And like. It’s so important to me especially in relation to Nico!!

Nico, who since Bianca had no one to take care of him, who had to watch his own back constantly, who had to feel alone, to feel worthless, for years and years. And then came Will, someone who went to hell for him, someone who unlocked hidden parts of himself for him, someone whom he knows would take care of him no matter what. Will is someone Nico knows he can trust to hold and protect him when he needs him. And that’s just really important and beautiful to me😞

Because Percy may have been the one to break the bridge, but why was the bridge so overwhelmed that it was deemed necessary? Silena.

Jake Mason cleared his throat. He'd been standing there so silently I'd almost forgotten he was in the room.

"Percy, something else," he said. "The way Kronos showed up at the Williamsburg Bridge, like he knew you were going there. And he shifted his forces to our weakest points. As soon as we deployed, he changed tactics. He barely touched the Lincoln Tunnel, where the Hunters were strong. He went for our weakest spots, like he knew."

"Like he had inside information," I said. "The spy."

Silena is canonically the actual reason why the Apollo Cabin got slaughtered on the Williamsburg Bridge, and I almost never see this even acknowledged, let alone explored.

Like, imagine being Will here. Your cabin, your family, has just been absolutely decimated by the battle. Your older brother, your mentor as far as TSATS tells us, is MIA, with certainty growing that he’s dead, and you couldn’t even help with the search because Annabeth was in desperate need of healing, and as the best healer left (as far as we know), you were her best shot at survival. Suddenly, you are now head counselor, and it’s now your job to ensure the survival of your remaining siblings. You are also 13.

And then, you hear that the reason why you were so overrun is because of the camp spy. That someone in your midst told the enemy that you were the weakest point of camp’s forces. That someone in your midst told the enemy that your leader, the one person they’re desperately trying to get rid of, was headed for your location. That someone in your midst is (in part) directly responsible for the deaths of your siblings. That’s already reason enough to hate the guts of whoever did it.

But then… the drakon. The Ares Cabin finally decide to show up, and you hear that Silena was the one who got them here, losing her life in the process. You now have to mourn yet another friend and ally. Then it comes out that she was the spy. That she was the reason most of your siblings are dead. That she was the reason for your other siblings’ lives now being on your 13-year-old shoulders.

And then… when the dust settles and everything’s over, she’s lauded as a hero. She gets the same honored sendoff as all the campers she helped endanger. Her shroud is burned right next to the empty shroud of your still-missing brother, right beside the other kids who she effectively killed. And based on what we see in HoO, “Silena was a hero” seems to be the prevailing opinion among the camp. Everyone just seems to have forgotten, or worse, are straight-up brushing aside, the massacre she caused.

Another freak4freak solangelo headcanon I have is Will being soo morbidly obsessed with Nico’s biology.

Like I HC that Nico’s regular waking/resting heartbeat is everyone else’s sleeping heartbeat and when he’s asleep he’s physically closer to a coma patient. I think once Will gets comfortable with this and realizes it’s not a reflection of Nico’s poor health but just How He Is he is soooo curious and obsessed with figuring out what makes Nico tic physically.

I also HC that Nico is unvaccinated and as someone who travels the world he should be dead 7 times over but he’s never so much as caught a cold. Will pokes and prods and realizes that Nico’s predisposition to the sphere of Death extends beyond rotting food and killing plants — it also means that virus/bacteria/whatever Science shit can’t fully incubate in his system, he kills them before they can manifest into a sickness. (Also, sub HC here that this is how Will eventually becomes comfortable learning to use his plague powers. Between Nico understanding the weight of wielding power that not only CAN seriously harm/kill but is MEANT to seriously harm/kill and being nearly incapable of harming him and being a good enough healer to fix him even if things go wrong, Nico is the only person who knows for a long time and is the only person Will uses that power around).

Beyond their dissection dates, when the infirmary is slow Will takes blood, runs test, and generally turns full Dr. Frankenstein on Nico to understand what being a death-related child of Hades means for the physical body (another sub HC that demi-god bodies are Strange and can vary based on who their godly parents are — I.e. Apollo kids being abnormally warm). Nico loves every minute of it and comes up with half of the experiments himself.

imagine will not being able to answer anything about his plans for the future, because the moment when 13-year old will solace stepped up as the head counselor for cabin 7, he accepted that he wouldnt be making it to 18, just like how lee and michael did, just like the rest of his unnamed siblings

but now, he indulges himself in thinking about a future where hes happy and alive and together with nico, because theres someone out there who loves him so much that he would want to for him to live

Will Solace headcanons

- He's TALL

Like, really REALLY tall, at least for his age, this boy is like 1,82 ( smt like 6'0 with ⅔ of an inch I think?) at the age of fifteen and always has been the kind of kid who was at the end when the lines where from height order.

-The kind of person that gets red like a tomato

He looks like Tinkerbell whenever he gets flushed, especially but not exclusively when he is mad or has been laughing too hard.

-He is the embodiment of a social introvert

He likes spend time with his family and Friends, but he gets drained very easily, sometimes if he can avoid being surrounded by more than a few people or none at all, he isn't hesitating on taking that chance, and for that, he used to love when the cabin was empty of with just one or two of his siblings instead of the little battalion (Ofc he only could find that comfortable when the emptiness just means that all the others were at their daily activities and no that he, Austin and Kayla were the only one to fill the place until a new arrival.)

-Ok with PDA in public spaces if he's dating a girl, but sometimes he is kinda more reserved and discreet if his partner is a boy

Hear me out, he knows that there is nothing wrong with him or his relationship with a person of his same gender, but he has heard the things that some intolerant people are capable of and sees the consequences of it in some summer-only campers (and back at his home too, Remember that this boy is from Texas of all places) and he is terrified of the mere tough, so he's very wary of where or how much PDA displays towards his partner.

