I just found out these were a thing, so here goes.

The name’s Lina, I’m 19 and would really love to write for a living. I’m not all that confident with my original stuff so I’m slow going with posting longer pieces/ stories. For now I’m just writing little snippets, and journal entries to get the ball rolling.

I’m interested in writing sci-fi, fantasy, mystery, crime, and the general dark academia vibe. So, if you’re interested in those things or just want to be mutuals, let me know! I’d love some pen pals:)

So here's a list: Kaluha cheesecake, alfredo pasta, burgers with blue cheese, raspberry sorbet, veggie pizza with artichoke hearts and white sauce, macaroni and cheese, chicken pot pie, cinnamon hot chocolate, low mein, spring rolls, pho, spanikopita, gyros, roasted red pepper hummus, mushroom and sauerkraut pierogis, chicken and dumplings, turkey with gravy and stuffing...I could go on but I am getting hungry and none of this food is in my house

celebrity crush: I'm more likely to crush on characters than celebrities. Recently finished She-ra and Scorpia is too pure for this world

random fact: the scientific name for the skunk mephitis mephitis literally translates to bad smell bad smell. Oh...you meant a fact about me? My mistake. 

favourite ecosystem: I'm into forests, with pine and birch trees, stones covered in lichen and moss, ferns in the undergrowth, rivers running clear and ice cold from melting snow up in the mountains

favourite cat: any friendly one. I love cats, and they love me. Only problem being I am terribly allergic. I have one friend's house where I can't breathe properly for days after visiting because I can't resist the urge to pet his adorable cats and they know this and won't leave me alone

Happy STS, Adelina! How afraid were you to start your WIP? Now that you’ve started on it, how do you feel about it?

This is a great question! I was very afraid to start it. It’s a story I’ve been kicking around a long time, but the number of characters I hoped to have seemed very daunting. Now that I’ve started on it...I still feel a bit apprehensive, to be honest. I feel like my other projects have serious pacing problems, but I want this one to give the characters time to breath if that makes sense. I worry if I plan too much I’ll rush, but if I don’t plan enough there won’t be enough. But I love my characters so I feel I owe it to them to give it a go.

Happy STS! What are the cutest/sweetest things your characters have said to each other?

This question has made me realize that most of my characters are not good at verbally expressing emotions. One of them once packed a very nice picnic basket for his boss he was quietly in love with. Another refused to let the object of her affection be the test subject for one of her inventions. And there was an instance where two of my characters waltzed their way out of a psychedelic illusion nightmare together, but they never mentioned it again. Maybe a goal for my new WIP is to have one of my characters actually able to say sweet things, instead of just wishing they had. Thank you so much for the question!

WIP Introduction: If I Died With the Sunset

Genre: Fantasy, drama

Perspective: Shifts between characters, third person, past tense

Status: I have been slowly writing more and more from this story, and it is currently a mess of scrambled scenes, with over a hundred written and a hundred more on a "to write" list

Background: When I write "fanfiction", I like to take the concept and setting of the original piece and form all of my own characters and storylines. If I Died With the Sunset is the main piece I have been working on. It is a second-generation style fanfiction based on Kohei Horikoshi's My Hero Academia, composed of approximately two hundred and nine completely original characters.

Synopsis: If I Died is written in multiple intertwining viewpoints, focusing on Kai Yamada, Tatsuya Zaibatsu, Danno Sakata, and Namika Hata, a group of friends in Ultra Academy High School's hero course. Together, they struggle through their rocky friendship, along with love, loss, mental health, broken families, lost memories, and the overbearing weight that when they graduate from high school, all eyes will be on them as the heroes of the times.

Characters: These four have somehow risen to claim the titles of my main characters, so I'll start with them for now. The pov often sticks with one of them, and they have the most development and content.

(Note: A 'Quirk' or 'Meta Ability' is the individualized superhuman power in the MHA universe.)

Kai Yamada

"Maybe I am nothing more than a shadow."

Quirk: Shadow Travel - Yamada can enter and exit any shadow at will, though the ease of this depends on a number of factors, including the darkness of the shadow and his energy level. It is a powerful but very dangerous ability, with the possibility to kill anyone, including its user, under careless circumstances.

More mature and quiet than his friends, though also extremely protective of them, particularly Sakata. Can be rather affectionate when he tries. Otherwise sarcastic/dry, snappy, intimidating.

Strong Shintoist, only sort of religion he chooses to live by

Very connected to nature and loves gardening

Congenital heart defect - premature birth caused a bit of a malfunctioning valve

Tatsuya Zaibatsu

"What do you mean I can't play video games on the ceiling?"

