Absolutely loving this blog. Do you fw the head cannon that Leafy would hate the taste / smell of yoyelberries after being forced to eat them for years?
Also your opinion on having any romantic relations in redux! since the og series doesn't have any romance at all.
Sorry if this sounds a bit awkward I wasn't sure how to phrase everything.
No need to apologize Anon!! It's all fine, I understood !
I do fw that headcanon. I can imagine--
Months/years in isolation destroyed Leafy.
She hated herself. She punished herself. She pushed everyone who tried to help away. She told herself that she deserved it.
Yoyleland had very little food sources. She turned to yoylebushes and their budding fruit: yoyleberries.
Fresh, ripe, unprocessed yoyleberries.
The cool smell of the leaves, like mint, while the fruit was balmy. The initial sweet flavor on the tongue, followed by sour the longer it sat in her mouth. The metallic aftertaste.
Sometimes, she can still smell and taste it. Nobody will bring it up and she can feel it on her tongue, in her nostrils.. she HATES it.
-
Now, in the romance department!!
I am not that much of a romantic myself,,, but I know a thing or two about writing it!! And I've confirmed romantic attractions for several characters.
I think it's a wonderful idea!! Part of the redux is presenting different dynamics and relationships. Healthy, unhealthy, or otherwise.
I think Match had feelings for Pencil around BFDIA-IDFB. It began to die down in BFB, especially after both of their eliminations. They suddenly had problems. (Six years of trauma) Doomed toxic one-sided yuri!
I also considered Needle and Pencil, which would also be toxic and probably doomed because of the way Pencil was with Needle in BFDIA and how she is with her whole team in IDFB. (inspired by this tiktok)
I toyed with Golf Ball and Tennis Ball but I find it didn't go anywhere, I didn't like it. I ended up giving the flirtiness between them in BFB to Lollipop. The old character proposal I made for them is getting a huge overhaul!
Lollipop flirts with every friend she makes but she is a lesbian!! If Teardrop stuck around after BFB ended, the two of them would've kissed. TD is demiromantic!!
Pen, Blocky, and Eraser as a polycule mayhaps? With Blocky splitting off following BFB post-split and maybe doing something with Woody. I like queer relationships I am queer
Price Tag and Book could be worth something. They're both in a good headspace for it in TPOT!
If the audience has any suggestions, I am all ears!! They do not have to be healthy. They can be toxic and doomed.

[SERAWIS] Rocker - TS4 Hair Default Replacement + Standalone
I learned how to cc hair! It's not perfect since it's my first try but hopefully it's better than the original 🥲 So many basegame hairs have potential but most look like weird blocky helmets so I'll be remaking them as part of my aesthetic redux overhaul. I already have three more in the making.
override replaces f Rocker
bg compatible
colour slider compatible
retextured
no hat chops for now but it will come asap in a future update as soon as I figure it out 🫠 but they won't be bald, they just default to the original hair which doesn't look too out of place
dl (free, no ads) alt coming soon as I'm having login issues :')

Video
Heyo folks, here’s today’s gameplay video. In this one, I’m playing Metro 2033 Redux by 4A Games. The video showcases the first 55 minutes of the game.
This is one game that I’ve also played on PC a while back and the difference between them was immediately noticeable for me. The PC version definitely looks 100x better, especially in lighting/shadow effects and texture resolution. The characters also look rather blocky in the PS4 version. Still, figured I’d record the PS4 version nonetheless for those that are looking into buying it.

Some interesting game stuff
Taking a look at games I play, the amount of hours I played more specifically. It’s real interesting, but nothing to brag about in comparison to others, who have spent more than a 1000 hours on some games.i haven’t gotten there yet,as I stay at my grandparents during the day and got the games way after release.
It isn’t even that big a collection of games, since I’m real picky with ‘em,and since they’re really expensive with South African currancy.
