There’s a myriad of questions you’re asking yourself right now. One of them being “why am I at the back of Spencers on a Tuesday night at 7pm?” But, you were too well aware of the answer to that one. You had come to Spencers looking for a butt plug, simply wanting to test out the waters of a new sensation. Why? Because you’re bored and have nothing better to do.

Why yes, of course you’re such a cute and preppy girl, wearing bows and skirts of lighter colors, but you weren’t boring. You knew the ways around sex, though you were a fresh non-virgin. He was about 5’10 with a lean figure, broad shoulders and long arms and hands. He had a mullet that was black at the top with a platinum blonde peekaboo and dark guyliner around the perimeter of his eyes. You stood frozen in shock for a couple seconds, praying he didn’t know who you were before apologizing.

“So sorry, sir! I didn’t see you there!” You squeak, trying to get this awkward interaction over with. He looks you up and down and quirks his eyebrow before muttering a small “Do I know you from somewhere?” Your eyes widen in horror as you’re quick to say no in hopes he won’t realize your lying. “Hm? No, I don’t think I’ve seen you from anywhere!” You’re quick to exclaim, realizing you sound so embarrassing. You feel like crumbling into dust under his piercing gaze as he shrugs his shoulders and moves to the side.

You start walking and quickly realize the register is empty, fear flashes through you as you realize… he’s the fucking cashier. “Did you find what you’re looking for today, miss?” He asks while walking with you to the register. You couldn’t be more embarrassed as you hold your items close to your chest, keeping your eyes on the floor. “Uh, yea I found everything perfectly fine..” you mumble as you both get up to the register. He steps behind the desk and holds his hand out for you to place the items. You quickly place the items in his hands looking away as this is extremely uncomfortable. He takes a look at the items and confusion passes through his eyes as he rings them up and placed them in the bag.

“Cash or card?” He asks, tapping buttons on the register. You look back towards him and he takes another look at your face. You notice him looking a bit too hard and you panic. “By any chance is your name Y/N?” He inquires. Your heart drops to your ass, not only does he know your face, he knows your name. The worst possible scenario is playing your right before your eyes. Taking your silence as an answer he lets out a chuckle, placing his elbow on the table and covering his eyes laughing.

You sigh and look towards him, “Wow didn’t know this was a comedy show, a girl cant buy butt plugs?” You state as you roll your eyes and pull out a fifty dollar bill. He looks up at you still slightly chuckling. “My bad cuz just didn’t know Princess Peach could even catch herself buying a sex toy, let alone a butt plug” he teases, examining the package of the plug itself before taking your money and putting it in the register.

It’s been two weeks since you saw Minghao, and you cant lie and say he wasn’t on your mind. Though you had a lighter color pallet, you also cant lie and say the dark alt aesthetic didn’t do him justice . His tall stature and lanky body fit the black clothes and dark makeup he wore perfectly.

You had seen him around school campus very few times after your encounter, neither of you ever talking to the other. You had successfully used the butt plugs and you cant say they were your favorite. The pink maid cosplay is on the rack over there.” He points to a rack in the back. You chuckle and look back at him, “Nah I meant to grab that one, ‘s cute.”

He shakes his head and laughs, scanning the lingerie. He picks up the dildo and his eyes widen. He looks up at you again and you meet him with a smile. You find his bewilderment funny. “Damn Princess, never knew you could take all this” He smirked, checking out the box before looking up at you. “You know I could make you feel a lot better than this thing right?” He said, scanning the dildo.

“That what you tell to all your hookups you find in here, The8?” You asked, pulling out your wallet. You didn’t expect him to actually pick up. You’re laying in bed in a pink silk tank top and spandex shorts with no bra on so you’re not exactly presentable. The line connects to a screen of Minghao with a game controller, his TV lighting up his bare face and lanky body. His black and blonde hair tied into a half up-half down style. He looks to his phone and waves at you while smiling.

“Hey princess” he says in a low voice, smiling at you. “Hi Minghao” you say, smiling back and waving before setting your phone up on your dresser and sitting up. “I don’t see you blushing, pretty.” He says, slightly disappointed in your lack of a red tint . “If you keep calling me names like that I just might” You smile. “What are you playing, pretty boy?” You ask, holding your head up using your chin as you watch him play his game. At work there’s a couple customers, a slow day today to be honest. But then this girl walks in, and she’s so beautiful. I saw her once but I couldn’t really take in how she looked because she was gone so fast. She had on the cutest brown skirt on and a deep v-neck sweater.” He explains, looking at you.

Your checks start to go red as he continues. “I don’t think she saw me at first, but once she came up to the counter she had this cute embarrassed look in her face, trying not to look at me. For the next few days at school Minghao has growing to acknowledge you at school, waving and saying hi to you when you usually pass him instead of quick waves. You both still text over the phone and the tension is basically palpable.

After two weeks it went from waves and quicks greetings to him walking you to class and holding your bags, with full blown conversations. Sometimes after school you would head to the mall with him while he worked his shift and you shopped around in the mall, having him drop you off back house afterwards. He would slightly tease you by grazing your thighs when your wearing a skirt or touching your hand while you walk to class.

He started giving you his jackets, albeit they were larger on you compared to him, they smelled like him and they were soft. Rumors started that the two of you were dating, some thought he just wanted to get a quick fuck out of you. After 5 minutes you both stop walking and he uncovers your eyes. The sight before you is beautiful. He hung up lights and set the picnic table with all different foods you mentioned you liked. On the table was also a basket of Hello Kitty and Pink items. Minghao pulled you to the table so you both could eat together.

Soon after Minghao pulled out his laptop from his bag and told you to watch a show with him. Instead of your generic show playing like Euphoria or an anime, it was a video he had tittled “ 15 things I love about you” with pictures and videos of the two of you he had taken throughout the few weeks he had known you.

You nearly cried as the list went on, so appreciative of the sweet gesture and ready to kiss the boy beside you at any moment. After the video ended he pulled out a letter from his back pocket and grabbed your hand.

“Dear Y/N” he began, “You’ve been plaguing my mind for the past 4 weeks, your smile, your scent, your eyes, your everything. I’ve never felt like this before until I saw you. I know it’s corny as hell and this isn’t usually expected of me but I wanted to ask if you’ll let me be your boyfriend. I promise to care for you as much as possible and never make you cry. Your so precious to me and I want to have the permission to call you mine.” He read, putting down the letter and looking you in the eyes. “So?” He asks, waiting for an answer.

You look up at him, raising form your seat to reach across the table and kiss him softly. “Hi, boyfriend” you answer, smiling. He smiles back at you before taking your face and kissing you deeper. He comes across the table to you and lifts you up, holding your body and peppering kisses all over your face. Who knew the emo kid who works at Spencers was such a romantic?

balls of gas pass by the window ,, blue optics gazing into a sea of darkness as the ship made course for a planet called earth . not much was known ,, other than it was one of those organic planets with many indigenous species . one that was well known were called humans ,, little creatures covered in 'skin' and flesh that creeped out even the most ruthless decepticons . not much is known of them at the moment ,, other than their short height and tendencies to become violent to the unknown . a mission ,, he was apart of ,, sent by optimus prime himself to come and help against decepticons that plan to invade and take over this earth .

rodimus wasnt too sure to what to expect ,, what he would see ,, what he would find . all he knew was that optimus was strict on staying under cover as to not attrach any attention from humans . they still had yet to discover more about these creatures . it was strange ,, being sent to protect their planet and yet his fellow cybertronians knew very little of the species .

