This Is How I Made My Game Using Unreal Engine
I made SPACE ESACPE in 6 weeks and in this post I will go over how I made the game using Unreal engine.
The first week of unreal engine work was all on the score mostly I set up a score and got my game to also posse by clicking the P button (if you want to see any of the code for this it is all on my blog all ready)
The second Week was used to set up my games background and place my newly made charter module into the game made in photo shop. I made a background that made it look like stars were rushing past the screen to show that you the player were in space.
The third week had me add in a spawned and AI to the game so that you could avid astride this was by far the hardest thing I had to do when it came to programming my game I also made it so that the game is from a top down few.
The Forth week I made it so that the Astrid's all worked how they were supposed to (made it so that when they hit the player they would kill the player) I also made shear all my things were on one level and made it so that there were walls around my games level so you could not go off screen or at least most of the time not go off screen.
The Fifth week I added in so that my player chanter could firer there weapon at the astride and the Astrid's would get blown up I made it so that the gun glowed when you shot it and sadly had to make the dession to leave my score broken.
The sixth and last week I decided to make it so that there was a title screen when you first booted up the game and I added in music into the background of the game while you played. I also made it so that the level points would go up in 50s and polished up the game where I could. This is how I made my game using Unreal engine if you want to see my code for all this it is all all ready on my blog.

Other Peoples Thoughts On My Game
I gave people a chance to play my game and one of them said they would weight what they thought of my game on a blog for me so bellow is there thoughts on the over all game what's best what's worst and what could be improved in the feature.
Students thought's: I really enjoyed playing SPACE ESACPE and thought it was a fun game loved the background as it really did make me feel like I was traveling throw space trying to avoid asteroids or even shooting them down. Speaking of shooting at them the game play was very fun and addictive and I wanted to play more and more and shoot more and more of the asteroids down. I liked the music in the background how ever two things I would improve would be to add in a working high score that actually stayed once you set a new one because for some reason I think SPACE ESCAPES high score was broken and I would of made it so that it got a bit harder as the game went on perhaps new enemas or something like that but over all really enjoyed the game and thought it was very fun!

Galaga
Galaga is probably the closest classic arcade game you will get to mine the enemies ships behave similar to my asteroids witch come down the screen eve the movement in this game form 1981 is very similar and I think this all tells you everything you need to know about how similar games can be to each other still to this day. In terms of UI my game and this game are nearly the same having the score located at the top of the game screen and also having the high score at the top as well all this time and games can still be so similar in terms of UI and in terms of games as a whole the simple UI is one still used to this day and is one that as we can see from my comparisons work very well to this day.

Donkey Kong
Donkey Kong came out in 1981 and would go on to be loved by millions still to this day as Donkey Kong him self appears in film midda and games still to this day and this game is so similar to mine when it comes to UI. My game has really only a score which is the same as Donkey Kong witch had Donkey Kong on the screen but then the score and high score at the top its strange to see how such different games can actually be so different but yet the same in some ways and this is the perfect example of that.

Tetris
Now while Tetris is not quit like my game in terms of UI there is mainly tow thing I wanted to talk about hire when it come to UI the first one being that Tetris has a high score just like my game but this game that came out in 1985 has a timer showing the time you have been playing a level for and I mention this because this was also going to be in my game however due to time constraghts I had to cut it however I still think its a very cool but simple element to a games UI being able to know the time you have taken to beat a level adds a adishanl bit of change and wont to beat it in an even quicker time.

Pac Man
Now you may be thinking how could such classic games such as Pac Man and Space Invaders have similar UIs to my arcade game well they do and you would be suppressed how many arcade games have similar UIs for example Pac Man came out in 1980 and was loved by literally everyone and is a classic game that will be parsed for years to come. The UI is also very simple and is like my games UI with at the Top of the screen being the high score and then at the bottom being pick ups this is the same as mine other then the pick ups at the bottom of the screen.

This is space invaders as I'm sure you would know. The game was hugely important for the history of gaming and gaming as a whole moving forward. The game came out in 1978 but the important question we need to ask today is how was its UI back then and how in anyway is it like my UI.
Space invaders is the main game I based my game off of when I was making my game SPACE ESCAPE space invaders much like my game has only really the bear minion when it comes to UI having the score at the top of the scree as well as the high score. On the bottom is does have cadet but that's only one thing different to mine this UI works very well as it keeps it simple and is very similar to my games UI.

My UI
This is my games UI system and I wanted to talk about it works and what it is. The game is set in space where you the player are controlling a rocket firing on astride coming from space to hit and kill you. The UI is very simple, You the player die from one hit of an astride. You also don't have to worry about ammo so there is no ammo system. The only really bit of UI I have is your High score witch in my opinion all games should have that are from the arcade aria anyway this shows you what your score is and what you can look to beat I do wish I used a different font however the one I used gets the job done and does work as a high score system.

Attract Mode

An attract mode is where you have a looping bit of game play play while no one is playing this will show people what your games are like with out them even having to play the game. If you don't have one of theses your game wont stand out as much but if you do it will really show people how your game looks and what its all truly about. Now there are some ups and some downs to having one as it could show people why they possibly wouldn't wont to play your game as they may see something in your game that they don't like. However on the other hand if you don't have one I think it makes your arcade Machine look very boring and blade and people dont get to see anything about your game.
I definitely think its is far better to have one then not to have one as is gives your game a lot more publicity and makes people want to play more of it and wont to try it out as a whole. I would say that I would definitely rather have one then not have one as they help to show your game off it a good light and get more people to play the game and look at your game in a good way.

Markey
This is my arcade Markey!
Arcade Markey are very important as they are placed on the top of your arcade machine to promote your game. Markey's were very important as they would be the main thing that got peoples attention back in the 80s and 90s they would be very poplar and everyone who made arcade games would want a flashy and nice looking Marky as it helped get more people to play!
This is my Markey banner mine is very simple with the title and with stars around it and a Rocket this shows everything people need to know about my game its in space its called SPACE ESCAPE and you fly a Rocket other Markey's are often far more over the top then mine I liked to keep mine simple as I think it works well at showing people only what they need to know and not going over the top with things that ant needed

Making The Player Shoot!
This is how I made the player able to shoot. First "get left muse bottom" and connect this to "Spawn Actor BP project" make a variable and call this projectile cosecant this to "Get world Translation" and connect that to "Spawn BP projectile"
Make sure you make a projectile and then colure it what ever you want it to be and make sure to make it what shape and size you want it to be and then turn off bounce physics. Once all of this is one you will be able to firer your projectile as long as you have placed it where you want it to fire.

This is My Start Screen
I made this start screen using photo shop I wanted a title screen that tells the player everything they need to know about my game. The screen has a large title called "SPACE ESCAPE" the game is about you who has to escape from an Astrid field AKA escape from space. The title shows a mentor/ asteroid heading towards the player who will have to escape from them.

Making My Asteroids do damaged
This is how I made my Asteroids kill the player. I first went into the code and placed in a Custom Event plug this into "cast to BP third person charter" then plug that into "Open level by name" all of this means that the level will restart when you are hit by a metro.
