THE SIMS 3 STORE PRE-INSTALLED

Today marks 25 years of The Sims. Since EA forgot TS3 exists, I’m releasing the entire The Sims 3 Store as an Anniversary Gift. It's all pre-installed and works flawlessly!

It comes with all available fixes and collection folders I’ve personally created for every set. You'll get over 5000 new Buy/Build and CAS items, 11 new worlds, and tons of new gameplay!

INSTRUCTIONS

Go to "Documents/Electronic Arts" and rename the "The Sims 3" folder (or move it).

Create a new folder and name it "The Sims 3" (or whatever the name is in your language).

Extract the contents of the ZIP file in "The Sims 3." Now launch the game.

You'll have to adjust your setting again. Don't forget to disable the in-game Store so you don't get duplicates.

Quit the game. Copy the "Saves" folder from the folder you have previously renamed. You can also copy your Mods and CC in package format.

CAUTION

Never copy over or overwrite the DCCache folder.

If you have content installed through the Launcher (Sims3Pack), you'll have to reinstall it.

I strongly recommend you don't install things through the Launcher from now. It already has a lot of content and it is a known fact the Launcher becomes more and more unstable the more content it has to handle.

Since the entire Store has been decrapified, if you want to install lots or world that contain Store content, you'll have to decrapify those too using MATY's TS3 Recompressor.

I had a report that there was an invisible top in CAS. It doesn't seem to have a CASP resource so it shouldn't cause any issues (like being assigned to a random Sim). It's best to avoid it or hide it or blacklist it using NRaas mods. Do NOT try to save the game while your Sim is "wearing" this invisible top.

UPDATE #1: MARCH 2025

Added some missing content: the Mother Russia CAS Set and the Cool Chap Cap that was given as a secret bonus item in the "Make Me an Offer" page. If there's something else missing, please let me now.

Now NRaas MasterController and the Cheats and Integration modules are included in the pack. This version NRaas MC comes with CAS Compact Mode enabled by default. This should fix the issue of blank/invisible CAS items and also speed up the loading of CAS items. Keep in mind, these mods aren't compatible with Lazy Duchess' Smooth Path, but you can have both. Her mod will automatically disable the fast loading of CAS items.

Hi, hello, howdy everyone!

I'm fulfilling the long overdue promise I made and finally created downloadable sound files!

I'll be uploading them on Google Drive as rar files starting with the first Assassin's Creed game. Due to limited storage, the file will be available for download until August 31st. On September 1st, the file will be removed and replaced with sound files from Assassin's Creed 2.

Again, thank you all for the love and support and patience over the years! Below are some info about the contents in the rar file:

Assassin's Creed 1 rar file contains 4 folders:

Music - Contains labeled songs from the game labeled with titles and contributing artist(s). Both official and unreleased tracks are found in this folder. Quick note: About 90% of the labeling was done by a follower that sent it here as a submission a while back. It looks like the follower deleted their blog along with the original file a while back, so I'm not sure who to credit. If you're still around and seeing this, thank you so much for your help. ❤

SFX - Labeled sound effects from the game. Kinda self-explanatory?

Voice Clips - Voice overs from the game that's been labeled, organized by prominent characters.

Unsorted - Unlabeled voice clips, SFX, and music that I never got through because I didn't have time or couldn't figure out who/what/where it's heard in the game. There's over 10k files with potential duplicate sounds.

Quick Q&A:

Are these files safe download? Yes! I had these files for over 10 years and it's been moved/transferred to several computers and hard drives. I believe Google Drive does virus scans before files are downloaded, so it should be fine.

How long will it take to download the file? Depends on your internet speed. The file is about 1.5 GB and took me roughly 5 minutes to upload it. Hopefully it'll take just as long to download it.

Why rar? I went with whatever file compressing/archive software I already had on this current computer (which happened to be WinRar).

Can you upload the file in a different format? I will if enough people report to me they're having issues with rar. I'll make a new post with a new link if that happens.