the planet was much smaller than cybertron ,, blue and green covered its surface as his optics gazed . it wouldnt be long until he would be there ,, having to find one of the primitive vehicular structures that the humans have already created . it was for a disguise ,, from both the humans and the decepticons . some bots weren't thrilled ,, he noticed . some had gotten too attached to their cybertronian alt modes ,, not wanting to give up what little pieces of their home they had left . while others were interested in what the humans have crafted .

some bots werent thrilled with being on the mission in general ,, though it was probably the xenophobia lying within them that they constantly denied existed . rodimus knew better than that . cybertron was hard ,, surface made of metal and any materials around were equally as hard . organic planets werent . some had a few hard spots ,, known as rock ,, but it was mostly squishy . flora that grew would end up sticking to some mechs ,, or their pedes . some mechs have gotten tangled up in 'vines' before . not to mention how wet organic planets can be ,, including earth considering how much of its surface was a liquid known as 'water' . the only other liquid rodimus had known was energon ,, the blood and life of all cybertronians . their only energy source and what kept them alive ,, what kept them going .

          rodimus could be seen as one of those bots though . not too thrilled about this mission ,, but not too bummed out from it . he wasnt too curious about humans like some mechs were ,, or to rephrase ,, like how hound was with them . then again ,, he wanted to know what else theyve found out about the creatures other than their hostility and squishy appearance .

          though as the earth neared the ship ,, he would have to contain his thoughts and prepare for landing .

you groaned ,, setting your bag in the passenger seat and gripped your steering wheel tightly . it always ended this way . every relationship did ,, no matter what you did to make it better or try harder . it ended the same way ,, with them being the first to leave . maybe fate had it out for you ,, a grudge placed against you for eternity . you werent too sure .

headlights passed by ,, the hum of vehicles passing you on the highway took your mind off the memories at hand . exiting and pulling off into a hidden roadway that was covered by trees ,, you rolled your window down and drove at a slower pace . the fresh ,, cool air blew softly in your face ,, drying your tear-filled eyes as the car's headlights flashed over yards of trees . once arriving ,, you put it in and park and exited ,, heading to the large boulder you've become quite acquainted with .

the moon hung high ,, staring down at you as you seated yourself against the boulder . " i dont know what to do anymore ,, mr moon ,," you began ,, bunching your knees to your chest as you held your face in your hands . tears flowed to the brim of your eyes once more ,, continuing to vent your frustrations to your one listener . " i dont know what went wrong . i thought they were the one ,, i really did ." your voice wavered ,, choking back a sob and trying your best to keep yourself composed . " what's wrong with me ,, mr moon ?" tears flowed like a rushing river down your cheeks when you forced that question out . your body warmed ,, shoulders shaking and eyes becoming itchy as tears rushed out .

your body crumpled quickly ,, sobs slipping past your lips quietly ,, gradually getting louder the more you cried . your nose became wet again ,, sniffling as you looked to the ground . dry dirt had little misshaped circles from your teardrops ,, a few pebbles hiding beneath the dirt darkening in color with every tear .

" im so lost mr moon . why ? just why ?" you cried loudly ,, sniffling once more as your cheeks heated . " please ,, mr moon ,, please help me . i dont know what to do ,," you sobbed ,," please give me a sign . give me anything ,, anything !" you yelled ,, crushing your eyelids close as you choked on your own sobbing . " please ,," you whispered ,, not having much a voice to continue . your chest heaved ,, lungs hurting from breathing heavily . the moonlight shined onto you ,, opening your eyes as you gazed up at it . the stars twinkled ,, constellations becoming clear in the sky as the clouds drifted away . one star ,, one that was brighter than the rest passed through the sky . a shooting star .

you wasted no time wishing ,, putting your hands together and wishing hard and deep in your heart . " thank you mr moon ,," you whispered ,, breathing starting to even out . you watched as the star passed ,, though something felt off about it . it almost looked as though it was getting closer and closer . until you realized it was ,, the object large and passing over you ,, crashing ahead in the distance at a great speed . you watched ,, frozen as you stared in the distance it crashed . you turned to look at the moon one last time ,, the clouds now covering most of it before you smiled .

          jumping to your feet ,, you ran towards the object . trees had been crushed and bent from where it sped past ,, branches torn and leaves falling rapidly . the smell of something burning came from the direction ,, hurrying up as you stopped abruptly . there it lied ,, aflame and smoke pouring out .

          it looked like a ship of somesort . it wasnt man-made ,, thats for sure . you observed ,, waiting for something to happen . a piece of the ship flew off ,, a large silhouette standing in the flames as they walked out . they crashed to their knees a bit aways from the ship ,, then their upper body met the harsh ground . you werent sure what they were ,, waiting a minute or two before slowly making your way to their crumpled body . they looked humanoid ,, way larger than a human though and definitely not as soft .

          they looked as though to be made of some sort of metal ,, painted over in shades of red ,, orange ,, and yellow . burn marks covered their body ,, their supposed eyes black and face smooshed into the dirt . you cast one last glance at the moon ,, who was now covered by the clouds ,, than back at the being .

Oh wow you actually give quite good advice. Got any advice for highschoolers? I just started my freshman year (although probably some advice won’t be terribly applicable since the entire school is 25 people and my class is 4 kids, but it’s worth a shot. Also it might help other people.)

YES! I DO! So I went to a year and a half of high school before moving up to college and I HATED it. Here are some tips that would have made it suck less.

Learn to have a thicker skin. Easier said than done, I KNOW, but if someone says something mean to you, you can't let it bother you forever. Accept that they're just an asshole or are insecure and taking it out on others, and move on. Your worth is not defined by what some 14 year old bitch says about you.

It is not lame to have a good relationship with teachers! Talk to them, hang out with them during lunch, don't care what anyone else thinks.

Pack yourself a lunch every single day. Its healthier and you'll have more time to hang out during lunch.

Get involved! Join clubs, do student government or debate, do cast or crew for the fall musical. I did costumes for my freshman fall musical, and it's how I met one of my best friends who is still my best friend almost 5 years later (if you're reading this, you know who you are. ily <3)

Don't feel pressured to dress a certain way for fashion trends. I was a freshman in 2019/2020 so vsco girl/cottage core/""alt"" (that wasn't even really alternative) were very popular and I basically didn't wear any of my favorite clothes for a while. Just do what makes you happy.

Get a 504 or an IEP (educational/school accommodation plans) if you need one. They're life savers (if anyone wants another post on what was on my 504 for accommodations, lmk!)

Your body is inevitably going to change. Most people gain weight when they're in high school. Despite being a teenager, you are still a CHILD. Your body isn't going to look like an instagram model's. Don't let it get to you.

Always carry around pads or tampons with you. Even if you don't have periods. You never know when you or someone you know will get a surprise period.

Bring deodorant in your backpack every day. You will need it, even if you apply it in the morning.

Don't be that person who puts on heavy perfumes or body sprays in class. Just don't.

Take honors/AP classes if you can! They're honestly not that much more difficult and they look great on your record.

Do every single extra credit assignment!

Use google docs for everything

Take notes in every class, even if you already know the subject and notes aren't required.

Learn to study in high school, even if you don't need to. You WILL need to study in college and it's good to already know your studying style.

Take lots of photos! Even if you are insecure. You don't have to look at them, but someday you'll want to have them. I was deeply insecure in high school and have barely any photos of myself, and I deeply regret that.

You know those posts that are like "life may suck but at least I'm not 15 again"? Those posts are real. High school is NOT AT ALL the best years of your life, despite what everyone may tell you. Things can always get better.

Try not to date much in high school. Statistically, you are not going to marry your freshman year partner. Even if you think they're "the one", don't take it super seriously. You both have a lot of developing to do.

