When ever I go to the beach I quite often get asked questions about my diet and exercise, so I've decided to share some of my secrets. Firstly though your weight and health are intimately interwoven, so if you have any chronic health conditions such as heart disease, arthritis, autoimmune, chronic fatigue etc in order to control these you need to be able to control your weight, but the irony is that when you have any of these conditions it makes it so much harder - a bit of a catch 22. When it comes to diet for weight loss most people believe that it's all about calories, portion control and metabolism. But there's actually a whole lot more to it than that, infact even the way calories are counted in my opinion is wrong. The most important factor to consider here is what actually causes you to put on weight is STRESS! ie too many calories = stress, too bigger portion size = stress, exposure to chemicals = stress, oxidation = stress, lack of sleep, loss of job, relationship issues, blood pressure etc = stress. But stress is also needed to initiate change and loosing weight is change thus the confusion, which is why so many people have problems with it. One more thing to consider here is that nutrient deficiencies tend to increase reactions to stress thus compounding all of the above including calories. I will go into this in a lot more detail in future posts. #lean #leansecrets #weight #weightloss #lowbodyfat #exercise #optimalhealth #optimalweight #optimalnutrition #stretching #yoga #nutrition #fitness #health #wholefoods #wholefooddiet #metabolism #diet #dietsecrets https://www.instagram.com/2bendili/p/Bws0m8qlb0U/?igshid=ovh8ezx72j6j

Copper and flexibility Have you ever wondered why you feel so stiff under the influence of estrogen? Or perhaps the exact opposite! Estrogen greatly increases the absorption of copper and excess copper causes inflammation and stiffness. Birth control is a biggy here. But not enough can also cause stiffness. So what you need is the Goldilocks amount causing good inflammation and enabling increased flexibility. Vitamin C works wonders for excess (small amounts spread out over the day during the estrogen phase only). #vitaminc #copper #stiffness #fibromyalgia #splits #flexibility #oversplits #frontsplits #backflexibility

My goal for a year from now is to get my scorpion back. So this means overcomming my non functional b12 dilemma. I also believe b12 is heavily linked to flexibility (It would be interesting to see if inflexibility was linked to low functional b12 or it's cofactors). Unlike what I have been taught as to what causes chronic conditions that inflammation is behind the cause. I believe inflammation is the new cholesterol, there is good and bad, or is any of it bad??? It depends on how you look at it. I've been on a lot of arthritis meds but they are still only band aids. I actually started stretching to test their effectiveness and ironically whilst on Humira (2.5yrs) the one that was the most effective my flexibility did not improve one iota, but all my inflammation markers were very very low ie you need inflammation to increase flexibility. Interestingly I gained 3 more autoimmune diseases in the process as it didn't address the cause so I stopped taking it. Also b12 controls inflammation. I don't believe inflammation causes disease rather deficiency/toxity (they have a chicken and egg relationship) in that deficiency causes toxicity and toxicity causes deficiency. It's actually these that are behind the stiffness in arthritis and researching this theory is how I uncovered the real cause of my conditions. So I can't understand why instead of prescribing bandaids and toxic drugs it's so hard to get a Dr to look for the real cause! There are many of us that don’t believe in supplements as you can obtain all you need nutritionally from food. Well I’m not one of those! Why? - Nonperfect DNA, pollution, pesticides, pathogens, allergies, hormones, stress etc But I don’t believe in synthetic drugs either! So I’m 48, have arthritis and yet I can do this! How? - supplements, diet and exercise to offset all of the above. In order to starve off arthritis and increase flexibility, you have to switch your body from inflammatory mode into healing mode. One of the simpler ways to do this, believe it or not, is to take digestive enzymes and probiotics. Arthritis is very stressful and usually results in very high demands on your hormones. As a response one of the first things to shut down (there’s only so much hormones to go round) is your digestive system - resulting in nutritional deficiencies, leaky gut, inflammation, chronic fatigue and thus feeding the cycle until eventually arthritis plus.