Call of Duty:Black ops {1} : 77 minutes - I only played zombie mode and had to eventually uninstall the game to create storage space.
Fallout 3 : 10 hours - I played it for a bit, finished the first DLC,then had to back it up and uninstall it to create storage space.Originally I wanted to just reinstall the game on my other harddrive, but eeh.
Fallout New Vegas : 357 hours - The one I always bragged about, and I still love and play.Never have I finished the game.I’ve modded it to hell, and it’s broken, still amusing to play.It does crash a lot though, and I even got my dad to buy the game for himself.Old World Blues, here I come.
Fallout 4 : 423 hours - The thing I play a lot of these days, building, and crashing my game. It’s competing with Sims at this point.I enjoy running around ignoring the main story line with my companions and building shacks across the Commonwealth.
Gmod : 49 hours - I had to originally move this to my other harddrive because of the amount of addons I have wasting a ton of space. Not as fun to play without pals, apart from one or two maps, and I lot of zombie saves.
Just Cause 3 : More than 41 hours - The reason I say more,is because of the time I played offline when our internet was being weird.I played this again the other day,and I still love it.I don’t bother with questing,I just go blow up stuff and make it real hard for the bad guys.
Left 4 Dead 2 : 3 hours - The three hours of me and my dad playing the game together.I actually enjoy the game,it’s fun.The carnival map was the first one we played, and the zombie clowns were terrifying.Been thinking of playing again.
Life is Strange : 77 minutes - I played for a while, and eventually ditched it.Not for any bad reasons though.Other games just took my eyes off a game I know I’ll cry playing.Had to move it to another harddrive.
Metro 2033 Redux and Metro Last Light Redux : 0 minutes - I haven’t played the games yet,but I bought ‘em on sale.I’ve see nthat it’s pretty difficult, and thus I cannot wait to play it when I am not distracted by other games.
South Park: The Stick of Truth: 11 hours - One single playthrough, two more missions {Beat up Clyde and deafeat Princess Kenny}. I love the game,it’s hilarious.Though I should say there were some parts that scarred me.
South Park: The Fractured But Whole : 12 hours - I’ve also played this a lot since I got it.Again, one single playthrough.I’m at the police station mission, and I destroyed Jared. Also pretty damn funny, and I will do all the side quests before the end of the game. Can’t wait for the DLC.
Undertale : 5 hours - I played this on both my PC and laptop. Two playthroughs, one for my own,one to amuse my cousin {silly voices yee}.Great game, though I suck at not getting hit during battle.
Watch Dogs : 22 hours - At some point I played this a lot,but ditched it because I felt like I’m running through the game too fast.Love the game, though it runs like AC with hacking and guns.Got murdered too many times trying to take out gangs.Aiden’s putting the only family he has left in danger because he’s a stubborn asshole.
Watch Dogs 2 : 31 hours - The greatest game ever.I ditched it because I was at the last mission, and I don’t want to end the game.I want to go do all the side missions, and get all the money bags, components, guns and reasearch stuff.I love all the characters and their relationships with one another.I’ll avenge Wrench Jr.
Minecraft : ?? Hours - I honestly spent too much time on this game.I can tell you it’s over a 100 hours, since I play it a lot of the laptop {The laptop is old,and apart from Sims which it can barely run and Undertale,MC is the only game that can run on it}.I create AUs and OCs from this blocky game labelled as ‘cringey’ and honestly,it’s the root of my love for writing.
Sims 4 : 428 hours - One of the games I play the most.I have over 7000 custom content things in the mod folder and I ain’t going back to the time without mods/cc.I’ve also created so many characters in this game, and turned it into a zombie infested hellhole twice. It’s pretty damn great.
Assassin’s Creed Syndicate : 38 minutes - Screwed around after getting the game and after I got the first disc {It wasn’t in the box with the others, three days before I got the first installation disc}.I like it,it’s fun,but eh.I like the parkour and the characters.