DO NOT EVER IN YOUR LIFE DATE A SENIOR AS A FRESHMAN. YOU ARE NOT MATURE FOR YOUR AGE. IT DOES NOT MAKE YOU COOL. THEY ARE NOT DIFFERENT OR SPECIAL. A 17/18 YEAR OLD HAS ABSOLOUTLEY NO BUSINESS DATING A 14/15 YEAR OLD. DO NOT GO THERE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE. EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There is a LOT of pressure to lose your virginity in high school. That is bullshit. It's okay to not have sex until later. It's okay to never have sex. Anyone who tries to pressure you or tell you otherwise, is NOT someone you want in your life. The right sexual partner will respect your boundries and not try to pressure you into anything.

"We're pregnant!" SWK announces, before backpedaling, "Well, not 'we', not like our alts, but we are, well, Mac is, ugh, I helped!"

Even if Canon PIF and Mac are not more than begrudging allies, I could see them looking up things for the babies, for the former to see what's new and useful for rearing children since she now knows what needs to be done to make more.

Cherry is then like "nope, you're all wrong. your babies can't out-cute my pebble army."

The argument is immediately forgotten, as now the SWKs are just glad that they didn't get a mega-sized 9-pound potato baby. Its all in good fun though, as Plum and Peach consider Yuebei to be their little ice lily.

Regarding the Dance AU, I'll give you a little bit of bg information first. Night Raven Dance Academy is a prestigious school with availability for anyone from the middle class tax bracket right on up to royalty, but the difficulty and the quality of the lessons are dependent on your financial standing. (For example, Vil, Neige, Leona, Riddle - they all have the best teachers NRDA has to offer, with a rigorous training schedule and their academics are less of a priority than dance is in terms of personal goals, and are done via asynchronous classes to accommodate for their schedule. Ace, Deuce, Vizzie (OC), are still in a pretty intense dance program, but they still have their normal classes to attend in person). NRDA is divided by floors based on where you're going for classes. Now for Neige, Riddle and Vil. They are the queen bees, studying specifically ballet. Since Leona took a temporary leave from the academy after a dance related accident, the three of them have been competing to be the top dancer at the school. They've got a "Mean Girls" sort of dynamic going, where they treat each other like enemies as much as they treat each other like friends. Part of this is because they've known each other since middle school. Part of this is the (mostly) friendly competition between them. Part of this is the Gender Envy. Neige is openly gender fluid, with supportive (adoptive) parents. This somewhat irks Vil, not just the self expression and the support, but it seems to give Neige more flexibility as their instructor knows Neige is comfortable playing either a typically female OR male lead, resulting in Neige being picked over Vil for leads often, never due to skill, only due to the comfort level the instructor has been made aware of. However he has major imposter syndrome and nobody he can talk to about it because he knows Vil and Riddle will kind of tear him apart, but his parents don't really acknowledge his issues, just telling him he's perfect and he knows its not true. Vil can't say he wants the female lead. He has considered coming out to his father as trans, but overheard a conversation his dad had with Riddle's mom, and realized the moment he told his father he would be disowned, his reputation would be ruined, and his dance career would be over. So he stays quiet, silently seething as Neige gets the glory he wishes he had. Riddle is afab in this universe. She is in denial about being trans, as she knows her mother would not be supportive, which has severely impacted her motivation and passion for dance. Everything just Feels Wrong, and when she looks at Vil and Neige she wonders why she feels a sense of loss or like something's missing. So her performance hasn't been as good as it has in the past, leading to more issues and one-sided conversations from her mother, and empty promises that she'll try to do better but she really doesn't know what's wrong. Her mental health starts to wear on her quite a bit, but Vil and Neige pick up on it eventually.

There will be a day, eventually, in which the three of them are able to really talk to each other and sort their shit but it takes A While to get there. wheeee thank you for asking about it I love talking about worldbuilding and stuff and its a great reward for when I finish chunks of hw so I really appreciate it in that way too lmao

I am nonbinary, use she/they pronouns and I’m not fully sure abt my sexuality but I know I’m into guys at least

I tend to be quite outspoken with my opinions and will get into debates over them though I try not the be too aggressive. I’m very emotional at times, wether it be getting super excited, sad or upset. I’m very passionate about what I’m into and will support my friends in their interests. I fall between introverted and extroverted, sometimes parties can be fun but I also love just hanging out with a friend without saying a word for hours

My aesthetic also changes a lot. It tends to lean more towards alt styles but wether it be neon colours with tons of accessories, mostly black and edgier clothing or even something along cottage or fairy core varies a lot based on my mood. I love simple makeup, mostly bold lipsticks maybe with some dots around my eyes for fun. I’m abt 5’4, shoulder length, kind of curly, brown hair. I have higher cheekbones that I’m very proud of and I’m quite pale as well

As for hobbies, I’m super into art (mostly character based), it’s something I’ve done my whole life. I love story analysis and have always excelled in English and ethics courses because of it, essay writing is something I’m also real good at and love. I bake every once in a while, I think shopping can be hella fun, I don’t often go on hikes but when I do I enjoy them. I’m also super into horror movies and videos. I don’t get scared by movies anymore but I can be scared by other things. I also love physical affection but will refrain if other ppl aren’t comfy with it

Hi so I’ve had a couple of anons asking me how I make my gifs (some specifically hsmtmts gifs lol) so I’ve decided to write up a tutorial of the basics of how I make my gifs. I’m going to try and make it as detailed and clear as possible - but I have been pretty busy with uni and stuff so if I miss anything or anything isn’t clear just lmk and I will do my best to clarify. I’m going to try and include any resources or other tutorials which may be useful as I go along. This is going to be quite long and detailed so tutorial follows under the cut. For some basic steps I know of good tutorials for - I will link tutorials rather than re-explaining :)

Before we begin with the tutorial part bear with me there are a couple of screencaps which I took out of sequence because I forgot to take them at the step I did it - and the final gif colouring result looks kind of different from the rest of the screencaps because when I was adding the gif to the gifset I was making it for I decided it needed to be brighter because the s3 scene was much brighter than the s2 gif I made for this tutorial (none of this really matters, just explaining the slight discrepancy in some of the caps).

1. SOFTWARE

To make all of my gifs I use Photoshop CS5 (this is the version I use). Any version of Photoshop should work with the methods in this tutorial and you can find a masterlist of cracked photoshops here

2. FINDING HQ VIDEO

When making gifs I always use 1080p video - but not all 1080p is created equally. Generally remux files and larger file sizes will produce better quality screencaps so this is what I search for when giffing. I know a lot of gifmakers who swear by using 4k, but personally I find 4k is more trouble than its worth in my opinion (screencaps always come out weird on my computer - like with a full on green tint, and they take forever to download). For HSMTMS in particular I like to use the release labelled 1080p SALT.

In terms of finding videos, this is a good guide on downloading.

3. SCREENCAPPING

I use mpv player to take screencaps for my gifs. This is a tutorial on how to use and install mpv. When taking your screencaps make sure you have continuous screencaps and no frames are skipped or duplicated. These missing/extra frames will make your gif look choppy and the animation won’t be smooth.

After finishing my screencaps I put them all in folders and move the folders to my desktop (but it can be anywhere you easily can access the folder) to import into Photoshop.

4. IMPORTING SCREENCAPS TO PHOTOSHOP

Open Photoshop. Open the Menu path "File > Scripts > Load Multiple DICOM files” and select the folder where the screencaps for your gif are. 

5. CROPPING AND RESIZING GIFS

Click the ‘Crop’ button on Photoshop (the little button shown in the screenshot below). Typically I like to use a preset so that all the gifs in the set I make are the same size. For this set I used the 4x5 crop preset because that is what I typically use.

