listen there really was just something about how in the book, snow’s 3-page descent from hesitant lover boy to deluded mfer happens entirely in his mind. lucy gray gives him no indication whatsoever that she suspects him, that she’s going to leave or betray him. he’s just sitting quietly in the cabin waiting for her to return when that seed of calculated suspicion, which he has needed to survive the capitol, takes a hold of him and chokes the life out of any goodness left inside him. it really drives home your terror as a reader that “oh my god did he kill her? did she escape? what happened to her? why would he even think that?” in a way that when the movie had to adjust for visualization it lost some of that holy shit this guy has lost it emphasis.

I made Steve a math teacher in one of my AUs and a lot of people were like, ‘I don’t think Steve is good at math.’

But I do!

I don’t think he’s great a mental math or necessarily all that fast with it but I think if you give him some paper and time, and he’s figure it out. Steve has been shown to be a pretty good problem-solver, the bulk of math is just ‘figuring it out.’

None of this matters because most of the time, we make Steve a second grade teacher so he’s doing all the subjects anyways.

I just think he’d be good at math.

(Completely valid to make his an English or history teacher though)

When strange white-suited figures with even stranger gadgets started to show up in Gotham City, the Bats were justifiably worried of a new rogue trying to claim territory. But the government authorization they provided did check out, so they decided to let them be.

And it turned out to be a quite beneficial decision.

Though perhaps a bit quick on the draw with their weapons, the agents proved instrumental in locating multiple Court of Owls bases and taking down their members for good. In the process, they also discovered a previously unknown Lazarus Pit and disposed of it. Hell, they even offered to perform a procedure to remove Red Hood’s pit rage!

After all that, was it any wonder Bruce was friendly with them?

Curled up invisibly on the roof above, Phantom began to cry as he felt his hopes shatter.

Things had grown increasingly desperate in Amity Park as the GIW’s anti-ghost tech had improved. Ever since he’d found the shattered remains of a ghost core in their labs, he’d known the situation was far out of his control, and had set off to beg the Justice League for help.

DP x DC: The Most Dangerous Card Game

Ok so Danny has essentially claimed earth as his. And he is fully aware that there are constant threats to the planet. Now he can’t stop a threat that originates on earth (that’s something he’ll leave to the Justice league) but he can do something about outside threats. Doing some research on ancient spells, rituals, and artifacts, he cast a world wide barrier on the planet to protect it from hostile threats so they cannot enter. This will prevent another Pariah Dark incident. However, barriers like this come at a price. You see, there are two ways to make a barrier. Either make one powered up by your own energy and power (which would be constantly draining) or set up a barrier with rules. The way magic works is that nothing can be absolutely indestructible. It must have a weakness. The most powerful barriers weren’t the ones reinforced with layer after layer of protective charms and buffed up with power. Those could eventually be destroyed either by being overpowered, wearing them down, or by cutting off the original power source. No, the most powerful barriers were the ones with a deliberate weakness. A barrier indestructible except for one spot. A cage that can only be opened from the outside. Or that can only be passed with a key or by solving a riddle. So Danny chooses this type of barrier and does the necessary ritual and pours in enough power to make it. And he adds his condition for anyone to enter. 

Now the Justice league? Find out about the barrier when Trigon attempts to attack, they were preparing after he threatened what he would do once he got to earth. How he would destroy them. The Justice league tried to take the fight to him first but were utterly destroyed, so they retreated home to tend to their injuries, and fortify earth for one. Last. Stand. Only when Trigon makes his big entrance…he’s stopped.

The Justice league watch in awe as this thin see-through barrier with beautiful green swirls and speckled white lights like stars apears blocking Trigon and his army’s advance. The barrier looks so thin and fragile yet no matter how hard the warlord hits, none of his attacks can get through and neither can he damage said barrier. That’s when Constantine and Zatanna recognizes what this barrier is. Something only a powerful entity could create. For a moment, the league is filled with hope that Trigon can’t get through yet Constantine also explains that it’s not impenetrable. And clearly Trigon knows this too for he calls out a challenge. 

And that’s when, in a flash of light, a tiny glowing teenager appears. He looked absolutly minuscule compared to Trigon and yet practically glowed with power (this isn’t a King Danny AU though).

And that is when the conditions for passing the barrier are revealed. And the Justice realize that the only thing stopping Trigon and his army from decimating earth. The only way he can get through….is by beating this glowing teenager in a card game. 

Not just any card game though. The most convoluted game Sam, Danny, and Tucker invented themselves. It’s like the infinite realms version of magic the gathering, combined with Pokémon, and chess. And Danny is the master. So sit down Trigon and let’s play.

(The most intense card game of the Justice league’s life).

After Danny wins, this happens a few more times with outer word beings and possibly even demons attempting to invade earth, yet none have been able to beat the mysterious teenager in a card game. Constantine might even take a crack at it and try to figure out how to play. He’s really bad though. Every time this happens, the Justice league worry that this might be the time the teenager looses. Yet every time, he wins (even if only barely). 