-His relationship with Naomi is great, but not really" Mother and son" like, but more "cool rich older friend/sister and bestie/younger brother"

None of them seem to realize or acknowledge that this isn't necessarily a good thing or that can be directly a problem due to the fact that Naomi has this little "eternal teenager" síndrome which is certainly not the best rely-on figure for an ACTUAL teenager.

-Kinda related to the last one, but he was partially/mostly raised by his grandparents

Naomi still being there, but she never quit her musical career which grew exponentially during her pregnancy, so sometimes she was out for a kinda Long time, They're this little southern older and kinda wealthy couple who absolutely love their grandson ( of which they were convinced that was the second mesias or something like a miracle at least due to his really weir birth conditions) Mr, Solace is guilty of wills star wars obsession

-This boy was literally indetectable during his ELEVEN months of gestation,

Naomi entered the hospital thinking that it was a digestive problem and ended up with a baby (that surprisedly for a newborn is pretty, like almost perfect to the point that feels beyond humanity) that looked like this guy whom she had met the past year in a trip to Austin, except that he and her cut the relationship way long before that what a normal pregnancy should be, her family end up convinced that was some kind of God's will and that's why they aren't bothered by Naomi having a child without being married or even in a relationship

- Igaf on what canon says, even if Will isn't usually a fighter, he, like any other demigod has a weapon, o well three

He has a bow, not his preferred one tough, his reaction is a bit too slow so forget about shot at a moving objective, Wich means that is useless when it comes to combat (and even in the archery range he is average or straight up sucks if their siblings are fair comparison), but that leads us to his preferred one for the last year's

Remember that shotgun that is just randomly in the armory? Well, he has his version of it, a Rifle, which is kinda restricted of in use because he can't use that thing for everything, the bullets are one-use-only which is kinda impractical and the mist wouldn't do shit to cover it up ( since that thing is already one of the disguises for the swords in this universe) and how tf are you supposed to explain that a minor has a hunting weapon in a big city?? Yeah- but his aim shines with that baby though

Sadly it has been slowly replaced while Will learns how to use his photokinesis and fulfill his dream of having his own light sable ( Why we are sleeping on the fact that this is just the best weapon to give a star wars fan capable of manipulating the fuckin light?!)

he who curls himself up so tight, rests a head on your leg when he wants a shred of your attention and is too embarrassed to say a word of it, too nervous to percieve and ask. who lets out the softest rumble from the pit of his chest when you bury a hand in his hair and ever so gently scratch his scalp.

he who readjusts himself, to be half over you, softly kneading at whatever skin his claws and pawpads can get ahold of. from slow blinking to barely ever opening his eyes - he's so tired, and you know it. he lets out little sound and has little twitches in his sleep, you can relax him so easily by reaching a hand and gently stroking him. just like mama.

you can't forget about the little sound he makes when it's time to wake up, obviously he mrrps. looking at you with the biggest glowing blue eyes known to man. he loves you enough.

Underrated solangelo hc and dynamic: overprotective Nico.

You cannot look me in my eyeballs and tell me that the boy who has lost nearly everyone he cared about in one way or another would not deliberately protective over the people he has left. And, unlike most other people, Will isn’t much of a fighter. He’s no push over, but compared to say Percy or Hazel he would need it in a way they wouldn’t.

Imagine Nico getting the nickname “shadow” not because of his powers but because he’s literally 2 inches behind Will at any given time. Imagine the first capture the flag game they play he’s not even going after the flag because he’s too busy keeping an eye on Will the entire time (RIP to whoever manages to make a scratch on him, you are now on Nico’s shitlist for Life). Imagine Will going to visit his mother and Nico acting as his personal escort the entire time.

Will finds this mildly annoying until he realizes that campers (especially Ares) are listening to his advice more and arguing less because Nico is right behind him, glaring the fear of God into them every time they get snappy. Then he’s all for it and makes it Nico’s official role in the infirmary. Within two weeks the number of injured campers hits an all time low because people are 1) actually following medical advice and healing before doing more Dumb Camp Shit and 2) actually doing Dumb Camp Shit safer so they don’t have to face Nico in the infirmary again.

I could not stop thinking about the scene where Nico and Percy are in the underworld for undisclosed reasons in The Last Olympian (bcs that whole thing physically makes my heart hurt) and Hades calls Nico "dense". It made me think that it is kind of implied that it's not the first (and certainly not the last) time he had made this kind of comments to him.

So I have this headcanon where Nico is generally unwavering when it comes to verbal insults but the moment his intelligence is made fun of, he goes crazy.

Like you could call him a slur and he would be like "ight" and move on but if someone even calls him "dummy" he gets so mad, it's scary.

I think more fics should include lil bits of southern accent coming from characters from the south.

Will, Leo, Hazel and Annabeth all start talking to eachother and suddenly you're hearing four different southern accents coming out

I mean already talked about the big three boys and them all having a partner from the south. But add Frank in there who's not even from the US and they all just starring like :0

Will and Leo with different Texas accents,Leo's probably with the added hispanic accent mixed in

Annabeth' Virginia accent hardly noticed cause she left there when she was pretty young, only to come out with certain words

Hazel's having a New Orleans accent is *slept* on y'all.

Which, also means on the Argo II anytime they were discussing and accents might've go thicker as they spoke faster you had the other four just starring like "mhm-yep-"

But like you also had a new yorker and a Canadian there as well as a guy that was raised by wolves so- accents must've been interesting on that ship XD

(Also-southern Lee Fletcher hc, mainly cause I'm shocked none of the children of Apollo we have a birth place for so far are from around Nashville. Come on, it's literally Music City. )