Position the crop where you want the gif (typically I like the character in the center).

Then push enter (or the tick next to the crop buttons) to confirm your crop.

Use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + Alt + I to resize your image. This will bring up a little pop up like this:

Resize your gif accordingly based on the width. It is important to use the correct dimensions for the size of the gif you wish to make. These are summarized in the below image.

When you change the width to the correct size (e.g. in this case 540px) the height will automatically change as well.

Click Ok to resize.

6. ANIMATING YOUR GIF + SHARPENING

There are quite a lot of steps to turning your frames into a timeline animation. They are covered in detail in this amazing gif tutorial (which is the main one which helped me learn to gif).

It would be useful to have a read of how the process works, but to speed things up for myself I use a Photoshop action (shared here) I made that does all these steps for me plus my sharpening😊 (Here is a tutorial explaining how to create & install Photoshop actions)

I just highlight the word animate click the play sign and it does all the tedious steps in a couple of seconds. Note it is important to keep the reverse frames one unticked as shown in the screencap otherwise your gifs will move backwards

After that runs through we have our gif in timeline mode sharpened and ready to colour :)

7. BASIC COLOURING TECHNIQUE

My basic colouring process is very simple and honestly it may shock some people but I primarily colour my basic scene gifs using only the curves and vibrance adjustment layers. There a few reasons for this – 1) The curves tool is a powerful tool and you can do a lot with it 2) Less adjustment layers = better quality gifs 3) This works for me and it is what I find easy. Essentially, I like to keep things simple where ever possible.

First I add a curves layer by clicking on the highlighted adjustment layer

This gives you a menu that looks like this:

The great thing about Curves is that Photoshop will do a lot of the work for us if we use the eyedropper tools.

First I click the white eye dropper – then I pick a white point on the gif and see how it goes. This can take a few times to get right and often I will try a few times to see which I like best.

For this gif I selected the white light in the background but it looks a little green to me

After I have selected my white point I will usually do the same thing except with picking a black point of the gifs. I don’t always pick a dark point it kind of depends on how much I like what Curves has done with the white point and if I think the gif needs more contrast.

For this gif I picked a black point of the area behind Ricky. This is what the gif looks like now with the dark point chosen:

This looks a little better to me than just the white point – but the screencap still looks kind of yellowy and dark to me. So what I do now is I go into each colour channel for the curve and manually adjust it to my liking.

Since this gif is yellow I start in the blue channel and add more blue. I do this by changing the drop down menu on the curves screen from RGB to blue. This gives me something like this to work with:

Essentially I adjust the amount of blue in the gif by sliding the white arrow down the bottom up or down to add more or less blue to the gif. For this gif I am going to slide white arrow at the bottom to the left to make the gif more blue (i.e. neutralise yellow). If I think I have added too much blue I slide it back to the right to add yellow back in.

This is what I adjusted it to and it already looks a lot better

I am actually pretty happy with the overall colouring of this for the moment and I don’t think I need to go into the red and green curves. But I will briefly explain what they do/how they work by showing what some adjustments to these curves looks like.

Red curve – here is our starting point

Dragging the curve to the left will introduce more red into the image

Dragging it back to the right will take out red (the gif will become more cyan)

Green curves: this is our starting point

Dragging the green curve to the left will add more green to the image

Dragging it to the right will take green out (adding pink/magenta)

So after I am happy I have coloured the image in curves If I want the gif to be a little brighter I go back to the main RBG Curves screen and drag the white arrow a little up to the left to add some additional brightness

After colouring with Curves I add in a Vibrance layer (highlighted adjustment layer)

Typically I set the vibrance somewhere between 50 and 60.

This is what the gif looks like now:

At this point I also have another quick look at the gif and see if I think I need to go back into curves and tweak the colouring a bit and add a bit of extra brightness. When I add in the Vibrance I find it easier to see if there is any underylying colours I want to go back and neutralise/adjust in my curves layer again.

This is what I end up with after making my adjustments post vibrance layer:

Another step I do sometimes is grabbing the black slider on curves and dragging it just a little bit to the right to add some depth and contrast to the gif. As s2 of hsmtmts is really dark I didn’t do it for this gif because I don’t think it needs it. But I will show an example of what this might look like:

This is basically it for my basic colouring. Of course there are a lot of different steps to making my colourful gifsets, but this is just a basic tutorial for the way I gif standard scenes so I will move on to subtitling gifs.

8. CAPTIONS

My go to subtitle font is Arial Rounded MT Bold. I have Faux Italic and Faux Bold Selected for this. I like bigger font sizes because I have bad eyesight so usually I will opt between 20 – 24 pt font size

I click the T button to add text then I type out my caption.

Obviously we don’t want our text here so I align it to the bottom and centre of the gif I do this by first selecting the move tool then going ctrl + a (this selects our gif as the boundary for our alignment). You will know this is done based on the border that comes around the gif (also please ignore that drop shadow and outline settings have already been applied here lol – I added this in because I forgot to screen cap/ explain this part initially)

Then I align my text using the following menu buttons:

Next I Ctrl +D to remove the selection (you need to do this to be able to nudge your text up for the next step). This is the result of the alignment:

Now I nudge the caption up by selecting the text layer and pushing ctrl + shift + up

This is the result:

This looks ok, but I always add an outline and dropshadow to make the text more readable. To do this I go into the blending options for the text layer. You can do this by right clicking the layer and selecting blending options or by double clicking the layer (but not on the text).

First I add Stroke with these settings

Then I add Drop Shadow with these settings:

9. SAVING GIFS

To save your file use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + Alt + Shift + S to open the save for web settings. You will get a screen like this. The settings shown in this screen are my typical save settings (except it should say ‘Forever’ on looping options)

However, Tumblr’s gif limit is 10mb so the size of this gif is too big to upload (it is nearly 12 mb) so we have to go back in the timeline to shorten the gif a bit so we can upload it to tumblr.

I do this by dragging the red preview thingy (idk what else to call it) around till I find a point where I feel the gif has a natural end. Then I grab the timeline bar thingy (idk what it’s called but the silver gray bar at the end of the gif) to the red bar to shorten the gif.

Now press Ctrl + Alt + Shift + S again to save your gif and make sure you set the Looping Option to ‘Forever’. Sometimes I have to shorten the gif a few times to get it under 10mb - but luckily I got it first go this time :)

Now your gif is saved but there is still one step left to do. Photoshop has a glitch where it automatically sets gif speed to 0.7 after saving from the timeline function – we don’t want that! The gifs look very slow and are not very smooth.

