The Mr."Grey" After Effect (with Audio-Read version @SoundCloud)
She took another look at that corner of the room. After analysing his anatomy she was sure he’s just another normal looking guy on this planet. Just a plain shirt. Standard pair of jeans. No accessories whatsoever to enhance the look. Yet she can’t help the feeling of wanting to rip him off his clothes.
Was it that time of the month?
Not really. She was clean since last week, and it can’t be that soon.
He turns to another page from the book in his hand.
It felt like 15 minutes has passed since she first saw him leaning on that wall reading that book. She’s getting eager to finally see this alluring creature’s pair of eyes. She grabbed her neck to massage away her nerve, but it only makes her more tempted to eat him up. She took one last sip from her coffee cup. Bit her lips. Stood up. Sat back. She’s getting more agitated.
What the hell is wrong with you?
She took a look at her watch. Fixed her posture. Took a deep, long breath, and exhaled.
Then she took another look at the guy.
This time he finally looked up, straight into her eyes.
Damn, I should be more careful with what I wished for.
He leaned away from the wall while still looking at her. With a confused look, he decided to smile back at her.
Obviously she was embarrassed by her once-in-a-lifetime forward reaction. She looked away with a burning blush across her face. She decided to pack her stuff and just disappear in the middle of the air, well, if only she’s a Hermione. Then she stood up with her bag across her shoulder. Her eyes caught his, still looking at her curiously, as she walked across the cafe towards the exit. She walked pass in front of him without looking back. As she reached the pavement just outside the cafe, she stopped thinking if it’s the right decision to leave this moment as another vague memory of what-could-have-been.
Couple of minutes later she was on a bus towards her apartment, already regretting for missing another opportunity to be in love… yet again.
* * * * * * * * * *
Generated beautiful-boy-band looks was never her type. They are always nice to stare at, but never worth to be worshiping for. She thought to herself as she scrolled down on her phone to read one of the many boy band tabloids her friends on Facebook re-posted on her news feed.
As the elevator arrived she hoped to finally get on it this time as the crowd started pushing in. Unfortunately, she could only stood still as the elevator closed up in front of her, not forgetting to smile sarcastically towards the pack of human sardines in the elevator, leaving her alone in the hallway.
She moved to the next elevator when she saw the floor indicator showing it was about two levels away from coming down to the ground.
She took another look at the clock on her phone. Scrolling pointlessly through the menu, just to waste her time before the elevator arrives. Then she noticed a shadow standing next to her. Probably just another staff waiting for the elevator as well, or so she assumed.
Wait, is this guy looking at me right now?
Slowly she turned her head towards the shadow.
Oh. My. God!
In all of her many similar situations, her assumptions was never right. This time the shadow (who happened to be a familiar guy) was actually looking, straight at her.
Ding!
The elevator finally arrived after what it felt like forever, and like a klutz she tried to put herself back together to get in to the elevator. He followed right behind her.
The door closed. There were only two of them, with 37 more floors to go.
Nervously she bit her lips, fidgeting with her bag while trying hard not to look in his direction. She can feel he was still looking at her.
As she straightens her posture out of anxiety she noticed a note written on the blank side of a receipt passed right in front of her. Carefully she took it from his hand, and read.
Forgive me if I’m wrong. I think you’re the girl who smiled at me from that cafe last week.
Then another note appears, and again she took it from his hand to read.
For a week you kept me curious if there was something wrong on my face.
Feeling a little foolish she can’t help but to smile after reading the notes that confirms this was the guy that, sort-of and yet mysteriously, turned her on that day.
"So, was there something wrong on me?"
She turned her face towards the voice that asked her the question. Nervously she replied.
"No, there was nothing wrong with you," she nervously smiled to cover the embarrassment.
"Oh," he replied while turning his face away from her.
Then out of nowhere she can’t help the feeling to add her response to his previous question while turning her face towards him again.
"Actually, I was thinking of eating you up............."
…she immediately froze after hearing the words that just came out from her mouth.
"Oh. My. God," she turned her face away with her body shivering as she realized how ridiculously indecent her previous respond sounded.
"I think I just said something inappropriate out loud. That doesn’t sound right. Did I?," she asked herself out loud, still wondering if the words was just in her head.
"You mentioned that you were thinking of eating me up," he replied with his posture still awkwardly facing the elevator’s exit door.
"Oh damn! I did say that. I never said that. I should never say that. That is not right. This is downright awkward. I’m in hell. Oh my god! Why are we not there yet!?" she mumbles loudly as she saw the elevator floor indicator showing that she is still seventeen floors away from exit.
"Well," he said slowly. "I think I should level this awkwardness by telling you what I was actually thinking as well. You didn't just kept me feeling curious,"
A sudden sexual tension rises within her as she quietly trying to look at him from the corner of her eye.
He continues, “You left me a lingering sense of wanting to eat you up as well,”
Right at that very moment, his words left her frozen for a couple of seconds. Then she snapped herself back together with a better sense of the situation.
”You did?”
They both tilted their heads realizing a different sense of awkwardness. This time, not sexually though.
"Ehhh, now that I heard it out loud, it feels more stalker-ish than romantic…ish," he said feeling embarrassed for his words.
"Yeah, in literature books this is the kind of scene that could turn-on a valley of virgins for days, but now that it’s out there it felt like I’ll be handcuffed any minute now for… verbal indecency," she replied more comfortably while she fold her hands across her chest.
"But just so you know, I was trying to be romantic, and you did made me feel that way," he said while trying to take a quick glance at her.
"Wait, is this what they meant by mutual attraction?" she asked while turning her face towards him with a more casual manner.
With a confident smile he replied, “I believe so,”
He looked up to see that he only have four more floors to settle his curiosity once and for all.
