I failed at not throwing my hat into the ring about That Article. Whoops!
It's truly been fascinating to see the number of angles from which the writer has managed to piss people off. Like damn! That was not a brief post, but I could probably write 6x its word count and not be done saying things about it, and frankly none of them are particularly kind. It's hard to know where to start.
But I think neonfretra hit the nail on the head when they said that probably a core reason this article is pissing everyone off is that it's not doing what it asserted. It's not in any way a successful analysis of masculinity in hockey, "changing" or otherwise, because that's ultimately not what it's about. Of course its gender analysis is flimsy as hell and its dashed-off references to race and xenophobia feel emptily perfunctory and it seemingly thinks the writer and his friends invented woman+ interest in sports and its supporting proof of hockey's changing standards (my guy are you seriously asserting the boston bruins invented goalie head taps or whatever in 2022) all seem to be from three years ago, because it's about a particular subset of stan twitter trying to make sense of and defend their love of the game and the fandom. Which imho is actually a good thing; I think self-reflection is great, but in order to do that successfully you have to be clear on what you're looking at. "Why do I like this thing?" is a different question than "why is this thing so gay, actually?" I'm a gay person, I can make anything gay. Me making it gay and it being gay are not the same thing, actually, and it's a real unforced error to confuse the two. The piece itself comes off as pretty confused on that point despite defining the distinction in its preamble.
So that's one thing that I'm stuck on, the way these assessments of gender and queerness seem to take for granted that they're grounded in factual observation / serious study and not projection.
I don't know how you look at a group of like-minded people all deciding Quinn Hughes is eldest daughter-coded and never entertain the idea that this says a lot about those people and really nothing at all about Quinn Hughes. Fixating on the idea of Mitch Marner being the first male victim of misogyny is pretty shallow and unserious in part because that's kind of one of the core foundations of the enforcement of masculinity, that the worst thing a man can be is a woman; neither hockey nor sports generally invented it and the last few years of hockey fandom didn't invent calling it out. Mitch Marner is not remotely close to the first male person who gets shit shoveled at him because he's perceived to be doing personhood in a feminine way, and I shouldn't need to explain that to someone who is positing that they've unlocked hockey gender with One Weird Trick.
I'm not the first to point out that the writer confidently describing Brock Boeser's reaction to his "Mr. Sensitive" nickname as "playful" seems like a serious misreading. You can be very happy to see something in your favorite fixations that makes you feel seen etc, but you feeling seen or validated does not mean that that's what's on offer. I'm glad that people find it relatable, interesting, and wonderful to see men crying, but I'm uncomfortable that they seemingly haven't entertained the idea that the crying men perhaps conceive of their public tears quite differently than the gender studies enthusiast and/or fandom critter observing them might. Do you get what I mean? It feels, to me, akin to someone without prompting telling a fat person that the bravery they exhibit by wearing a crop top and not hiding their belly rolls makes them, someone seeing said fat person, feel better about their own bodily imperfections. Like maybe that's true, but you might wanna sit with that for a second and also conclude that it's an inside thought. "You're so brave for not being able to stifle tears about your dying father, it makes me feel like your gender is getting less problematic to enjoy" -- thanks I guess??? In some ways, all of this is basically agreeing with the regressive enforcement and conceptions of gender but doing it with a thumbs up. "Yeah man we all agree Mitch Marner is a girly little fruit, but when I say it I'm being approving."
Again, you can have these conversations, you can force-femme hockey players to the ends of gender and back with any degree of sincerity that appeals to you. These are public people, you ain't hunting them for sport. Go ahead! It's fun! But being convinced that your identification with or fixation on a public figure you do not know says something definitive about them or the milieu in which they exist and were formed is not particularly, uh. Good. To say nothing of the fact that "man is the Bad Gender and being Less Man is intrinsically Better" plays into some really, really tired transphobic nonsense. If you need to mitigate the man-ness of your blorbos in order to feel like you're enjoying them in a god-honoring way, then that's a you thing and I think it might be preferable to leave Johnny Gaudreau out of it. Somewhat relatedly, a cursory skimming of more than the last few years might have lead you to the treasure trove of fics and other fandom errata about the dainty woman-coded sensitivity of a certain player formerly on the Chicago Blackhawks, and I think we all know how insightful that perception ended up being. Many such cases, as they say.
I could go on and on and on in What The Hell Are They Teaching In Gender Studies Classes These Days and so many other ways, but I think it's probably good to cut myself off here, especially because it's all already been talked to death. Dear god do not release the next two parts, this is not the enrichment any of us need in any of our enclosures.

Where Moths Rot
Tumblr media
Prompt: Karlheinz’s Favourite Sacrificial Bride, Innocence, Christa [Sakamaki] Coded, A Kings Want, Peculiar Things.
Person: Karlheinz-centric, Sacrificial Bride
HC’s:
🕸️ The king’s tastes would be centered around anyone with a loose resemblance or uncanny resemblance towards his favourite wife, Christa.
