Debunking all the reasons Charlastor is “wrong”

(and I’m going to be brutally honest because I’m tired of y’all’s bullshit)

“Alastor sees Charlie as his daughter!!” No the fuck he does not. He said that to get on Lucifer’s nerves. That’s it. Infantilizing Charlie—a grown ass woman—to make him appear as her father figure is the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen a fandom do, like ever.

“Charlie is a lesbian!” Correction; she’s bisexual. She likes women and men. Careful babes your biphobia is showing

“Charlie is with Vaggie!” So? I don’t care. I can ship her with whoever I want. Canon does not dictate what you ship and it’s getting ridiculous how people think otherwise

“Alastor is aroace!” He’s just ace. And ace people can be in relationships and believe it or not they can have sex. It’s not your place to define someone else’s asexuality. (Also it’s a bit sus how I never see anybody bring this up in any post about literally any other Alastor ship…)

This fandom does not give a fuck about age gaps because if they did, they wouldn’t be shipping Alastor or anyone else with Lucifer—who is older than the earth itself. Charlie has like maybe 100+ years on Alastor but he’s been dead for almost a century now and he died a full grown man so it really doesn’t matter

“He’s manipulating Charlie!” He’s manipulating everyone. That’s his whole personality. Why is it ok to ship him with other people but not his narrative parallel?

Charlie and Alastor, for me, really are a case of "right person, wrong time." I have never seen two characters so right for each other in the Hellaverse. I don't care what most of the fandom says, I will not ignore the insane chemistry they have. They are mirrors, they are foils, they are parallels, they are two opposite sides of the same coin and they are the spark to each other's growth. They could have been more but alas, canon dictates otherwise.

Made for each other but not meant to be.

Meet Irene Morningstar; daughter of Alastor and Charlie Morningstar!

A child born from royal and a sinner’s blood. Irene (pronounced i-reen-ie) Allison Morningstar is a hellborn demon with immense power and remarkable beauty. She aspires to be strong like her father and a leader like her mother, while also maintaining her own sense of individualism. Unlike her parents, she’s quiet and soft spoken, and hardly ever raises her voice. She does enjoy singing, but hardly when around other people. Don’t mistake her silence for timidness, though. Her confidence and charm is unmatched and her smile can light up a whole room. Don’t push her buttons, either. Like her mom and dad, when she’s angry…you better find somewhere to run!

As you can see I tried combining as much of Charlie and Alastor’s traits as I could, without it looking too chaotic and over-the-top. I’ve seen many talk of Charlie having goat ears and so I was torn on which kind of ears to give Irene. Ultimately I settled on deer ears that hang low like a goat’s. I also was going to give her antlers when it occurred to me that females don’t typical have them😅 Oh well, she’s got her daddy’s charm and poor eye sight to make up for it! She also has a hairstyle similar to Charlie’s from the pilot (I originally wanted to give her a cute braided bun, but I couldn’t figure out how to draw that with her bangs and ears😭) I also incorporated traits from her grandparents as well—such as Lilith’s nose color and Lucifer’s horns + eyes when she’s in her demon form!

Her design is subject to change later on. But as of right now I’m happy with how she turned out!

(Note to Charlastor antis and those RA shippers: this is a Charlastor kid. Deal with it. Do not steal her and try to pass her off as an RA kid. I will find out and I will come for your kneecaps. She is my character and if you don’t like her that’s not my problem!🖕)

IT’S HERE AT LAST!!!

After like six months of blood, sweat, tears (lots of tears) I finally wrote the next part of my Radiobelle fic!! Please give it a read as I worked really hard to give you guys the continuation you deserve! Your support means a lot to me!🩷🩷

Kinda hoping the Lucilith flashback references the way Charlie and Alastor met. So I imagined how the scene would go:

After being scorned for his dreams by his fellow angels, Lucifer flew down to Earth for a reprieve from them and had been enraptured by a sorrowful song, compelling him to find the source of these doleful notes and finds the first woman, Lilith, by her lonesome. She sings of her rebellion, refusing to bend to her destined spouse's will and yearns for her own autonomy and freedom with a saddened cadence.

The seraphim, perched on branches of a nearby tree, resonates with her words and wishes to know more and attempts to talk to her. "Hel-," but before he could fully blurt out his greeting, the branch under him broke and he plummeted to the ground at Lilith's feet, startling her.

Lucifer rights himself up, attempting to quickly recover from such an ungraceful fall and is nearly stunned silent by the beautiful yet suspicious stare of the first woman in front of him. He finishes weakly, "-lo."

She is wary of the angel in front of her, not saying a word in reply so Lucifer tries to diffuse the awkward situation. "Uh, I'm Lucifer Morningstar! One of the archangels who just got shunned by heaven for having wacky ideas, haha... So, I'm uh, taking a little break from their judgemental stares and, uh, may I sit here for a while? I-if that's okay by you?"

Still cautious of the strange being in front of her but slightly charmed by his weirdly adorable mannerisms, she stiffly says, "You may."

(The show would most likely never have their meeting go the nearly same way as their daughter and her hotelier did but it's nice to imagine, considering the show did unintentionally make Lucifer and Lilith have parallels with them.)

I agree that there's far more parallels between Charlie's parents and charlastor than the canon pairing. Charlie and Lucifer are both fairly fantastical, and while we know next to nothing about Lilith I cannot see her having more similarities with vaggie aside from being some sort of grounding force for her partner. And given that their separation likely stems from Lilith being disappointed in how Luci gave up hope on their people rather than try to empower them like she did; I can't see vaggie doing the same for Charlie. We saw in hello Rosie she'd sooner defer to Charlie while knowing she'd wallowing rather than try to do anything on her own. And I feel like I'm in the less vocal camp about this; I don't hate vaggie. I just think she's better matched with literally any other woman in the show rather than the one she has. As of right now post season 1 at least, I'll hold out hope that season 2 does them a bit better but given there's only 8 episodes I doubt it.

This is perhaps partially motivated by spite but since Lucifer still wears his ring; I want Lilith to come back and for those two to be so sickeningly in love that it's nauseating. I want full gomez and morticia vibes from them.

Alastor: well, I don’t care for presents, or people jumping out of nowhere and screaming “surprise!”

Alastor: the point of this exercise is to be completely honest with each other, is it not?

Charlie: well, thank you for telling me. I promise I won’t tell anyone else!

Alastor: I appreciate that, dear.

Charlie: wow that’s so funny. I never would’ve pegged you for a Pisces!

Alastor: you’re making it difficult to love you right now.
