"Kai's good with kids!" slightly incorrect. Kai is good with stubborn, troublesome kids. Dudes been shown to be dogshit when solely interacting with pretty much all people younger than him except for Nya, Lloyd, & Wyldfyre

He raised Nya, but we know that girl. We've seen her. I know she was a NIGHTMARE kid. She has strong opinions, holds grudges, and does whatever she wants. I love her for this. I also know teenage Kai was fighting for his LIFE. Lloyd was Little Shit Extraordinaire, and he didn't have the bonus of being blood-related to Kai, so Kai had 0 incentive to like him. Even still, Kai heard a small child in distress and immediately Locked In and decided awesome, I'm protecting you forever now. Wyldfyre similarly annoyed the absolute shit out of him, but Kai had his Growth. He still threw hands with Wyldfyre but the difference here is he knew she could fight back. He clocked pretty immediately she had an impatient temper but had a very strong love for her tiny family of 2 (oh hey s1 Kai when'd you get here) and in NO time began flawlessly mentoring.

Kai is like a guy who went to a camp for troubled youths, grew up, then decided to become a counselor at that same camp. He can wrangle a teenage dirtbag out of an alley like a stray cat but if you put him in the same room as a fairly normal kid he's looking at them like this

Okay having Many Thoughts (tm) but I think while its easy for all of us to kinda make fun of the scene where Frak explains Oni and Lloyd just stands by while he calls them inherently evil and whatnot, for me it personally shows something else

I’d already had this thought since season 1 when they were at the Temple of the Dragon Cores, which is that Lloyd doesn’t go to any length to tell them much unless he has to/ that he even actively hides the stuff that could be seen as “bad”

My assumption why he does this? to avoid getting hurt, someone using it against him, or judging him for it.

Harumi did it, Garmadon did it, the Overlord too. My dude knows there is no way it would be safe to go about telling everyone (or just accidentally the wrong person) he’s the grandson of god and part dragon AND oni in a chaotically dangerous world as the merged lands.

(That and saying he’s part oni/ making them sound “not that bad” would have probably raised some alarm bells in, yk, the middle of a dragonian village.)

There are WAY too many posts and comics 'educating' that an anxiety disorder is holding ur head and crying like a steven universe character when in reality the spectrum of anxiety behavior is limitless as it's a tool in ur brain and you, the unique individual, will output it in any number of ways based on who u are as a person and all the habits and behaviors you've come to be.

Online the language of 'what is and isn't an anxiety disorder' to me, has been poorly spoken. There are endless comics and write ups (hey this is a site for blogging, a lot of us aren't doctors) that are leaving out a crucial footnote of 'this is ONE version of anxiety disorder, in which there are many more' and that sorta blows!

A lot of these comics and blog posts come off incredibly more so as a vent piece and we should always be pro 'venting thru art', but fellas you GOTTA be fine tuning that point maybe, or if the proposed intention is truly 'I hope this helps' then i'd encourage a proof read before the post button. Likely i'm asking kids to edit their vent piece and that's also bonkers but this here's MY blog and you gotta eat grandpa's shlop if you're stickin around.

From my own seat, what i've absorbed online, it's made me believe a lot of personal behavior isn't coming from my anxiety disorder because i, do not fall over and cry in a ball when im having panic attacks. And it's been very hard trying to locate and determine what habits are damning to my health based on my anxiety issues because, like probably everyone else in this category i too, would like to try and gently fix my own toilet brain, down to the conversations i'll barf up, to the way i breathe in public, to the clothes i don't wear.

But for sure none of these posts on this site have helped me and instead brushed me into the idea that I couldn't have an anxiety disorder that several doctors have officially told me I have, because I do not fall into a ball and clasp my head and shake and cry to make a phone call. I don't know entirely where im rambling but if you too are a fella that ever thought 'I couldn't possibly have an anxiety disorder because I don't do That' and otherwise have had a lot of incredible signs on a 'gut feeling' level, maybe look into that when you have some time on hand. You can’t tell me that Ryunosuke was mentally okay after having to spend nearly two months in the room where his best friend died after desperately having to prove that he wasn’t the one who did it. He felt like he had to pick up his dead friends dreams and belongings because it would be suck a waste for them to be abandoned. He took on a whole career that he explicitly stated terrified him because he couldn’t stand letting Kazuma or Susato down.

Anyway there’s some psychological horror to being trapped in the room where someone you loved died just feet away from where you were sleeping for weeks and weeks with the only thing to occupy your mind being relentlessly studying to replace him.

The only picture he had of Kazuma was the crime scene photo staged to look like he was implicating him for the crime and he wouldn’t be able to just throw it away.

You just cannot tell me this guy didn’t suffer some amount of psychological distress and constant nightmares on the way to Great Britain.