Quirk: Sticker Skin - Zaibatsu can manually make any part of his skin into a strong adhesive surface. He mainly uses it to climb up walls and the like.

Not the sharpest tool in the shed, and a bit of a player. Will flirt with pretty much any girl, but has had his heart set on Hata from day one. Known as the "immature one", the "jokester", etc. Though he can be annoying, he is overall a very nice and enthusiastic guy. Will give you a hug nine out of ten times. Highkey part gecko.

Panic disorder and separation anxiety - his fatal flaw is that he hides these and other things that hurt him the most

Can't stand the sight of blood most of the time, may pass out or get stomach sick

He dumb, he know he dumb, he embrace the dumb

Danno Sakata

"Sleep is for the weak. And I am so very weak."

Quirk: Climate Control - Sakata can change the temperature of the air around him, with a range of negative ten to thirty-five degrees Celsius, up to sixty meters

At first, he seems antisocial and closed off, but once Yamada and Zaibatsu shake him out of it, he turns out to be an absolute ball of sunshine. He is friendly, caring, and innocent, even though he can get a little cheeky and sarcastic sometimes. Rather defensive and sensitive. He loves his friends more than anything and will be the first to lend an ear if someone needs to talk, but also appreciates his alone time just as much.

Diagnosed with type one narcolepsy at age nine. It bothers him greatly, but he doesn't let that show. After a while of his friends and classmates knowing he learns to get over the embarrassment because everyone is surprisingly nice about it. Despite the condition's severity, he refuses to let it stand in the way of his goal to become a hero and keeps it under control as best he can.

Due to narcolepsy, Sakata is on a fairly strict sugar- and caffeine-free diet (mainly no coffee or desserts) by his own choice

Dedicated athlete and surprisingly fit, still makes time for his middle school sports friends around hero work

Namika Hata

"Shut your damn mouth before I melt your face off, sweetheart."

Quirk: Liquifier - Hata can turn anything, living or nonliving, into a liquid form. This is irreversible and therefore can be dangerous if used improperly.

Perfectly packaged sickly sweet sarcasm. Like Sakata, she loves her friends more than anything, but it doesn't always come off in the best ways. She can seem overly possessive and controlling, though thankfully, this eases with time, exposing a more sensitive side. Hata's greatest fears are to be seen as weak or being ignored. She doesn't manage her emotions in the healthiest ways, at least when it comes to others, but she also doesn't let her feelings control her. She is often brisk and witty in conversation, but when things are good between her and the boys, she is downright cheerful and more easygoing.

Symbolically dyes her hair based on how rebellious she's feeling

Pretends she doesn't love the boys, as well as her little sister Suzu, even though they are her entire world

Her favourite hobby is art, mostly graffiti style, keeping it to canvases and her bedroom at her dad's house so that she doesn't get in trouble

hi everyone!! i’m ari, 20 and I never fucking learned how to read (my own work– what even is editing??) 

i’m a newbie to tumblr and writeblr, so i figured a writer intro would be the best way to start off! i love sci-fi, fantasy and na fiction. i’m currently drafting a WIP called Anchor-Point, and [stefon from snl voice] it has everything!!! a cool desi context that isn’t just the ~slums and flowers aesthetic~ Hollywood seems to love, prophetic dreams, intense sports rivalry, crime, dark academia influences and a messy wlw love triangle!! please feel free to send me asks about it, or anything else tbh– i’d love nothing more than to talk!!

An intro to my current WIP!

Extremely Tenative Title: Twelve Secrets (I have honestly been struggling on titling this, if you have any ideas I am all ears)

Genre: Fantasy/supernatural/little bit of horror/slightly steampunk

Short Synopsis: The outside world has been lost to the ghosts, and most of humanity are now spectres. Those that remain hide within a fortress built deep inside a vast network of mountain caverns. Twelve orphaned girls have been taken in by the ruler of the mountain, and though none would dare question his decision, rumors are circulating. Is it a coincidence the twelve girls resemble the witches that brought the ghosts to their world in the first place?

Why This story?: As a child I was always fascinated by the story of the Twelve Dancing Princesses, but very frustrated that nothing about the princesses was ever explained. Why were the princesses locked in a tower? How did the Princesses find the secret tunnel to the diamond forest? How did they learn how to make the sleeping potion? Who were the masked princes that they danced with? Did the one who had to marry the guy that ruined the whole thing ever get revenge?!?! I finally decided to answer my own questions, and this project is the result. It's deviating more from the original story everyday, but has still been enjoyable to work on.
