The Day Australian Skies Forgot Blue Exists

Today the skies along Eastern Australia forgot blue was a colour. Everything is a different shade of grey, and that’s if you’re lucky. Some places only see red. Australia is on fire. So far the fire has torn through more land than the fires that recently devastated the Amazon Rainforest. And it’s not stopping. Two states are burning. People have died. People are missing. People are scared. New Zealand has sent over their firemen and women to help. It’s still not enough. The fires continue moving towards major suburbs and cities. Not to mention the devastation caused to our rural communities. Climate change is a thing.

Me trying to be rational about the noise I heard while home alone: my dog isn’t barking so it’s nothing.

Every time I’m home alone and my dog starts barking at something: can you shut the heck up? It’s literally nothing.

So driving down the road to find that an entire apartment building (including the people thay own the place) agreed to cover the building in Christmas lights. It made everyone so happy.

Brother: *starts laughing*

Me: Whats so funny?

Brother: *imitating Indiana Jones* Oh no there's a massive boulder rolling after me! *starts grinning and giggling*

Me: ...

Brother: *imitating donkey* I like that boulder. That's a nice boulder.

So, myself and a guy at school are best friends but we hardly talk, but when we do it’s hilarious. He calls me Romeo and in return he calls me Juliet, because why not reverse the roles?  Anyway our conversations go something like this:

*really fake British accents*

Him: Romeo!

Me: Juliet!

Him: My love I have missed you, how was your class?

Me: Oh Juliet it was dreadful, I had mathematics.

Him: *shudders*

Person: You two are weird

Me: Hush peasant, you will never tear us apart.

*bell rings*

Him: But the bell will. Good bye, my Romeo. Don’t die.

Me: Good bye my Juliet. I will try not to my love, I promise.

*both get dragged away by our friends while crying dramatically*
