I’ve always hated the bi and pan flag designs because the colours are too vivid and they hurt the eyes. I was complaining about that to my friends and one of them explained how it’s because yellow, cyan, and magenta create all of the colours and how that’s symbolic of how pan people are attracted to all genders and I was like “Oh wow, I retract my previous statement, you have changed my mind, the pan flag is actually the coolest flag ever blah blah blah,” and my other friend replied “So pansexual people are printers. That’s all I’ve gained from this conversation.”

Aspec men deserve much more respect and recognition in the aspec community than they receive. They often face a different form of aphobia specific to them ("men are naturally sexual they can't be ace" "all men are unromantic that's not unique") this rhetoric is spouted by many, even members of our own community and I hope for a day where that is no longer the case. As an ace and demiro woman (demigirl but that's beside the point) I want to encourage folks to take the time to give the aspec men in their lives support and to the aspec men reading, you are who you say you are no matter what people say and you deserve the world. I'm sorry for the ways in which toxic masculinity has harmed you. You are a valued member of the aspec community and the queer community as a whole. Yeah you're very right! Transphobes will try to use anything against you. It sucks because you're just trying to live but there's people out there who are trying to tear one facet of your identity down by using the other against you.

At the end of the day being a trans guy doesn't make someone's aspec identity any less valid or vice versa because being ace or aro or both has nothing at all to do with gender.

aspecs: i've been thinking a lot lately about the "ace people can still have sex in a relationship/aro people can still be in romantic relationships" sentiment and the logistics of being aspec in relationships in general. obviously, the predominant sentiment is that you should be able to have a relationship where the other person will be happy without having sex/being romantic with you. if you feel comfortable sharing in tags/replies/reblogs/asks/whatever, though, i'd really like to hear people's experiences with sex/romance in relationships as an ace/aro person. have you found it generally possible to have a relationship with an allo person when you're ace and don't want to engage in sex? what are people's experiences being aro and being in relationships (labeled romantic or otherwise) with alloros? reblogging for reach is appreciated and any related experiences you feel comfortable sharing are completely welcome <2
