Some Haydove headcanons

Lenore Dove fell first. Haymitch fell harder.

Lenore Dove bullied Burdock into bringing Haymitch into the meadow so that they can officially meet and she can give him an introduction that he'll always remember that will totally make him fall in love with her (impeccable 10 year old logic that actually worked)

At the height of her crush, Lenore Dove named one of her geese Haymitch. (And he returned the favour many years later)

Haymitch worries about her rebellious tendencies getting her killed. Lenore Dove worries about his self deprecation/pessimism/possible passive suicidal ideation (that man does not live for himself)

Willamae made Sid tag along with them a lot to keep them out of trouble (teen pregnancy)

Haymitch still collects books over the years for Lenore Dove. The study (the only place in his house that's not a broken mess) sports a small library that he knows Lenore Dove would have loved.

Had she lived, Lenore Dove would have turned that ugly ass Victors House suburban lawn into a biodiversity garden. (A contrast to how dead and broken it is inside the house)

Everything Clerk Carmine and Tam Amber know about Haymitch, they learned against their will (young girl gushing about her first crush)
