of the Todoroki family and they tend to thrive for perfection. So of course they would want the perfect suit." William sat next to you.
~"Still. What really made this appointment easier was that this time the customer wasn't demanding ridiculous things or asking for a lower price. They even paid the 50% upfront without even batting an eye." You recalled.
~"They know what they are doing, and as long as we do what we're paid for, we won't be having any problems." He said.
~"Talking about problems, I'm still kind of upset about what Mr. Todoroki said..."
~"I understand your issue (Name), but it's better to just let it go. We must know our place, and that is below them." He reminded you and you sighed in defeat.
~"You're right…
~~~
~The day of the first fitting came, and Shoto Todoroki walked inside the boutique accompanied by the same butler as last time, except this time his father wasn't there.
~This fact brought some form of relief to him as he wasn't sure how much longer he could tolerate his father's presence. Every minute Shoto spent in the same room as his old man when they had guests over or when they were at some meaningless ball, Shoto would imagine a pocket watch in his mind, count down the seconds and wait until he would be allowed to leave.
~In retrospect, one could say Shoto was happy to be in the small boutique.
~It was a perfect excuse to be away from home for an hour longer than "intended". And since he wouldn't be allowed to move out of the household until he got married, these kinds of excuses were the types he was seeking for more often than not. And he gladly took every one of them.
~The familiar soft ring of the bell a top of the door signaled his arrival and shortly footsteps jogged out of the back room. It was the male tailor, William. Shoto looked around the boutique and didn't see the other tailor.
~"Ah, Good morning Sir! If my memory's not mistaken, you came in for a first fitting, am I right?" William said with the same enthusiasm as Shoto witnessed last time. This time however William's eyes looked a bit tired, which made Shoto wonder if the man had not slept enough.
~Why would he be concerned? He too has nights when he had to be working every once in a while. It was normal, nothing too serious.
~"Yes. You don't need to rush anything, I can wait until you're done with your current work." Shoto informed while taking off his hat.
~"Oh, I am sorry if you forgot, but I'm not the one responsible for your suit. I'll see if my sister is available. Please have a seat." William responded and disappeared into the back room again. Shoto paused for a moment but then shrugged off his coat and gave it to his butler to hold.
~That's right, how could he forget.
~The white and red-haired male made himself comfortable on the couch as he silently thought. He felt like he was lucky to have you as his tailor. You sounded so inspired, motivated, and excited as you designed his suit. People with a passion for what they did, more often performed better than those who didn't.
~And it showed on the finished product. He wanted to know more about how you worked. How passionate one could be about something. It interested him for some reason.
~A few minutes passed by and there was no sign of either of the siblings, not even a sound could be heard. He wasn't getting impatient, but rather curious about what was keeping (Name).
~He didn't need to think about it much longer when he heard rapid heel clicks coming from the back room. Soon (Name) stood in the door frame with a pile of clothing in her hands, she bowed in courtesy.
~"I apologize for the wait. I was in the middle of sewing and you apparently told William that you could wait. Oh, and how are you?" You walked over to him. Now that you stood closer, Shoto could see the similar dark circles under your eyes too. For some reason, the sight made him sad this time around.
~"No need to apologize, I am in no hurry. And I am feeling good."
~"Alright then, let's start." You placed the pile of clothing on a small round table next to the mirror and handed him the fully finished white dress shirt and pants. Shoto took them and walked behind the folding screen to change.
~ a Few minutes later, he walked out and looked himself over in front of the mirror.
~"How does it feel? Any itchy spots? Is the fitting to your liking?" You questioned. Lightly tugging his shirt to the correct places and brushing off any hair or invisible dust on his shoulders out of instinct. You didn't realize it but Shoto noticed what you were doing, but he stayed silent.
~"They suit me perfectly, and I don't feel itchy at all." He commented as he looked at himself in the mirror. He really wasn't one to admire himself when he was in front of a mirror, but this time he couldn't help but look at himself as maybe for the first time in his life he felt comfortable while also looking good.
~"So nothing needs to be changed?"
~"No." He confirmed.
~"Excellent. Now let's try the vest." You said as you walked the few steps over to the round table. "I will have to apologize, for the vest is not completely finished." You held the piece of clothing behind Shoto, gesturing that you would like for him to put it on. Shoto carefully bent his arms back and stuck his arms through the holes as you helped him to pull it on.
~The unfinished garment had strings hanging from everywhere, unsewn seams, and buttonless holes. Even so, it looked exactly like he imagined it would. The shade of grey and the patterns were very much to his liking and he could already imagine how much better it would look once the buttons were sewed on and the whole piece was tidied up.
