Hello! Have you heard of the Australian dessert 'Frog in a Pond'? It is just a cup of jelly with a chocolate frog set into it. Mostly a staple of kids parties but sometimes you can get one from the children's menu at a pub. Just to be another stranger announcing misc frog related things to you in case you hadn't already heard of it! Have a good day! Thanks for the fun and interesting blog!
Umm no but this is spectacular. Here in Denmark there is the Kaj Cake, based on a television character.

Toshiro/Shuro is overhated
(mirror of my thread on twitter)
ever wanted to talk abt something so bad but u have so many thoughts so u cant even begin to organize a sentence. thats me abt shuro and its why i cant give my thoughts on him. i NEED to get this out of my system bc its takign up so much memory in my brain i need that space for thinking.
so i was really surprised to find so much hate for him even tho he seems pretty normal and rational out of the whole cast. ive deducted that its mostly abt his laios fight and that the ppl who hate him probably had bad experiences w social cues and relationships w neurotypicals bc of that. theres no way to avoid it bc its pretty much Right In Your Face that laios is ND. but thats not the only factor in why their relationship is rocky. its also the culture barrier. u have to understand toshiro was raised as JAPANESE NOBILITY ofc he would be a little conservative
also culture shock. idk if u know this but jp culture is very Mind Your Own Business like a lot of other asian cultures . ofc hes gonna be weirded out by a stranger invading his space. also his names not even Shuro. its just yt ppl not pronouncing his name right and settling for whats easiest.
img src: fan translation by savaralyn2 , i think its from the adventurers bible Complete Edition bc i dont remember it in the old one
ok you get the gist of the culture aspect of it. lets go into the ND/NT clash aspect of it. yes i understand its pretty hurtful to never be told when youre acting inappropriately. i am autistic too lmao. but you have to understand that shiro is one guy and he even does realize that repressing things is one of his fatal flaws. again. asian culture. non confrontational. that sorta thing. but these are genuine frustrations. if i were him id be annoyed too but id speak out about it. set boundaries. bc im blunt. shiros not. he was taught crazy strict manners (hierarchies, respect, politeness, etc).
his problem isnt ableism its a culmination of culture barriers, how he was raised to behave, and terrible lack of communication as thing caused by "all of the above" plus he just generally keeps to himself a lot which means repressing frustrations that will explode leading to a pathetic fistfight while hes starved, exhausted, and dehydrated. also. if he was ableist he would hate laios. he doesnt hate laios. at the end of the day, they are friends. NT and ND ppl can be friends u know. there will be rifts (like their fight) but you just have to communicate misunderstandings. theyre gonna be fine lol
anyways that was my whole spiel abt it. i think i got everything out that i wanted to? my head still feels a little full so i may add more later when i remember something
also i think its a little unfair to rule out the possibility of laios and him just being 2 very different kinds of ND bc its very common for misunderstandings to occur even then. EVERYONE IS DIFFERENT BUT WE NEED TO COMMUNICATE TO UNDERSTAND EACH OTHER! but for the sake of interpreting the Fight as a commentary on NT social rules and ND frustration, ill say toshiros NT. will we ever know? hes so far in the sidelines... youd really have to dig in the extra content to see the intricacies of his character.... please give him a chance

Family Album: A Solo Journaling Game FAQ
Earlier this week I released a solo journaling game, Family Album, on DriveThruRPG, so here are some FAQ that nobody asked and I completely made up as an excuse to talk about this game I'm very proud of.