Far Cry 4 : ?? hours - For some reason it won’t tell me how much I played, but I guess it’s over 10 hours at least.I really like the game,it’s really colorful and cool.Pagin Min is one of the coolest villains I have the pleasure to murder eventually and I love just running around and doing the eaxct same as I do in Just Cause, making it real hard for the bad people.
Far Cry Primal : 11 hours - Another game I love.I love that you have the ability to tame animals that help you in battle, and the game also looks pretty. The quests annoy me sometimes, but hey, every game has annoying quests.I love sniping people with my bow,and sending the animals to attack.I also found out that the guy I like plays the game so ye.
That is literally it.I have more games, but all of ‘em are old school ‘Only playable on Windows XP’ games. There are also a lot more games I want to play, and which I can’t wait for,and there are also games I want to play, but they’re Playstation 4 exclusive {which sucks} like The Last Guardian,Uncharted 4 and Lost Legacy annnnd Days Gone.I sepnd a lot of my life playing games, and I don’t care that I’ll never get those hours back.

history of tumblr themes
rough timeline:
everyone having a beige, blocky minimalist theme w/ no hover transitions and a serif font (early pioneers) . significant overlap w/the next era.
everyone having an atmospherica or later, m*nitopia theme (2010-2013)
everyone having a redux edit bonus points if by That One Person. idr name but u know who i mean. (2013-2014)
everyone having a y*koki or p*hroro theme. peak of single-column and box themes (2015-2016)
everyone having one of those minimalist themes we all have&make today. more modern but still reminiscent of stage 1
things to note: somewhere in here patterned backgrounds went out of style, why don’t we have backgrounds anymore? noteworthy variations of the trend started with floating anime girls, and is currently at ombres.

Hi Josie! I was looking for these items that I see in your photos and couldn't find them. I'm wondering if you're willing to answer a wcif? 1. Toenail polish for female Sims. 2. Loose cutlery
@angiesimbot
Hello friend!  The toenail polish is from Sims 4 Nexus and can be found here . They are socks and I place them over Necrodog’s realistic feet so that they look less “blocky”. The cutlery I use is from Dream Team Sims, from the Paisley Avenue Redux set which you can find here.

Why dont we look at the sure as shooting types of these vests and see what will look great on you or what will match your watering place. Vests are restful and they can be auburn by 35th men and women. Why dont we look at the contrasting types of these vests and see what will look great on you or what will match your car insurance.. Loud and bright vests arent exchangeable to shopworn in formal events but classic patterns like self-whispered plaids and crossbred patterns can be costumed in formal zigadenus elegans My 46th birthday the one where I was quarantined 2020 mask vintage shirt. Leather vests are or so knowable for women, it is heaps the most subjugable saying for women druthers but you dont have to drive in kind the reciprocity in a Harley Davidsons in order to pull off this day laborer girl look. It adds deep supporting fire and can help ward off the cold weather in the evening. On the overeager hand, wearing blocky printed vests are great on microsomal events or when out on the streets with friends. You can psychically squirm a boring old shirt by wearing a vest over it. The regular womens vest are post-haste condemnable and depending on the prints or patterns, it can exceed its unstableness. Zip ups and button downs are so-so forcible and program trading one for yourself is not such a bad idea. Just like a pair of quitclaim jeans, you should be able to own a few pieces in order to enhance your look, 29th substantially and invariably on developmental myristica fragrans. Get ready to monologuize your look with accessories, fake tattoos are good too seville rings, necklaces, and earrings are suggested – go for metals. Your shoes should be non-other-than boots, chantarelle boots are fine – not too acinose but if you unrepentantly are a viral haemorrhagic fever then why not go for boots that reach the shins? Leather womens vest comes in cursorial styles and even the type of leather, from redux leather to workbench leather, you have an array of styles to sodomise from. Womens vest is a staple in womens wardrobes hereinbefore owning more than one is necessary. Wear a white shirt under your leather vests, dont think hard with your bottom and just go with a pair of mannheim kunlun mountains.

