First time using Krita

I just got myself a new laptop

Hopefully, 32 GB of ram is enough for Krita

I know it's not cherry blossom season but...

I regret lobotomizing my laptop.

The battery was ballooning. I could see it lifting up the trackpad. And when batteries do that, they have a tendency to blow up.

So, I removed it. And now my laptop is chained to the charger. Which isn't a big deal since the battery life always sucked. But ever since I removed the battery, my laptop keeps freezing up?

Like, randomly, all sound would stop, the screen stops moving, and inputs don't do a single thing.I have to unplug and replug the machine to get it working again.

And that's a problem because I often don't save in time and lose a bunch of progress on what I was illustrating.

And I can't predict when this will happen. Something, it takes a couple hours. Sometimes, less than five minutes.

I do have a hypothesis as to why this is happening, though. I think that the power in the outlet sometimes skips a beat, and that tiny amount of time without power between moments with power freezes up my laptop.

I think this issue would probably be fixed if I had one of those power strips with an inbuilt power supply, but I don't have one. Nor do I have the money to get one.

So I guess I'll just try to click ctrl-s as often as I can when illustrating. And try not to groan when my laptop freezes up after I draw half a tree.
