Re: uzumaki. Apparently what happened was they replaced the whole crew after ep 1 and the lead director was replaced with a blacklisted director known for really bad and lazy work. The animators were outsourced twice as well, hence a dramatic drop in quality. Unknown yet why they did that, some assume because of the effort ep1 was and the studio didn't want that much budget. But yeah, an example of gross management apparently

It's a bummer tbh! Got nothing but appreciation for the people toiling over this project but whatever was happening throughout development was made clear with ep 2's drop in quality. Probably not as caught up on the situation as I could be, but sounds like the pandemic and the usual forces-that-be up on top just prevented the team being able to see the vision they were going for all the way through.

Disclaimer: I've been glazing uzumaki for like decade now but YES I loved it holy shit dude. I'm glad for every extra second they took to make it. I'll save my thoughts on the pacing and plot since at the time of writing this it's just the first episode that's out, but in terms of animation it's everything a junji ito adaptation should be. Not just the faithfulness to the style but the additions made possible by the medium (i.e. little extra details like kirie trying to rolling her eyes around to the physics of the scene where Azami spaghettifies a guy and then fucking implodes basically). Rotoscoped black and white horror anime adaptation you are everything to me...

Fairly often but it's alright it's a really uncommon spelling I think haha. I like giving my characters ironic names so I gave the possessed oc a Christmas-y name and the not-possessed oc after a character from the Exorcist which is why it's spelled like that. My in-universe explanation is that her name was actually meant to be Reagan but her dad forgot the first a on the birth certificate

i just wanna say that i got jumpscared when i saw that nat's name is renata because it's my actual irl name...... as a renata i also hate when people call me by my full name i feel it's such a grandma name and im glad there is a fictional character that seems to share this !!!!

i love your art btw, it's like that really hot tea that burns your tongue but it's so good you keep drinking instead of waiting for it to cool down
