This was done for Goran Gligovic's art prompt on BlueSky to draw a medieval knight with green armour and a grotesque themed helmet, which I started as a fun little thing and ended up getting WAY into. A challenge but fun!!

Honestly this type of thing is great. By this point, Vox Machina has killed a dragon that was masquerading as a council member; banished a demon that was possessing Uriel's family and mind-controlling him; killed the Dread Emperor and returned the children he abducted, including Uriel's son; and now killed a beholder and returned the Horn of Orcus. And Uriel still does not trust them unconditionally—nor should he! He trusts them enough to make them members of the Tal'Dorei Council, but he's smart enough to realize that doesn't make them invincible and incorruptible, and Vox Machina is pragmatic enough to understand his point. It's a great dynamic.

Orcus,god of punishment: Let's see what my favorite son is doing.

Bryce currently stalking Reyna,Hedge and Nico during their mission:

Orcus,with an higher voice: What is he doing? Wait– is that Hades's son? As in the prince of the Underworld??

I wonder if Nico ever got in trouble for murdering Bryce. In any way. Like. Of course Bryce’s ghost and Orcus his father would be hell bent on getting “justice” (read: revenge).

Imagine the underworld probably had some kind of court trial for him. Nico probably plead guilty to manslaughter and to self defensive of himself and two of his loved ones. Orcus and Bryce were both raising Cain and had to be help back from lunging at Nico several times.

Hades seemed nonchalant but defensive of Nico during the trial but afterwards when they’re alone he probably scolded his son for loosing control of his powers in such a deadly fashion. This scolding would be the worst of any punishment Nico got from the underworld.

It was probably the biggest gossip in the underworld for a while. “Oh did you hear about the demigod prince taking advantage of his privilege and literally getting away with murdering somebody in broad daylight on a crowded street”.

He is a nerdy, geeky, smart, anxious, gossipy prankster who doesn't always think things through when getting up to mischief with his step cousin, Tulip. He's also a bit of a smartass and he is terrified of fire, termites, dolls, and puppets.

So acording to this christan source Hades had a twin sister that died at a young age, i dont want to pretend that this is a trustworthy source but since we know so a low percent about greek mythology this could possibly be a lost myth that slipped through the cracks of oblivion.

TELL ME ABOUT YOUR OCS

well. you did ask.

(cut for the people who don't want to scroll past my ramblings)

SO. I can't tell you about everybody so I'm going to tell you about the most developed family so far: the family of the male lead, Kerwin Delaney.

This is the family tree (red is the line of succession):

It's a world that's pretty much like a Korean manhwa historical world, so some unnamed time period (probably like the late 1700s/early 1800s if it's not just a mishmash) but it's not accurate - as you can see, women can inherit titles. This tree is a biiiit of a spoiler because we don't learn that Lola inherits the title until right at the end of the story. Until then, it's presumed that the eldest, Kerwin, will inherit the title. Nothing is solidified until the eldest turns 21; Kerwin is probably like 18.

In this world, the 4 grand duchies are the four horsemen of the apocalypse and the royal family maintains the balance in order to prevent, y'know, the end of the world. The Delaneys are "death" - they rule over Ortem, which is a mix between the words 'orcus' and 'mortem' but turned out more like I just took the m off mortem. "Delaney" means 'dark challenger' which I thought was good enough.

Morana Delaney

My favourite Delaney is Morana, the grand duke's younger sister (and therefore Kerwin's aunt). Morana is named after a slavic goddess of death & winter; her nickname is "princess of death" because, well, she's from death family and she was the 'princess'. She's renowned for her beauty, even though she has the trademark Delaney white hair, which everyone thinks is super creepy. She was supposed to marry the king in order to maintain the balance of power (each grand duchy takes turns at this) but the king was too scared of her, so he ran off with the daughter of a Marquis and Morana was home free. She now lives in one of the Delaney vacation homes - and didn't bother trying to get married again. She doesn't want to! She lives her iconic rich girlboss life, running businesses under the Delaney name and helping the Grand Duke whenever life gets on top of him. 10/10 Morana is my best creation.

Adrian Delaney

Adrian lost his wife very early on, but does his best not to let that get in his way when it comes to doing his job(s) - running the duchy, and raising his four kids. He's a really good dad, actually, because I didn't want him to be a stereotypical 'duke of the north'. He also has the Delaney white hair, though it's dark streaked because he's a bit older now - in his early 40's I think. He's a capable duke, and though he expects Kerwin to take on the title he doesn't stop Maveth & Hadeon from taking heirship lessons alongside their older brother, because who knows what will happen in the future? However, after the loss of his wife he and his sons became extremely overprotective of Lola, insisting she would just live a life of leisure forever, so she didn't take lessons.

Dolores Delaney

Lolaaaaaa!!! Her name means "sorrows" because, through no fault of her own, she kind of makes everyone sad since she looks so similar to her mother. Her white hair has a barely-there lilac tinge to it that only really appears in certain lights. Lola is a once-in-a-lifetime genius, and she secretly teaches herself all the heirship skills she needs to eventually step forward and join the 'struggle' (it's just a fair competition/test) for the heirship once Kerwin announces that he's not going to take it on. Lola has a quick temper and is especially irritated by her brother's overprotectiveness - ESPECIALLY Hadeon's, since he's literally younger than her??? He's practically a baby??? She's the one who should be protecting him???