~"I like it very much." He commented as he shifted so he could see it from different angles.
~"I'm glad it is to your liking." You nodded as you scribbled extra notes on your notepad.
~"May I ask what you are writing?" Shoto inquired curiously.
~"I'm writing some notes. Now that I see you dressed in the clothing, I now have a better picture in mind what details I can add to your jacket since it will be the most eye-catching garment out of all the others."
~Shoto stood there before the mirror, where it would have looked like he was looking at himself but in actuality, he was looking at the woman behind him in the mirror. He couldn't explain how he was still mesmerized by how much work and effort you were putting into his suit.
~In this day and age, most tailors wouldn't give way too much thought to what they were sewing. It was all about how many pieces of clothing they could sell with the least amount of time and expense because they had families to feed and couldn't afford to waste time.
~But here you were. Putting so much effort into a suit that many men like himself would only use a few, if not only once, and then have another one made.
~Shoto can't count all the times a suit was tailored for him because after he wore it once, he would throw it away, for it was too uncomfortable or it tore easily. He had a few suits that he liked, but they weren't too formal. More so for running errands and such.
~"I'm quite impressed with your commitment to your work." Shoto turned to you as you were still scribbling on the paper. You stopped as you heard him speak.
~"Pardon?" You were caught off guard by his question.
~"Don't get me wrong, I wasn't implying that I thought you would do a bad job. I'm implying that I'm surprised at how much thought you seem to put into the clothes you make." He clarified. You stood there for a moment thinking about how to respond.
~"You could say I am passionate about the suits and dresses that I make." You temporarily pocketed your notes and pencil into your dress’s pocket while gesturing for him to take off the vest. Shoto complied and gave it to you.
~"Growing up, my family didn't have enough money to buy new clothes. So I always admired all the people with gorgeous dresses and fancy suits along with decorated headpieces and hats. Only to dream to someday own such pieces of clothing myself." You recalled as you sat down on the couch and started scribbling into your notebook again.
~"My mother was always busy working around the house, so usually I along with William were the ones who patched up our family's clothes with a rusted needle. Over time I and William got quite good at sewing and made it into a small business amongst the neighbors who didn't know how to sew." You continued.
~"As years passed and we got better at sewing, our parent's health only weakened. Before they passed, our mother told us to do what we were passionate about and to do our absolute best at it." You finished with your notes and stood up to motion to the boutique.
~"That's exactly what we did. We sold everything we owned, took a small loan, and bought this boutique and all the equipment, fabric, and necessities to open a tailoring business with all the money we had. We made a name for ourselves with the quality formal wear we sold and here we are." You finished the story with a smile, remembering all the hard times you and your brother had to endure to be where you are right now. Looking back, you didn't regret anything.
~While you sat on the couch talking away, Shoto stayed put and listened to your every word. After hearing how much you worked and endured in your life to be where you are now, he felt so intrigued by you. a Woman who became something from nothing along with her brother, while his job and fortune were practically guaranteed from the moment he was born.
~You and your brother deserve respect for working so much and sacrificing sleep for your craft, but some people don't always give any because they are wealthier. In Shoto's mind, it's pathetic. To act ungrateful and more important only because they are wealthier than the person they are buying from.
~'How unfair.' Shoto thought. And there's nothing he could really do about it.
~"That's a very inspiring story." Shoto commented with a hint of emotion he rarely shows as he stepped behind the folding screen to change out of the clothes back to his own.
~"You think so?" You called from the other side as you folded the vest and hung it over your arm and waited for him to finish.
~"Yes, it's very inspiring in my opinion to hear such stories. It proves that people can be worth much more than some perceive." He said and you didn't know what to say. From the moment you first saw this split-hair-colored male, you knew he would be an unusual customer. But surely you weren't expecting him to think so highly of people "lower" than him.
~He talked with you without the usual snappish, rich people attitude, which by itself already hinted to you that he didn't care about the difference between the social classes. He didn't even seem to mind when you talked minutes upon minutes about his ordered clothes or your passion for sewing.
~'He indeed is an unusual customer.' You thought.
~"Should we arrange another time for another fitting?" Shoto inquired as he handed the clothes back to you in a neatly folded pile. You nodded to him as you took the clothes.
~"Let's do to that, I'm confident that by then I will have at least a jacket ready for you to try on, However, I can't promise if it will have any details..." You trailed off as you dug around under the front desk for an appointment book. You let out a small 'aha!' when your fingers hit the said book.
~You dug it out and opened it at the page you or William wrote last. "Hmmm, I'm free next Thursday at 8 AM." You proposed. He nodded.
~"That will work." You nodded and started writing away with the ink pen. a few seconds went by when he suddenly spoke.