So what we do is we open the gif that we just saved and this will open in the frame format. All we have to do is select all frames and set the gif speed to 0.5 – I also have this in my action so I go back to the actions and highlight the line that says ‘set frame speed’ and play the action through

Then we just save the gif again as we just did 😊

One other helpful tip:

If you are giffing from the same scene you can do your colouring and text manually as per the tutorial on the first gif for the set and then drag what you did across to the second (after cropping, resizing and animating it). All you need to do is drag the colouring outside to a different window then highlight your adjustment layers + text and drag them to the new canvas off of the gif (If you drag it on top of the gif it will place it where you put it. Make sure to go off the canvas to so it will keep you positioning/alignment of the text you made 😊)

Basically - you drag the text, curves, vibrance (and any other layers you need) to the gray area of your photoshop document and your colouring will be applied and your text will be placed in the same position as your source doc.

usually for me, the end goal of a character playlist is mixing together music that fits the characters vibe with lyrics that are plot/character relevant. my first step in creating a playlist for one of my ocs then is figuring out what kind of music my character would listen to and best gets them across

using mavis’ playlist as an example, genre-wise i ended up going with some mix of what i like to call “entry level indie/alt” (so like two door cinema club, the killers, the strokes, things along those lines) and like, new-wave-or-other-adjacent-kind-of-stuff (like talking heads or lcd soundsystem). 

so the mindset behind that choice is that a) mavis is, you know, The Protagonist. therefore i wanted the playlist to have a feel of like... if i put some of these songs in some quirky movie as the opening tune, itd make sense. because that fits into mavis’ sort of desperate want to be The Main Character and her want to live this sort of idealized life that shes made up in her head, which are character traits that really plagued her before she ended up going through a portal into a different dimension (and traits that sort of inform her approach to the whole showing up in a different dimension thing as well) b) mavis is like, kind of a pretentious kid. she has a vinyl collection, she probably thinks her music taste is better than yours, she is trying a little too hard to be cool and chill all the time, etc etc. she takes some pride in being a little bit obscure. i dont see her as OVERBEARINGLY obscure though. i just thought it would be kind of funny to make her this kind of person who would tell you shes about to put you on something and then play nirvana or whatever

^ essentially this is about translating the characters quirks into the language of music

id like to mention that there can totally be outliers for the sake of prioritizing the lyrics half of the previously mentioned end goal, which is the more important half to me anyways – like if i find a song with strong lyrics but weaker genre-specificity, im probably going to throw it into the playlist anyways. i cant imagine mavis listening to everything everything but you do what you gotta do yknow.

^ and also this is not something you HAVE to think about if you dont really care about a playlist fitting into that characters music taste or whatever

the second step is all the more subjective because this is the part where we get into finding plot relevant lyrics. the most helpful thing in my opinion at this point for finding songs with good and fitting lyrics is either to have some pre-existing imagery in mind for your character, or to basically just have the ability to create threads between the songs imagery and your character. while there are going to be times that you run into obvious jackpots where it just so happens that this song fits your brain guy so well that it was practically made for them, for me it usually comes down to that imagery/thread bit

so using a song i picked for kirabo as an example: pulaski by andrew bird, i thought was a good pick for their Vibe and all but again i always want every song on a character playlist to kind of serve a purpose pretty much? the lyrics for pulaski are like, NOT hyperspecifically fitting at all, but to me it is an incredibly plot- and character-relevant song for kirabo. and here is why:

^ its very convoluted and this is all just my insane person approach btw. but creating associations like this actually really helps me personally in finding more songs for the character that are plot relevant even if theyre not PERFECT per se. a lot of this stuff just comes to me after thinking about the lyrics a regular amount (aka after making brain AMVs about the little guys that live in my mind for hours at a time).

another way that these associations and imageries end up being useful is in the way that you can make connections between characters with them. an example to show that uses lea and trinity, two characters who have songs that share recurring themes of war and "the underground", which makes for interesting ways to compare and contrast their mindsets on certain things and shared history:

^ BASICALLY, these connections become a surprise tool that help you later because eventually you will come across more songs that use similar ideas but different perspectives, and you can use this to either portray character progression or character relationships, which in turn helps with Lyrical Flow because you have reoccurring imagery. and i get all of this just by thinking about the lyrics a little harder than i probably should

some other less convoluted tips for finding songs would be looking at playlists for characters that are similar to your oc (if you trust other peoples music tastes like that), or a fun thing i like to do is go through discographies/albums and try to find at least one song from that artist or album for each of my characters if i can :) like its fun and i simply think every character in the world should have a government assigned everything everything song

my only other advice for finding songs otherwise is to use spotifys little recommendation section under the playlist to your absolute advantage, use music-map or things like it, idk. godspeed soldier because its just hard finding new songs.

third step is probably the easiest :) at this point, once i get a good amount of songs together i throw them into a playlist, and then i open up a google doc or a sticky note and write them all down. in the note i create sections which basically work to divide the playlist into the beats of the characters arc and organize the songs into those sections. heres a picture to show what i mean by that:

^ so like "establishing songs" are songs that i think best get the personality of the character across. every section afterwards is sort of about the beginning beats to mavis' character arc. this step just helps you make sure that the songs are In Order and actually serve a purpose in the playlist rather than just like ... being there

i usually also take this as an opportunity to reorganize the playlist if i realize that certain lyrics dont flow right wrt that characters arc or the plot

my character playlists nearly always go through multiple iterations, and i am pretty much always finding songs, so this restructuring bit is something that i repeat like. literally all the fucking time.

OKAY. OTHER RANDOM TIPS:

i like to update my playlists with the same amount of songs all together, so i have a playlist just called “add later” that i put all of those extra songs on. this also helps me, when i DO go to update a playlist, keep track of what songs are being added as well as comb through those songs to really make sure i want them on the playlist or if it was an impulse add. think of it like that one pinterest board you have for unorganized inspo pins or whatever

i also like to use instrumental songs as “interludes” between the sections in my playlists, because to me thats better than like. just abruptly going into the next section (or ill try to find good “in between'' songs if i dont feel like using an instrumental song) ^_^ this is also something that helps alot with the Sound Flow, which is probably what youre looking for.

which wrt Sound Flow, i mean it is really just about listening to two songs and being like wow these sound similar enough so i think they should be in the same area. idk. not exactly rocket science and i honestly dont think too hard about it, usually ill just listen to the beginnings and ending parts of songs that are next to eachother just to make sure its not too jarring

i actually started this fitz-centric keeptober fic because one of the mods for the massive kotlc ten year anniversary month event that's coming up in october (dearest mod, if you're reading this, you know exactly who you are. drink water king, you're amazing) reached out to me and was like (paraphrased) 'hey. do you wanna have two slots/days in the keeptober event? you pick a character and your own prompt for each day and then show us what you've made when the time rolls around, if you're up for it,' and ofc i said yes.

i won't drop what prompts i picked yet, but since you now know the fic i'm writing is fitz-centric and that i only picked one character for my two days, i think it's clear who my character was. i'd actually selected my prompts and such a little before frizzle was like 'hey can i please use writing exchanges with you as motivation' which was my cue to start actually writing the fic. anyway! i'm glad that i've roped you into fic writing for keeptober! even if there's not a free day or a prompt day that fits what you write, i'm sure there's at least someone out there that would love to see what you make.

finally, the ask that i'm actually answering, according to tumblr formatting. if that makes sense. i hope that makes sense.

ok so this is actually perfectly timed in terms of where i'm at in the writing process of the fitz-centric fic, because i usually have a better idea of what i'm doing than i do right now. sorry not sorry for not being able to give specifics, but i refuse to spoil this fic ahead of time. i want y'all to walk in almost blind for this bad boy.

i'm not one for written linear outlines most of the time, but typically, i have a timeline in my head that's clear enough that i'm ok 'winging' it. my fics and au's are all categorized as 'timelines' in my head. unless fics take place in the same universe (ex: the sokeefitz roadtrip fic, the prequel where they got together, and the other fic where it's biana's pov of growing up in the vacker family and how it changes when fitz leaves, plus her straightn't relationship with maruca. i haven't talked about the latter two fics on here before, so if they don't ring a bell, that's why), none of the ideas cross over with each other. they're neatly compartmentalized.

but here's the thing: i'm sure that a lot of those fics will never get written and published to a place where fellow fandom members can see it, but there's some excellent ideas that i don't want to waste. which is where this fic comes in - this fic, as soon as i started writing, demanded that i take a significant portion of these ideas that i had carefully compartmentalized into boxes that didn't touch one another, and dump them together into an emotional soup. and i get why; all the ideas i'm thinking of have a common narrative theme, and so they'd blend together. but having my writing process turned on its head like that, having myself pick through different universes for the best scenes to throw together into one fic... it's throwing me for a loop, dude. i have no idea how far i'm going to go with this, and it's kinda giving me an 'ohhhhhh ho ho ho i am. so in over my head. time to have my ass kicked by something that's supposed to be under my control' feeling.