Kerwin Delaney

Our male lead! In an attempt to prevent the stereotypes of a northern duke male lead, Kerwin is by no means an omnipotent genius who knows everything and can do everything. Of course, he's extremely capable & confident, but this comes from his experience and hard work. Kerwin is more of a golden retriever than a black cat, and will eventually give up his heirship to marry the female lead (the heir to the throne, therefore writing the wrongs of the previous king (he refused to marry morana)). Kerwin's a good big brother and a responsible son, as friendly as is suitable for a duke's son, but insecure of his 'creepy' white hair (basically, he doesn't wanna be scary or isolated). Kerwin is absolutely my son, because he was the ONLY ONE who had a name & personality before the world was built. One could argue, my world was built around him, because he's been hanging out in my mind since FOREVER. I can't remember if I ever published it, but he's appeared as an OC in fanfiction before. I just love him.

Maveth & Hadeon Delaney

These guys... don't really have personalities yet. Maveth is about 15 and Hadeon no older than 8, although to be honest I'd like him to be closer to 5 if that didn't mess up the mother's-death-maths so much. I'm still working on it! Maveth is a skilled swordsman and Hadeon doesn't really have any noticeable genius or vocation yet, though he may develop one in the future. At the moment he just hangs around Lola as her 'guard' because he idolises his big brothers, and they want her protected.

The Last Night on the Moon

From the last known writing of Enigrim Shadowander, Knight Seneschal of Bloodstone & member of the Companions of the Noble Heart

My aberrant/celestial sorcerer gnome/svirfneblin from the last campaign we finished. An adaptation of the 2E Bloodstone campaign that goes to level 100 because you need to kill Orcus. Enigrim was a strange from the jump and only got stranger the more time passed. He has extendo limbs and so many eyes and just wanted to reach the stars. Then he basically adopted a centaur and a pixie (who had been human), married a different centaur, and had a child who was marked by Selune.

Needless to say, a TIME was had. (lol)

Ultimately, he made it thru the fight with Orcus but sacrificed himself removing a wasting curse from his pixie not-son. He felt immense guilt over accidentally becoming supernaturally evil - the one thing he'd sworn to avoid since childhood - and was certain this was his duty. Trying to say goodbye in the last few hours before the rest of the party had to go wound Tiamet to ensure the death of Orcus led to some great RP with everyone else, including the short letter above which Enigrim handed to his best friend to deliver.

Why would Nico get in trouble for defending himself from the guy trying to murder him?

Exactly see that’s the thing. Nico wouldn’t actually get in trouble. The worst he would get is a 2 minute scolding from Hades to be more careful about his powers and maybe Orcus and Bryce seeking revenge on him (or maybe just Orcus if Nico fully turned Bryce into nothing but a shade)

I mean he technically did murder the guy and Nico and Reyna were technically breaking a whole bunch of Roman laws in order to transport the statute to Camp Half-Blood. This would be the basis of Orcus’s plaintiff in the trial. And the underworld probably has some type of justice system for this kind of thing and Orcus would most likely be upset by his son being murdered even if he was to blame Orcus would still seek a trial. He is one of the biggest Roman cthonic deities after all.

But there would almost definitely not be a sentencing in Nico’s trial. He may be found guilty with manslaughter-he didn’t even mean to kill Bryce after all he was just upset that he hurt Reyna-and that manslaughter would be in the context of self defense of himself and Hedge and Reyna. Bryce had them all detained by skeletons that Nico had to overpower and steal from Bryce to destroy them.

With the facts of self defense and manslaughter, plus Nico’s privilege as the son of the king of the underworld, plus Bryces unsavory record history of murdering his own centurion and an innocent cat and being banished from camp Jupiter, Nico wouldn’t even get a slap on the wrist from this trial. He gets away entirely free of charges (as he should). No sentencing at all.

And I imagine Orcus and Bryce would be very unpleased with that. I can totally see Orcus trying to cause problems for Nico in the future for revenge-both legally in the underworld trying to ruin Nico’s credit as well as physically by sending monsters after him. Hades would probably try to shut Orcus down as much as possible but some stuff slips through the cracks, some stuff Hades has no way of knowing about and Nico may suffer because of Orcus and what he did to Bryce.

If anything Nicos trial may actually bring up another trial just for Bryce to have him transferred to punishment for his crimes and Orcus probably having to scramble to defend him and vying even more revenge on Nico.

A spawn of Kyuss, also known as a son of Kyuss[5] (pl: sons of Kyuss), was a type of zombie capable of quickly spreading its undead condition by infecting other creatures with worms.

In the dark or from a distance, spawn of Kyuss resembled ordinary zombies. Closer inspection, however, revealed that its corpse was covered in withering worms that were capable of jumping onto nearby humanoids.

A spawn of Kyuss was different from an ordinary zombie in the sense that the soul of the original creature remained trapped inside its body. The soul remained awake and aware of its situation, a knowledge that invariably drove the spawn to insanity.

In combat, spawn of Kyuss primarily used their claws as weapons, as well as their worms. Worms that successfully landed on a living creature quickly burrowed through the skin and started eating their way into it. A sufficiently numerous infection of worms was capable of killing a creature in a matter of seconds. A few minutes after death, the corpse rose as a new spawn.

Suffering injuries from a spawn of Kyuss could result in a victim contracting advanced leprosy.

Kyuss created the first spawn by plundering corpses from necropolises during the time when he was a high priest of Orcus. They were seen as expressions of Orcus's intent to turn all life into undeath. Long after Kyuss's death, his zombies continued to spread his infection.

By 1372 DR, spawn of Kyuss could be found in inhabited areas of the Upperdark.
