Cognitive Glitches: The Shadow Programs Controlling Your Mind (Until Now)
You’ve been gaslit, but by your own mind. Not because it hates you. But because it’s lazy, outdated, and still running Stone Age software on a quantum-level human. These aren’t just “biases.”They’re mental viruses, distorted filters, and emotional malware. They corrupt your decisions. Hijack your reality. And unless you know how to spot them? They’ll keep you broke, stuck, and sleeping on your own…

Those who conquer best start doing so with themselves; their steps becoming imperceptible to would-be saboteurs
Little by little I conquer my fears, apprehensions, biases, anxieties. Breathing consciously and saying to myself 'I got this' before every move with that intention of not only removing those blockages but rising above them ... Elevating my thoughts to a better understanding of my unique sense of self.

Related to the "it's not fair to expect players to learn the rules" discussion:
If your players are unwilling and unable to learn the rules because of their volume, there are many games where the rules are much more brief and easier to learn.
Your friends don't need to learn all the rules immediately, but as long as they're willing to make an effort to learn them you'll be saving yourself a lot of cognitive load in the future.
If you actually want to run crunch heavy games with big rulebooks and your players actually refuse to make an effort to learn the rules, you might want to find new players who actually want to engage with the game at the same level of mastery as you. Seriously, it'll save you the cognitive load and it'll be more fun for you because your interests will be aligned with your players'.
Ultimately, I think players making an effort to learn the rules is like a minimum expectation. If they want to play a big crunchy game then they should make an effort to learn the rules, because otherwise they will be saddling the GM with a lot of cognitive load, and not only is it unfair to the GM it is also bad for the hobby as a whole. We want to encourage players to engage with the rules, we want them to be proactive, we want them to be good players who help the other players with rules questions instead of leaving it all to rest on the GM's shoulders.

Hi, I'm certain this is a question answered on like a million places on the internet but i really couldn't find one, how does one start to learn to draw
Like sure practice is good but i do not know a single thing about drawing, like, kindergarten level
So what resources should i use to actually get to a point where practicing has any sense
All practice makes sense, the value of the practice just depends on what skills you hope to develop!
And when I teach art, I typically go one of two ways: Art for fun, and art for mastery.
Art for fun is easy, but limited. You can learn what looks pretty and how to imitate pretty things, and enjoy yourself and have a good time. Art for fun focuses on techniques and materials and step-by-step recipes, I'd say, more than cognition.
Art for mastery is hard, and slow, but far more versatile. It's less about your hands and more about your brain, and how you perceive visual input. You have to break down and understand the assumptions you make when you see things so you can rebuild your understanding of what you see in a way that translates to paper.
I made a longass post with examples of exercises you can try here
And the funny thing is, those "kindergarden" skills will REMAIN valuable- once you CAN draw photorealistic images, doing loose and simple doodles is a fantastic exercise, too!
But for now, a few small tips:
Draw real objects from real life. It will hone your skills better and faster than copying 2d images.
When you draw, try not to look at your hands. Glancing is fine, but try to reduce how often you do it.
Dont draw the object, draw what you SEE. This will make sense the more you practice.
Use references, don't just draw from your imagination. If you draw from enough references, eventually your understanding of things will get to the point where your imagination will have enough grounding in realistic concepts to be believable. It'll fill in gaps you aren't yet aware of and teach you how to research what you need on your own. This is how you develop an eye to identify and correct flaws in your own work, and be your own teacher.
Do the boring ass practice shit. Just do it. It sucks and most folks hate it but it will help
Hold onto the first shitty awful attempts you hate to look at because they will make you feel so good when you feel discouraged later and need a reminder of how far you've come

the reliance of college students on gen ai thing is particularly crazy to me as a college writing instructor whos also about to finish an educational psychology certificate because like one huge thing ive learned in my classes is that the american college system is pretty dogshit at teaching students when it comes both to content mastery and also preparing them for the workforce. like these kids are graduating college and going into jobs that they have their degrees in and dont know how to thrive in the workforce and Also dont really know much about the thing they got their degree in. and theres a lot of reasons for that that i could go over in depth but i'll spare yall
BUT the thing that college is like the most decent at is changing the way people think about knowledge itself. further education (high school to undergrad to graduate school) is a huge factor in what develops your epistemological beliefs (epistemology being the nature and theories of knowledge). like your epistemology does naturally change as you get older, but with further education you learn that knowledge itself is complex, ever changing, and interrelated, meaning you inherently trust "facts" less and actually perform critical thinking when presented with new information
but,,,,,, with that new study microsoft did on generative ai showing that usage of gen ai in the workplace can lead to the degradation of independent problem solving skills and that people who trust gen ai actively use less critical thinking to do tasks,,, and that giving yourself fewer opportunities for critical thinking degrades your ability to think critically at all even when it comes to important tasks,,,
like. all these students are using gen ai and sometimes their classes are actively encouraging them to use gen ai and i fear were losing like the one big thing american undergrad is good for bc lets be real its pretty dogshit at everything else
and considering the nature of the topic:

How to write genius level characters? :(
One of the most reliable measures of intelligence today is the Stanford-Binet Intelligence Scale—currently in its 5th edition, with an upcoming edition in the works.
Using the tool/scale, scores are converted into nominal categories designated by certain cutoff boundaries for quick reference:
Measured IQ Range — Category
145-160: Very gifted or highly advanced
130–144: Gifted or very advanced
120–129: Superior
110–119: High average
90–109: Average
80–89: Low average
70–79: Borderline impaired or delayed
55–69: Mildly impaired or delayed
40–54: Moderately impaired or delayed
To write your "genius" character, you may want them within the Gifted to Very Gifted categories.
Note: With reference to this list, Roid (2003) cautioned that “the important concern is to describe the examinee’s skills and abilities in detail, going beyond the label itself”. The primary value of such labels is as a shorthand reference in some psychological reports.
These are the factors measured by the scale, and you ideally should aim for your "genius" character/s to exhibit high levels of:
Fluid Reasoning: Novel problem solving; understanding of relationships that are not culturally bound
Knowledge: Skills and knowledge acquired by formal and informal education
Quantitative Reasoning: Knowledge of mathematical thinking including number concepts, estimation, problem solving, and measurement
Visual-Spatial Processing: Ability to see patterns and relationships and spatial orientation as well as the gestalt among diverse visual stimuli
Working Memory: Cognitive process of temporarily storing and then transforming or sorting information in memory
Or maybe your character doesn't excel in all of these areas but in a specific one, or just a few of these. Maybe they perform within the average or high average in some, but are highly gifted in other areas.
The following may also guide you in writing your genius character, based on research compiled by Dr. J. Renzulli, which can be found in the Mensa Gifted Youth Handbook:

MOTIVATIONAL CHARACTERISTICS
Becomes easily absorbed with and truly involved in certain topics or problems
Is easily bored with routine tasks
Needs little external motivation to follow through in work that initially excited him or her
Strives toward perfection; is self-critical; is not easily satisfied with his or her own speed and products
Prefers to work independently; requires little direction from teachers
Is interested in many "adult" problems such as religion, politics, sex and race
Stubborn in his or her beliefs
Concerned with right and wrong, good and bad
