Weird things nobody told me about anxiety/being anxious that I have experienced, as someone who has only recently become anxious:

How much you salivate when anxious, what's up with that??

Yawning constantly that cannot be stopped leading up to an anxiety/panic attack

The fact that you actually feel like you can't get enough oxygen to the brain because your own body is suffocating you. Uh, I was told about hyperventilation, but I didn't quite realise it was to try to save yourself from suffocating

The fact that you can't actually get rid of the anxiety ever. Most of those so-called strategies don't actually do anything

Exercise triggering panic attacks? Excuse me, I was told it would stop the anxiety. This is a scam

Ironically, sport also being one of the only things that helps me manage anxiety by putting me in a position where i HAVE to pay attention to my surroundings, or else get severely injured

How exhausting everything is

Derek/Holly Paralleling Mike/Will

Through reading numerous theory posts about Derek I finally realized what his ultimate purpose will be in the Season 5 narrative.

Derek's purpose is to serve as a deliberate parallel to Season 1 Mike.

Mike was absolutely devoted to saving Will in Season 1 and was the only one (along with Joyce) that held out hope of Will being alive. I think likewise it'll be mostly Derek (and Mike) that hold out hope of Holly being alive, and Derek will join Mike's group alongside Will in the quest to save Holly. I think Mike will see a lot of himself in Derek, but I don't think he will pick up on Derek liking Holly (and to be honest Derek may not even realize he has a crush on Holly himself, which also works with him paralleling Season 1 Mike).

Holly and Will parallel each other too. Both are targeted by Vecna, both are associated with Clerics (as we've seen from the Season 5 leaks with Mike giving Holly a Cleric to protect her), and both are portrayed as warm, sweet characters. And both are also, of course, ultimately kidnapped by Vecna.

So Derek and Holly are already paralleling Mike and Will from Season 1 quite a lot.

I think at some point Joyce will point out to Mike that she thinks Derek might like Holly and he'll be like: "What?! No! They're only friends." (Mike will be speaking for the audience here about how people interpret Byler)

And then Joyce would say something like: "They may be friends, but that doesn't mean that there's not something more there. Even if Derek himself doesn't realize it." And Mike just sits stunned, because he's like holy shit, Derek is acting exactly like he did when Will went missing.

TLDR; I think the purpose of Derek and Holly's storyline will largely be to mirror Mike and Will from Season 1. And I think it's very smart of the writers if they go about it this way because it'll clearly show that when the exact same storyline is given to a boy and a girl that people will immediately pick up on a possible romantic connection, in a way they never did between Mike and Will, with them being two boys.

I JUST SAW THIS POST AND YOU NEED TO LISTEN TO ME!! This just blew my mind, because... Isn't that what Max did to escape Vecna when the music was on?? She RAN! Someone has just been caught by Vecna (Mike!!), and Will is yelling at this person to run, possibly towards the exit.

And damn, do you remember what Will yelled in the leaks? "Do you hear me? You need to run!!"

I'm not usually one to post my knee-jerk reactions, but screw it, let's have some fun and geek out over the ST5 teaser:

I'm LOVING the emphasis on Joyce and Will in this teaser. I don't think I'd realized until I saw them together just how much I've missed them as a pair. Like, I knew Will was going to be a big focus in S5, but Will and Joyce fighting side-by-side as mother and son and having heart-to-hearts again? Fuck YESSS

Just look at how they're paralleling S1. The iconic axe, yes--

--but also the iconic shed kidnapping.

Will's not alone this time 😭😭😭

On that note, I'm also loving this shot:

Will weak/unconscious in his mother's arms, presumably exhausted by The Horrors, as Mike protects them and a bunch of kids from some unseen danger? This is EXACTLY what I've been hoping to see from Mike in S5: a return to form as a leader who fights for kids who need someone to stand up for them instead of forcing himself to be the Lois Lane to El's Superman.

Does this count as Byler crumbs? Maybe. But only because Byler is so deeply woven into the supernatural plot; the teaser overall avoids addressing the shipping war in favour of hinting about the nature of the upcoming supernatural battle, and I'm certainly not complaining about that. I'm fascinated by this giant wall of flesh:

What are those red blobs in it? They look person-sized. They look occupied. There are lots of things this could mean, but with Will being such an emphasis I can't help but think of Matrix parallels again.

Looks like it could be El and Hop investigating though, which is interesting. ST's standard approach is to have different groups of characters separately uncover different parts of the puzzle before coming together at the end to compare notes -- so what do they want El to uncover that it's best to keep Will away from until the end, I wonder? 🤔

I actually disagree, I think it is Will. It's obviously a person, because why else would ONLY Joyce be holding a weapon, right? Everyone else looks like they're waiting in anticipation, rather than fear. I think this is possibly Possessed Will. They've already said that season 5 is going to very Will-centric, and that Mike will be often by him, right? So, operating on that assumption, I'm ruling out Mike as the threat behind that door, because I feel like it would shift the focus away from Will. I believe that something happened while Will and Mike were out, on patrol or something, I don't know, and they were in danger. Will sacrificed his safety in order to keep Mike safe, which I believe is where we get that clip of Will yelling run from. Something then happened, such as a possession, to make him a threat. Will sacrificing himself AGAIN is very in character for him, as he has very low self-esteem, and doesn't value himself nearly as much as he values his friends and family. We've already seen him lie to Mike, something that he would normally never do, to try to keep Mike (and El) happy, destroying his feelings in the process. Personally, the merit in Mike being the one behind that door would be Will saving him. However, since you need love to save someone from possession, I think that would require Will to reveal his feelings. Will would rather die than reveal his feelings, when, from his perspective, they are obviously unrequited, so I don't think this will happen. It's clear from what we've seen so far that season 5 will parallel season 2 in a lot of ways, so it is much more likely that Mike confesses HIS love to save Will. Another reason why I think it's Will being possessed(?) is because of the scene of Mike protecting the group, including Joyce and Will. Will is slumped in Joyce's arms, and this, to me, indicates that Will is playing the role of Dana again in season 5. Ive seen analyses on here about the parallels between Mike and Venkman and Will and Dana in season 2, and I personally really love that idea, shoutout to anyone who wrote them. I'm also a big fan of Will having powers in season 5, and this being him collapsing from overexertion. Either way, I think it's going to be super interesting.