Meanwhile, Danny, Sam, and Tucker have gotten addicted to the game and play it almost daily. Some teachers might seem them playing the game are are like ‘awww how cute’ not realizing this game is literally saving the world. Jazz is just happy they aren’t spending as much time on their screens playing Doomed.

12. what crimes are they most likely to get caught for? And what crimes are they most likely to get away with?

13. Describe or show how they would take notes for their studies, research, job, etc. this is better than a diary page, because it doesn’t demand you to get into character so much. Also less awkward.

14. A little known skill they have

15. Your oc watches Transformers. Which version of Megatron would be their favorite? Go on look all of them up right now and decide which one they would vibe with the most.

16. Need to prepare a really quick breakfast/lunch/dinner. What do they go with?

top 5 deltarune scenes?

INCREDIBLY difficult to answer. I will say no scene in deltarune has made me cry yet which cannot be said of undertale but certain moments have gotten REALLY close

#1 has to be the weird route couch scene which yes might be an insane choice but im basically rating these in terms of emotional impact and JESUS FUCKING CHRIST. this scene made me feel physically nauseous and I accidentally aborted it multiple times because I was so freaked out I kept waiting too long to retake control of kris. obviously there's been some. uh. insane takes about the rose (which. because i play on console i got the original scene, it's still not patched out) but I honestly think that all 3 versions of the scene are equally disturbing and incredibly well-done. what REALLY did it for me though is the scene directly afterwards where kris kicks the soul around in the bathroom trash can. it's the most emotional and the most violent we've EVER seen them, to the point of being disturbing--your actions as the player have actually broken this kid. They're engaging in senseless acts of violence even though they know it won't really do anything to change their situation. they just want to hurt you like you hurt her. Once you regain control of them after that scene they keep fighting you for control as long as you're in the bathroom, too. granted I am the one who decided to do all that to them (iam so fucking sorry kris) but jesus fucking christ toby

close second has to be the susie/ralsei stained glass window confrontation. susie's sprites had so much movement and emotion behind them it was INSANE and the dramatic irony of you the player watching this through kris while knowing there's so much more she still doesn't know is CRAZY.

third would be the "i'm smiling" ralsei moment for what i feel are obvious reasons. susie punching through the prophecy, physically wounding herself, and then leaving her own blood on ralsei's face as she comforts him. surely this is not foreshadowing anything

#4 is the power of friendship moment as you rush the knight at the end of chapter 4. kris taking so many hits that their friends step in and take over. The 2 who aren't taking hits helping the center back to their feet after they get knocked down. man

5 is the only one that isn't quite a "scene" per se but in noelle's house once kris rips out the soul if you follow them into the kitchen, once they finish their phone call and chocolate milk they'll walk offscreen, and you can listen to them play a bunch of different songs on the piano for about 5 minutes straight. and the playing is just like. so HUMAN for lack of better term. they speed up and slow down and you can sort of hear them figuring out notes and remembering things as they go and they make a few mistakes here and there. and it just. keeps going. for SO long. this is the first and arguably only time we see them have this much control over their actions for this long and they choose to sit at the piano and play for as long as possible. god. maybe this one should be higher actually jesus fucking christ

Checked a bunch of houseplant books out of the library to see if they could help me with my poor long-suffering calathea and I *really* enjoy "The New Plant Parent" by Darryl Cheng. Does a better job than any other source I've encountered at explaining what plant-care instructions actually *mean*, and the focus on learning how plants behave in your specific environment instead of idealized best practices is really refreshing. If you're new to houseplants or have found other books frustrating, see if your library has a copy!

I am absolutely begging people to stop treating nazism as their big, bad blorbo caricature they can just invoke when they're mildly irritated about people who (they think) have Bad Opinions.

Nazism is not just "any time a Bad Guy does Bad Things." Nazism is not your final jojo stand you can invoke to win discussions or debates. It is a real life ideology that is intrinsically linked to the radical antisemitism it espouses and ignoring that is fundamentally harmful to the point of being radically antisemetic.

Since this is on-topic, I've been reading People Love Dead Jews (I am on chapter two), and I think downplaying nazism is absolutely part of de-emphasizing and reprioritizing antisemitism to make it about everything else but the antisemitism. When nazism is everything, then it can't be fundamentally antisemetic. You won't have to acknowledge that jews are the primary target of nazis and nazism if nazis are everything else. It's not a coincidence, especially seeing how many jews people call nazis. This is part of the dead jew that people love - if your eye is turned away from the fact that jews both exist still and are affected by violence and oppression, you get to say, "the jew is dead!".

A ghost that hunts ghosts? Score!

Jack and Maddie are obsessed with ghost hunting.

So when they found a ghost who seemed to have an Obsession with hunting other ghosts (because why else would a ghost fight its own kind?), they were ecstatic!

Their kids weren’t that interested in ghost hunting, but here’s someone who will definitely be able to relate with them and who could also help them with new avenues of research! Heck, he’s even using some of their tech already!

Now they just have to figure out how to file adoption papers for someone who isn’t legally alive…