[Image ID: Front cover of the game Family Album. Beneath the title it reads "a card based solo journaling RPG about being a parent looking through your family photos." Above the title is a slanted photo of a young child walking through a field of grass. She wears a purple coat and her blonde curly hair is tied up in a ponytail.]
1. Do I need to be a parent to play Family Album?
No! Half of my playtesters weren't parents but still had an enjoyable experience and found value in the gameplay.
2. Can I use this game to create a backstory for my character in X, Y, or Z system?
Sure thing! The roleplay questions and scene prompts can be interpreted in a time and universe agnostic way, so go for it!
3. Do I have to model my parent character on my real life self?
Not at all, and I recommend that you don't. Emotional bleed is a real thing and can bring down your mood. You set the tone of the album. Do what's best for your mental health and engage in after care!
4. What if I don't want to play as a parent?
You don't have to! There are variations for playing as the child or a complete stranger. You can customise your experience to suit your needs.
5. Who drops a solo journaling game with next to no warning on a random Tuesday in July?
Me
If you like reflective, thoughtful journaling games, pick up your copy of Family Album for $2.99 here (free community copies are available): https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/445539?src=TumblrFAQ

<title>Sunset on the Grid: The Strange Science, Culture, and Spectacle of Manhattanhenge</title>
</head>
<body style="font-family:Arial, sans-serif; line-height:1.6; color:#333; max-width:800px; margin:auto; padding:20px;">
<h1>Sunset on the Grid: The Strange Science, Culture, and Spectacle of Manhattanhenge</h1>
<p><strong>By [Author Name]</strong></p>
<p>Twice a year, New Yorkers pause in their daily sprint to witness something almost otherworldly—<strong>Manhattanhenge</strong>. In a city defined by vertical ambition, it's the horizontal that steals the show: the setting sun aligns perfectly with Manhattan’s grid, casting golden rays down the east-west corridors and lighting the city in surreal brilliance. It’s part natural phenomenon, part urban design marvel, and entirely New York.</p>
<h2>A Celestial Coincidence</h2>
<p>This semiannual event was first named and popularized in the early 2000s by astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson. He saw a parallel between the stone solstice alignments of Stonehenge and the modern steel canyons of New York. But the alignment itself has existed since the <strong>Commissioners' Plan of 1811</strong> laid the street grid 29 degrees off true east-west. That slight tilt makes all the difference.</p>
<img src="https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/e/e5/Manhattanhenge_sunset.jpg" alt="Manhattanhenge Sunset in Manhattan" style="width:100%; height:auto; margin:20px 0;">
<h2>Half Sun vs. Full Sun: What’s the Difference?</h2>
<p>Each Manhattanhenge cycle brings two types of sunsets:</p>
<ul>
<li><strong>Half Sun</strong>: The upper half of the sun is visible just above the horizon. A preview of the phenomenon. Subtle, poetic, and fleeting.</li>
<li><strong>Full Sun</strong>: The entire solar disk sits centered in the street canyon, creating a glowing orb effect. More vivid, dramatic, and powerful.</li>
</ul>
<p>Half sun always precedes full sun in each seasonal cycle. In 2025, the alignments occur on:</p>
<ul>
<li><strong>May 28</strong> (Half Sun) – 8:13 PM ET</li>
<li><strong>May 29</strong> (Full Sun) – 8:12 PM ET</li>
<li><strong>July 11</strong> (Full Sun) – 8:20 PM ET</li>
<li><strong>July 12</strong> (Half Sun) – 8:22 PM ET</li>
</ul>
<h2>Best Streets and Viewing Tips</h2>
<p>The most iconic locations for viewing Manhattanhenge include:</p>
<ul>
<li><strong>34th Street</strong> (Empire State Building)</li>
<li><strong>42nd Street</strong> (Chrysler Building)</li>
<li><strong>57th Street</strong> (Classic skyline views)</li>
<li><strong>Tudor City Overpass</strong> (Elevated and unobstructed)</li>
<li><strong>Hunter’s Point South Park (Queens)</strong> (Reverse perspective of Manhattan)</li>
</ul>
<img src="https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/5/57/Manhattanhenge_2014.jpg" alt="Crowds watching Manhattanhenge in NYC" style="width:100%; height:auto; margin:20px 0;">
<h2>The Cultural Impact</h2>
<p>In New York, even the sunset gets an audience. Tourists, photographers, and locals flood the streets. Taxis honk. People cheer. Strangers clap together. Art is made. Photos go viral. Rooftop bars fill up with solar-chasers sipping cocktails named after celestial bodies. The city stops—just a little—to pay attention.</p>
<h2>What If It Rains?</h2>
<p>When clouds spoil the show, disappointment runs deep. But what if there were an alternative event? Enter the idea of <strong>“Shadowhenge”</strong>—a contingency celebration with LED light installations simulating the solar alignment, live music, projections, and archival footage. With enough imagination, the backup could be just as magnetic as the real thing.</p>
<h2>Could Boston Have a ‘Henje’ Moment?</h2>
<p>Probably not. Boston’s winding streets, many of them formed by cow paths, lack the geometric predictability of Manhattan’s grid. Other cities like Chicago or Toronto offer grid alignments, but Manhattanhenge remains uniquely New York—a synthesis of astronomy and architecture, nature and planning, sunlight and steel.</p>
<p><strong>For ten minutes twice a year, New York City synchronizes with the solar system. And that’s worth showing up for.</strong></p>