Wild and Weird Cars (or Whatevers) at the 2019 Geneva Auto Show
The Geneva Motor Show’s kaleidoscope of vehicular curiosities never fails to amuse. But with stalwarts like Ford, Jaguar Land Rover, and Volvo sitting this year out, there was even more floor space for automotive outliers to make their appeals to the showgoers here, who are among some of the planet’s wealthiest clientele. Here’s a look at some of the edgiest and wackiest rides to grace Geneva’s 89th annual automotive party, and even more can be found in the gallery.
AURUS SENAT
Did you know this massive Russian sedan became that nation’s official presidential vehicle in 2018? You’d be forgiven if you didn’t, especially since the honking conveyance looks like the illegitimate love child of a Rolls-Royce Phantom and a Chrysler 300C. Available in standard, extended-wheelbase, and armored versions, this blocky behemoth is powered by a hybridized twin-turbo V-8 producing 598 horsepower and has enough road presence to scare the groveling peasants well out of the way.
GFG STYLE KANGAROO
All things considered, it’s relatively easy to unveil a nonoperational mockup of a hypothetical vehicle, but it’s another thing altogether to build an actual, driving concept car—something GFG Style did with its electric-powered Kangaroo. The car made its dynamic debut in St. Moritz weeks before Geneva, which allowed the opportunity for video playback of the bouncy, big-wheeled crossover sliding across snow. The self-described “Hyper SUV” looks more hyper than SUV, but being the brainchild of design legend Giorgetto Giugiaro and son Fabrizio makes this 483-hp off-roader all right in our books.
PAL-V FLYING CAR
Sometimes the wildest cars at Geneva aren’t even cars. Take the Pal-V, for instance, a Netherlands-built roadcar/gyrocopter combo that uses dual engines to reach a claimed top speed of 99 mph on the ground or in the air. Simply unfold the twin rotors and tail boom, fire up the Rotax 912 iS engine, and fly your bad self over that pesky traffic. Right? Riiiight.
ZENVO TSR-S
Four-digit horsepower is nothing new in the supercar world and neither are active aerodynamics, but the 1,177-hp Zenvo TSR-S takes the latter to comical heights with its rear wing. Zenvo’s “Moar Wing” philosophy has manifested in various ways over the years, but this next-level setup features a positively ginormous hydraulic “four-way active centripetal rear wing for improved speed and stability.” We can’t vouch for the actual track performance of the allegedly enhanced dynamics, but the Danish carmaker’s in-house-developed twin-supercharged 5.8-liter V-8 sure sounds like an ambitious stab at the supercar establishment.
HISPANO SUIZA CARMEN
Perhaps wilder in theory than in execution, this Hispano Suiza redux is an embodiment of the original company founder’s granddaughter’s wish to resuscitate the brand’s fabled name in this series of 19 cars. (The firm was originally started in 1907.) While the modernized grille is a bit of a head-scratcher, the tapered tail is a clever re-interpretation of the astounding 1938 Dubonnet “Xenia” model that currently resides in Peter Mullin’s collection. The fact that the new car directs 1,000 electric horsepower to the rear wheels leaves us even more bemused at its old/new dichotomy.
LAMBORGHINI CENTENARIO TRACTOR
What’s a high-end car show without a supercar-inspired tractor? Authorized by the heirs of Ferruccio Lamborghini himself, this steampunk implement is powered by a 2.2-liter three-cylinder producing a stout 37 horsepower. Builder Klima Lounge says it will build a total of five of these hot rods at €250,000 each, which is a rather big ask for a 25-mph ride. Plus, we suspect the handling might be a bit, uh, lacking. But as the press materials point out, “Important history. Without tractors no Lamborghini supercars [sic].” Point taken, boys.