this fic in itself, from a writer's pov, is a veeeeeery sketchy experiment. it's like i'm taking donated organs from different creatures with specific original functions to try to and make a new creature that uses those organs differently than originally intended. it's a very delicate operation. very daunting to go into. i'm gonna have to brainstorm more to see what fits and what doesn't - i haven't done my index card brainstorming yet, which is a big part of my initial process, so hopefully doing that and swapping them around into a new timeline will make this a lot less scary and more the fun 'do whatever feels right' project that i first imagined it to be when i gave myself this prompt.

it was a phrase you heard in a movie, an angsty romantic one to be exact. you were young when you first heard this, about 7 years old.

everything had an end, you knew that. every show had an end, every song had an end, every relationship had an end.

but you never believed that. you believed that if two people truly loved each other, they would be together 'til the end. no matter what comes their way.

unfortunately, that wasn't always the case.

you watched as sapnap played csgo with his friends, dream and george. he was doing an alt stream and he was laughing heartily as he did.

"oh come one george, just admit it! i'm way better at this than you." sapnap said.

you let out a sigh and you put your phone down. how did it come to this point? the two of used to always spend time together, going on dates to just spending time together.

now, you would stay in his room but every time you did, he was streaming. when he was finally done, you would have to leave for work. your schedules just never matched.

when it did and you would spend together, it would feel awkward. it felt like there was this tension that you could never get rid of. 

every time you would try to talk about it, it would either lead to an argument or the two of you avoiding each other. but later on, one of you would apologize and everything would be alright again. until you both get into another argument which causes the cycle to repeat. 

and you were sick of it. 

as much as you loved sapnap, you were tired of the guilt you felt after every argument, the reassurance after every apology, everything. you were tired and so was sapnap yet you never said anything. 

until today. 

“sapnap?” you called out. he was currently in a call with his friends just hainging out. 

“yeah babe?” 

“can i talk to you? it’s uhm, pretty important.” you stuttered. your heart was beating so fast that you could feel it through your chest. 

“sure.” he told his friends that he had to do something real quick. he muted his microphone and turned around on his chair, “so what is it?” 

“okay so,” you took a shaky breath. “i’m going to get straight to the point.” you cleared your throat to say something, but your felt extremely dry at that moment. 

he saw that you were struggling so he stood up and walked over to you. sapnap puts his hands on your shoulders, “hey hey, it’s alright. take your ti-”

“i’m breaking up with you.”

sapnap’s eyes widened and his breath hitched. he removed his hands from your shoulders and took a step back. “what? why?” 

“why? well, everyday we fight then we make up then we fight then make up...” you let out a sigh. “and i’m just so tired of it. i hate how i feel after every fight and apology.” 

he opened his mouth to say something but you cut him off. “and i know your tired of it too.”

sapnap closes his mouth, not saying anything. he agreed with you and he was tired as well. 

“well, if you have nothing to say, i guess i’ll start packing.” you turn around and go to your shared bedroom. you grab a suitcase and start packing.

the door opens and sapnap comes in with tears in his eyes. “please... don’t leave, we can fix this.” you scoff, “our relationship is beyond fixing.” 

you walk over to a drawer to get more of your belongings. sapnap walks behind you and wraps his arms around you, causing you unable to move. “please, give me- no- give us another chance. just one.”

“no! now let go of me.” you try to fight him off with all the strength you had but you were unsuccessful. tears finally started to fall out of your eyes, “please- just please. let go of me,  we can’t fix this anymore.”

after a few seconds he let go of you. sapnap watched as you packed your things. the room was quiet and the only thing you could hear was each other’s sniffles and shaky breaths. 

when you were done, you brought your suitcase to your car. when you closed your trunk, he spoke up. “are you really sure about this?” 

“yes.’ you replied in a cold tone. you got in your car and started the engine. you felt relieved but at the same time hurt. who knew breakups were this bad? 

before you drove off to god knows where, you gave sapnap one last glance. “uh take care.” 

“you too.” he replied. you gulped and started driving. if you were being honest, you had no place to go. your family wasn’t near sapnap’s house so it would take days to get to them. all you had going for you was that hopefully you would pass by at least one motel. 

as you drove, you thought about your relationship with sapnap. how did it start with adorable dates to a terrible breakup? 

did you really love sapnap? or did you actually just like the feeling of being in love? you could never answer that. all you knew was you had to get far away from him because you don’t know how you would feel if you saw his face. 

“oh hey! you’re finally back. what took you so long? did you take a a shit or something?” dream said with a chuckle. 

“they broke up with me.” sapnap’s voice was raspy and his eyes were puffy.

Dream Team roomates x gn!reader Summary: Youre playing a scary game and your roommates come in to laugh at you support you. Warnings: swearing, shitty description of bloody/creepy things. lmk when you find any! A/N: just watched Tommy’s fnaf stream and i died. If you have any tips, requests or ideas, feel free to send them in :)

Starting up Twitch with hesitation as you check your subscriber count one last time to be sure. You reached your subgoal on your last stream and promised the chat to play a spooky game. Playing mostly family friendly games and usually with a group of friends, you weren’t exactly excited to be playing 2017′s Resident Evil 7. Clips from Jack and Felix only made you dread this moment even more. Appearantly your chat loves seeing you scared shitless.

You start your stream as you normally would: greating the chat, answering some dono’s. “I actually hate you guys for making me do this. But we’re gonna try it anyways. I have a slight idea what’s coming and am mentally not prepared, so let’s see how long I will last before crapping my pants.” You force a smile at your camera and start the game.

The first hour was doable, a couple of jumpscares and some bloody stuff. A few of the jumpscares made you squeal, while the disgusting cutscenes made you want to throw up. Losing your focus on the game as you read some of the dono’s. A lot of them were about the game and people wishing you a good stream. A couple of questions about the Dream Team popped up. “What is George up to? I think he might be streaming as well I’m not -” The loud noise in your headphones, accompanied by a bloody faces canabal with a chainsaw made you shriek, followed by a ton of swear words and you taking of your headphones, rolling your chair away from your desk.

As you sit a couple of feet away from your desk you hear a door closing and footsteps in the hallway. You open your door and call out. “Gogy?” Your chat can’t hear the boy answering you. “You busy? No? Want to join my suffering? Yeah ofcourse you do, bring a chair!” The dark haired boy walks into your room rolling his chair in, a tad too excited. Your chat went insane, seeing him come through the door.

“You already died? Damn, N/N.” He teased, sitting down next to you. His legs propped up on his chair, face popping in and out of the frame.

“Would you like to try, Gogy?” You mimicked his accent, causing George to lean back into his chair. “Alright, goodluck not dying.” He said in the saltiest voice he could. You put your headphones back on, plugging in a second pair for George and handing him the headphones. You continue playing the game, almost getting used to the disgustingness of the house.

“N/N, I have to agree with chat, seeing you being a scaredy cat is hilarious.” In the meantime you’re turning into Y/N “I am going to shit myself” Y/L/N. George just laughs at you while hanging out with the chat. Yet he too flinches at the jumpscares. “Guys, the reason you can’t see George right now is because he is a big pussy.” You laugh, recieving a soft punch to your arm in return.