🕸️ As much as he wouldn’t like to admit it, he finds himself drawn to people like Christa, that is, before he’d drive them to a state of ruin.
🕸️ The idea of purity somewhat turns him on (purity kink? — perhaps where Laito got it from, besides his mother).
🕸️ He sometimes mourns what could have been with Christa, and obsessively looks for a replicate as he’s torn her apart.
🕸️ Cue this new sacrificial bride.
🕸️ He isn’t one to interfere with his plan, especially with how much he is banking on The Adam and Eve working. Not only for him, but the entirety of Makai and its races/clans.
🕸️ But this new bride, all he can see is Christa.
🕸️ Or someone who can be perfectly molded into her. Perhaps a bit defiant, maybe docile with a bit of a natural nurturing edge.
🕸️ Someone who can reek of purity whilst their existence being the farthest thing from it.
🕸️ It was no secret that Christa was one of— or in fact— the pillar of beauty in vampiric society. Karlheinz, knowing this, had to have the best by his side. As the king shall have the best, and the king will get whatever he wants and so desires.
🕸️ He’s learned that his desires have clouded his judgement, in terms of wrecking Christa’s sanity far to the point of traumatizing their child— or his favourite child.
🕸️ So in a sense, this new bride is like a redemption. In a way to rewrite what has been written, and learn from his previous error.
🕸️ Karlheinz definitely enjoys learning about religion and outer worldly concepts. One could say he’s obsessed with them.
🕸️ As in, if he has a bride from the church, he’d want to know how far the conditioning went, and what drove them to not question further.
🕸️ The bride he’d be most into would have uncanny or rather peculiar interests.
🕸️ Something to do with moths. 100% the fluttering critters of the shadows.
🕸️ Or at least bugs and critters.
🕸️ He’d treat the bride to his wealth, of course.
🕸️ As if it was the only thing he could offer, he’d be invested in making this poor church child into a brand new noble.
🕸️ Almost like a saviour complex (?) But more so in the sense of having a new pet project that’s equally as invested in this as he is.
🕸️ So as a testament or a way of marking the bride as his, jewellery, clothing— anything and everything is a must.
🕸️ However, soon some would start to make the association that the jewellery and article of clothing choices are pushed towards a specific… almost memorable direction. As if it’s evoking nostalgia.
🕸️ Subaru would be the first to realize it, as one would. Any child would remember their mothers shadow. Especially that of a broken one.
🕸️ Jewelry would be worn similarly, (the pearls, white gold, diamonds, and the pearls—) then clothing would match the flowy, almost translucent, tops, dresses, even nightgowns, the late Christa preferred.
🕸️ It would drive Subaru crazy.
🕸️ Karlheinz is easily one of the most powerful beings in Makai, even revered to as a god. So for him to shockingly find a larger interest in someone, a human for that matter, it would turn heads.
🕸️ Due to his canonical interest in humans, even border-lining obsessive (stated by Shuu,) Karlheinz wanting a personal pet staying alongside him would be a definite.
🕸️ As in, the bride would be almost too hyper aware of their place, especially as a walking, talking, breathing blood bag.
🕸️ I’d like to think that Karl can act almost aloof and carefree, kind of like those trigger happy, sarcastic, memorable TV show dads, should he wish. (We see this in Chaos Lineage [CL] in canon, and his interactions with Socrates, the ghost.)
🕸️ A lot of his carefree, resigned, giddy personality shines through with this bride.
🕸️ After all, being held to one too many expectations from both vampiric society and your own family can be tiring.
🕸️ I’d like to think that the bride is like a safe haven for a release of some sort, either out of duties or the rigorous persona he must upkeep.
🕸️ He’d most certainly share a few glasses of wine (or more?) with the bride. Taking the time to unwind in the fanciest of places. Only fit for that of a king, like himself.
🕸️ I feel as thought he’d enjoy learning more about the human, along with telling stories of his past throughout the thousands of years he’s lived.
🕸️ In a sense, it’s like the two both mutually benefit from having an access to information and conformed familiarity.

Do you trust them not to steal the data, given how at least one of the hackers he hired has a history of working with cyber criminals and another was fired from a company because he leaked information?
Do you think people claiming to be so incompetent at their job that they lied and are still lying that COBOL error messages are somehow proof of massive fraud on a large scale to update a program written in COBOL?
Do you trust them not to completely fuck up the new website either through incompetence or on purpose as a way to steal people's benefits, maybe declare people dead or delete them for "fraud" if they don't like their last names or where they live?
Do you think using AI in code that is vital to the survival of so many Americans is a good Idea?
From the article:
"The DOGE team has already been reportedly running highly sensitive government data through AI, as the Washington Post reported last month, so why not use it to cheat-code your way to a more modern programming language? The reason, of course is the risk of cascading failures during any rush-job that might mean missed payments or beneficiary information getting wiped from the system entirely."
