hey lovelies 🕊️ i was walking home today with my headphones in (listening to that one slow, sparkly lana song that makes everything feel a little cinematic) when this thought hit me like a soft little thunderstorm: not reacting is a reaction. not letting it touch your peace is the prettiest form of revenge.
like actually, how stunning is it to become so centered, so sure of yourself, that you no longer flinch when someone tries to rattle you?
i used to think healing meant explaining. fixing. over-explaining. closure. but lately, it’s been looking more like softly deleting the conversation. letting the last word echo into nothingness. wearing lip gloss and lighting a candle and journaling through it, not texting back. not proving anything. not proving you’re good. just being good.
emotional detachment isn’t cold. it’s clarity. it’s a sacred kind of self-trust that whispers: “you’re allowed to walk away without performing your pain.”
and no, it’s not always easy. especially if you're sensitive or intuitive or have that gentle little savior complex. but the more you stop making yourself available to chaos, the more your nervous system starts to breathe again. and that’s where the real glow-up begins.
because when you stop shrinking, when you stop begging to be seen in the right light, when you just decide to be light, suddenly, the power flips. and you’re not waiting to be chosen anymore. you’re busy choosing yourself.
this is your reminder that the softest girls can also be the strongest. we can cry in the bathtub and go no-contact. we can wear pink and have steel boundaries. we can wish them well and walk away in silence.
unbothered isn’t heartless. it’s healed.

Shadow Work: prompts & explanations
~Assist your manifestations, shifting journey and relationship with yourself ♡
(Prompts are at the bottom of post.)
{ What is it? ☁️
The name eludes it to something mysterious and scary, but it is not. Shadow work is basically just self reflection. The practice of exploring the hidden and suppressed parts of yourself (the shadow.)
The goal is not to “fix” but to acknowledge and accept. By doing so you can achieve greater self awareness, emotional healing and personal growth.
This process leads to a more authentic, balanced and empowered version of yourself, as it allows you to confront and release these limiting beliefs, patterns, trauma and unresolved pain.
{ How does it help me shift and manifest? 🪐
*** Shadow work is not needed to shift realities or manifest. It's simply a tool there for you to use if you're interested.
But I believe it can help with release limiting beliefs, patterns, trauma and unresolved pain you have related to shifting. Maybe you have the belief that you could never shift. Or that manifestation could take you months to see desires.
Chances are you’ve spent some time on shiftok and downloaded a lot of misinformation. With shadow work you can construct your own beliefs that serve you, cause all you need to shift is yourself—and you might hear that all the time. Doing this work can help you finally believe it.
Knowing your true needs brings the best motivation, I’ve found.
{ How to do it? 📓
*** Please ensure you’re in a somewhat stable mindset and safe environment to fully digest any confrontational feelings and trauma.
1. Get something to write with,
2. Ask yourself personal questions, write about what’s been bothering you and ask ‘why?’ repeatedly. Or look up prompts,
3. Don’t lie to yourself, it only sets you back. No one sees this but yourself. That’s it.
** There’ll be some tough questions to answer and that’s okay, come back to it later.
** Do as many questions as you’re comfortable with. You’ll feel the weight of them as you answer honestly to yourself.

What emotions eriss when you think about shifting?

Everything that happens in this reality has the possibility to happen in another. What is something you’re anxious of possibly live through again?

Does your amount of scripting reflect your need for control?
Do anti shifters demotive you? Why does what they say get to you?
What do you feel after not shifting? Faith, frustration?

Do you care to know the scientific reasoning for shifting? Does it feel more real to have that explanation?
Do you script traumatic events you haven’t been through here? What do it for for you to live through them or have them as memories?

How does the fear of the unknown effect your shifting experience?

shadow work prompts: listening to the you you want to heal
I created these prompts for myself as I do a lot of journaling and writing down the questions has been useful to make my ideas/goals when writing more clear. I also want to write prompts based on tarot cards in the future, so I figured this could make some good practice on creating them overall. you can use these as a self-improvement/discovery tool, but I warn I am no professional myself and encourage anyone to seek professional help when needed. I know shadow work can dwell into deep-rooted stuff, after all.

