I think I'm a bit of Vampire, a bit of Archfey
Monster DMs
Archfey DMs: One of your adventures is at a masquerade. Has character voices and multiple-paragraph backstory for every NPC you meet. Rewards XP for flattery.
Dragon DMs: One of your party is going to die, absolutely. No character voices, only yelling. Loot is very, very good.
Goblin DMs: Going to throw gold coins at you when unsure what else to do. Encounters are twelve ¼ CR enemies. Most likely to have a NPC named after dicks.
Lich DMs: You thought were done with that storyline but not so fast. Don’t touch that, it’s probably cursed. Dry sense of humor.
Mimic DMs: Amazing voice range and skill. Dungeons feature multiple dead-ends. Plot of campaign stolen wholesale from stories they like.
Vampire DMs: Is going to use your backstory and make you regret it. Will let you seduce the villains. Ravenloft campaign.

I'd like to give a special fuck you to the person invoking Dachau. I've been there to visit, and seeing the barracks and the crematorium still affect me over 7 years later. No one was gassed at Dachau, the gas showers never worked and literal thousands of people still died there because of the conditions and the guards choosing to shoot someone just because.
The shit going on at these places are concentration camps. They're the Dachau of the modern times.

An Expert on Concentration Camps Says That’s Exactly What the U.S. Is Running at the Border (Jack Holmes, Esquire, Jun 13 2019)
“Not every concentration camp is a death camp—in fact, their primary purpose is rarely extermination, and never in the beginning.
Often, much of the death and suffering is a result of insufficient resources, overcrowding, and deteriorating conditions.
So far, 24 people have died in the custody of Immigration and Customs Enforcement under the Trump administration, while six children have died in the care of other agencies since September.
Systems like these have emerged across the world for well over 100 years, and they’ve been established by putative liberal democracies—as with Britain’s camps in South Africa during the Boer War—as well as authoritarian states like Nazi Germany or the Soviet Union.
Camps set up with one aim can be repurposed by new regimes, often with devastating consequences.
History is banging down the door this week with the news the Trump administration will use Fort Sill, an Oklahoma military base that was used to detain Japanese-Americans during World War II, to house 1,400 unaccompanied migrant children captured at the border. (…)
The government of the United States would never call the sprawling network of facilities now in use across many states “concentration camps,” of course.
They’re referred to as “federal migrant shelters” or “temporary shelters for unaccompanied minors” or “detainment facilities” or the like. (…)
But by Pitzer’s measure, the system at the southern border first set up by the Bill Clinton administration, built on by Barack Obama’s government, and brought into extreme and perilous new territory by Donald Trump and his allies does qualify.
Two historians who specialize in the area largely agree.”

Don’t forget the Blight.
I didn’t even use Cone of Cold at all.
ener-chi replied to your photo “Crag Linnorm Gargantuan dragon, chaotic evil Armor Class 20 (natural…”
how did they kill it in 3 rounds??
To be fair, a big part of them killing it was the half-orc paladin landing a critical hit and using a 3rd level smite to deal about 3d8 slashing damage and 10d8 radiant damage, which took off a very large chunk of hp. I can’t remember the exact amount of damage, but I think it was in the low 70′s. Plus the warlock landing synaptic static (from Xanathar’s Guide) for another 30-something chunk of damage, the paladin and Hunter ranger both landing a lot of other damaging hits. The party have an absolutely incredible amount of burst damage potential.

Also, Tempo is the general term for this in music. You can have 2 pieces with the same written Tempo like Allegro but different BPM. BPM is the specific value of the tempo. Allegro can fall under 120 BPM or 132 BPM, both are Allegro but different types of Allegro.
Y'all need to stop saying shit like “songs with the same bpm”
Beats per minute is a unit. The word you’re looking for is tempo.
If two songs have the same tempo, their bpm are equivalent.
You wouldn’t say two people of the same height have “the same inches.” You would say height. So stop saying two songs have “the same bpm” when you can just say tempo
I’m an assistant band director don’t argue with me

guidance dies and the ”keth has permission to loot my corpse for diamonds” clause of their friendship comes into effect
issafer and his can’t-be-put-to-sleep-ness for MVP, we literally all would have been fucked if he had been put to sleep too, i know this to be true because we forgot he couldn’t at first and were fucked until we remembered
guidance plays to her role and pumps MASSIVE amounts of healing into keth
tonight had a theme song, thanks to both unconsciousness and being Literally Killed:

Can I add:
4. Players looking at you and going “What the fuck?!?!?!” at a reveal.
My primary joys as DM:
Players going “woah, cool” to settings I designed
Players getting attached to NPCs I designed
Players roleplaying in-character arguments OR bonding moments

Hell’s Rebels Session 10
After a few weeks off due to scheduling conflicts, there was another session for the Hell’s Rebels game.
The party picked up from where they left off after killing a faceless stalker and tried to leave the scene as fast as they could. While they were travelling through the alleys around Old Kintargo, the barbarian and cleric spotted someone following them, although she was too far away to really get any details beyond a rough idea of their gender. The ranger and rogue double backed around to see if they could surround her, but when they arrived she was already gone.
They chose to stick to main thoroughfares on their route to the Lucky Bones. On their travels, they heard rumours of another murder in Old Kintargo and that it was the Silver Ravens who did it increasing their notoriety. With no other troubles, they arrived in the Lucky Bones and quickly found the old fireplace they were investigating the day before. Spending several minutes, they found a trapdoor in the fireplace that had a staircase leading downstairs. The downstairs, while very filthy, was still pretty stable and a door was on the other side of the room. While looking around the room, three young otyughs charged out of the filth and attacked the party. What was a surprisingly harrowing encounter, they eventually killed all three of them after both the barbarian and cleric were dropped unconscious through being grappled by the monster’s tentacles. The barbarian and cleric were also both diseased by the filthy creatures, which the cleric was able to cure with a healer’s kit and some time.
After the encounter, they looked around the room and found a silver comb that seemed to be pretty well made. Then, the ranger tried the door, which was both locked and trapped as a small needle shot out from the lock and injected a poison into her. Thankfully, she made the save to avoid being paralyzed for 10 minutes. After the rogue tried to pick the lock, the cleric remembered the key they found on the faceless stalker and tried it at the door, unlocking it without any issues. They followed the staircase behind the door deeper into the earth coming to a large room with doors lining the walls leading into small chambers. On the walls were skulls of insectoid creatures, which the cleric recognized as more symbols of Mahathallah. The party’s intrusion did not go unnoticed or well at all as 4 cultists left their chambers to attack the party. The ranger was quickly paralyzed by a hold person from one of the cultists, and the barbarian saved against another before the cleric dropped a silence spell in the middle of the room. The cultists, vastly weakened by their now inability to cast spells were quickly dropped. And that is where the session ended, with the party one room into the Lucky Bones, and apparently a cult has moved in since the Grey Spiders were destroyed.