This is utterly terrifying, especially given the fact that they've already completely funked up Social Security phone service. How do I know? Just over a month ago, I called to do the quick phone tree to get a proof of income from them, something I have to do multiple times a year because various programs want them and they need to be very recent. The phone tree had been noticeably improved since last time I'd used it in the fall. When I called today 3/31/25, they had completely removed all the quick phone tree options.
They took a service that was completely automated in the last ten years, and thus super cheap and already in place, for people with a bunch of routine, common, queries and yanked all that out, requiring people to get in line for a live person. Last time I needed live agent service it took about five hours to get back to me.
They are lying that this is about efficiency and saving money. Leaving the automated system in place is dramatically cheaper than paying people to answer, especially at a time they are firing people.
This is meant to break the system and force the people who need their benefits the most out of the system.
Musk has given the goal of stealing Social Security benefits away from people who earned the benefit and actually need it:
"“In fact, what we’re doing will help their benefits,” Musk said. “Legitimate people, as a result of the work of DOGE, will receive more Social Security, not less. I want to emphasize that. As a result of the work of DOGE, legitimate recipients of Social Security will receive more money, not less money.”"
The only way that happens is to take it away from the majority of recipients. You know the people Lutnick claims are fraudsters if they complain at the theft of their rent and electricity bill money recently.
Have something you want to tell your Congress Critters?
If you can't safely contact them in person, here are some other options:
Five Calls to your critters: https://5calls.org/
Here is one that will send your reps a fax: https://resist.bot/
Scream loudest at republican Critters. Those are their voters Musk is trying to kill, but whatever critters you have, stay noisy. We have until 4/14 to stop them.

Critter!verse is so interesting... i love the idea of dream and nightmare being animal-like because it makes so much sense.. but also you've said alot of vague things about critter!ink that is ALSO very interesting.. like how often are people trying to maim this guy(besides error) ?? is he not as close with dream or blue to let them teach him to spar correctly?
ok ok- first- THANK YOU FOR THE ASK!!!! ive been on a good handful of critter!verse tangents so and needed this lol. Anyways!
Critter Ink is a demi-god, same with error. They don't feel compelled to have casual interactions with people and will actively avoid having any interactions with in-codes. Blue, as someone who's not only multiverse aware, but is also an active participating member in the multiverse (both on a physical scene as well as politically. More on that in my future ramblings, I'm sure) gets some exception to that rule, especially because Ink finds Blue genuinely kind without an ulterior motive and is intrigued by it.
It's not that he finds himself as above other people, but rather he sees his duties as above other people. So when he's not assisting in creation or removing someone unauthorized from an in-code AU, any interactions he might have is not of his own volition. A lot of people in the multiple think of Ink and Error as THE gods of that multiVerse (even though the legitimate gods of the critter multiverse are the Creators and none of the various immortals are making any move to hide this) and legitimately believes that they'll gain something from overpowering him. And whilst they're too much of a pussy to actually attempt this with Error, they think because Ink is supposed to be a protector and benevolent or whatever, that they'll just, I don't know, roll over and die. Obviously that's not the case as he beats their asses, but I digress.
Dream enjoys ink's company, especially during the rare moments where the both of them are in a calm, stable situation. But with that comes an expectation of rest so they wouldn't do anything physical together like sparring. Blue, on the other hand would absolutely try and train with ink, but ink wouldn't be comfortable training with someone because he himself acknowledges that he has little skill with using his offensive magic gently along with also feeling like learning how to do so would be a waste of his time would take too much patience and concentration that he really doesn't have.
All in all, Ink isn't super close with anyone, really. He does consider Blue and Dream actual friends- and thats big for Ink! But they'll still keep to themself for the most part. As a part of what I deem the 'Multiversal maintenance crew' they're in no way obligated to interact in any way, shape or form, so choose to use his limited free time to just be in the same room as his friends is his ONLY form of love language. I don’t think other people see it that way and it hurts Blue to hear how others prrceive his odd friend.
Hope this is solid! I have the lest amount of things thought of for Ink so thos is significantly less detailed than the dude deserves but I plan of writing my ref on him soon!
Again, thank you for the ask!

Updates on the whole web_bug species thing:
I finally have a name for them now, they're called NetCritters, or generally stylized as Net_Critters.
Oh, and also, they have traits!! On the image below you'll see both common and uncommon traits on some Physical NetCritters, marked with yellow and green respectively.
Tumblr media
The traits themselves are as listed:
Short / "Cat Ears"
Long + Doubled
Floppy / "Bunny Ears"
"Dragon Horns"
Horns on back + face (Web_Bug nor the other critter have this facial trait but I just wanted to add that in because I can)
Horns on chest + anywhere else
Pop-ups are also common in net-critters, but those without one are usually very rare to find. They can be literally anywhere, there's no rarity to that; on the eye, shoulders, chest, you name it! However, the appearance of them does have a rarity.
Image pop-ups
Video pop-ups
Errors (Usually mistaken for sick or possessed critters, hence why they're rare)
Websites
Some other traits include:
Glowing markings
Cat Tail / Dog Tail
Cursor Tail
No tail
Mechanical Tail
Wings
Paws
Claws
Anyway that's all I have to ramble about for now, I'll be back with more updates on the species and potentially drop some lore soon!!
fascinating!! I love the different traits and rarities being color coded!!!