Another half hour of you and George sitting on the edges of your chairs until Nick decides to have some fun. After hearing you yell a couple of times he’d tune into your stream. He waited for the right moment; you had just finished a cut scene and was wandering though the dark house that felt like a maze. The squeaky sound of the door opening made you lean back in your chair a bit more, as if something or someone would jump out of the room behind it.

The door behind you flew open with a loud bang, causing you and George to yielp. Followed by another jumpscare in the game. “Fuck you Sapnap, you little shit cunt fuck you-” You utter under your breath as you try your best not to die in game.

“Sapnap!” George whined. “What? I heard there was a party.” The boy stood in your doorframe, a cheeky grin covering his face. “Can I join?” He somewhat asked, already pulling out a chair to sit down besides you.

“Fine, but no more messing around or I’ll end the fucking stream guys.” Your chat excitedly greated him. Spamming you there will be a savepoint in a bit. “Alright guys I’m just gonna go for one more savepoint, if i don’t die from adrenaline overdose by then.”

The boys on your sides bickered while you were trying to find the way out. “Go left.” Nick hinted. “Don’t listen to him, N/N.” George told you. They were like some twisted kind of devil/angel pair on your shoulders. “Have you played this before Gogy?” Nick spat, looking over to the boy on the other side of you. “No, but they came from-” He tried to defend himself, before getting cut off. “That’s what I thought, leave it to the pro then.” 

Trusting Nick’s gut you followed his instruction and went left. The sound of your footsteps are accompanied by heavy breathing, you look around with the little light you have. When you don’t immediatly die and thank Nick for the advice. A loud noice makes you turn around as you watch some creepy dolls fall down. “The sounds are honestly the creepiest thing about this game.” You say, continuing to walk around the room, looking for clues. Nick watches you, unbothered by the scary sounds as he doesn’t have any headphones on. “Chat why do you keep spamming ‘DEATH’? I’m not dying, I am clearly a pro.” You say proudly, not being as scared and jumpy as you had been. Yet the grin appearing on Nick’s face is telling you you should be. Moments later it became clear why. A loud screech, followed by one of the residents running towards you holding an axe and piercing the weapon through your chest.

The boy next to you dies of laughter, panting as he tries to catch his breath. “Your face- oh my god you face.” You shake your head at the boy. “Why did I even trust you in the first place. I thought you knew where the exit was.” You say, a tiny bit dissapointed in yourself for falling for it, but also laughing as George almost falls out of his chair from laughter. “Oh, but I do know where the exit is.” Nick teases. You look the boy dead in the eye and start debating whether or not to continue the game.

“100 subs and they’ll continue.” George tells your chat. “Guys, no-” It only took a couple of seconds until the counter was halfway there.

"Let’s go, N/N, you heard the big man.” You look straight into your camera and sigh. Alt-tabbing to swearword at Clay on Discord before going back to the game. “I hate every single one of those 50 subs and Dream. One more savepoint and that’s it!” 

George nudges your arm, asking if Clay can join your little scary party. “Do I really need more critisism? What do we think chat? Spam 1 if you want Dream here, 2 if you don’t.” The chats start pouring in. “No, you’re supposed to spam 2 guys! Why aren’t you on my side. Argh, fine.” You shut your camera off and wait for Clay to come in. “No face reveal today guys.” George comments on your chat going crazy.

“You can sit on my lap Dream.” Nick said jokingly, tapping his lap. “I’d rather sit on George’s.” “No way.” The boys bicker back and forth. 

“Dream, get out of the frame I’m turning my camera back on.” The tall guy settles on your bed, being able to see your monitor and the two guys next to you.

“Why do you keep dying, N/N?” He teases as you respawn in game.

“Think you can do better?” You ask, taking a right this time.

“I know I can.” You hear him mutter from the bed behind you.

You press pause, taking your hand of the controller. “Alright guys, you're all talk, why don’t you give it a try huh.”

“Cause we like watching you suffer.” Clay answers. You look over to your roommates, each and every one of them grinning at you.

With a loud sigh you continue playing the game, causing a lot of giggles and teasing as you almost have a heart attack. Nick and Clay keep their commentary coming as George mainly focusses on your chat. You get to the savepoint and finally end the stream.

Turning around in your chair so you face Clay. “I really hate you guys, that was the scariest shit I’ve ever played.”

George rests his arm on your shoulder. “No you don’t.”

“You love us.” Nick adds.

Obviously you do NOT have to talk about it im sure it might be a sore point to rant because people can get SO needlessly rude to others over it. But if you want to idk explain? Just rant? Im definetly curious what it was over or about.

okay hi yes im happy to talk about this but i think i should preface with two things:

1) even tho it may seem like im biased towards him or being very defensive of him im actually a super casual karl viewer and the only reason i am super defensive of him sometimes is bc we act a lot alike irl and that is mainly because of our neurodivegency. when i say a lot i mean we share traits like "annoying" stimming (jumping around, making loud noises, repeating the same phrases until everyone is sick of hearing them), the difficulty reading situations, the very obvious issues with volume control and not just bouncing from subject to subject to subject as we fucking please. basically anything you've seen karl do on stream that is Very Neurodivergent ive done the same in my own way which is why i get defensive when i see people calling him annoying or saying they dont like him, usually for these types of reasons. that being said, when i say im a very casual karl viewer, i fucking mean it. i usually only watch him when he's streaming with other ccs i like or when he's doing chill alt streams bc even with the annoying donos, he's pretty relaxing and comforting when he's just fucking around by himself and he isnt trying to get as hype as he would on a main channel stream. so yeah, it may seem like im biased and sure, i guess i am on some level, but it's not coming from a place of me hyperfixating on him or me even loving him as a cc, it's coming from me being a neurodivergent who likes him just enough to get upset when i see people basically being casually ableist towards him.

2) i dont have all the facts or even a great understanding on what the fuck has been happening recently with his "drama"...mostly bc he talked about it on his priv, which im not on, and people are gatekeeping the tweets, as they always do, and basically making you "dm to see them" (which is already a problem in and of itself bc apparently in these tweets he said he didnt want them being ss and shared, yet they are being shared thru dms over and over and over again like. at that point just stop withholding the information and post the fucking shit, you clearly dont care that he said "dont share"). additionally, most of the threads ive seen on this situation havent actually explained the initial issue, just talked about his apology (a lot of people have said "it's bad" but havent said why and with no screenshots ((i havent asked for someone to dm me them and i still havent seen them posted, which is mildly surprising, but incredibly frustrating at this point)), i only have a few basic details i can actually assess it on) or they talked about the initial issue in very vague details so um. excuse me trying to explain this now, but ill try and make it make sense with how little ive actually pieced together.