~"I apologize, but could you do a small request of mine?" You looked up at him when you finished writing.
~"What were you thinking?" You inquired, closing the book in front of you.
~"Do you decorate other pieces of clothing such as top hats?" You quirked your eyebrow at the request.
~"I've done it a few times, but usually that's the hat makers job." You spoke honestly.
~"I was only thinking of something small to make it match the suit, and I already have a hat you could decorate." You thought about it.
~"Sure, you'll just have to pay a bit extra for the finished suit because I decorated the hat too." You reminded him.
~"Of course, thank you." He smiled slightly, satisfied that he managed to convince you. You blushed at the sight and you cleared your throat quietly to distract yourself.
~"Pleasure doing business with you." You said with a smile. He nodded and bid you goodbye.
~Once Shoto stepped out of the boutique followed by his butler, whose existence you completely forgot about, you let out a loud sigh as you slumped onto the front desk. Thinking about the nice things Shoto said to you and his gentle smile.
~'What is wrong with me?' You pinched the bridge of your nose blushing as you couldn't stop your mind replaying the past half an hour in your head. You stayed there for a moment when William emerged from the back room, holding a cup of tea in his hand while the other rested in his front pocket. He must be taking a break.
~"How is it going?" He sipped at his tea.
~"Well... I have a lot of work on my hands, that's for sure."
I just to say to make sure to take care of yourself you dumbass! If you feel overworked and like you need a break then go ahead AND DRINK YOUR WATER!!!!!! You deserve to be relaxed and happy dumbo.
Thank you for the kind words! I feel like it’s pretty common for writers and artists alike, to think that they should always be pushing out content while they should probably be taking time for themselves.
I’m guilty of this habit! But I’ll try my best to take a break every once in a while.
Waking up from anesthesia (Bakugou X Reader)
Paring: Bakugo Katsuki X Reader
Words: 1400
Warnings: None (gringe?)
Summary: Bakugou’s in the hospital and comes back from a surgery, and he wakes up while still under the influence of laughing gas, and he has a lot to say and won’t shut up. (Like those wisdom teeth removal videos)
Note: Okay... I said I’m not working on any Bakugou fluffs but I got the inspiration so…. here we are! I’m also gonna go ahead and use Yagami Yato's nickname for the reader.
Tumblr media
~”Mrs, Bakugou, you can see him now.” A nurse got your attention, and you immediately got up from the uncomfortable waiting room chair, eager to finally see your husband who had just gotten out of a surgery. Him being a pro hero, he often got his body littered with wounds or broken bones, so the hospital has become a usual visiting place for you.
~You trailed behind the nurse as she led you through the corridors and over to a door. She opened the door and you saw your dear husband laying on a hospital bed as he rubbed his eyes and forehead, probably in an attempt to clear his fuzzy vision and mind. You went over to him and gripped his hand.
~”Katsuki.” You called his name, and the only response you got was a confused groan as the said male squinted his eyes.
~”He’s still under the influence of the gas, and it will take a while to wear off. Once he’s able to stand up then you can leave.” The nurse explained.
~“Thank you so much.” You smiled.
~”You’re welcome. I’ll come back in a bit to check up on you, okay?”
~”Thanks.” You called once more and she left you and your hubby alone. You graced over his knuckles with your thumb as you tried to get him to respond. His movements were unusually slow and he didn’t look annoyed for once.
~Of course you’ve seen his calm side more than anyone ever will, but this version of Katsuki was more.... out of it, you guess you could say. No matter how many times have you seen him like this, it still surprised you every time.
~”Katsuki~. How are you feeling?” You gently asked him. He blinked his eyes open as if he still couldn’t see you sitting right there beside him. Once he got his eyes to open he took a minute to observe you.
~”Wow, you’re a beauty…” He mumbled, and you let out a breathy laugh. There it was. Him and his gas-affected mind.
~”Aw, thank you honey.” You replied to the compliment. You should enjoy this while it still lasts. “But how are you feeling? Do you want anything?” You inquired again, wanting to help him any way you could.
~”I’m feeling pretty high… have I ever been high?” He slurred confused while you tried to not laugh out loud. It felt too wrong to do so.
~”Not that I know of.” You answered with a grin as you kept on stroking his hand.
~”Are you a model?” He suddenly asked and you chuckled again. Oh how embarrassed is he going to be when he remembers this afterwards. Should you take a video on your phone and send it to Kirishima, Ashido, or even Midoriya?
~”I’m not a model, Katsuki. You know this.”