This kinda gave me inspo to draw my own little guy!

Grogu sketch by me. Grogu stands on the ground next to a small frog and plants, with a hill in the background (pencil on off white watercolor paper).
Grogu had overheard his dad speaking with Jedi Seb and was glad the two humans had found something to kind of bond over, but did Din Djarin forget the plot? They were supposed to go to Mandalore to go fishing! Not to Naboo. That was just a stop to pick up parts for the N-1.
Although, fishing on Naboo would probably be a lot more fun than fishing on Mandalore. Certainly, Mandalore had promised to be exciting in that regard. The planet may have been partially glassified by the Imperium and Moff Gideon in particular, but Mandalore had giant aquatic critters and that was worth investigating.  On the other hand, Naboo had at least seven species of Scale fish and that promised a lot of educational opportunities.  Jedi lived for educational opportunities according to all of his former masters.
Realizing the two humans were probably never going to stop talking about their children, which was weird when one of them was right there in front of them, Grogu decided to take the controls into his own hands and jumped out of his dad’s arms and over to Thirty. Maybe the little mech could help him re-direct the conversation.
“Grogu certainly seems to like mechs. Another trait he shares with my daughter. I suppose he’d like us to focus on the problem at hand?”
At least Jedi Seb understood what Grogu wanted.
“Yes. I wanted to go to Mandalore to track down information on a suit of Mandalorian Armor that was ‘gifted’ to me. I promised to take him fishing there. We were just packing up our N-1 starfighter and it threw an error code. Apparently the part we need to fix the malfunction is on Naboo… maybe. It can’t be flown until that’s been sorted out.”
Thirty began to chirp and beep and signal Grogu that it might have a solution. Grogu chirped back at it as his dad and Jedi Seb fell silent, just watching the two of them go back and forth. When they finished talking, Grogu couldn’t help but grin. Apparently Thirty was convinced that it could repair the part and that Jedi Seb’s daughter could fix the ship. He couldn’t wait to tell his dad.
He turned to face the two men, who suddenly seemed more alike than different from each other, which Grogu found odd, and coo’d to get their attention. To no avail. Something else was going on that took their attention away from him and the mech.
As he followed their gaze, he saw two people enter the docking space. One was very clearly a Mandalorian. The full suit of armor was a complete give away. Lacc Straso. His dad’s friend was back and he’d brought someone with him. A tall human male who seemed to exude happiness and had short curly hair. He was wearing a simple mechanic’s coverall and a pair of sturdy work boots. No weapons. No armor. He wasn’t a fighter of any sort, but Grogu sensed that he had seen or met this young man before, but he couldn’t put his finger on where or when that might have happened.
Jedi Seb walked right over to them and pulled the young man into a tight hug. He would have asked Seb who the young man was, but he was interrupted by Lacc Straso scooping him up and walking him over to his dad.
“I didn’t expect to see you so soon, Djarin. And your boy as well. What’s going on?”
Typical Mandalorian, just getting right to business. Too bad Grogu’s dad hadn’t done that earlier.
“I’ve got a problem with the N-1 and was hoping you could bring me to Naboo to look for the parts I need. I can pay you for your trouble.”
Din Djarin was clearly trying to get his goal accomplished, but didn’t realize yet that Grogu and Thirty had a better solution. He squeaked at both men to try and get their attention. It didn’t work. Again.
“Excuse me, did you say you have an N-1 starfighter? Is it near by? Could I take a look at it?”
The young man’s voice cut through everything and Grogu was about to scold the him for interrupting, when Jedi Seb began to laugh.
“Hold on Dag. Let me introduce you first. Dagon, I’m pleased to introduce you to Din Djarin, Mandalorian Bounty Hunter, and his son Din Grogu, former Jedi youngling and currently a Mandalorian apprentice.  Gentlemen, this is my son, Dagon Jade, pod racer and mechanic extraordinaire.”
Seb was grinning and Dagon seemed a bit embarrassed, but Grogu was over the moon with happiness and jumped out of Lacc’s arms to Dagon. He’d heard of the young pod racer and was overwhelmed to meet him. Not many humans were successful in that career due to their size and nervous systems, but everyone on Tatooine had heard of Dagon Jade.
“You’re Dagon Jade? Grogu is a great fan of yours. I don’t mind showing you the N-1, but do you all really have the time for that? It’s on the other side of Mos Eisley.”
Grogu could have laughed out loud at his dad, but he was too caught up in admiring his pod-racing hero. He had so much to talk to him about and so many questions and of course they had time to show him the N-1. How could they not? If Dagon Jade wasn’t worthy to see the ship, who was?
“My apologies. I live in Mos Kadhus, so I have plenty of time to take a look at it, but that doesn’t mean you have time to show it to me. My enthusiasm got the best of me. I had no idea anyone had one of them operational.”