Why Scuba Diving in Andaman is Perfect for Beginners
1. When the Sea Calls, You go
There are some journeys we meticulously plan—spreadsheets, itineraries, Google Docs with color-coded hotel options. And then there are the journeys that happen to us. The ones that start not with a plane ticket, but with a feeling. A longing. A silence that grows a little too loud to ignore.
That’s the kind of journey that led me to the Andaman Islands.
I wasn’t chasing adrenaline. I wasn’t even looking for an adventure. I wanted to escape—life, city lights, headlines, the fatigue of constantly being “on.” So, when a friend suggested scuba diving in Andaman, I laughed and said, “Maybe next time.”
But sometimes, the sea has plans for you.
2. Of Fears, Fins, and the First Dive
We reached Havelock Island on a sleepy afternoon, the kind where the sun seems undecided and the sea looks like it’s humming to itself. The island smelled of salt, rain-soaked trees, and something nostalgic.
The next morning, I walked into a local dive shop, still unsure. The dive instructor, Arjun, had kind eyes and the kind of calm you only see in people who spend a lot of time underwater.
He said, “You’ll love the silence. That’s the real magic.”
I signed up. Half-reluctantly, half-curious.
That first dive is now inked in my memory like a poem.
The gear felt foreign at first. The tank was heavier than expected. The wetsuit clung tightly to my city-soft skin. But as I lowered myself into the water, clutching Arjun’s arm like a lifeline, something shifted.
youtube
<iframe width="100" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/vYszAvBXdyM?si=Jy3Iphvq7-VzU1vD" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" referrerpolicy="strict-origin-when-cross-origin" allowfullscreen></iframe>
I went under.
And then… quiet.
Not the kind of silence that echoes. This was the kind that fills you.
I remember the surreal feeling of my own breath, loud through the regulator. Bubbles danced toward the surface like messages to the sky. I saw clownfish playing hide and seek in sea anemones, and coral that looked like God had gone wild with colors. A parrotfish stared at me like I was the intruder. Maybe I was.
And yet, I belonged.
That’s the spell of scuba diving in Andaman. You come in as a stranger. You leave a little more whole.
3. The Heart of the Ocean
Andaman doesn’t just offer water. It offers depth. Literally and metaphorically.
There’s something sacred about floating weightless, watching life carry on without you. Sea turtles glide like wise monks. Starfish sit unmoving, patient. Moray eels peek out like introverts at a party. Every reef tells a story—a slow one, with no rush.
Arjun later told me some of these coral formations were thousands of years old. I thought about the stories they must’ve seen—shipwrecks, storms, lovers who dove in holding hands. Everything that ever mattered and didn’t.
What I loved most was the humility it imposed. We live our lives thinking we are the center of the universe. One dive in Andaman tells you: you are not. And that’s a relief.
4. Radhanagar Beach and the Photos That Spoke
Post-dive, I wandered off to Radhanagar Beach—not because someone recommended it, but because the name sounded poetic.
I reached just as the sun began its slow descent, spilling golden ink across the water. I didn’t speak. I just stood there, barefoot, salty, a little transformed.
And then I began taking photos.
I didn’t plan for a Radhanagar beach photoshoot, but the light demanded to be captured. Locals played beach cricket. A woman held her dupatta against the wind and laughed. A couple sat in silence, fingers barely touching, as if afraid they’d break the moment.
Every click of the camera felt like a prayer. Every frame, a memory.
That evening, I didn’t just take photographs. I collected pieces of peace.
5. The Islands Teach You to Breathe
The thing no one tells you about diving is how it follows you back to land. You start noticing your breath. The rhythm of your walk. The way the waves never repeat but always return.
I ended up staying longer than planned. Another dive. Then one more.
Each time, I felt myself shedding something—stress, doubt, ego. The water took them and gave me clarity.
One afternoon, Arjun and I sat on driftwood watching the sea. He said, “People come here to see fish. But they end up seeing themselves.”
I nodded. I didn’t need to say a word.

