If someone asks for book recs for something similar to Sinners…do not recommend them Interview With The Vampire. Cuz what is wrong with you? Not only was Anne Rice racist but Louis is a slave owner and Lestat can care less about the slaves in the book. They literally feed off of them. Like y’all don’t think, and that’s a problem.

These are the types of books you recommend people who want something similar to Sinners. They are asking for books that are about and by Black people with supernatural and horror elements. Heck even LegendBorn by Tracy Deon could be considered horror with the amount of stuff that goes down in that book. I need y’all to get a grip and get it fast.

seated for watching sinners again next week with oomf but would like to say how…. funny it is people think that remmick is *genuine* in his intentions with everyone in the juke joint. yes, remmick is irish, and has a mutual history of trauma, but this doesn’t change him killing and forcibly turning black people against their will and forcibly assimilating them into *his vision* of freedom (which is another form of domineering subjugation) and seeking sammie’s gift (the manifestation of black culture and community) to do so. and analyzing the nuanced historic dynamics between irish and african americans is key here, too. I like remmick. I think he’s a great villain, and I’m very excited to see him on screen again. however, pretending that he’s so different from the klan and isn’t villainous kind of misses what makes him so scary and enthralling to watch. so much focus on grace being “secretly evil” when y’all should direct it at remmick! anyway, to my people- SHEEP if yall would have went outside!!!!

The Wayhaven Chronicles—Update 09/May/2025

So, guess who put in another scene to the chapter that was supposed to be finished?

That’d be me…Probably not a shock to anyone at this point, hehe! ;D

But, in fairness, it really needed it! After going through the current chapter, I realised it didn’t feel balanced. There was this quite emotional moment with the love interest after another emotional scene had happened, and I realised there was nothing for Li-Sar.

And although Li-Sar’s major romance stuff only happens in Book Four, it still needs to feel weighty and as deep as the others—quicker in progress but still as deep.

So, I went in an added a big section where the MC ends going somewhere else and having that moment with Li-Sar if they want it, depending on how they feel about the romance.

And guys, I LOVE it! Things feel like they’re building more naturally with Li-Sar now. Like the two of them really just can’t help but be drawn to each other, as much the MC is trying not to be for very good and valid reasons, lol! :D

That took some time to figure out and add in the best place to feel natural, but after that I jumped back into the editing, which I’m still currently on but is going pretty smoothly.

And in good timing, the editor is starting to send her edits back for the previous-previous chapter, so I’m going to add them in too seeing as I’m in the editing zone!

So next week is more editing, social media days (because I totally forgot it was May already!), and then hopefully getting onto the next chapter! A busy one, but hopefully another week I can check off a lot of tasks!
