Just finished playing Horizon for ME2 and now my brain is swimming in thoughts about Kaidan n Shep's reaction to the confrontation - specifically my Shep Ursa so its Fshenko.

Shepard would probably be so wrecked from working with Cerberus - Ursa is also a Sole Survivor Shep so she's extremely confused and scared - that she probably wouldn't take seeing Kaidan again well :( It does mean I get to have fun picking some more renegade options for the rest of the playthrough now.

Personally, I feel like the only thing that was keeping Ursa going was the possibilty of Kaidan being out there and seeing him again. Now that she fumbled (because for her, she has a bit of an outburst at him) their reunion, Ursa has given up on finding a way out of the Omega 4 relay alive.

Ursa becomes reckless and dangerous. Exactly what the illusive man wants in a way - someone who will get the job done.

Do you ever think about how fundamentally, Crowley and Aziraphale’s jobs would have set them up to respectively see the best and the worst of humanity, even though at first glance it seems like it should be the opposite?

Crowley got to meet Jesus. Yeah, to tempt him, but he was hanging out with Mr. Be Kind To Each Other. You don’t have to tempt a person who’s already sinning. Crowley’s job may have been to make the good people worse, but it was still to interact with the good people.

Aziraphale, on the other hand, was trying to call people to Good. You don’t do that to people who are already Good. You have to go to the people who are cruel, who are mean, who abuse their power, and try to save them. People like Gabriel. He went to places that needed to be reminded that good existed in the world, because it was just so bad.

And we can see the outcome! Aziraphale is used to handling assholes like Shadwell who throw slurs at him. Crowley is, at his heart, an optimist. Aziraphale has gotten mixed up with Nazis and the mafia! Crowley interacts with sweet ladies running cabarets!

Idk, do y’all already think about that, or is this brain-flipping for anyone else?

Red Robin Au where after Battle for the Cowl, Jason (instead of donning that ridiculous pill helmet) goes back to visit Talia and blow off some steam with the LOA; it's an effective way to do so at first, as long as he keeps Ra's at arms length and has all the Bats away from him. Except is that Timothy fucking Drake working with Ra's al Ghul.

So now Jason's like oh my god are you kidding me why is Tim here working with Ra's of all people??? Last he checked, Dick was Batman now and Tim was part of that gaggle of Robins in Gotham. Not here, in Nanda Parbat.

Hi. I don't know if anyone has asked you this before, but what would happen to Baby Tails in Sonic Forces? How would he deal with losing Sonic and reuniting him? If you can give me an answer, story, or image, I'd appreciate it.

short answer: it’s complicated because toddlers don’t know anything

long answer:

starting this off by saying that baby tails is not alone in eggman’s territory during the six months! the resistance does take care of him! don’t worry!!!

anyway, since he’s a literal toddler, tails doesn’t really understand the concept of death. all he knows is that something big happened, everyone around him is upset, and sonic hasn’t been home in a long time

i think vanilla would be the one to explain to him what happened to sonic (or at least what they believe happened) since she’s the one who mostly watches over him during the war itself. he asks her a bunch a questions about it, trying to understand what exactly she means by “sonic is dead” as kids of that age group tend to do. he doesn’t know what “dead” is

his separation anxiety gets cranked up to 11 and he’s extremely anxious because everyone around him is feeling very big emotions all the time, and also because he missed his big bro. during the first few months of the war, he’d toddle around the resistance looking for him and would start crying when the hedgehog was no where to be found. (it’s happened to him before, y’know? people leaving and never coming back…maybe sonic left for the same reason?)

eventually, sonic does get rescued and returns to mobius. cue the wholesome reunion

sonic doesn’t hug his 8 yr old brother in the game, but he sure as hell will hug his 1-2 yr old brother if i have anything to say about it. and i have a lot to say about it

tldr: he spends his time during the war being very confused and anxious and scared because he doesn’t really understand where his big bro went. why is he gone? where did he go?

hot take but I will always hate the concept of percy getting elected as praetor with having spent so less time in camp jupiter, while jason spent the same amount of time in chb and still wasn't able to fill in the gaps percy left, but percy seemingly did for jason in camp jupiter, and how replaceable jason was shown as, despite the fact that he spent 12 years, and trained as a TODDLER. i swear if I see some "joke" about percy surpassing jason in a week COMPLETELY ignoring that it's a very obvious gary sue moment written by rick I'll get so salty. it's one of the many inconsistencies of hoo.