6. More Than Just a Trip
Andaman isn’t a checklist destination. You don’t “do” Andaman. You feel it.
Sure, there are the usual tourist things—the Cellular Jail, Ross Island’s ghostly charm, the boat rides through mangroves. But the magic? It’s in the unsaid.
It’s in that morning cup of chai at a beach shack. It’s in the way strangers become dive buddies and then friends. It’s in the salt that lingers in your hair long after you’ve dried off.
Scuba diving in Andaman isn’t a bucket list item. It’s a reset button.
And that Radhanagar beach photoshoot? Those photos now sit framed on my wall. Not because they’re perfect, but because they remind me who I was before the sea held me.
7. Tips for Your Dive Trip
If you’re considering scuba diving here, here are a few things I wish I knew:
No, you don’t need to be a swimmer. Most intro dives are designed for non-swimmers with full guidance.
Go with certified dive shops. Ask for PADI/SSI credentials.
Book in advance if you’re visiting during season (Oct–May).
Listen more than you speak. Underwater and above it.
Don’t rush your itinerary. These islands reward patience.
FAQs
1. Is scuba diving in Andaman safe for beginners?

3. What's the best time for scuba diving in Andaman?
October to May is ideal for clear waters and pleasant weather.
4. Can I bring my camera for a Radhanagar beach photoshoot?
Absolutely. Golden hour here is magical for both candid and professional shots.

@flybcll asked → " You seemed a million miles away just then. " ( src. / accepting. )
Brant doesn't react in surprise to the statement thrown his way.
In the first place, he knew he hadn't been particularly subtle. Apart from that, if there was anything that could be said about Brant, it was that he generally had a very good handle on his own emotions and his reactions to them, even in times like this where he ended up momentarily distracted by thinking about something difficult unexpectedly.
Often, the people around him had asked him about that freedom of expression. He'd usually laughed and said something along the lines of: What's the point in locking bad feelings away? Why do we have feelings at all if not to share them?
Of course, the truth was that he only let those sorts of things show around half the time, and slipping up was easier around strangers than around his friends and fellow performers.
"My apologies," Brant said, because there wasn't a point to brushing away the subject. "Something about the atmosphere of this place made me think about the past, that's all. Nostalgia has a way of sinking its claws into even the most free-spirited among us!"
With a leisurely smile, the dull moment passes, and 'Brant' is 'The Captain' once again. What was once a role adopted for the sake of the gimmick has more or less become his default state of existence.
"I try not to spend too much time thinking about things I can't change, but contradictory behaviors are humanity's greatest folly. Well, that and overindulgence, according to some people I disagree with." He shrugs without a hint of sheepishness, then grins down at Kai, speaking as though the glimmer of concern he'd recieved was some harmless but embarrasing secret he'd caught them in. "Haha, were you concerned about me?"
#all the world's a carnevale! ⚓︎ ic.#the course is set / applaud for me! ⚓︎ ask.#so says the drifter; play on! ⚓︎ verse ; modern.#flybcll#brant has not had it easy per se but he's surprisingly well adjusted. when he says he's fine he does actually mean it. usually!#the only people he tends to shy away from sometimes with the state of his feelings are his troupe; both here and in mainverse.