Which games will you be uploading? From AC1 all the way up to Odyssey, along with: Liberation, Freedom Cry, and Chronicles.

Will you post things from Valhalla, Mirage, and/or Shadows? Unfortunately, no. I stopped playing after Odyssey so I don't have anything from those games.

You can also right-click the shimeji to bring up a context menu, there you can set a desired behavior you wish to see from him.

If you want more controlled settings, such as if you want to prevent him from duplicating, go to the tray icon of Louise cat's head and right-click from there.

Cyberpunk 2077 - Oda Cyber-Ninja Set (Sims 4 cc)

This set includes the following Cyberpunk 2077 Conversions: 🐱‍👤 Oda's mask with light emission (hat category):

2 variations with and without hood. One is Oda's mask with Arasaka logo with glowing red emission. The other is a plain cyber-ninja mask with no logo and with white light emission in all colours (I couldn't have different coloured emissions in one package so chose white as neutral for the glow). The without hood one is for if you wanna use it with a different or no top, the hood one is only for the jacket version since it looks weird on its own.

Includes a swatch with all the logos for Oda, and then a lot of plain no logo swatches with coloured buckle detail in all colours. 🐱‍👤Oda's Cyber-ninja pants + shoes (see above picture, pants category): 2 swatches, with logos and plain. Oda's one has arasaka logo (you can't see with the jacket) glows red and all the colours that glow white, matching the mask and the jacket. The glows are synced. I got explicit permission by hamster to modify the uvs for some things (just so the arasaka logo on oda's one is not backwards lol), but I cloned their package/mesh, so please download the original too to not cause any issues like it missing. 🐱‍👤Info, and Issues: -Has normal and specular maps. - Pants are a bit stretching weird between the legs, I couldn't fix it. You see it when sim separates the legs. I think I accidentally merged it somewhere during the process. Sorry - Blurry logos (not all just some). I didn't have any uv space left, and I don't know how to do transparent decal meshes for cas. So i just put them in the texture image and therefore they're a bit blurry on areas where the texture was small. - Textures are hq but I don't play with that mods so no idea if it made a difference. - HIGH POLY, especially the clothing and the jacket. Be mindful of use if you have a crusty laptop that struggles with sims 4 :( I tried my best to optimise the mesh but it is just a very complex outfit and that is after deleting tons of details and things. In my game it runs fine, so hopefully should be ok. - The hood version doesn't perfectly align with jacket where the fabric connected, since I made the hood a separate hat, but you can't tell much. - Cloned package for helmet from Battuu for emission to work, but it shouldn't require this pack since I imported all Lods and textures. I tested without the pack and it appears. However it won't appear if you use the filters, so just find it in the menu with no filters. hey hi hello, not to upset or frighten anyone, but if you're an american with student loans and access to studentaid.gov, i highly recommend you screenshot and download everything available.

put all the screenshots and downloads into a folder. right click and duplicate the folder. store the copies in different places, for example, one in google drive and the other on a physical external hard drive.

it doesn't matter if you are making payments or not. if they succeed in shuttering or gutting the department of education, you don't want some asshole trying to shake you down in the next decade.

This is third lot for a collab for a New Orlean themed town. It's good filler I'd say. It doesn't have a lot of stuff inside, but it's not empty too. Rooms in this row of buildings aren't big, so it wasn't hard to furnish it. Initially it got label "restaurant +" and I could add whatever I wanted. So there's playroom for kids, and small corner for pets, but more about that behind the spoiler.

If anyone would like to use, then it's on the exchange as simpack and google drive as package. Lot is sized 20x60.

Restaurant looks like this, it has food register since on near lots other people used sweet treat register and I didn't want to duplicate it again.

Room for pets contains just a few toy boxes, wall bird, cat house and small pet bed.

On the second floor there are some table games and view on palm house. I had to crash one wall tile on each level, because bay window from Supernatural was not giving light at all, so the palm house is treated by game as open air.