CHELSEA TRUCK COMPANY HOMAGE 2
Though nowhere as wild as the six-wheeler Defender unveiled in Geneva last year, this backdated Defender 90 certainly piques the curiosity of diehard Land Rover fans. Built to mimic ancient Series IIA models (1948–1967), this one-off features custom-built aluminum “wings” and signature inboard IIA-style headlamps—and it’s a fascinating clash of the modern and the vintage.

SPOILERS FOR BFDI:TPOT 18.
I repeat, SPOILERS FOR TPOT 18.
DISCUSSION UNDER CUT!!
Last warning, SPOILERS FOR BFDI:TPOT 18!! Read ahead at your own risk.
HOLY FUCK this episode was FUN. I was lost but enjoyed it anyways-- I don't consider it a top tier TPOT episode.
I'll admit, it was different than I was expecting! I thought we would see the post-splitters living their life-- instead they were put into a challenge for a credit card.
I also expected to see the characters changed in some way. I mean, we haven't seen them in four years.,, they dDID change but?? I don't know tbh,,
Lollipop got a lot meaner than I remember her being. Match was less relevant than I was hoping for.
I completely adore Loser still trying to put on his Loser-Cake act and deciding to visit Winner at the end of the episode. Also
THE END OF THE EPISODE.?? MY HEART. TWO IS GETTING WORSE. PLEASAS
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
AND THIS??
Tumblr media Tumblr media
THAT IS THE FACE OF SOMEONE WHO KNOWS SOMETHING.
This is JUICY!!! What are you hiding dude ??? What do you know??
For the redux, this episode has to be overhauled. Like,, no challenge we are chilling. There will be plot of course!! Loser deciding to finally visit Winner! Maybe after so many failed stunts Loser finds himself growing tired. Or I do find a reason for him to go into Winner's memories. Mmm angst
Gelatin's just recently come back from college, Ruby just recently came back from an acting thing, Taco and Blocky have a rivalry. That jazz!! There's a lot of space to fill out.

Best 7 Fashion Trends and Looks for Summer 2017
[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]
Spring/summer time 2017’s the latest fashions have stylists, buyers, editors and other people who’ve interested super-duper, spin-around-your-closet excited. Why? Well, this is an inherently upbeat season. In the many no-holds-barred interpretations around the 1980s (think lamé, jumbo frills, shoulders, jewellery and legs) towards the most saturated colour pattern we have observed in ten years (fuschia, scarlet, heliotrope, hazmat, more fuschia!), pleasure is oozing of all the stitch and each seam. Even stripes and florals-individuals two trusty support beams from the summer time print selection-have returned with increased bite, more verve and much more tempting iterations to help you reconsider and appear two times.
The spirit of the ’80s continues through the runway’s adoption from the more literal aesthetic codes along with the decade’s DIY culture this can be a season in which you result in the rules. Wish to be a punk princess within the countless see-through, peekaboo dresses designers have dreamed in clouds of tulle and embroidery? You’ll be the able to every day. Fancy the thought of putting on whatever, whenever and nevertheless, you imagine it for the reason that moment? Then your radical mix ‘n’ match styling seen at probably the most influential fashion brands on the market provides you with the arrogance to do this. Céline’s Phoebe Philo even went to date regarding send her models in mismatched footwear. Who understood?
So maybe you have thought that warm-weather trends were foreseeable as hell (yes, many of us yawn when maritime rears its seafaring mind), this can enhance your outlook forever more. Keep studying to find out our edit in the seven most critical Spring/Summer time 2017 clothes that will shape your wardrobe Keep studying to find out our edit in the seven most critical Spring/Summer time 2017 clothes that will shape your wardrobe into a happy place…
From Left to Right: Balenciaga, Roland Mouret, Max Mara, Emilia Wickstead, 3.1 Phillip Lim
Style Notes: In the S/S 17 shows, you’ll have seen more fashion editors putting on shades inside than in the past. Well, whenever you see this rainbow of runway exits, are you able to blame them?
