after replaying a thousand times to confirm every word, cross referencing and asking my japanese friend specifications (because some words in japanese that are in the dictionary just. dont exist in english in some cases) THIS is i think the closest i could get to a near perfect dictionary, if you wanna try it and you find anything odd feel free to tell me since i'm using it along with the jpn dictionary as a base for the mod i'm making. i tried to explain any that were confusing but tbh playing this game on english is truly hard mode lol! And yes! Some words are redundant, it's a japanese translation issue, i tried to give them nuance?? Both honestly some words are so simmilar it may as well be the same in english..

'resident' is their specie, it's the fan given name so i used it

'Somebody' refers to a living being, a presence, it can be of any specie, it's broad

'Weak' is moreso untalented (to be bad at something)

'Frail(weak)' is more like vulnerable, physically weak/brittle, subject to damage

'Affliction' is because it can be disease or a curse, something that eats away at the health/body/mind, that needs to be 'cured'

'Incapacitate' is something like 'weaken', to make someone unable to hurt or move for example, or to lower their autonomy

'Like' can also be 'love', japanese doesn't really differenciate

'Different' is also 'wrong', they're the same word, it's confusing ik but essentially think of it as 'it's a different answer', sort of a more gentle version of 'you're wrong' . Again this is a jpn/english issue thing..

'I understand' and 'i will do it' are also rlly a japanese thing. Both sort of mean in a way 'i understand and am acknowledging what you said' ... but this is the closest me and my jpn friend could settle on.

'Hit' and 'knock' are the same. In japanese you say 'hit a door' more than 'knock a door'. That's why they're used interchangeably

'Distressed' is sort of like 'in trouble' , in need of help

'Feel' may also be 'think', i'm not quite sure on this one

'Room' and 'home' are also weirdly interchangeable

All the verbs are placed in neutral forms (ex: to search, to find, to go, to lead, to want, etc)

planned obsolescence is definitely a thing but you should still learn basic ways to fix/take care of electronics, like swapping out batteries or doing a factory reset. I recently sold the roomba I got from my grandma (she didn't understand it and kept it in a box) like twelve years ago - it still works because I looked up how to swap out the battery when it started to fail after six years. I spent the last few weeks wondering if I needed a new smart watch because the one I won in a student fair raffle eight years ago was getting kind of glitchy - tried a factory reset and it works perfectly. I have a nine year old laptop that is still chugging along like it always has - every few years I purge all the files and programs I'm not using regularly and I think that helps. When the little pump in our cat water fountain stopped working I figured out how to take it apart and clean it and then it worked again. The other day I found the voice recorder I used for my college journalism work - it was still in great shape despite being in a cupboard for a decade because I took the AAA batteries out before I stored it, so nothing corroded and I can listen to my awkward college interviews if I want to.

the electronic devices in your life want to work, they want to be good at their jobs, you just have to give them a little help by letting them take a nap (shutdown) from time to time and cleaning them and not bricking their batteries.

I'm sure I'm not the first person to have this idea but I thought of this literally half-asleep at 1 AM and bolted up to note it down.

Anyway what if movie!Fiyero is red/green colourblind and when he and Feldspar almost run over Elphaba, he doesn't see the Elphaba on the left, but the one on the right? reblog if u think the girl on the left is j-

Fiyero arrives at Shiz well after everyone sings a song about how green and annyoing Elphaba is, and the day after he arrives Galinda has taken her under her wing and made her popular, causing people to stop talking shit. So, what if Fiyero just does not find out Elphaba is green until like 2/3rds through the movie? He just straight up misses it, does not know she is an outcast, and just thinks she isn't into him for some bizarre reason. And only when he finds out she has green skin does he realise that he said the foliage thing, which she would definitely have taken as a jab, and actually he was incredibly rude to her. ... Oh no.

LOOK. Obviously I love that Fiyero just is not Fantasy Racist™ and doesn't think there's anything wrong with Elphaba being green. HOWEVER, wouldn't it be funny if-

whenever i draw mouths, especially in close up, i like to cheat angles a little bit and show a gumline at the back, even if you wouldn't see it normally. i think it adds character, and i don't like teeth looking a big flat slab, but also i think doing too much makes them creepy. problem: that's a very organic thing, and nick is a robot. doing that makes him look creepy

BUT. can i just say my little piece about how much i actually love a living HoF worldstate. like conceptually it's so fucking good okay like you go through your story and because of that you know your story. you know the complexity of the situation, you know & understand the circumstances only through ur frame of reference for that decision - u didnt know going to camp would doom redcliffe! u didnt know that the demon possessing connor wouldnt kill everyone if you went to the circle tower! u didnt know jowan doing blood magic was an option! u didnt realise there were kids living in the circle tower! u didnt realise zathrian was lying abt the origin of the werewolf curse! etc etc - and then like none of that matters because no one hears or cares abt the complexity. you are, exclusively, The Hero of Ferelden. the only thing that remains is that you saved ferelden - and at first, it matters to people how you did it, but eventually even that fades. all the difficult decisions you made get smoothed over into nothing - all of those lives that you might have been able to save are unremembered. all of the lives lost defending yours is irrelevant. and you're still here and even that's irrelevant!!! you are still alive but they've made you a living myth, something bigger than yourself. & it's SUCH a delicious parallel to loghain's status as the hero of river dane, which in turn, is the bookend to solas "the dreadwolf" dragon age. you're just left with the mythology of who you are!!! it's so fucking good