In the middle there is green square:

the brick building was supposed to be demolished, but it was turned into a garden without roof

in the basement there are only bathrooms. The beige one is under playroom, there's enough place to add changing table.

PSDs For Dummies <3

hello dear readers and welcome back to canarysage, the world’s least comprehensive tutorial blog. today, we’re back at it again with photopea for dummies, and we’re tackling something i probably should have done first: psds.

what is a psd?

excellent question, dear reader! psd stands for photoshop document, and it’s a type of file format (like .png or .gif) that allows you to store a project’s individual layers! it’s a file format that, for obvious reasons, is exclusive to photoshop and photopea.

in editing circles, psd has become shorthand for filter. people use psds to save configurations of adjustment layers that are then used to filter images consistently, without having to remake them every time. when someone posts a psd, they’re posting a folder (hopefully it’s in a folder) with their specific set of adjustment layers for anyone to use!

where can i get psds?

right here on tumblr! check your favorite edit blogs, as they may have posted some, or search ‘free psd’ or ‘psd coloring’ in the search function. tumblr doesn’t allow you to upload psds directly, so you’ll be redirected to a site outside tumblr. probably either deviantart, google drive, or ko-fi, all of which are easy to use. deviantart requires you to have an account to download anything (luckily, an account is free!) and ko-fi may require you to pay money. google drive doesn’t have a search function in and of itself, but it’s extremely easy to download off of.

also, shameless self plug, but i post psds right here on canarysage! i personally use deviantart, but again, an account is free. if send me an ask, i may be able to provide you with a google drive link, if you ask really nicely (｡•̀ᴗ-)✧

and of course if you don’t want to use someone else’s psd, you can always make your own.

how do i use a psd?

once you have a psd of your choice downloaded, open up photopea! or photoshop, if you’re rich like that.

once you open photopea, click this here button right in the middle of the screen, the one that says “open from computer”

from there, go to choose files and open up your psd! depending on from whom you got it, psds will look different once you open them. i’m using one of my own as an example.

you can see there’s two layers in my psd, a folder, and an image. the image is just for me so i know which psd this is once i save it—i like to save all my psds with images of real people so i know how it looks on moodboards or stimboards.

the folder is the important part here, that’s where the adjustment layers are contained. to transfer a psd, you can either go to file > new

which lets you start an entirely new project, or you can open an image using file > open

which will give you the image you selected.

as an aside, if you’re opening a psd and you already have a project in progress, make sure to click file > open and not file > open & place, as open & place won’t give you the adjustment layers.

then to move the folder, go to layer > duplicate layer into while having selected the folder (just tap on it, that will make it a lighter gray to show it’s selected) and duplicate the folder into whatever your image is

i’m moving mine to a random image of honami i found which is why it’s named like that. once the folder’s duplicated into your project, go over and take a look!

you should now see something like this! ensure that the folder is on top, as otherwise the adjustment layers won’t work.

here’s the difference between the unfiltered image and the image with my psd!

to save images in photopea (like i did just now) go to file > export as > (your preferred file format)

which will pull up something like this

i recommend either saving as a png (for still images) or as a gif (for… gifs) but that’s up to you! in order to save a psd, go to file > save as psd! that will save your project to your device

bear in mind that tumblr doesn’t accept psds as a file format, so if you’re going to post an edit, you have to save it as something else. also, don’t just save other people’s psds and claim them as your own—psds take a lot of time, effort, and skill, like any other art form.

can i make my own psds?