@k1ngslxyer said → " See what I've got on my back? Wolves fear it. Kings do too. " - Jaime ( src. / accepting. )
It's an effective intimidator. Or it would be, if Hakkai were the sort of person who was susceptible to such intimidations—some strange mixture of ego and pride usually prevents him from fearing for his own skin.
"Hahaha. I'm afraid I'm neither a wolf nor a king; do wayward travellers tend to fear your blade as well, or are us ordinary people exempt from its might?" The sword might not be his specialty, but Hakkai has rarely been known to falter in a battle of wit. Naturally, his words might aggrieve the rather worn-looking man before him, so he doesn't drop his guard when speaking. "I'm not some sort of brigand. I imagine if I were the type of person who wanted to try my luck against you without thinking twice, I'd have gone and gotten myself killed long before now."
In any case, the idea of fighting someone for the sake of robbery makes Hakkai's conscience itch in a rather contradictory way, considering the gallons upon gallons of blood that had thoroughly soaked through his skin to eat away at his heart. The hint of a threat hidden behind assurance of capability may have set him at alert, and while he's more than prepared to defend himself if necessary, he'd never opt for anything more.
He wonders, amusedly, the sort of path this man has walked to jump so easily into threats. If it's anything like the tumultuous turn Hakkai's own life has taken in recent years, he'd find it hard to fault the stranger for his caution.
"In any case, I wasn't trying to imply you were somehow incapable of self-defense against the things that lurk in the forest. My sincerest apologies for trying and failing to appear lighthearted, as it seems I've stumbled into hearing range of a completely humorless man." The smile that follows is bright, mirthful, and more honest than usual—Hakkai has found some real amusement now, despite the cold response levelled in his direction. "I happen to be going this way as well and was wondering if you'd be opposed to company. There; I've laid out my intentions plainly, with little room for misunderstanding."

(got kind of long-ish so putting it under the cut)
🍪 my favorite roleplay memory - There are a few of them! One would be probably in my very, very early steps in rp back in 2011, when I did not understand what roleplay is at all, but random strangers on the internet were patient enough to show me around. It later turned into a massive group roleplay with a whole blog to moderate it (not a tumblr blog either!!), it was 2011 so of course it was a wolf oc roleplay, with a blog serving as a pack site. Another one would be returning to tumblr roleplay a little over a year ago. I've met a bunch of wonderful people since then and it practically revived my love towards roleplay in general.
🎾 what type of genre of roleplay i prefer to write -I really don't have a preference! I'm happy to roleplay anything from slice of life to horror and fantasy, and anything in between. It really depends on the muse, but if there's enough plotting or simply good vibes with the other mun, the genre doesn't matter! I'll love it anyway :) This being said I would love to explore some more general fantasy settings, you know, elves, witches, creatures alike, and magic.
⭐️my roleplay pet peeves - I can think of a few, but the biggest one would be first-person pov. It doesn't happen as often in roleplays anymore and is more of a fanfic thing, but when it used to happen it used to throw me off a lot. I could not focus or immerse myself in writing. Another one is writing with self inserts; and by that I don't mean ocs! Ocs are welcome and loved here! I'm talking about straight-up writing oneself in rp setting, which simply makes me uncomfortable due to past experiences. I had a person use me for a roleplay where they played a canon character but so divergent that it soon became obvious that they were simply writing themselves in that character's clothes. I'm also not big on bringing personal stuff into roleplay, especially when it's a thing between muns (for example one muse being randomly hostile towards the other because of something that happened outside of roleplay).
🐠why i love (or hate) this hobby - Ohoh, there are a lot of reasons! First of all, it allows me to explore my favourite characters in different scenarios, and play out things that didn't happen in canon. I love giving more life and story to characters that are just background or not well-developed in canon and developing already established characters even further, following my own, and general interpretation of them. I love writing because it's just another creative way to let a muse out other than art. I do both, and when one doesn't work I can simply switch to another. AND! I love, LOVE!! meeting people through roleplay. There's no better way to find people interested in the same fandoms and characters, often with similar opinions. I won't be able to be friends with everyone of course, but talking and getting to know people outside of it is a lot of fun and an important experience for me. The final thing to mention would be ships, but that's not really news! Love shipping, especially ones that didn't happen in canon or were impossible in canon (whether it's death or even a different world entirely). I can't say I hate the hobby, there are just days when I don't have as much energy for it; but it doesn't mean I love it any less :)