Dagon replied promptly and Grogu was just too thrilled by his new best friend. Such a polite young man. Jedi Seb had done a good job raising him.
“It’s fine. I’m just trying to get it fixed. A part failed and the closest place to get one is Naboo. I was just hoping Lacc could take me there so I could sort it all out.”
The Mandalorian explained as he removed Grogu from Dagon’s arms.  He supposed his dad was a bit jealous at how obviously thrilled Grogu was to meet such an important person on Tatooine. The fact that Dagon was Jedi Seb’s son was just more gorgs in the pot. A wonderful thing.
“Well, if you don’t mind, Seb was joking. I am a pretty good mechanic. I’d be happy to take a look at it and see if I can fabricate the part you need and uh… it seems like Thirty would like to add something to this conversation.”
Dagon spoke to them all, as Grogu noticed Thirty waving its tool controllers and beeping a rapid set of information to them all.
“Well, Seb, what does the mech want?”
Lacc asked as no one else translated the beeps and boops.
“I gather Thirty believes that he, Grogu, and Dagon can fix the ship. Thirty says this is a common failure mode for the N-1 and he’s repaired this problem before. I will say, this little mech led a very different life before we picked it up on Jakku all those years ago. It may be from Naboo for all I know.”
Grogu laughed at that. He knew another mech that had spent time on Naboo. He wondered if Thirty and R2-D2 had ever met and the kind of stories they would tell each other if they had a chance. The Force seemed to like bringing old friends back together. He wouldn’t be a bit surprised if his old friend Ian was the next person to walk into that docking space. Stranger things had already happened.
“I guess that means we’re going to visit Peli Motto and give you a tour of the N-1.”
Din Djarin commented to the group, causing Grogu to emit a clearly heard and understood ‘Yippee!’. This was going to be fun!
To be continued...

Let's take our time figuring out a careful way to reach our client, who is most definitely dying brutally as we speak.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
What about the passcode? You need to step on panels in a particular order in order to open the final door. Do we know the passcode?
Tumblr media
Bestie and I can go. You stay behind, Desuhiko. If the killer comes through, shriek for help and then jump 'em. We'll hurry back while Fink is slaughtering you.
Tumblr media
Oh, that's a good idea. It won't help you jump them, but you can get a good look at their face, see them up close, maybe even engage them in conversation while they're trying to escape. Then rewind, take all that knowledge with you, and hide.
I like it. You're on guard duty, bestie.
Tumblr media
Dude, we're out-of-uniform and visibly children. What could possibly possess you to think we're Peacekeepers?
Tumblr media
Just went through an entire recap fast-forward while Fuckboy's in there trying to count how many internal organs the killer's managed to perforate so far.
I hope Yuma's under no delusions of finding Huesca alive 'cause we are taking our sweet time with this rescue.
Tumblr media
Sure, there's time for that. Not like a man's dying or anything.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Right now, Ama-Pal is my going theory for how Huesca's murder was carried out. But that's more due to a lack of ideas than any concrete evidence.
Tumblr media
No idea. I'll let you know if I ever see one.
Tumblr media
He upgraded his lab's security system into a murder machine that kills unsuspecting people. You don't have to tell me twice.
Tumblr media
He did. He truly did.
Tumblr media
Look on the bright side. You come with us, you might get to see his corpse. I'm eager to find out what Slaughter Art looks like. I'm hoping for a bit of expressionism, myself.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So long as you have the remote, you can see through Ama-Pal's eyes. Makes sense. Pretty basic.
Tumblr media
Fairly durable. Check.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Itty-bitty ball-arms. Cannot pick things up, but can flip a switch. He needs to specify this because cartoon critters with no physical hands inexplicably manage to pick things up just fine all the time, so he needs to firmly establish that the ball-hands are not mysteriously functional.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This feels like it's going to be extremely important. An Ama-Pal had to have been used to carry out this crime, right?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
If you know the passcode to access the lab, it wouldn't matter. If you don't know the passcode, you'd have to brute force it. But depending on how the system works, there might only be a handful of possible combinations.
I was thinking about that when talking to Makoto. If you have to step on every panel and make your way from one side of the room to the other then there's precious few combinations you could make without doubling back over an already-pressed panel.
Even if the password isn't that dumb and does allow passbacks, an electric shock on every wrong panel would make it trivially easy for a shock-proof little robot to crack. If you get negative feedback at every wrong press then you can find the right presses through rote trial and error.
My gut says an Ama-Pal was in the Panel Room brute-forcing combinations while we were talking to Huesca. His sudden "Wait, who are you!?!?" reaction was because the little drone finally cracked the code and entered the lab.
Could have been avoided with a standard-issue finger-sized key-panel but techbros always have to be so clever about everything.
Given that we're so deep underground, it'd be hard for a wi-fi signal to reach this far from outside. So if the killer did brute force the Panel Room via Ama-Pal, they had to be down here with us.
Tumblr media
Though if Researcher's telling the truth, this throws a wrench into that idea. Obviously, this Ama-Pal is not currently in the lab murdering Huesca.