~”What!... You’re too pretty to not be… not be…” You snickered at him forgetting the words he was about to say. You almost couldn’t believe this was your Katsuki, Ground zero, a feared and respected pro hero who at first meeting comes off as a ticking time bomb, but gets softer once you know him for a while. Oh how sweet is this.
~”This is so unbelievably amazing…” You muttered to yourself as Katsuki only slurred in his haze. You made most out of these moments when he wasn’t making snarky comments, you loved his normal side, but you also enjoyed this side of him. It was, dare you say, a nice change.
~”Who are you to me?” He sounded adorably confused more than serious, you smiled at his antics and played along.
~”I’m (Name), your wife, remember?” You showed him your ring that you received when you and him got married. He looked like a surprised child when you showed him your ring and he looked at his own.
~”You’re MY wife!? OH Hell yes! Take that you shitty Deku!” He exclaimed loudly, sitting up on the bed. You immediately rushed to push him back against the pillows so he wouldn’t get hurt while in this state.
~”Shhh, not so loud Katsuki. Yes I’m your wife, you won the battle.” This brought back the memory when you two were still in high school. Katsuki had a crush on you but didn’t know how to approach you without scaring you off. Izuku was your good friend and you often hung out with the greenette, which, unbeknownst to you, made Katsuki jealous that his rival was getting so close to you.
~The day you agreed to be his girlfriend, he laughed menacingly and hugged you close to him for a few weeks whenever Izuku was around. The green haired boy never had any deeper feelings for you, but Katsuki still saw him as a rival. Still does.
~”Ha Ha Haaa!!! How do you like that you nerd!” Oh good grief, he was acting like his high school self. You felt a bit embarrassed but at the same time amused. You couldn’t help but laugh.
~“*Cough* *Cough* Katsuki, calm down, okay? Here, have some water, yeah?” You offered the shitty plastic cup to him and he attempted to grab it, but when he reached past the cup, you helped him to take a sip. Once the small cup was empty he laid back down.
~”Thanks teddy bear, you’re amazing.” You choked at the nickname, so he can remember an embarrassing nickname but not that you’re married? This gas is really doing something to his brain.
~”Katsuki, you should get some more rest.”
~”What… noo…” He gruffly dragged the words “I’m fine, see I can even show you.” He proceeds to stand up from the bed, but you push him down.
~”No Katsuki, you need to rest, the gas is still in affect.”
~”I said I’m FINE! I’m not gonna let some shitty gas stop me!” He didn’t sound threatening in the slightest. “I’ll show everyone what made you fall for me.” He in turn grabbed your arm and pulled you close to him, so close that you felt his breath hit your face.
~”Katsukiii.” You whined in embarrassment. You’ll never get used to this, nor his compliments. They always make your heart flutter in giddiness as if you’re a high school girl all over again. You heard a knock at the door and someone came in.
~”Is everything alright in here? I heard shouting.” The nurse just a while ago asked. You went to answer that you’ve got everything handled, but Katsuki of course beat you to it.
~”Everything is fucking perfect when ever she’s around.” Katsuki gestured to you and pulled you by your arm to nuzzle you close.
~”Katsuki, not now!” You would’ve loved to have him nuzzle you but not in front of the nurse responsible for him, nor anyone outside your friends group for that matter. You blushed as you tried to get him to let go.
~”And why not! I have not got my kiss that I was damn well promised.” He argued back. You and the nurse were watching each other, while you desperately tried to explain everything happening with just your eyes. She looked amused from the whole situation and you wished you knew what she was thinking.
~”I’m glad to have you in my life.”
~”Katsuki! Shut it!” You exclaimed with a beet red face.
~”What!? You’re MY wife! I can compliment you if I feel like it!” He slurs as he points his finger in every which direction, his mind playing tricks on him as he wasn’t sure if you were next to him or flying in the air.
~”Katsukiii… stooop..” You mumbled while covering your face. Katsuki was talking more than he should and the nurse in the room was definitely getting a story to gossip about later… You are so going to have a flustered mess of a husband to deal with once he gets his mind straight.
~”I’ll come back later.” The nurse finally said with a smirk and left. You sighed out of relief, and Katsuki mistook it as you being down, so he pulled you closer against him.
~”I...I..Love youuu teddy bear…” He said sleepy. You smiled and uncovered your face to run your fingers through his spiky hair. He would never let you do this while outside the house, but now he was smiling like an idiot under your touch. Every Time he’s like this, you’ll deal with it because it’s so worth it.
“I love you too.”
are we gonna get a part two to "Delinquent affection"? If not can we get another rape/sexual assault comfort fanfic? Love the content you put out!
I’m not going to make a part two to my story Delinquent affection, as I think it doesn’t necessarily need a second part, but I might do similar stories with different characters.
