This is what I have for that assignment I mentioned earlier. I think I got all this done is roughly four hours?? It needs a LOT more work, but I really wanted to show you guys what I had done! :D

With all of the comparisons of joels wild life skin to skizz pre ep1 and then the reveal of the fast and furious bit ive connected some dots that arent connected

Hear me out, joel is modeling himself after a man with a friends are family and family is everything mentality to hopefully make and maintain friendships (which makes me insane btw) and he just so happens to look like mr loyal himself skizzleman

Like we know the meta of dom toretto n stuff but in universe mayhaps there was a subconscious (or concious but hed never admit that) inspiration

Trump is racist and no amount of black advocates will change that, he overplayed his hand and now people can blatantly see the truth! Don't forget that in a bid to appeal to black voters he stokes rascism which also affects black people as well. It's so telling that almost immediately Republicans started using rascist rhetoric just like with Obama, I mean Trump is already supporting the birth certificate bullshit with Harris just like Republicans did with Obama. With Project 2025 they'll dismantle any and all forms of racial equality mark my words, Republicans want to go back to the Jim Crow era and maybe beyond. So fight people, don't just sit on your ass and vote!

so fascinating to me how in specific circumstances when in company of specific people being a queer woman gives you this kind of immunity and respect from straight men, it sort of cancels out that subconscious slightly misogynistic part of them and they start treating you like a genuine complete equal

I'm working on the next chapter of Smuggler's Guide! It's just going slowly (holidays, work, migraines, other shiny distractions, etc)

The next part picks up post Death Star escape:

Han pushed himself out of the captain’s chair and brushed past the princess before she could start ordering him around again. Chewie had already disappeared around the bend in the corridor, probably headed for his room, but before Han could hunt him out, he was nearly knocked off his feet as Luke barreled into him. “Hey, hang on, where’s the fire?” 

“Where’s the medkit?” Luke demanded. “Mara’s been injured.” 

“I’m fine,” Mara called from behind him, her arm clutched to her chest. “It’s not that bad.”

Han jerked his head in the direction of the med bay. “Over there.” Luke darted past him, on a mission to find the medkit. “What happened?” he asked Mara. 

“Wiring shorted out in the turret,” Mara said. Her voice was steady but she winced as he pulled her arm free and turned over her hand. “It’s just a burn.” 

“Salve and a wrap should take care of it,” he said. “Take a painkiller, too.” She nodded. “And stay out of the turret until this heals. If we run into any more trouble, I’ll man the guns myself.” 

“I can bandage it for you,” Luke said, reappearing with the medkit clutched in his hands.

“He can bandage it for you,” Han said with a mocking lilt. 

Mara rolled her eyes at him.

( forgive me if my assumption is wrong ) but if clottcier happens in the same universe as herrenclotted, does their relationship work out? like are they able to get married or even be together publicly? it seems rather difficult considering their positions

I'm assuming the marriage refers to Clotted and Financier and yes I believe they can! Clotted will not be Consul forever but I still think he will still be heavily involved with politics since it's his passion. After his term as consul and there's no longer every single eye on him as head of state, that's when he and Financier will get married. I have a lot of ramblings about this actually hehe

I do agree that their positions would. raise some eyebrows LMAO but the fantasy element of a paladin/knight being dedicated to someone kind of alleviates it a little for me. I try not to look at it through a modern bodyguard lens because she's a knight above all. and Clotted is like her princess but in a roman-city-state-council-run-government sense.

I do think they date while Clotted is Consul though. I think they both fall in love and eventually one finds out and they're happy abt it but they still have to be cautious. I think it could go either way where people don't view it as weird or they're just really secretive about it since they're both really good at hiding their emotions already.

Regardless, they don't seem the types to be very open about their relationship details or be affectionate in public. Maybe a couple pictures of them spotted at a nice restaurant together here and there but nothing news worthy. Even after his term as consul is over, I still think it's rare for them to be spotted being affectionate in public.

And I don't think this ask was about Herren but in case it was: yes it did raise some eyebrows. This was the relationship that had gossip going. Because really, Herren is Just Some Guy. And it was exciting to see Clotted Cream, son of House Custard, to be with Some Guy. But tbh his relationships have always had press. I think the Republic does know Light Cream is Clotted's biological mother based on the way the Madeleine Aunties were gossiping about her attempt to reach Custard. So everyone's already interested in Clotted bc of his status under House Custard and the former House Scone. It eventually dies down though.

Custard especially did not like their relationship but he hesitantly let it "slide" (I'm being generous with that word) because Herren knows how to talk to people better than Clotted does. That is the only good thing he contributes because Clotted still hasn't perfected his speech and is still recovering from his years of being sheltered. He didn't really see it as a relationship in like a love sense but an exchange. He's a "good influence" for that trait however if Clotted did not break up with him first he would've never approved of anything further. He never expected it to last and felt very right when it in fact, did not. He doesn't like Financier either though so he still lost 🎉

I think either could've been married to Clotted as long as it was outside him being consul. There have been US presidents who have gotten married while in office but for Herren, I don't think it would've been fair for them to be married then bc Clotted would've been too focused on his work. Same with Financier + the added element of her being his bodyguard.
