#helluva divorce

Bits of foreshadowing that may connect and have pay-off before the end of Helluva Boss season 2, and/or in season 3:

Blitz offering to hire Stolas when they were children ("You'd be a good boss!").

Blitz avoiding paperwork and dumping it on Moxie.

Moxie having a hard time (emotionally) with the bookkeeping.

Stolas being excited to help Ozzie with technical paperwork ("I love words!").

Stella screaming "I'm going to take EVERYTHING! EVERYTHING you own!" at Stolas on the phone.

Andrealphus manipulating Stella towards divorce rather than murder (while mentioning Stolas' legions specifically).

The Looming Divorce.

What I think this will amount to:

Stella successfully takes Stolas for everything he's worth in the divorce, including his title and his legions. Blitz offers Stolas a job at I.M.P., where he does their bookkeeping. Stella takes the money and lifestyle she wants, and Andrealphus gets access to the POWER he coveted, kicking off bigger plot problems down the line.

Wilder speculations:

Blitz may be involved in the divorce hearing by being called to court as a witness against Stolas, to "prove" that Stolas cheating on Stella is the "cause" of the divorce. He, or Moxie and Millie, may also be called to court as witnesses of Striker having been hired (by Stella) to assassinate Stolas. He/they may also be called as witnesses of how Stolas' actions have "endangered" or negatively affected Octavia, if custody is part of this hearing.

As the wrecking ball scene in the trailer for S2 has yet to occur, and it seems likely it's the condemned building I.M.P. is located in getting destroyed, perhaps Stolas loses everything BUT the palace, and offers to let I.M.P. work out of his home. Or perhaps Stolas loses the palace too, they have to reestablish I.M.P. at a different location, and Stolas needs somewhere new to live.

As season 2 started with kicking off The Divorce, it feels appropriate for it to end with the culmination and consequences of said divorce. The nod toward Andrealphus potentially becoming a larger and more long term villain seems likely to be at least one of the cliffhangers this season will end on. Excited to see how it plays out!

As Season 2 Ends, This is Still One of My Favorite Hidden Gems from HB

Going way back to S2E1 here. I'm a graphic designer, and I absolutely screamed when I saw the font used in Stella's Not Divorced party: specifically, the banner design that Stolas tears up after sleeping with Blitzø.

Why?

Because that font is literally called LUST SCRIPT.

I recognized it right away because I've used it before and chuckled at the name every time. Somebody on the team must have fucking known what they were doing using it. That was not JUST because it looked fancy.

They used a "Lust" font for an event mocking Stolas' undesirability. Then he has good sex for the first time in his life and immediately tears it up. I have never seen anyone else point this out, but it will live in my head forever.

Wait, hold up... Did Stolas ever talk to Octavia about the fact that he was getting a divorce?

Like, I like to think Stolas did.

However, I'm someone that gets their evidence based on what's been presented to us in the show.

So, I really think there's a huge possibility that Stolas never had this discussion with Octavia.

Unless, of course, Octavia witnessed this...

But again, this is all speculation... we can't assume Octavia was there to witness this altercation. Nor can we assume that Stolas would talk to Octavia about the divorce...

Like, we know Stolas never told Blitz about the divorce, but surely he'd tell Octavia... right? God I hope so.

Also, this is NOT an Anti-Stolas post.

I don't get why Stolas stays with Stella this long if he's the one with actual power?

He's a prince with his own mansion and magic powers, while Stella is just a noblewoman who has to live with her brother and doesn't even have magic as far as we know

Yes, she's abusive, but Stolas is superior to her in rank, so he could've divorced her once via was born.

I don't think some people realize that Stolas realizing how wrong the full moon deal was and Stolas acknowledging his microagressions and privilege as a white (coded) rich man are two separate arcs. The former has been concluded. The latter has not.

Stolas' over all character arc isn't over. I think people just don't understand that characters- especially the more complex ones- can have multiple arcs going on at once. They don't all have to be concluded at once, especially in a TV show. The character can take baby steps towards becoming a better person, overcoming flaws one at a time.

Lucifer: (squaring his shoulders as he stands outside his office/bedroom) Alright, Charlie. You know the drill. I have an important meeting today that might go through tomorrow. I'm trusting you to be a good girl while I'm gone.

Vaggie: What was that all about?

Charlie: (sighs) Dad's been having an annual meeting with some of the princes of the other rings for a while now, and he always seems so depressed beforehand. This is the one he absolutely refuses to let me sit in on. (Deflates slightly) Honestly, it makes me a little worried.

Vaggie: (holds Charlie's hand) Hey, I'm sure everything is fine. Your dad is the King of Hell, after all. He can handle himself.

-Cut to the dark depths of Lucifer's bedroom. An apple themed calander is hanging on the wall with the day circled in thick, black marker and "Divorce Anniversary" written in the block-

Lucifer: (sitting on a plush, red love seat, wrapped in a cozy blanket, wearing apple pajamas with a face mask, and eating a bowl of Apple Jack's cereal pitifully as the glow of the TV illuminates the room)

TV: Ay! Why won't you love me, Alejandro?!

Lucifer: Preach it, sister. (Takes a bite of cereal as his phone rings, and he answers the video call)

Stolas: (in a similar situation only wearing a robe that's too big and eating Shooting Stars Lucky Charms) Gabriella is such a mood.

Lucifer: (through a mouth full of cereal) I know, right?! He doesn't deserve you, Gabriella! You can do so much better!

-Circus Fanfare plays-

Lucifer: Hold on, Stolas. I gotta patch someone in. (Presses a button)

Ozzy: (wearing a robe that's too small, wrapped in a blanket with his flame hair rolled in curlers, and eating Wheaties) Hey, guys! Still in the heartbreak phase?

Lucifer & Stolas: (nod with pitiful, kicked puppy eyes)

Ozzy: (puppy eyes as he wails with Lucifer and Stolas) Gabriella, no! Baby girl, he ain't worth your time!