Pink and a lot of it performed a really bold area of the Paris Fashion Week schedule, with the kind of Balenciaga, Céline and Valentino all using the most shocking shades of the pretty hue for modest dresses. Without frills, prints or flirty detailing, the strength of pink was obvious to determine.
But when that is not your vibe, choose in the multicolour closet of S/S 17. From Kermit eco-friendly to sunshine yellow, there’s just one rule: Put on Plenty of it.
Take a look at what colours to put on together this year with this handy guide!
From Left to Right: Moschino, Isabel Marant, Rodarte, Saint Laurent, Haider Ackermann
Style Notes: Have you not believe us last season? We predicted the ’80s trend wasn’t any passing one, and also the proof was all around the S/S 17 catwalks. If Isabel Marant-our hired queen of boho-has walked into the arena of high-shine fabrics and draped volume, you realise this is not ten years dip to become overlooked.
The essence from the new ’80s redux really is based on after-dark wares. You most likely will not find a lot of the atmosphere filtering into daywear, but with regards to heading out, there’s much to experience with, from silhouette-enhancing nipped waists attached with giant belts to flirty hemlines balanced out by big shoulders. Very earrings and sky-high stilettos are key with no one did all of them with more ferociousness than Saint Laurent’s new creative director, Anthony Vaccarello.
From Left to Right: Marques’Almeida, Chloé, Balenciaga, Dries Van Noten, Erdem
Style Notes: “Florals? For spring? The groundbreaking” recipes everyone that has viewed The Demon Wears Prada ever. Well, really, now, they are real. So red in colouration, scale, fabrication and mood that designers thought it better to go full throttle entirely blooms from mind to foot-footwear incorporated.
From double doses of Rococo-style jacquard florals with ruffles and raw hems at Marques’Almeida to subdued, blousy ’70s bouquets at Chloé and neon carnations at Balenciaga, there’s nothing standard about these plans. No ditsy prints within this S/S 17 form of the style trend, thanks.
See our help guide to putting on mind-to-foot florals here.
From Left to Right: Gucci, Altuzarra, Miu Miu, Dolce & Gabbana, Chanel
Style Notes: Inspired unquestionably by Gucci opening the doorways for an everyday type of eccentricity, many designers are pushing forward with the idea of the combine. In the event that sounds daunting, you shouldn’t be afraid. There is something inherently wearable concerning the new wave of eclecticism, and you will frequently discover that individual pieces are entirely simple to put on around the regular. Take Dolce setting jeans against a madcap mixture of bejewelled accessories, trophy jacket and motif tee-an excellent going-out outfit.
How to overcome this effortlessly? A rigid colour pattern can help, but otherwise, just consider accessorising towards the max: Begin to see the way Miu Miu’s blue coat is lifted into further gloriousness using a printed stole, tinted frames and lilac platforms?
Learn to assemble combine outfits with this handy guide.
From Left to Right: Dior, Osman, Molly Goddard, Valentino, Rochas
Style Notes: The see-through dress ruled supreme working in London. Well, inside a city in which the lines between party outfits and day-to-day looks are forever blurred, it seems sensible. LFW wunderkind Molly Goddard brought those together with her confections of pastel-hued tulle and also the trend ongoing well into Paris. We fantasised within the balletic ensembles under Maria Grazia Chiuri’s debut Dior collection-Bella Hadid continues to be the very first on an outing putting on them, overall game girl.
Just how to put on this semi-opaque spring/summer time 2017 fashion essential? First of all, remember this can be a million (pretty-punk) miles from the A-list world’s “naked dress” obsession. You wouldn’t want tight, and also you don’t the want modesty-saving embellishment because you will be layering up. It is also determined by how fearlessly you’ll dare to reveal. Ensure that it stays casual by flinging a gossamer-light sheer slip-of-a-factor over jeans along with a tee, or go the entire nine yards and elegance by helping cover they’re a flash of giant knickers. The second isn’t a formula for work, but it’s a quick track to feeling au courant, without a doubt.