It had not been their own people, who had shot this Shinra helicopter out of the skies. Sure, they had no-fly zones over their bases and forts in Wutai and Cosmo Canyon, but they were always giving any Shinra chopper fair warning to turn around.
The burning and wrangled wreckage must have been shot down by a third party or rogue rebels - but no one would analyse that, of course. Blaming the SRC was easier.
Nonetheless... their group was close by. They had readied themselves to fly back to Cosmo Canyon. Glenn missed Ifalna and Aerith - but Matt claimed there were traces of life detectable in the shot down chopper. Lucia secured the surroundings as Glenn leapt from the deep green Wutain foliage. He had to be quick, before Shinra forces showed up. Running towards the mangled and burning wreckage, he could hear faint coughing. Climbing up and in, he checked the crew over. Dead. Dead. Definitely dead... and alive. The last one. A young SOLDIER 2nd class. His helmet must have saved his life, because it now was half burst open, stuck firmly between steel, alongside the boy's arm.
"Hey. Hey, you hear me? It's gonna be okay.", Glenn said with a calm tone, used to many such situations by now. As if the licking flames and smell of gasoline were nothing to worry about. His hands already working to free the kid.
"I'm gonna help you out. Just focus on me. What's your name?" (maybe how Kunsel is adopted into the SRC in the Verse where Ifalna and Aerith are around too and Glenn never stayed long in Shinra?!)
The last thing he remembered was the faint whistling sound he knew as an RPG missile. Kunsel had grabbed his own harness and yelled for the pilot to manoeuvre, but it was too late.
A loud crash and the beeping of countless alarms going off; all of that was drowned out by the rushing air as the tail rotor was lost and the copter lost its stability, whipping around in an uncontrolled spiral as it went down. And then there was darkness and aloud ringing in his ears.

'Hey. Hey, you hear me? It's gonna be okay.' The voice was muffled and far away, buried underneath the ringing that pierced through him. The smell of fumes and smoke made Kunsel cough and he forced his eyes open, trying to focus the blurry vision.
Crash. The one logical thought struck him and his brain fought the muddles confusion in an attempt to fall back on training. If they had been shot down, it was by an enemy. This was enemy territory. Moving his head to the left and right, the teenager cringed at the soreness in his muscles and felt his stomach drop; his comrades were dead. Triage training wasn't needed to know that much.
The voice was back and someone was yanking on the jammed belt that had kept him secure in his seat. There was a shock of blond hair and Kunsel couldn't figure out why he looked familiar; shock and pain were fogging his mind, but the boy knew one thing; he had to get out of here. Reaching into a pouch on his pocket, he produced a small utility knife and tried to cut through the harness. Not able to get the right angle, he looked to this strange man and handed over the knife; it went against training, but training never covered being the only survivor behind enemy lines in a copter that was on fire.
"That doesn't matter," old habits died hard and the boy didn't want to freely give away his name as the harness finally gave way and he half-fell to the mangled floor of the copter, letting this stranger almost drag him out of the helicopter's remains. Looking back at what had been his team, the teenager was thankful for shock numbing everything as his shattered helmet was the last thing he saw before flames began licking at the body of the craft.

"- is this the part where I become your prisoner, huh?" Sitting on the grassy ground, he ran a hand over his face and tried to suck in fresh air. He might be slow and sluggish, reactions muted and coughing from the fumes, but Kunsel could detect movement in the nearby vicinity; people hidden in the foliage. Back-up for this guy.
