this. i don't know if its intentional but to me it reads like they've had this conversation before. or at the very least, tails knows what sonic is going to say. just. the silence as he sits down. the one word proposal. the immediate strong refusal. tails's expression.

i love this so much. i love how knuckles doesn't hesitate to go with tails's plan. this is so cool

if you've thought further ahead, do they go with the robotization? is sonic willing or do they have to coerce him somehow? do they find another solution? how can tails say "not the eggman kind" and then go to eggman for help

Yesssss Sonic and Tails definitely had way too many brainstorms on what to do for anyone to handle, and the robotization idea has been hanging in the air but that's the first time Tails has actually voiced it

Because this is just a raw idea in my head all the scenes are pretty far apart from each other in time, so between Tails bringing up robotization and the scene with Eggman there's a decent chunk of time, so it's not like he's lying, over time he just becomes desperate enough to consider Eggman's offer of assistance, and even then the goal is to find some other way to get the emeralds out of him safely, robotization being the last resort

That being said I definitely had some designs of what the outcome of robotization would look like for him floating around in my head, idk if we go that route yet

Like I said, I didn't plan anything really, tbh I was hoping I'd post the comic and see if others voice any ideas 😅 I have about as much clue on what to in this situation as Tails does, and now you guys do too, so it's basically our one big brainstorm session XD

hello got lost in the philosophical bits but recalling a well-funded inch thick research paper whose conclusion was "genetically engineering a slightly superior mosquito with a pre-programmed sterile generation deathclock as to let it proliferate, outcompete regular mosquitos, and then die en-masse" (as to make them extinct) would at least be way, way less of a grave consequence for humanity than like literally any other species, even other dumbass bugs. thanks for reading

The thing about biodiversity is it's something that you can loose a lot of in a few decades, but getting it back takes a couple million years. It's hard or impossible to estimate how much value any given species or ecosystem provides to humans, but the answer is reasonably often "a fair amount". In light of this, even if you only care about the biosphere for the value it provides to humans, an excess of caution is probably warranted with regard to things that damage it.