(oh, also, here's my first rant about the ableism in this fandom which is way more broad. this is a pretty different rant from that one, but they're both pretty big reasons why i hate this fandoms treatment of karl)

so basically the problems started with mr beast being apart of a charity stream that donated either to autism speaks or to a similar company, im unsure on that part. im also unsure on if the people participating in the stream actually knew of this or not bc, from what i remember, the money was being donated to a separate organization that was like. under the bad company or some shit like that, idk how stuff like that works and also i read about this shit months ago bc this originally happened months ago and just sorta came to a head recently.

anyways, i think karl was supposed to be apart of this stream but pulled out of it right before (that or these were two separate streams and karl was supposed to participate in the first but pulled out while mr beast did both?? idk. regardless karl did not actually participate, just mr beast). from there people started doing the guilt from association bullshit they always do, this was also doubled by the fact that the chris being racist stuff came out sometime around then and basically he got dragged all over twitter for "being ableist" and "supporting racists" and i cant remember if he actually apologized when this originally happened or not. i vaguely remember him apologizing about something back then but i genuinely dont know if it was this or something else.

but now we get to the past few weeks and apparently something happened with him "laughing at someone saying the r slur" (it was mizkif, i believe), specifically when it was directed at other people, which is a big yikes, obviously, but when karl was called out for this a lot of people kind of. made this into a situation that it wasnt bc um. basically karl didnt laugh at it, he gave a few nervous giggles, as people often do when in a situation like that (and karl specifically said he does this in the one part of his apology tweet which i did stumble upon, although it wasnt the important part of the apology thread bc why would it be) and people fucking crucified him for it. they quite literally dragged a neurodivergent man for supposedly "laughing at the r slur" when he can literally reclaim it and also he was just nervous laughing.

and this is where the situation just gets really bad because they. basically forced him to admit that he was autistic on his priv to apologize for this. i havent seen the screenshots of him saying this, but i saw people discussing it and i am frankly so fucking pissed about this because sure, it was a bad situation, and i understand people wanting an explanation, but an apology? for a neurodivergent man nervous laughing at a slur he can reclaim? and then forcing the man to admit something he literally said in that tweet he didnt want people to know which is why people were being so gatekeepy about it while also LOUDLY discussing the situation, as if that wouldnt drive MORE PEOPLE to look for screenshots and ways to get ahold of this information? and then people had the audacity to call it a "bad apology" when they had quite literally just violated his privacy by forcing him to admit something that he shouldnt have needed to share in the first place if he didnt want to, which he didnt.

and this is why im so pissed off. karl is already constantly picked at and made fun of and called annoying for his neurodivergent traits, things which he literally cant help, things which are generally harmless, and now he was forced into a situation where he can now be further picked at and made fun of and called annoying bc they forced him to admit something private instead of just understanding and accepting that he had been nervous laughing at someone using a slur he has definetly been called for his neurodivergency.

tldr of my thoughts: yes i think karl needed to address this situation, it definetly looked bad, but twitter stans have this sense of entitlement with their ccs and because of that, they consistently take it way too far and harm the people they claim to care about so dearly. we've seen it happen time and time again with dream, but this is the first time ive seen them basically force someone to out themselves to make their apology "valid" and most of them still seem to not want to accept it anyways, which just makes me feel bad for him bc now that info is out their and people are just disregarding it to continue "holding him accountable".

anyways, i think that's all i can really say on this topic rn tbh, if anyone else knows this situation better please feel free to lmk clarifications and ill add them in since, like i said, i know fuck all thanks to twitter being so goddamn hush hush about the important details while simultaneously being the loudest mfers about how much they hate karl now instead of just fucking unfollowing and moving on.

okay first of all Yes i do and ill get into it in a few but if u want more matt/dan content u can follow my most lovely friend @chaosofbattle bc they've posted abt this a lot before and are really into matt n dan both as a couple and as individual characters :]

starting with matt!!! it's not necessarily a behavioral / personality headcanon but moreso a rant on how i hate that people forget matt is canonically alternative (punk!) and pretty open about it too. i feel like people often can't seem to imagine a character so majorly hced as black as more than one thing and push him into steorotypes a lot as if black alt people don't exist, and it's truly a pity because black and brown people litetally created most of what we consider alternative today! that being said. it's time for a MATT FASHION MOODBOARD 🗣🗣🗣‼‼

i think matt would fall into the intersection between camp and post-punk where it's just (gender) fuckery enough that you can't tell whether these people are unironically dressing like this or just fucking with bypassers. following that hc i think it's very in character to say that matt cares a lot about how he looks and presents himself, but he's long past the age of caring about what other people think of him, so i believe he goes buckwild with gender fuckery as much and as often as he can. for fun. to see who gets uncomfortable

the post-punk scene is very inherently androgynous and that combined by how much black men (especially in hiphop!) have contributed to ending toxic masculinity in fashion, i think it's safe to say matt is by far one of the most visibly alternative foxes, which i LOVE. nothing better than walking on campus at 8am and seeing a 6'4 man in full punk attire and dark ass heavy makeup :) feels just like home

i also really like the idea of matt and dan being visually contrasting!!!!!!!!! if matt is leaning towards a heavy alternative look, dan is a lot more on the casual / athletic side. i think especially for team events and things as such dan would not bother to throw on more than baggy sweatpants and a shirt, so when she goes out with matt people obviously stare because he's all dressed up and dan looks like she just got out of bed 😭 they never look like they're going to the same event and it's an ongoing inside joke with the upperclassmen

a lot of what they match in is actually hair!!!!!! while dan is definitely not as invested in her appearance as matt is, i really like the idea of her being very careful and tender not just with her hair but also matt's (& her other friends as well). she'll have him on a chair in the middle of the dorm, very clearly fighting to stay awake, as she oils his scalp and helps him with a protective hairstyle for his curls :^) dan is always clumsy with tenderness, a lot more than matt is, but the way she is so careful and methodic taking care of people makes her love very clear and explicit

the only time dan dresses up is for Important exy events and...... yeah. she goes to allison. it is ALWAYS a shitshow but only because allison is so unapologetic and so funny and so willing to spend a shitton of money in pretty dresses and shit for dan even if she knows dan won't wear them. dan doesn't like being pampered and she will always be difficult about allison trying to buy her things, but when it's just the two of them it feels so nice to just Be for some time. no obligations nor strong facades to put up just allison and her loud ass witchy cackle

So I beat the main story of Vigilant last night! Did not nab any screens of it though :( Steam didn’t want to work with me. Soo have these ones i was able to successfully take. I plan on getting better shots of the Molag Bal armor later (which i did nab from the debug room...I originally hopped in there to grab boss weapons i wasnt able to pick up bcus the bodies glitched out the world but saw this set & decided to enchant the shit out of it. Shame the digitigrade leg mod doesn’t seem to work with it :( )

Overall super fun! Though I’m sure I missed out on a few boss fights so I’m heading back into CH to explore/find them all!

as for the ending uhh (spoilers under cut, just in case!)

I managed to get the ending where you see Lamae being burned on a pyre(?), then kill & eat Molag Bal’s heart, leading you to “repeat” events according to the narrator. Apparently this is like...a secret ending?? Idk i didn’t know where to go next after talking to Bal (there was a cave my blind ass missed) so I sliced him & nibbled the deadra heart. How to get it exactly I can’t tell you, i think it has to do w not hitting him w the dagger at all in the final fight but i could be wrong??

anyway that’s pretty much it for this save aaah, idk if i wnna make another character just yet for actually exploring the Vigilant mod?? My laptop is old & even struggles with just Vanilla+Debugging mods like Unofficial Patch & building up another character just seems eeeeeh atm. I might look for a few more mods for OP Tei to do idk, if anyone has good quest mods to recommend lmk!

Also from what I know on skipping past a few chapters thanks to that needle (i rlly thought it’d be an alt storyline for non-vigilant players lmao), is that your PC really isnt your PC??? Like they are but you’re living out the stories of others?? if that makes sense?? So the whole “I am Molag Bal” really applies to the bard(?) but also....my ldb chomped on the heart of a Daedric Prince...ik you can only do so much w a mod, but story wise for Tei that sounds like Shivering Isle 2: Electric Boogaloo but waaaaaay worse lmao. Maybe this save is Tei’s “bad end,” where their obsession to control/prevent events he thought up got so bad that the experience w the breaks in Coldharbour pushed him over & made them think that yeah, eating Bal’s heart & “becoming” the prince would be a good idea.

idk after beating this mods main story i was immediately thinking bout reworking Tei’s “antagonist” timeline lmao. It’s gonna be non-canon though since I’m “redoing” their story come the release of Extended Cut!
