From Cabbage Town to North Toronto - Toronto Neighbourhoods Have Diversity
Since Toronto itself is a densely populated community the city centre will continue to be divided into codified neighbourhoods although each one will in turn include neighbourhoods. To adapt to new neighbourhoods, the city takes large areas such as Islington-City Center West, Waterfront Communities- divided them into smaller geographic blocks designed for equal population. Toronto officially ditched 16 of its old neighbourhoods and added 36 new ones as part of a major overhaul of its city boundaries.
On the Toronto city map you will also see areas such as York-Crossstown, the West End, Uptown, Midtown and downtown. Toronto is one of the most LGBTI-friendly cities in the world with the most excitement occurring in the Church and Wellesley areas east of Yonge on Church Street, between College and Bloor Sts.
The streets of Davisville are filled with residents of the Toronto area walking their dogs or relaxing in the small parks scattered around the neighborhood. Lawrence Park North is a popular neighborhood for wealthy families looking for easy access to the rest of Toronto. Located at the intersection of Yong Street and Eglinton Avenue, this downtown Toronto neighborhood is conveniently located for a quick trip around the city center - taking the Subway Line 1 and be there in 20 minutes.

The area in the west of Toronto is filled with delightfully quiet neighbourhoods, indigenous history and attractions that are not found elsewhere in the city. It is one of the most exclusive and attractive areas in the city, decorated with luxurious buildings, tree lined streets and prestigious private schools. It was once an industrial area but now it is one of the wealthiest areas of the city with high-end condominiums and beautiful homes.
Many areas in these areas were built as tram suburbs and contain many densely populated mixed-use streets. These surrounding cities look more like Toronto suburbs or large suburban cities than Toronto neighbourhoods per se. Some of the nearby cities are outside the official city boundaries of Toronto, but are part of the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).

It runs roughly parallel and halfway between Mayfield Road and Peel Regional Road 9 (King Street) to northwest of Snelgrove after the Chinguacousy Road and Highway 10 interchanges. To run northwest of Snelgrove to the junction between the Freeway and Freeway 400. It was originally designed as part of a freeway connecting the Niagara region with the Toronto suburb of Waughan.

Doug Ford said the proposed new 400 Series transit corridor would help transport people and goods to the Halton, Peel and York regions despite opposition from local authorities and environmentalists concerned about the impact of the projects. One of Ontario's controversial new highways, designed by Doug Ford's provincial government, will not be tolled. More Hyperbole Regarding Canada's Real Inflation Numbers
The drivers of Canada's scalding inflation appear to be more robust than expected but there are "good reasons to believe" they remain temporary, Bank of Canada Governor Tiff Maclem said Thursday. If it shifts its focus from reducing the economic downturn to containing inflation, the bank risks thwarting the current economic growth, potentially setting the stage for the next round of rate cuts.
The central bank's dilemma arises from a situation in which inflation is determined not so much by economic strength but by factors such as shortage of supply, which are beyond its control and can lead to longer price increases if inflation expectations rise. Tiff Maclem says the central bank generally expects inflation to increase 2% as the economy grows further.
The Bank of Canada, which is in charge of maintaining inflation, says that a sharp rise in prices should not be feared and largely reflects the economic recovery after a year of freezing and lower activity. In August, consumer price increases in Canada reached 4.1%, the highest since 2003, but politicians led by Governor Tiff Maclem say the increase is temporary.
The central bank said it expects inflation to remain around three percent over the next few months before falling over the course of the year. Economists predict the central bank will have to raise its inflation forecast higher after inflation averaged 4.1% in the third quarter compared with banks forecasts of 3.9%. However, if inflation rises longer than expected, the Bank of Canada could raise interest rates earlier than expected, said Philip Cross, senior economist at the MacDonald-Laurier Institute.

This vibrant area (now more Portuguese than Italian) is the spiritual home of the Toronto Italian community, which has largely migrated northwards through Bathurst Street and Ossington Avenue. The most recent initiative includes the Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot Project (RNIP), a community-led program which includes the five largest cities in Northern Ontario to increase immigration to these communities by creating permanent residence pathways for foreign skilled workers ( Government of Canada, 2020 ). A recent study by the Conference Council of Canada found that economic immigration programs tend to attract highly educated and highly skilled immigrants to Canada, but the pandemic has shown that the labor market also needs key workers.
A new BuildForce Canada report warns that the construction industry in Ontario will face a massive shortage of skilled labor over the next decade, and many construction projects will struggle to find the right workers. A new study released by the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC) last week reports that 64% of Canadian companies believe labor shortages are halting their growth.