Tumblr media
The Sizzler, on account of what's going to happen to them in a few minutes when it turns out they aren't as well insulated as we'd hoped.
Tumblr media
Which means one of three things.
1 - Fink is still in there. 2 - Fink didn't have to enter the room to kill Huesca. 3 - Fink has an alternate means of entry and exit into the lab that bypasses all security.

My WoW Pipe Dream: RP Mode
Because I was directly asked earlier this evening what I would want to see in an RP mode, and I've talked about this off and on for years ever since War Mode was implemented, I shall now lay out my list of things that I want to see in a RP Mode for World of Warcraft.
Same idea as War Mode, just with alternate effects. It's a switch you toggle from a capital city and can disable anywhere in the world, and it will take you into a different instance of the game where the new rules are in effect. In keeping with the same rules as war mode, turning it off keeps you flagged as RP-only and functionally unable to gain loot or gold for five minutes, so you can't use it to make a way easier path to a rare and pop out to steal the kill and the goodies.
1: Removes a LARGE swath of NPCs from the game. All elite mobs, anything that has voice lines, most wandering NPCs in cities, the overwhelming majority of wandering critters, gone. Much emptier except for other players and NPCs that add life to the setting, but don't interfere with it.
2: Gold and loot cannot be earned or spent (outside of specific RP-related vendors perhaps. Things like bartenders, snack sellers, selling tickets to make instances within the RP mode overall instance, that sort of thing. debatable whether these things would remain necessary)
3: XP and renown cannot be gained in any way. Items that affect this are either disabled, or get consumed with no effect and wasted
4: /say, /yell and /emote distances massively increased
5: raid size increased, or if code prevents that from working, raids can be linked together in a similar way to various servers being linked together
6: look I just want housing okay make empty buildings in RP mode into player-usable/customizable housing plots I don't care how this one works just give it to us blizzard
7: transmog, barber, etc are free at all times. toys have no or extremely minimal cooldown, effects last longer
8: massively expanded list of playable races so the reflecting prism thingie is no longer required. again, if code prevents this, reflecting prism is given no cooldown and lasts until you intentionally click it off
9: all languages usable by anyone. Yes, All Of Them. all languages also understandable by anyone. Yes, All Of Them.
10: no mog restrictions. If it can be displayed on the model in question, it's moggable. (even if it causes clipping errors. sometimes especially if it does.)
11: Options for raid leaders to change visual effects for raid members, like inky black potions, weather machines, etc. (PLAY D&D. DO A SHOW. IMMERSE PEOPLE. DO IT.)
12: Various wierd crap that's never been resolved is resolved. The Westfall tornado is gone, Suramar isn't full of demon commanders anymore, etc.
13: All cities are neutral cities. Yes, All Of Them. if you can get there, you can be there
14: summoning stones added to lots and lots and LOTS of new locations. cities, interesting landmarks, etc
15: one person can summon by themselves. nobody cares just let us do this if they're in the party
16: dungeons and raids are accessible either directly on the world map or via their standard portals. undecided, not sure which would be less resource-intensive to sustain when the entire setup is already liable to have a fuckload of instances within instances
17: if you are in a raid or party, YOU CANNOT BE SHARDED OUT OF IT. it's the one really major thing I wanna fix super bad across the entire game but especially for RPers
Feel free to toss your thoughts at this one. I know there's other ideas that have gone on this list as I've thought of it over the years, but I'm drawing a blank on anything else right this second

Solar Maintenance Services
Maintaining your solar panel system optimizes performance and extends its lifespan. It also helps keep your warranty valid.
Inspections check for corrosion, loose connections, and other issues that could cause problems down the road. They also identify any shading from trees, bushes, or new buildings.
Finding a good provider starts with evaluating their experience and client satisfaction. Look for a licensed and certified crew.
Clean the Panels
The best way to get the most out of your solar energy system is to keep it clean. This means removing any dirt or debris that can hinder sunlight absorption and reduce electricity production. Ideally, this should be done twice per year. However, more frequent cleaning may be needed if you live in an area with high levels of dust or pollen or if you haven’t had rain in a while.
Professional solar cleaners typically use a hose with soapy water to safely clean your solar panels. They avoid using very cold water as this can cause thermal shock and damage your solar panel. They also avoid abrasive sponges that could scratch the surface.
They can also check underneath your panels for any signs of animals nesting under them (in which case they’ll spring for solar critter guards), and can take advantage of your monitoring system to verify that the solar panels are still generating at peak performance.
Inspect the Inverter
The inverter is responsible for converting DC power from your panels into AC power that can be used in your home. It is crucial to ensure the inverter has proper ventilation to avoid overheating that can lead to smoke damage or a potential fire hazard.
During your solar maintenance services inspection, a technician will look at the inverter to make sure it’s functioning properly and is displaying the correct information. Any inconsistencies or anomalies in the data should be addressed as soon as possible.
