By Mr. Fluffernutter One fine morning in the Great Meadow, where the air was crisp and the scent of clover danced in the breeze, Mr. Fluffernutter, the ever-curious bunny detective, was enjoying a delightful nibble on a fresh carrot when the Great Meadow Council called an emergency meeting. News had spread of a powerful leader’s bold declaration: a grand plan to take over a distant land,…

Trump openly talking about “redeveloping” the area in gaza where thousands of people were killed via genocide into what he calls “the riviera of the Middle East” is just……. It’s too ghoulish to even think about for too long. Building luxury apartments on the coast on land where tens of thoudands were bombed to death and over a million were forced to leave their home

President Donald Trump is facing criticism after posting a bizarre video showing a potential future for Gaza themed to himself.
Trump has said the United States would take “ownership” in Gaza, oversee its redevelopment, and transform it into “the Riviera of the Middle East.”

It gets even worse
“I don’t think people should be going back,” Trump said. “You can’t live in Gaza right now. I think we need another location. I think it should be a location that’s going to make people happy.”
Trump said the U.S. would take ownership of the Gaza Strip and redevelop it after Palestinians are resettled elsewhere and turn the territory into “the Riviera of the Middle East” in which the “world’s people”— including Palestinians — would live.
“We’ll make sure that it’s done world class,” Trump said. “It’ll be wonderful for the people--Palestinians, Palestinians mostly, we’re talking about.”
Egypt, Jordan and other U.S. allies in the Mideast have cautioned Trump that relocating Palestinians from Gaza would threaten Mideast stability, risk expanding the conflict and undermine a decades-long push by the U.S. and allies for a two-state solution.

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Although Americans remain more likely to say their sympathies in the Middle East situation are with the Israelis rather than the Palestinians, the 46% expressing support for Israel is the lowest in 25 years of Gallup’s annual tracking of this measure on its World Affairs survey. The previous 51% low point in this trend of Americans’ sympathy for Israelis was recorded both last year and in 2001.
At the same time, the 33% of U.S. adults who now say they sympathize with the Palestinians is up six percentage points from last year and the highest reading by two points.
The latest reading is from a Gallup poll conducted Feb. 3-16, during which the temporary ceasefire and hostage exchange between Israel and Hamas that started in mid-January continued. The poll began one day before Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s White House visit that included a joint press conference with President Donald Trump. During that press event on Feb. 4, Trump expressed his intent for the U.S. to own and redevelop the Gaza Strip.
The February poll also finds that 40% of U.S adults approve of Trump’s handling of the situation between the Israelis and Palestinians, which trails his overall job approval rating of 45%. Partisans are sharply divided in their job ratings of Trump, and they also hold different views of Israel and the Palestinian Territories. Republicans are much more likely than Democrats to view Israel favorably (83% vs. 33%, respectively), while Democrats view the Palestinian Territories more favorably than Republicans do (45% vs. 18%).

Tell me again how Kamala would have been the same on Palestine!
WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump suggested that displaced Palestinians in Gaza be permanently resettled outside the war-torn territory and proposed the U.S. take “ownership” in redeveloping the area into “the Riviera of the Middle East.”
“The U.S. will take over the Gaza Strip, and we will do a job with it too,” Trump said at an evening news conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu by his side. The president who made his name as a New York real estate developer added: “We’ll make sure that it’s done world-class. It’ll be wonderful for the people — Palestinians, Palestinians mostly, we’re talking about.”
Trump, in an interview with Fox News’ Bret Baier airing Monday, said “No, they wouldn’t” when asked if Palestinians in Gaza would have a right to return to the territory.
“We’ll build safe communities, a little bit away from where they are, where all of this danger is,” Trump said. “In the meantime, I would own this. Think of it as a real estate development for the future. It would be a beautiful piece of land. No big money spent.”
Do y'all really not see an ocean of difference between the mild criticism but continued funding from Biden and Harris and this frothing imperialist monster!? I know this isn't really the time for infighting anymore and it wasn't just online leftists not voting that caused this, but it sure didn't help and it's aggravating to still see these idiots acting like they had some kind of moral high ground! We told y'all what would happen! Kamala wouldn't be talking about (or actually doing) an invasion of Palestine and forced removal by the US! It was still bad but it wasn't and wouldn't have been All This!

