Hi, love.
How are you doing? Still dreaming about your dream life? Having a 'glow-up' just to give up the other day? Still looking for those results every day? I know you do. You know you do. Stop lying.
You know what you have to do. You have to take action and be disciplined. But you'll never be able to do that if you don't change your perspective.
I want you to read till the end because this is a big deal.
Maybe you've been exercising for a while, but your six packs are kinda lazy and just don't wanna come out. Maybe you've been studying Spanish every day, but the language seems more difficult as each day passes. Whatever you're doing, you're not seeing any results.
And that's why you can't have the results as your "why". Because if you do, you'll give up.
You see, those results aren't scheduled. No one can tell you "if you do 20 sit ups a day you'll have visible abs in 4 weeks bro". No that's not how it works. It may take you 3 months to see the results. Sometimes even longer.
And here's what you have to do.
You have to put your poker face on and exercise for your health. Learn Spanish because you want to be able to understand your favourite grandma. Eat healthy for your gut. To feel good. Energized. Smart. And as sad as it is, being smart, energized and happy…those things often can't be seen. Only felt.
Now let's think about the long term results. Okay. You might not get fluent in Spanish for another 6 months. But. If you won't give up, think about how you'll speak after 3 years. 4 years. If you watch YT videos about socializing and talking to people every day, you won't become Barack Obama in a year. But after five years of trial and error, I bet you'll be a charismatic speaker.
Every time you feel like giving up, remember that every action, no matter how small, adds to your success. Even if it might not seem so. That's why it's called "trusting the process".
Ok. Back to your "why". I'll tell you a secret:
Once you start putting in the work and believing in yourself, you will forget about the results. If you start eating healthy and walking more, I promise you. In a week you'll have a better body image. If you start learning coding right now, in a week you'll still be bad at it, but your confidence in your skills will change for sure. Improving ourselves actually makes us feel good. In the "ok I am doing something with my life" kind of good. You will feel better if you try and fail than if you think about what could have happened if only you had the courage to start.

I think that everyone is soooo unnecessarily glamorized in the fanarts
It wouldn't be a problem if people wouldn't hate everybody who draws less "standart hot" versions of characters. I'm only familiar enough with mdzs lore so this is primarily about it; but the other danmei fanart is also the same.
People are bringing up "realism" as an excuse to draw literally every male character as a hot ripped dude with 2 meter shoulders and 6 abs pack. Like, realistically it's not that! They are not bodybuilders, they are warriors and for warrior looks don't matter as much as the actual physique. Of course they are fit and strong but the rogue cultivators don't have that much food to build huge muscles; sect leaders do smth like paperwork most of the time and don't exercise that much; Wei Wuxian of Yiling Patriarch era is literally malnourished! And ppl have the audacity to draw Nie Huaisang (whose important character trait is that he avoids any physical exercise and weapon practice and uses his brain instead) as muscular and proceed to be mad at any fanart which depicts him differently
I'm not salty I promise I'm just tired of my *native language* side of fandom making fun of somebody "looking fat/too skinny" on the fanarts when that somebody is literally just Not The Generic Hot Anime Dorito Guy" Image

I hate that they gave desert Ike a tummy window.
I hate defined abs on character art in general, bc as far as I understand it, abdominal muscles are only very visible when a character is either tensing their stomach muscles and/or is severely dehydrated.
But even to get to that point, it requires a lot of exercises designed to burn the fat specifically around the stomach, which is both difficult and not particularly useful when it comes to building overall body strength. In short terms, it’s a lot of effort for an entirely aesthetic result.
However, apparently enough people find it attractive that FEH apparently cannot have a single shirtless male character go without those high-definition tic-tac-toe squares on their tummies.
(Who genuinely finds 6-packs attractive? Is it the same people who salivate over the art of girls with big balloon boobs that defy gravity?)
But putting all of that aside, why the sheer fabric tummy window?
For those unaware, THIS is what I am talking about:

It’s not just that his stomach is bare. It is covered, but in thin, skin-tight, see-through fabric.
I would understand putting Ike in just the crop-top. I could rationalize that as him trying out Sothe’s signature style. Or, perhaps, him sympathizing with the over-sexualized female characters on this ridiculous banner.
But why this?
What is this for? It is not covering anything. It will not protect his skin from the sun. It certainly will not prevent him from getting stabbed.
What purpose does it serve? To make his middle torso look more attractive??
Why the fuck would Ike wear this? He would find it utterly ridiculous and pointless, and what a waste of a piece of clothing, if it doesn’t even DO anything useful for him.
It’s just absurd. They really want me to believe that 1. Spicy-meat dish and habitual nap lover Ike would have a defined 6-pack and 2. That he would agree to put on a piece of clothing that serves no practical function?
Preposterous.
At least they gave him an extra headband to catch all the perspiration he’ll be exuding with his predominantly black outfit.
(They do know that black/dark colors absorb heat and light, right?)

When he notices you watching him he snaps his mouth shut and swallows “y-you’re v-very ripped, c-cool.” He scratches his head and turns his face away from you but you can see the creeping redness spreading throughout his cheeks and up his ears.

My fucking god you are so right about the jacked nerds thing. Like Beckett, who looks like he hits the barbells for his workout routine despite being a yoga guy. And for the life of me I will NEVER understand why Aiden- a guy who starts out being very hard-focused on his music- and Ajay- a guy who literally says straight up that he hates physical exercise- have very defined washboard 6-packs, meanwhile Caleb- an LI from the same series who is a literal full-time jock- is as flat as a surfboard. I know some guys can be naturally buff from genetics or a good diet but it still seems so far-fetched to me.
Hell, even as someone who absolutely adores Aiden, I just cringed so hard whenever any characters had to mention how muscular he was (which was only in two moments ever, but still). Like, we get it PB, Aiden has sCuLpTeD aBs- so does every single male LI in your whole app.

WHAT ARE ABS?
Abs basically means muscles in our abdomen. Our abdomen consists of small muscles running vertically on each side. In every human & also in some mammals those muscles do exist.
We all have ABS under our skin but to see those muscles clearly depends on many factors. There is no such thing as upper or lower abs just Rectus Abdominal Muscle, that's it.
WHY ARE ABS NOT VISIBLE?
The biggest question that everyone has in their mind. Why are abs not visible that easily?
See, visibility of abs is not that difficult but on the other hand it’s not that easy too. If you want anything in life you need to make some sacrifices. This goes for everything that you want in life. You do have to pay a price to get what you want. Now, in case of ABS, it's "COMFORT", this is what you have to compromise with.
If you can sacrifice comfort to get ABS, than it isn’t goanna be difficult job for you.
Now, let's talk with science. ABS are present under our skin in the form of muscles. But thicker the skin, lesser the visibility of your abdomen muscle. As simple as that. All you have to work on your skin or flesh that is present over your muscle.
10 PACK ABS?
Yes, 10 pack abs are definitely possible. The structuring of muscle depends person to person. It's not necessary that everybody can have 10 pack abs (abdomen muscle) visible. Not everyone has Rectus Abdominals muscles equally. Some people can only make their 4 pack visible, some can make 6, and some can make 8 & some even 10.
So, that depends on structuring of a person. You need to understand your body structure. As in how many packs can be clearly visible.
No matter how many exercises you do or how differently you do. You can't get what is not present in your abdomen.
So stop wasting time & start listening to your body & also start understanding your physique.
12 PACK ABS?
For some people yes, it is definitely possible. Like i said it all depends on structuring of your body. There are some people with 12 pack abs but that doesn't mean it's possible for everyone. NO, it's not.