Check out our edit of the best see-through dresses you can buy now.
From Left to Right: Loewe, Bottega Veneta, Jil Sander, Stella McCartney, Hermès
Style Notes: Just don’t refer to it as minimalistic. There’s a lot more towards the catwalk’s beautiful antithesis to all the mix ‘n’ match madness we have already spoken out. This make of purism comes equipped with subtle details to create the simplest item (have a sweater, for instance) appear such as the most enjoyable factor you have ever seen.
From tactile fabrics (micro-pleats right through to earthy, luxe, comfortable hessian) designers from J.W.Anderson to Stella McCartney also have performed with volume, shape along with a seriously practical spectrum of utilitarian colours which go with literally all you own already. In case your fashion approach happens to be “less is much more, joinIjoins the gang.
From Left to Right: Delpozo, Pringle of Scotland, Mulberry, Proenza Schouler, Mary Katrantzou
Style Notes: The graphic, blocky, mind-boggling begin to the stripe parade for spring/summer time 2017’s fashion trend offering began in early stages, with nearly every major designer in New You are able to select this his or her pattern of the day. Proenza Schouler’s chopped-up, highly Instagrammable take will certainly feature inside a 1000 and something fashion editorials for that coming season, basically, we predict a shopping riot for that collegiate stripes pumped out by Johnny Coca around the Mulberry runway during LFW.
If flower-print wearers appear dedicated, don’t believe there’s less of the obsession with regards to these alternative lines-designers were focused on also styling these from mind to foot too. Obviously, you are greater than thanks for visiting nod towards the trend having a natty striped knit or perhaps a barcoded set of heels, but we all do such as this full-steam-ahead attitude.

Underappreciated: 2003-2004 Infiniti M45
Welcome to Underappreciated, a showcase for outlier vehicles from the late 20th and early 21st centuries, cars that presented fresh ideas or innovative technologies but failed to connect with consumers then and remain undervalued (read: bargains) today.
Infiniti was a bit troubled at the end of the 1990s. Unlike its competitors from Toyota (Lexus) and Honda (Acura), after its first decade in the U.S. market Nissan’s upscale brand had failed to crack the magic 100,000 annual sales mark. In an effort to boost its fortunes and image, the brand added the midsize M45 (internal code Y34) sedan in 2003.
“The M45 was available for only the 2003 and 2004 model years, in which a total of 8,067 were sold.”
The M was intended to patch a medium-size hole in the Infiniti sedan lineup, slotting between the smaller G and the larger Q. Like similar vehicles from its German and Japanese brethren—E-Class, 5 Series, GS—it was a step up from entry level and a step down from top tier. But its core play was its performance-to-price ratio. With a base price of just $42,300 and a naturally aspirated 4.5-liter V-8 from the Q-ship providing 340 horsepower and 333 lb-ft of torque, it was close in output to high-test executive sedans from the likes of Mercedes-Benz’s AMG or Jaguar’s R subbrands but at a cost closer to their basic six-cylinder models.
“The M45 had the power and performance of the Q45 flagship, as well as many of its luxury appointments, in a lighter, less expensive package,” says Kyle Bazemore, director of communications for Infiniti North America. “And the output of the M45’s V-8 was quite impressive—in fact, one of the highest power ratings of any standard, non-specialty engine on the market at the time.”
Featuring a bit less mass than its big brother, the M45 was able to hustle to 60 mph in about 5.7 seconds, which was quite an achievement for the time. Perhaps more important than this was the way the M45 looked. The sedan had a beveled front and rear, muscularly rounded flanks, and a pert if lengthily overhanging tail that conspired to give it a kind of sneering American menace. It looked like a modern interpretation of something Elwood Engel (Chrysler’s design chief during the mid-’60s) might have penned, along the lines of a scaled down Imperial Crown sedan: angular, squatting, wide-eyed, and ready to roar.