Write a letter to them
Why and when where you born? What is it that you seek? Why do you want this or think this way?
Why are we clashing so much? What boundaries do we need to set? What can I do to help you? How are you limiting me and how can I continue moving forward without ignoring you?
What is this thought/feeling trying to tell me? What do I actually want? How do I want to picture my future and how could this affect that? What can we do to get the best possible outcome? Set a list of goals and systems to work on them
What beliefs have you built? Which ones made you grow this big? What needs to be undone or reconstructured? How can we do that? Challenge established thoughts and beliefs
What triggers you and makes you stronger? How does that feel and what do I feel like I lose or gain in those moments? What would be a healthier way to deal with that? What outcome am I aiming for?

1. what’s been on my mind lately?
this is your chance to let it all out. what’s taking up space in your brain? maybe it’s a project you’re procrastinating, a dream you can’t stop thinking about, or even a random convo that’s stuck with you. (pro tip: don’t filter yourself, this is just for you.) writing it all down can help you figure out what’s truly important and what you’re ready to let go of.
2. what are my biggest goals right now?
your goals are like your north star, they guide you towards your dream life. write them out, even if they feel or sound a little big or scary! even if it’s acing that exam, starting a new hobby, or creating a routine that feels amazing, this is the moment to get super clear about what you want. and remember, your goals don’t have to be perfect, they just need to feel right for you.
3. what’s holding me back?
okay, time for a little tough love (but in the gentlest, coziest way). what’s standing between you and your goals? is it fear? a lack of time? self-doubt? be honest with yourself, and remember: identifying the blocks is the first step to moving past them. oh, and don’t forget to sprinkle in some compassion. everyone has things they’re working through.

this one is a total vibe booster. think about the little (and big) things that light you up. could it be your morning coffee ritual? late-night convos with your bestie? the feeling of finishing a good book? write it all down, and let it remind you that joy is all around you, waiting to be noticed. ✨
5. what does my dream life look like?
now for the fun part. close your eyes and picture your ideal life. what does it feel like? what are you doing? who are you with? where are you living? let yourself dream as big as you want here. (pro tip: the more detailed, the better.) this is the blueprint for your glow-up.
bonus tips:
make your journaling session feel special: cozy blankets, soft music, and your favorite pen.
don’t stress about perfect grammar or spelling. this is just for you!
revisit your answers every so often. you’ll be amazed at how much clarity and progress you’ll see.

While those who follow the Wheel of the Year typically celebrate "The Witches' New Year" during Samhain, I wanted to throw together this presentation/event to give us all some ideas as we head into 2024!

JOURNALING PROMPTS
What are my “witchy” goals for the upcoming year? What are my “mundane” goals for the upcoming year?

SPELL & RITUAL IDEAS
OUT WITH THE OLD, IN WITH THE NEW
Deep clean your home, taking specific care to sweep dust/debris out of your front and back door. Even better if you move in a counterclockwise fashion throughout your home to banish any negative energies that may be lingering! To bring in “new” ideas, hang up new decorations that align with your new year goals, or add specific herbs that align with your intentions to window sills and the top of door frames. It’s also a great time to refresh any wards or protection symbols you might have around your house!
2024 CHARM BAG
Pull together a few objects that symbolize your new year: sigils, charms, herbs, etc. and throw them together in a charm bag. Keep this bag on your person when the clock strikes 12am! Keep it stashed away, and pull it out whenever you feel the need to have some of that energy with you throughout the new year.
MANIFESTATIONS
Utilize your favorite manifestation methods to bring your goals to fruition! My personal favorites include writing my “wishes” (or goals) on a bay leaf and burning it. However you prefer to manifest certain goals, new years is a great time to do so.
MAKING “NORMAL CELEBRATIONS” MORE WITCHY
If you are going to be around family or friends for new years, there are a handful of things you can make it a bit more witchy for yourself! For example: if you are drinking, don’t forget to pour out a small offering for your deities/God(s). If you have someone to kiss at midnight, and they consent to doing so, perhaps you could both perform some kind of ritual that involves the kiss “activating” the spell – for example, perform a “good luck” working for the new year, and involve the kiss as a part of the ritual!