because not only does it scream main character favouritism from rick (with making percy fit into everything somehow with zero plot holes) people ONLY say "jason was replacing percy" but apparently acting like percy wasn't? they were BOTH sent to replace eachother, temporarily atleast.

it's the fact that romans are showed to be very choosy in selecting praetors, which is why it took jason so long to become one despite his reputation. the camp just randomly hailing percy (a greek, people whom they hate) as their leader with zero hesitation whatsoever DESPITE the presence of octavian is weird. considering how much they opposed frank, a ROMAN going on an important quest, deeming him unworthy, despite hearing mars, literal GOD giving them orders to send frank, they were still very adamant in not sending him. so we can see that romans bend their rules for no one.

yes percy accomplished something GREAT and deserved the position as much as jason did, but if you take into consideration how the romans were written in the books, they were the type of people to ignore efforts people made if it meant the people were going against their "traditional" values. going by that logic, rick made them contradict their own views just for the purpose of elevating percy, and instilling this sense of superiority over jason.

knowing that the target audience wouldn't want jason to be on the same level as percy, which is strange because rick also meant to write jason and percy as foils of eachother, so shouldn't they be given equal amounts of importance? or just don't write them as foils at all if you want percy to have leverage over jason so bad? like pick a side.

if percy can be made a praetor with a week's time and have golden treatment in an enemy camp that accepts no one in easily (as opposed to chb who's more accepting) then why ISN'T jason held up like a hero in chb if percy is? (nah don't bombard me with the "camp half blood is loyal! unlike camp jupiter, rick wrote percy getting held up to point out that difference between the camps loyalty" bs we are just making up excuses and stories to make sense of the bad writing, who knows if rick even thought through all that, considering how inconsistent he is in books after pjo)

how come chb, whos main trait was written as loyalty to the campers never changed when it came to jason being there? jason got good friends, sure. but the camp NEVER saw him as a replacement to percy and there was some tension with him popping out of nowhere right when percy disappeared. jason was accepted in camp, but he wasn't hailed like a hero there the way percy was.

but camp jupiter, who's traits were extremely traditional values and rules that was never changed or messed with in the past was randomly tailored to percy's advantage? jason was hailed as the pinnacle of the true image of rome, and them replacing him with an unconventional greek hero within a WEEK seems so contradictory and just screams bad writing. why is the fandom giving this portion of the bad writing a pass when it clearly wastes the potential of the characters who aren't percy or annabeth? also this is NOT a percy hate post before y'all flood my inbox with threats, just pointing out one of the many inconsistencies of heroes of olympus.

I keep thinking about Merlin’s love for Arthur and how it’s so clearly portrayed in the show to the point that it practically drives the plot of the show. However when it comes to Arthur’s love for Merlin it’s more subtle and sometimes difficult to even grasp, and I started thinking why that was, aside from the obvious fact that Arthur has a lot of trouble expressing his emotions affection or otherwise. I think it also lies in the fact that Merlin knows Arthur intrinsically throughout the show; he is one of the closest people to Arthur, and sees him for who he really is. Arthur admits as much.

Sure, Arthur knows Merlin but the main part of the plot is that he really doesn't know Merlin. Merlin wants him to desperately understand him and “see me for who I am” but he can't yet. And I think this subconsciously creates a barrier in the way in which Arthur can care for Merlin, and how Merlin can let himself be seen by Arthur.

Which is why I think he was also so hurt when the magic reveal happens because more than the betrayal of Merlin having magic, it was the betrayal of Merlin not letting Arthur see him for who he really is and for hiding a main part of himself. Arthur says it himself “why did you never tell me” that’s what hurt him the most.

I think the most damning piece of evidence for this is the fact that while we see snippets of Arthur’s feelings for Merlin thought the show, the biggest signs are in the last episode after the magic reveal; in which he finally gets to understand Merlin, and this time REALLY know Merlin, and as the barriers of what held them back from understanding each other truly fall away, Arthur evidently “falls in love with Merlin all over again”. We see him actually express himself to Merlin.

This is another reason why I think if anyone was ever to create another season of Merlin after Arthur’s return, it’s physically impossible not to make it about Merlin and Arthur acknowledging their feelings for each other. Because there is no way forward without them acknowledging how deeply they care for each other, obviously anyone is free to argue what kind of love that is, but its impossible not to see the deep love there either way.

They always knew they loved each other, just maybe never realising how much and what that means, because its almost second nature to everything that they do.

Sorry it’s taken so long to respond🫶🫶 but I wanted to draw some new art for this ask💓

We have: Sebastian and Eloise trying out their new fancy camera with a selfie, pictures of them with their daughter, and finally…idk I just always felt like this drawing is when they’re a bit older💓

I want to take this ask as an opportunity as well to talk a little about how I imagine their future (I have no chill & you can ignore this and just enjoy the art if you want����).