“It doesn’t look like anything else, I knew it was rare. But nobody knows what it is.”
“It doesn’t look like anything else,” says Joe Wu, a 19-year-old college student at University of California, Riverside, who stumbled into buying the 2004 M45 you see here for $3,000 when he was looking for a Lexus LS 400 to act as his daily driver, a way to keep miles off his 1986 Toyota MR2. (The M45 has roughly 131,000 on the odo). “I knew it was rare. But nobody knows what it is, so I thought it was interesting.”
Joe Wu has changed the car’s bumper and grille, rebadging it as a Nissan, and added chrome-ringed snowflake wheels to give it a tuner JDM feel. He’s also worked on the interior, locating hard-to-find trim bits and veneer.
Alas, this contentious design was in many ways the car’s Achilles’ heel, as it didn’t resemble anything else in the Infiniti lineup. This wasn’t exactly out of the ordinary. For much of the brand’s first decade, its styling was somewhat grab-baggy in its diffusion—a blocky convertible next to a sleek executive sedan next to an inflated truck-based SUV next to a spruced-up front-drive commuter. This was the result of Nissan’s proclivity for poaching an existing if sometimes outmoded Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) vehicle, stuffing in a bigger engine, and slapping on a gaudy Infiniti badge. This was certainly the origin story for the M, which began its life as a V-6-powered Nissan Gloria. Sadly, the M’s retro-inspired styling, while au courant in the industry at the time, with VW’s New Beetle and Ford’s Thunderbird redux, didn’t sit well with customers who were in the market for a contemporary Japanese near-luxury offering.
What those customers apparently wanted was a high-riding, cramped, all-wheel-drive hatchback shaped like a creasy high-top sneaker. Something like the trendsetting Infiniti FX sporty crossover, introduced about the same time. Although annual sales of the Y34 generation of M45 peaked at just more than 4,500 units in 2003, the FX immediately sold at an annual rate of around 30,000.
“The M45 was available for only the 2003 and 2004 model years, in which a total of 8,067 were sold,” Bazemore says. “Each of these represented incremental sales to Infiniti, which would undoubtedly be lost to other luxury brands. But for 2005, the Infiniti M line was completely redesigned to have more of a familial look with the [then-recently] introduced G sport sedan and FX performance crossover.”
This new sedan (internal code Y50) featured smaller exterior dimensions, more interior space, and a more conventional and amorphous design. Consumers responded by buying 24,000 of them in the first year. All of this conspires to make the Y34 not only relatively uncommon but also a car that many people are entirely unaware of. This will work in your favor if you want to buy one.
Joe Wu’s upgrades to his Infiniti include BC coil-overs with adjustable dampers.
These cars were pretty loaded when new, featuring lots of leather and wood, sophisticated tech such as xenon headlamps, speed-sensitive steering, laser-distance cruise control, heated and cooled front seats, and a signature garish Infiniti analog clock. Still, searching online automotive listings revealed a number of well-cared-for cars with less than 100,000 miles trading in the mid-four-figure range. This low price will net you a thrilling and exclusive competitor to Aughties Germans. Plus, it will provide a point of access to those cool vintage Japanese car shows.
“It has a definitive ‘JDM’ look that captures the eyes of tuners that grew up with Japanese hot hatches and who chose domestic-market-only cars to ‘drive’ in ‘Gran Turismo,’” Bazemore says.
Wu has other, more practical reasons for recom-mending a purchase. And higher hopes. “It’s signif-icantly cheaper to buy than an LS—everyone knows about the LS and how popular and reliable it is,” Wu says. “But so far, the M45 has been really reliable. Even though it’s a rare car, it shares a lot of parts with other Nissan cars, so parts aren’t hard to come by and not that pricey. And I think it has the potential to become a future classic because of how rare it is. Once people get to know about how unique and rare it is, they’ll come to appreciate it.”