100% yes! i can’t give you a step-by-step process unfortunately, as there really is no one way to make psds. i recommend familiarizing yourself with adjustment layer and seeing what works.

basically, i like to think of adjustment layers as a few different categories. light/darkness adjustments (ie: brightness/contrast, levels, curves, exposure, black & white, and threshold to a certain extent.) saturation adjustments (vibrance, hue/saturation.) color adjustments (hue/saturation, color balance, photo filter, channel mixer, selective color, gradient map depending on how you use it, and replace color.) and also, miscellaneous (posterize, which gives your images a pop-art crunchy kind of effect, invert, which… inverts your colors, and color lookup, which is a set of filters unto itself)

how you utilize adjustment layers is up to you! i personally like to use a variety and see what happens, my personal favorites being channel mixer, photo filter, and hue/saturation. you can also utilize blending modes (shameless self plug again,) or opacity.

if you have no idea where to start, you can look at other people’s psds to see their process. don’t copy or steal, for obvious reasons, but you can toggle layers on and off and see what happens and what each layer does.

making psds isn’t as intimidating as it sounds, you just have to start a project and start creating! it gets really fun once you get the hang of it (*'▽'*)

i don’t edit with photoshop or photopea, can i still use psds?

short answer: nope!

long answer: if you want use psds but you’re super used to ibis paint or whatever you currently use, have no fear! you don’t have to switch all your editing to photopea. you can make your main project in ibis or whatever as normal, then upload it to photopea and add a psd.

you can also make perfectly fine filters in ibis paint in your own right, with enough tweaking. there’s also apps such as polarr and picsart which come with filters, but i’ve never used them so i’m unable to vouch for how they work.

do i need to use psds when editing?

nope! psds are 100% optional. they’re a style like anything else—some people prefer them and some people don’t. it’s up to you.

did you genuinely write 1178 words answering questions no one asked?

Post-acquisition, dir a proper, dedicated ad sales team ever get hired for Tumblr? Not something shared between other a8c properties but a group of people who knew Tumblr's uniquely weird culture and could work with brands to craft the kinds of ads that were highly effective on Tumblr before we got bought by Verizon.

Yes, with some great people who had worked on Tumblr before and also been part of successful teams at Twitter, Reddit, etc. I think at one point this was a 20+ person team. However it didn't work. We still have dedicated direct, but programatic drives the vast majority of the advertising revenue. My best guesses for why:

The advertising world has changed quite a bit from Tumblr's peak.

Tumblr had declining traffic for a while, which doesn't excite advertisers. (It's now growing again.)

Custom campaigns were too different for advertisers to spend a lot of time on them, they were long and expensive to implement.

Often advertisers were attacked by the user base, in targeted harassment. Really gross, horrible stuff. Terrible brand experience.

Advertising in general with ATT, cookie changes, etc has changed in a way that mostly strengthens the duopoly of Google and Meta, makes it incredibly hard for independent networks to compete.

On the bright side, self-serve advertising with Blaze has gone well, we can re-use the tooling across Tumblr, WooCommerce, and WordPress, it's faster and preserves privacy better than third-party networks, and there's a ton of demand particularly on the ecommerce side of things. So that group is actually being promoted to its own thing that will sit in parallel to Tumblr, vs being under it.

I think there could also be something that would more easily allow advertisers to duplicate campaigns they're already running elsewhere, with similar formats, that would raise the quality of ads we're able to run by making it easy for advertisers to shift a few % of their budget away from Twitter/etc to places they want to support more, more aligned with their brand and values, which Tumblr and its focus on art and artists is.

I've decided to share this very minimalistic template I have made for somebody who didn't end up using it. It comes with a white background & simple fonts.

It includes a home screen, guidelines, multi-character overview, a single-character page (you can duplicate) & locations. Feel free to edit them to your liking.

Here it is! My archive of over 100 images related to the soon-to-be-extinct Dinosaur/Countdown to Extinction attraction at Disney's Animal Kingdom. I understand that they may not be the highest quality, and that there are some near-duplicates, but hopefully fans of the ride and fellow bloggers will find these helpful for remembering and digitally preserving their favorite attraction. I did try to get some things I thought might otherwise not be recorded, like floor/ceiling/wall textures and switchback dividers--I know from experience that "mundane" things like that are often overlooked.