I am a COMPLETE pantser - I never know how a chapter’s going to end when I start writing it (I always just have a few scenes I know I need to include to keep the plot moving forward). Although I have different *big* scenes I’m always writing towards, and themes/plot elements I’m always foreshadowing (shout out to @elliecutte for catching *almost* all of my hints and appreciating my general no chill😆), IM STILL NOT 100% SURE HOW I WILL END THINGS !!! 😳 I have a lot of endings I see as possible, and I think soon it will become more clear to me what will work the best💓

HAPPY ENDING:

Eloise and Sebastian become Unspeakables. I have a LOT of thoughts on this profession that could be its OWN post, and I feel like Unspeakables are generally specialized in one or two departments, but as their interests/research change they also change.

Eloise becomes an Unspeakable in the Mind and Death departments, with the occasional foray into Time. Her ancient magic is connected with all of these things (my version of AM is NOT like the game) & the Department of Mysteries is one of the only places that gives her any useful information about these things. Plus she thinks too much (it IS her hobby after all😆💓) and is very introverted so a hermit job like this is a perfect fit.

Sebastian becomes an Unspeakable as well, but I feel like it takes him a long time to specialize in anything, if he ever does. I just feel like becoming an Unspeakable is the adult equivalent of sneaking into the Restricted Section🥹🫶

They grow old together (I won’t explain TOO much) & have a lovely little family🥹 at least one daughter that they both dote on. Sebastian had an amazing childhood (idyllic until it wasn’t), and wants to give his daughter the same, and Eloise works hard to make sure their daughter feels the love that she never had growing up🥺

When Sirius is burned off the family tree, Eloise and Sebastian take him in🥹🫶 (they’re like 100 years old but WIZARDS LIVE LONGER…) The same happened to her all those years ago, and she wants him to know that his whole family hasn’t abandoned him.

Eloise LOVED her nieces - Bellatrix, Andromeda, and Narcissa - when they were younger, but as Voldemort becomes more powerful & people realize WHAT he’s doing, she has to separate herself from them. Her heart breaks seeing Bellatrix go mad, and seeing Narcissa engaged to a Malfoy out of obligation😔 (iykyk)

I haven’t thought any more about happy ending but I think it’s fun to think about how their future story might weave in with the actual canon events, ESPECIALLY since Eloise is a Black🥹💓

SAD ENDING:

After Sebastian gets his hands on Slytherin’s relic, it really starts to consume him and makes him even MORE obsessive than his natural tendencies - I imagine it similarly “talking” to him like Slytherin’s locket/horcrux did in Deathly Hallows (😳)

Eloise is deathly afraid of the changes she’s seeing in Sebastian and steals it from him (he would never willingly give it to her ESPECIALLY if it starts to feel like a precious item to him)

BUT the relic triggers the latent Black Family Madness in her - the madness that afflicts almost every woman in her family since…🤭 - and she herself starts to lose touch with reality. Her body and soul are already destroying themselves between the curse and the ancient magic inside of her, and the relic is what triggers it in her.

Sebastian becomes an Unspeakable, focusing on the Mind, in a desperate attempt to find a cure for his Eloise🥺

He never gives up his research, and sometimes when he comes home she is lucid and they talk about his research - otherwise, he just loves and takes care of her.

(He’s never successful in finding a way to reverse what he feels he caused in the first place - his ambition and single-mindedness is, to him, the reason why all of this happened)

Honestly who knows if I end their story either of these ways😌 I just love thinking of AUs and different endings and I have a few others I’ve considered as well!!! And whatever endings I don’t write will be immortalized on this blog and in my art as well🙏

I think there's sth to be said about the first meeting of Marius + Armand vs that of Armand + Daniel.

Marius appearing to Armand as a savior when he lies half-dead in the brothel (I think Armand even says he thought for a moment it was Jesus Christ coming to answer his prayers) vs Armand appearing to Daniel as a nightmare creature. Marius carrying Armand out of a dark and bleak place vs Armand actively locking Daniel up in a cellar lmao. Armand being like "oh please would a monster give food and shelter to poor orphan boys?" when Marius calls himself a monster vs Daniel openly and affectionately calling Armand an evil bug who devours millions of lives.

sth sth seeing the sleek facade first vs. immediately being confronted with the ugly parts. sth sth a story of salvation turning into one of horror vs a horror story turning into a (gothic) love story.