Labor Secretary Monte McNaughton said the Ontario government is committed to proposing legislation that will help remove the main barriers immigrants face when looking for work in Ontario if the bill is passed.
The situation has deteriorated so much that Ontario Labor Minister Monte McNaughton said on Thursday that the federal government has asked him to double the number of immigrants in the province as part of a program designed to strengthen a skilled workforce. McNaughton would like this to double because of ongoing labor shortages that persist despite Ontario.
McNaughton says that he recently contacted the newly appointed federal Immigration Secretary Sean Fraser to ask him to increase the number of skilled workers admitted under the Ontario Immigrant Program, from 9,000 to 18,000 a year, he says. Canadian meat producers say that the shortage comes partly from rules regulating the number of temporary foreign workers that meat processing employers can hire at any time, and are lobbying the federal government to raise the current cap from 10 percent to 20 percent, depending on the enterprise up to 30 percent.
The organization says the impact of COVID-19 and the shortage of foreign workers have contributed to an increase in the number of job vacancies. McNaughton referred to a labor shortage in skilled occupations that will only increase as more workers retire. The Ottawa Health Service is "pleased with the Province's announcement today to expand eligibility for the third dose of COVID-19 vaccine," the health department told the newspaper by email. Ontario announced Wednesday that it was expanding eligibility for booster doses of the COVID-19 vaccine on Saturday, November 6, at 8:00 am. Toronto police have identified a 36-year-old man killed in one of eight shootings in the city this weekend. Police officers who found Donald Leroy "Smokey" Marson were killed in an apartment on Keel Street and Eglinton Avenue West on Saturday. About two hours before Smokey's murder,- Toronto police said a man was killed in Jane Street and Yorkwoods Gate, south of Finch Avenue. The victim was later identified as 28-year-old Kamal Daly.
This year in Toronto, 70 killings have been killed, 37 of which were shot and 13 wounded. The city will have around 86 murders this year in the next 10 weeks to 2021, making it the second-highest number since 2007.
According to the Toronto police this year 228 people were shot in the city, 308 people became victims of armed violence, including 29 people died. The Toronto Police Service Murder Tracker currently reports 71 murders in the city this year, 38 of which were shootings (35 of those shootings). According to the Toronto Police Public Security Data Portal the total number of firearms and gunshot cases stands at 350.
The police said the number of deaths this year was higher than the same period last year, when there were 205 shootings in Toronto and 299 people were victims of gun-related violence. Between 2013 and 2017, the total number of guns in Canada increased by more than 40%, most of which was attributed to events in Toronto. Great Idea! We need to keep homes in Toronto and Ontario in General Affordable! 
NDP MPPs Bhutila Karpoche (Parkdale-High Park), Jessica Bell (University-Rosedale), Joel Harden (Ottawa Centre) and Terence Kernaghan (London North Centre) have introduced a bill to stabilize rents and crack down on renovictions.
The MPPs’ co-sponsored Rent Stabilization Act: Pay What the Last Tenant Paid would make it illegal for landlords to raise the rent on new tenants beyond the legal limit. If passed, the legislation would stop rents from skyrocketing and end the current incentive for landlords to evict good tenants just so they can jack up the rent.
The MPPs held press conferences in their respective communities on Tuesday, joined by tenant groups and advocates.
“In cities like Toronto, Ottawa and London, it’s getting harder and harder for families and individuals to find an affordable place to rent,” Karpoche said. “If they are in an affordable unit, it is getting harder to keep it and not get evicted for bogus reasons.”
“People are being forced out of their neighborhoods, away from their support systems, because of rising rents,” Bell said. “They’re being renovicted by landlords looking for an excuse to get them out because they’re allowed to hike rents as much as they like in between tenants.”
Doug Ford ended rent control on all new units in 2018, leading to huge rent increases. The Liberals and Conservatives chose vacancy decontrol for Ontario – which means when one tenant leaves or is evicted, the landlord can raise the rent as much as they want for the next tenant. This contributes to Ontario’s skyrocketing rents and gives landlords an incentive to evict a tenant if they think they can get a higher rent price on the unit.
“The Liberals had 15 years to reign in the skyrocketing rental market, but chose not to, abandoning renters when they had the chance,” Harden said. “Without rent control in between tenants, Doug Ford is empowering landlords to evict people for little or no reason. He’s choosing a plan that causes the entire market to skyrocket.”
"The NDP wants to close the loopholes government after government have created that allow rents to go on skyrocketing,” said Kernaghan. “Doug Ford must pass our bill to stabilize rent, disincentive landlords from evicting or renovicting good tenants, and making it easier for people to find an affordable, decent place to call home.”