If your inverter is displaying an error code, check the manufacturer’s guidelines for troubleshooting tips. A persistent error code could indicate that the inverter needs to be replaced, or that there are more serious problems causing it to shut down. If this is the case, an O&M package can help cover costs like inverter repairs. A plan like this can also provide protections similar to those that you’d get with a warranty on a car or home.
Inspect the Wiring
The solar wiring configurations and electrical connections need to be checked to prevent damage, safety issues, and to maintain optimum performance. Loose connections can lead to loss of energy production and can be a fire hazard. Electrical faults can be caused by voltage drops, corrosion, improper initial installation, or other environmental factors.
Regular inspections can detect these problems and address them promptly. It is also important to keep a diagram of your solar panel system for reference, as it will show how components are connected and the direction of current flow.
If your monitoring system shows a significant drop in energy output or warning lights appear on the inverter, contact a professional immediately. These are signs of serious problems that require immediate attention to ensure safety and warranty compliance. A qualified technician can perform a thorough visual inspection, test the inverter, and inspect the panels, cables, and mounting materials for physical damage or corrosion. They can also help you plan for future repairs and insurance claims.
Monitor the Output
Many solar energy systems have in-home or online monitoring apps to help you track daily, weekly, and annual production. By logging in to the platform and comparing performance to expected output, you can spot problems early and have them addressed.
Qualified solar professionals can also optimize your system during an inspection, for example by adjusting the tilt angle of your panels or clearing debris that might be obstructing sunlight. These small tweaks can significantly improve your energy generation and maximize your long-term gains. They can also ensure that the manufacturer’s warranty stays in effect by following up on any service requests and completing required maintenance.
Regular inspections will detect signs of wear and tear or other damage, such as cracks or discoloration in the panel or hardware. They can also ensure that your system is properly converting sunlight into electricity by checking the performance ratio, examining mounting hardware for corrosion or looseness, and assessing wiring and connections.

Reasons Behind Concrete Cracks & Why Hire Professionals for Concrete Slabs Construction in Utah
Tumblr media
Concrete cracks – it's an unavoidable reality for many Utah homeowners and businesses. If you're not dealing with it now, chances are you will soon. The inevitability of concrete cracks raises questions about the causes, and understanding these is crucial for effective resolution. Know them also check out the causes to rely on pros for concrete slabs construction in Utah.
Common Causes of Concrete Cracks in Utah:
1.    Soil Compaction: Cracks often stem from poor soil compaction during the initial slab placement. Inadequate compaction leads to air pockets, causing the concrete to sink over time.
2.    Soil Composition: Utah's prevalent clay-heavy soils contribute to concrete heaving. Swelling when saturated and shrinking upon drying, these soils induce cracking as a result of recurrent cycles.
3.    Construction Practices: Errors during installation, such as an incorrect water-to-cement ratio, faulty footings, or insufficient curing time, can lead to concrete cracks.
4.    Land Grading: Poor land grading with a slope toward a slab can result in excess moisture, leading to instability and eventual cracking.
5.    Water Drainage: Improper water drainage, especially when gutter downspouts create pooling water near a slab, increases the likelihood of concrete cracks.
6.    Soil Washout: Extreme weather conditions or plumbing leaks causing soil washout to compromise the foundation under a slab, resulting in sinking and cracking.
7.    Underground Critters: Burrowing animals like mice, voles, or rats create tunnels beneath slabs, leading to settling and concrete cracks.
8.    Tree Root Growth: Proximity of trees to concrete slabs can cause cracking as roots grow and extend into the soil beneath, impacting the slab's stability.
Benefits of Hiring Pros for Concrete Slabs Construction in Utah
Concrete professionals bring a wealth of experience to the table, ensuring the correct use of concrete for various applications. Some benefits include:
1.    Consistent Curing Time: Professionals offering concrete slab construction in Utah avoid using multiple concrete formulas on the same job site to maintain a steady curing time, preventing concrete failure.
2.    Avoiding Weak Concrete: Experts ensure the right water-to-concrete ratio, preventing the weakening of concrete due to excessive water.

Ed tore his eyes from the window and followed Sam back to the seating area. It was so different from what the Encom-analogue space looked like currently, or what vague memories Ed had of it from when he was young, and so distinctively Sam.
Mackey would have hated the informality of it.
Ed's father would have had an aneurysm if he'd seen the beanbag chairs.
The difference in the space was enough that it put Ed at ease in a way that he never was when he had to visit Mackey's office.
He hesitantly sat down on the other end of the couch, cautious not to crowd Sam's space. For a minute, he continued to stare out the window, trying to reel in his racing thoughts.
"Questions?" he asked. He chuckled. "Uh... yeah," he admitted. "...Where to start?"
The computer had obviously been her father's, though with the elder Flynn missing since they were both young... Did you always know about this? he wanted to ask. Is this where he disappeared to, all those years ago? Considering they barely knew each other and Ed got the feeling too many other people kept asking her questions about her father (and wasn't that a familiar sentiment) that was likely a question for much later... probably or never.
