These guys wont really get to be very present until the next season of Dungeon Meshi #But I can still be excited to see them animated!!!#Shout out to Pattadol - I also tend to occupy 'The Punchline' niche of the friendgroup.#The punchline differs from 'The Jester' who willingly absorbs the jokes. The punchline is often unwillingly the joke.#You are either the one no one likes or the well beloved little-sibiling-esque friend. Good luck figuring out which!#Yes it is canon that Otta is into Women. YES she dates younger women and dumps them when they age.#This isn't a fan made bit. It's real.#Dungeon Meshi has no romance but it does have canonically queer characters.#Shipping is fine and all but it is a running theme in the series than *everyone* who expresses romantic interest in someone -#-finds that love unrequited. Just something to be mindful of to measure your expectations of this series!#Ah! I was talking about a historical male author I dislike because I found his works misogynistic and the person said, "Oh, well I suppose you don't read Shakespeare either." and I was like, "Shakespeare? SHAKESPEARE?!?! Of course I read Shakespeare, that man loved women."

Shakespeare wrote a wide variety of fleshed out female characters. He wrote Damsels in Distress, Cross-dressing Girlbosses, and Complex Female Villains. He wrote a woman who refused to sell her virtue to save her family and then shamed her brother for suggesting it. He wrote Taming of the Shrew and it's opposite, All's Well that Ends Well, in which the wife hunts down and tames the husband. He wrote men who are good because they listen to, trust, and defend women. He wrote women of all kinds. He wrote women who drive the plot and women doomed by the narrative. He wrote women in love and women who pathetically follow a man who doesn't like them and women in hatred. He wrote sensible women and silly women and everything in between of all ages.

I wish modern authors could write women as well as he did.

after a tense moment while buck and eddie are babysitting, jee-yun sees eddie do his classic reassuring shoulder grab. she asks “are you mad at uncle buck?” (buck is like “oh god oh no eddie are you mad at uncle buck??”) but eddie says “no of course not jee, why would i be mad?” and she says “you didn’t kiss him :( mommy and daddy always kiss.” buck is clearly mortified but before he can say anything, eddie says “oh understandable, that was my mistake,” and he holds buck’s face steady with one hand while he presses a kiss to buck’s cheek

#then for good measure he leans down and kisses the baby #whom buck has been holding throughout this #i cannot stop thinking about cheek kisses and now it’s your problem #buddie ficlet #buddie