So I haven't posted on the Gaza-Israel war on here so far, and I'm unlikely to do so in the future, but US politics have made occasional appearances
A few excerpts from the article:
US President Donald Trump proposed taking ownership of the Gaza Strip and redeveloping it, after saying earlier that Palestinians should move out of the region.
"The US will take over the Gaza Strip and we will do a job with it too," Trump said on Tuesday during a joint conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. [...]
The US president has previously said that neighbouring nations could take in displaced Palestinians from Gaza - a proposal that was rejected by Arab nations. Asked about the idea, Trump said that he envisions "a long-term ownership position."
[... ] "This could be the Riviera of the Middle East," Trump said.
I'm not going to comment much, since the article pretty much speaks for itself, but the technical term for removing a population of an area is one you should be familiar with.
Ethnic Cleansing.
And just as one small note from a non-USian, to all the Americans on here who didn't vote Democrat last November because of Gaza, I hope you're happy with your decision.

President Donald Trump shocked many critics over the weekend when he suggested what amounts to an ethnic cleansing operation of removing Palestinians completely out of their homes in Gaza.
. . .
He then points to comments that Kushner has made in the past about potential development projects in Gaza that could be accomplished if Palestinians are kicked off the land."In a February 15, 2024, interview at Harvard's Middle East Initiative, Kushner described Gaza's 'waterfront property' as 'very valuable,'" observes Legum. "Kushner said Israel should seek to 'move people out' and then 'clean it up.' Further, Kushner said that the United States should pursue 'diplomacy' with Egypt to convince them to accept more Palestinians. He also indicated Jordan should accept Palestinian refugees, noting that Jordan had accepted Syrian refugees."
This interview mirrors the exact same measures that Trump took over the weekend when he pushed for Egypt and Jordan to take more Palestinian refugees from Gaza.
Additionally, Trump has in the past echoed Kushner's comments about Gaza having prime waterfront property that's ripe for development.
This leads Legum to conclude that "if Palestinians are removed from Gaza and the land is absorbed by Israel, both Kushner and Trump could benefit financially from its redevelopment."

In a joint press conference with Israel Apartheid State PM Benjamin Netanyahu on February 5th, US “President” Donald Trump proposed a plan to permit acts of ethnic cleansing by clearing out the occupied Gaza Strip of Palestinians and redevelop it to become the “Riviera of the Middle East.” Gaza is one of the Palestinian territories illegally occupied by Israel, along with the West Bank and East Jerusalem. [...] This genocidal proposal by Trump to expel Palestinians from Gaza is an act of ethnic cleansing and a moral atrocity that should be condemned by all decent-minded folk.
My latest on Substack: Donald Trump’s proposal to redevelop occupied Gaza to become the “Riviera of the Middle East” by forcing Palestinians out is an act of ethnic cleansing and a 2nd Nakba.

Trump says US will take over Gaza Strip during news conference with Netanyahu
President Donald Trump met Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House on Tuesday as the first foreign leader to visit in Trump’s second term.
During the joint news conference, Trump said he wants the U.S. to take ownership of the Gaza Strip and redevelop it after Palestinians are resettled elsewhere. "We will own it and be responsible for dismantling all of the dangerous unexploded bombs and other weapons on the site," Trump said a start of a joint news conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Trump added the U.S. would level destroyed buildings and "create an economic development that will supply unlimited numbers of jobs and housing for the people of the area." Netanyahu also praised Trump's leadership in sealing the hostage and ceasefire deal, which went into effect the day before Trump took office.
Hamas' response to Trump's proposal
Senior Hamas officials call Trump's proposal for Gazans to relocate from the Gaza Strip "racist" and "a move that could lead to chaos and tension in the Middle East."
Izzat al-Rishq, a member of the leadership of Hamas, on Tuesday blasted statements by US President Donald Trump supporting the migration of residents from the Gaza Strip. In an interview with Hamas’ Al-Aqsa TV, Rishq labeled Trump's call for residents of Gaza to leave their homeland under the pretext of rehabilitating the Strip as "racist" and "an overt attempt to eliminate the Palestinian issue and renounce the national rights of the Palestinian people." "Our people in Gaza have thwarted the plans for migration and expulsion under bombardment for over 15 months, and they are rooted in their land and will never agree to any plan aimed at uprooting them from their roots," claimed Rishq.
Hamas official says terror group ready for talks with Trump administration
Palestinian terror group Hamas is ready to establish contact and hold talks with the administration of US President Donald Trump, Russia’s RIA state news agency cites a senior Hamas official as saying.
“We are ready for contact and talks with the Trump administration,” RIA cites senior Hamas Politburo member Mousa Abu Marzouk as saying. “In the past, we did not object to contacts with the administration of [former US president Joe] Biden, Trump or any other US administration, and we are open to talks with all international parties.”
Saudi Arabia says its position on establishing Palestinian state is firm
Saudi Arabia will not establish ties with Israel without the establishment of a Palestinian state, the foreign ministry said in a statement, reaffirming that the kingdom's stance is firm and unwavering.
Trump signs order reimposing ‘maximum pressure’ on Iran
Directive instructs US Treasury to apply and enforce sanctions against Tehran, including an effort to ‘drive Iran’s oil exports to zero’
US President Donald Trump on Tuesday restored his “maximum pressure” campaign on Iran that includes efforts to drive its oil exports down to zero in order to stop Tehran from obtaining a nuclear weapon. The move brings back the tough US policy on Iran that Trump practiced throughout his first term. Trump has accused his Democratic predecessor, former president Joe Biden, of weakening US resolve toward Iran. Trump signed the presidential memorandum reimposing Washington’s tough policy on Iran ahead of his meeting with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu

“President Donald Trump says he wants the U.S. to take ownership of the Gaza Strip and redevelop it after Palestinians are resettled elsewhere. He made the remarks in a joint press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Earlier today, Trump’s Middle East envoy said that a three to five-year timeline for the reconstruction of Gaza is not a viable post-war plan for the battle-torn territory.”

What factions do you headcanon exist post-Tragedy? There's the Future Foundation, Towa City, and the various Despairs, but I don't see anything else about how societies exists in the DanganRonpa-verse, especially with their whole fascination on the semi-supernatural Talent that sorta caused the Tragedy in the first place.
I don’t have exact factions (Mainly because I was a child in 2012, the year THH takes place), but I do have general ideas of what might some factions look like, and what generally said cliques that rose from the collapse would act towards junko. Also headcanons for how some areas might collapse and redevelop.
1.Islamists would be very present in the Middle East. That era was around the peak of ISIS, and I think the tragedy increasing radicalization would only make that worse. Speaking of religious radicalization….
2. The American right-wing “tea party” faction, would be a heavy presence in the former United States. Their cliques would vary from corporatism to outright religious theocracies. Heck, junko’s influence could’ve fanned their flames into facism, being the way the union collapsed in this timeline, akin to the US today.
3. The absolute monarchies collapse. All of them are prevalent on a central figure, ones that I have no doubt Junko would get their entire lines killed to force conflict. This would be a definite way to get an opening through infighting in Saudi Arabia and the gulf states. This also applies to NK and similar regimes.
4.Africa’s borders would be nearly completely redrawn. With the primary motivation for the borders being nobody wanting to move colonial borders, the collapse of Europe would make these borders obsolete. Whatever ethnic tension came up would fracture the post colonial states not only de jure, but de facto.
5.Any multiethnic states are almost completely rended apart. Whether it be one breakaway, or outright collapse, nations like Indonesia, Malaysia, and India would face ethnic violence.
6.Everyone gets a trade shock. The entire model of globalism in the 2010’s would be the equivalent of MAD, one junko would exploit. States like the oil states and Singapore would be hit the hardest, while states with notable sanctions (Iran,Cuba) would ironically be spared from this, although their governments would go through some things.
7.The states aligned with despair have levels in how bad they are. You have cliques who allied with despair out of convenience, and you have 77-B controlled states like Novoselic. Their brutality would vary between, although still be bad, considering the worldwide warlord era. When junko died, many of the less extreme cliques would either have their leaders commit suicide, turned to her side fully, and have less extreme people take over, or outright purge their despairite influence best they could. These states would be accepted back into the world community, to the FF chagrin.
8.There would be a notable split after everything settled somewhat. The FF would face heavy opposition from a myriad of groups, the most notable most likely being of some leftist variety, considering the oligarchic and unequal ideas of innate talent. I could see the FF contesting the very archipelago of Japan with the Japanese Communist Party. Even after post-DR3, where Makoto would definitely want to reconcile with the left, they wouldn’t be very trusting of the FF’s intentions.
9. A ton of city states. Whether they split off from a greater entity, or were forcefully ejected like Singapore, I’d expect for a lot of nations to fracture down to the city at some places.
10.And as my last one, it’s more about how the tragedy (or collapse, as it would probably be known) would be viewed. I’d say the Arab spring would be inherently tied to it, due to similar ways of organizing and wanting to overthrow established regimes. Heck, I could see more reactionary people arguing that the collapse did not begin with the tragedy, but the popular overthrow of the government of Tunisia.
Again, these are just my thoughts on the whole thing, so it’s really up to you.