She'd obviously been through something here, considering her startle reaction was to draw her disc. That was a very nebulous topic that should probably be avoided, if Ed could figure out where it's boundaries lay.
"...The... spider-looking critters?" he started, trying to sort out the buzzing curiosity in his head into comprehensible words. "I'm guessing those are... bugs. Errors in the code, right? Are there other forms of digital life out there, besides programs and... those?"
Ed turned to Sam with a polite smile. "I made it," he agreed. "...just needed a minute." He accepted her hand as he pushed himself to his feet.
The wave of vertigo that accompanies the movement was familiar. Whether it's a side-effect of the digitization process or an omen of what the rest of his weekend will look like if he didn't monitor his activity, Ed wasn't sure. He stiffened, squeezed his eyes shut, and focused on the feeling of the ground beneath his feet in an effort to not collapse. The vertigo only lasted a few seconds, though it felt longer, but eventually it did, and he opened his eyes again and forced his muscles to relax.
He remained quiet for a moment, considering how to answer Sam's question. "I am alright," he said. Unharmed by the digitization process, even if still coming over the shock of seeing the computer again.
He caught sight of the other person--program--in the arcade, someone who looked startlingly like Alan in the old news articles except for the scar on his face. Even if Ed had never played the older Flynn's games, the insignia on the program's chest was immediately recognizable. It took every bit of will to keep his posture relaxed, but with a little focus and effort, he managed, and turned his focus back to Sam.
"Everything go alright for you here?" he asked.

Would that doll dwebble evolve in to ghost bug type?
And follow-up up question how much does the things dwebble wear effect its typing before and after evolving?
not necessarily, but it's surely possible.
Evolution is more complex than simply handing a pokemon a new item or replacement body part and it all of a sudden has a new typing.
This is even more so with species that are more organic in nature.
I can't possibly cover everything in this one ask its a huge topic, but I will focus in on dwebble specifically because its a great example of a pokemon with many variants, who is adaptive due to a number of factors.
dwebble bodies when bonding to a new shell of any kind, will secrete a special fluid that bonds the shell to their body genetically, sort of like imprinting on it, so if its lost, they can sometimes find it again, so others of its kind don't just take what isn't theirs. Sort of like marking territory, but they just carry it around with them. This is very evident when you have a dwebble who has lost its shell, find a brand new one, and you immediately return the pokemon once its settled into its new home. The dwebble returns to the pokeball, but the shell does not. Given a day to bond to the new shell however, the pokeball will recognise the genetic code of the pokemon on the shell too, and return them both as one entity.
Now, as for the shell and how it effects evolution, we have to consider many things. First of all, the environment in which the pokemon is living. for example, Dwebble have adapted in many locations to being a bug/water type, picking up discarded parts from krabby, cloyster, even squirtle, amongst many others, bonding to the new shell, and hanging around bodies of water. Their new shells may give them adaptions such as buoyancy, the ability to dive deep under the waters to harvest food, or hunt prey in more specifically damp locations. They may also have genetic heritage to water types somewhere in their family history, and so could learn one or two moves, which make them even more adapted to the environment they're trying to thrive in, and while subtle, may already have organs and habits suited for that biome, without their knowing.
A long lived Dwebble may use its stored up energy to adapt in new ways instead of using it for evolution. A dwebble such as the one we discussed with the dolls head may hide in a more spiritually charged location, such as a graveyard, abandoned building, or monument of worship, absorbing the energy slowly from those who visit the area. Their stored energy could go to developing moves or appearances that make harvesting more of that every easier. They may look spookier, or develop a skill that allows them to gain more power from less exposure, sort of like growing a better energy converter.
Then you have to factor in their personal traits. Pokemon are incredibly powerful, widely skilled critters with logical tethered skill trees they could utilise. I have seen a Dwebble that made its shell of iron parts gathered and chewed up, reformed into an unusual shape. It was a steel-bug type, using 'lightening rod' as a way to charge up and utilise voltage as a form of defence. It evolved and took a steel-electric typing, fully able to develop a way to harness the electricity.
Now that case did not have heritage from electric or steel types, it decided it wanted to do something, and set out to do it. It took many years and a lot of trial and error, but the little thing managed it. Tenacious by nature. It did live in an area that got a lot of storms, and was wise enough to try to wield it to defend its family. It forced an adaption to a degree.
Now, with regards to the doll head dwebble, if it was to keep the porcelain toy as a shell, and probably factored in one other thing, it may evolve into a dual ghost type. Perhaps it has Nincada heritage in it, or it may migrate to a location that would aid that change, but we believe, the shell alone is not enough, and it would have to learn at least one move, or take in enough spiritual energy to help push its form in a new direction.
Evolution is not as cut and dry as people think, theres clear obvious routes, but no one pokemon is permanently stuck to those if it has to try to adapt to new things. It may take a few generations, but eventually they can sometimes find a new path and thrive. Its actually quite beautiful, to think we are all capable of such change and personal development if we simply put a little time and work in.