"Now that it’s out there, I think it’s safe for me to be straight forward with you," he asked while turning his body towards her.
"Ok," she replied, turning to face him as well.
"I’m single. You?"
"Since I was born,"
"Okay,"
Ding!
They finally arrived at the 37th floor.
With their body still facing to each other, they turned their face away to see the empty hallway as the door to the elevator opens.
He continues, “Traditionally I should ask you out for a date first,”
"Yeah,"
"But I don’t want to do that now,"
"I agree," she replied turning her face towards him.
Then he turned his face towards her and continued to suggest, “I’m just waiting for this door to close back,”
"I was never going to leave anyway," she smiled flirtatiously.
And like a slow motion film montage, the sexual tension between them rises as the door of the elevator closes on them.
Probably the dim light from the elevator helps heightens the mood, but all that they know was at that very moment everything falls in the right places.
From the way they closed the gap between them.
To the way their lips introduces to each other.
And when they kissed, the time stood still.
Neither of them wanted to let go, but like every human they need to take a moment to breathe.
Still baffled by the undoubted chemistry between them, he took a look in her eyes and realized he had forgotten his manner from the first time they spoke.
"So, Hi," he said smiling.
"Hi," she replied with a blush as she bit her lower lips.
"I hope it's not too late for me to ask. What's your name?"

CHAPTER: The Confession of a Single-Virgin
She has a stable job as a Head Engineer, a beautiful condo in the heart of the city, and a paid off Volkswagen Golf Mk7. Though supermodels looked like an Amazon woman to her, she stood tall at an acceptably beautiful height for a lady. Her skin was not too pale, but adequately tanned. Other than that she is everything every parents wished for as a daughter in-law.
She has everything a girl needs.
Except for one thing, a man.

One look at her, everybody would assume she would at least had an ex-boyfriend. Sadly for her she never even been on a date.
She was not one of those girls who were oblivious about the opposite gender sexual attraction. To be frank, she thought herself as a hopeless-romantic type. She did tried reading the infamous "The Surrendered Single" book just to break her habit towards man, but nothing ever came out of it.
She is two years away from the 30's group, and entering as a virgin in the high society world has started to give her more pressure than ever.
Reading "Fifty Shades of Grey" doesn't even help either. In fact, it freaked her out more that she would never find her "Mr. Grey" in time before she becomes
an old hag. At one point she was even ready to give herself up for a simple pizza-delivery type of guy, but even the pizza guy won't stay for two seconds to let her test some flirting technique.
"What is wrong with me?"
It's the same question she asked herself every time she met a man that she find attractive but never made a pass on her. She even wonders if she appeared too "lesbian" to the opposite gender, but then again even lesbians never tried to flirt with her.
Was her clothes too loose? Was her face too dull? Was her voice to weird? Was her gestures too awkward?
For 28 years she couldn't figure herself out.
She blamed this all on her best friend, Julia, of 5 years who placed her at the singles table in her wedding day today. It was more depressing because all the singles on the table already found someone in the reception party and left her alone at the table.
She couldn't help feeling a pang of envy when she saw Julia dancing with her now husband. She could have that. She want that. She wants someone that would let her put her arms around "him" and hear the famous three letter words that will finally claim her heart.
She began to feel bored of herself. She wonders if that is why nobody wants to come close to her.
"LIZ!" she jumps off her sit as Julia surprised her from the back.
"You scared me Jules!" she put her palms across her chest trying to catch her breath.
"Well, why aren't you be dancing right now?" ask Julia as she sits next to her.
She stares back at Julia as if wondering she was being sarcastic, "You know exactly why I am not dancing right now,"
"Oh come on! You could at least try to flirt with the bartender if you don't feel like moving around the hall. I purposely picked that barkeep as your option to test out your flirting skills," said Julia with a hint of giggle underneath her breath.
"Oh, really? Well you did a good job in picking a hot bartender, but apparently the other single ladies already caught his attention. There is no way he would notice me over those blondes with their push-up bras," said Elizabeth as she was scanning over the ladies with 24-inch waist leaning against the bar flirting with the bartender.
"It's your fault for not jumping on the first chance you get,"
"But seriously, what is wrong with me? Is this dress to dull? I purposely bought a MaxAzria hoping someone would notice the expensive dress at least," she said while pointing out her electric blue strapless dress she bought two weeks ago.
"Who would if you keep on sitting at the table. Stand up! Go dancing! I know my grandpa would appreciate it if you dance with him," she laughed at her.
"Fine! Just this once. If he starts to get all touchy I'm out of the door,"
"Awesome," they both stood up and started walking with their arms linked towards the dance floor.
"By the way Jules, you look beautiful. Congratulations babe," she whispers at Julia, and she smiled back at her and hold her tight in her arms.
She was actually enjoying herself dancing with Julia's grandfather who was on the wheelchair. Sometimes she switched partners with Julia's 10 and 7 years old nephews. She was always good with kids. Next thing she knew all the kids started dancing close to her because they wanted her to swing them around like the way she did with the kid before them. She didn't mind at all. She might as well enjoy it even though no man will notice her sexy dress.
The heels was starting to kill her so she asked for time out from the kids. As she sat down a little boy who danced with her before came to her with a flower.
"Thank you for the dance. You're beautiful," said the boy who showed a dimple when he smiled.
"Oh, thank you," she took the flower and lean her cheek towards the boy and let him kiss her. She almost cried a little inside, and was wondering if only the boy was 20 years old older she would asked him to marry her in that instance. A long shot for her indeed as she can only dream.
As she took off her heels to rest her legs, she noticed a figure standing in front of her. She looked up and saw a man smiling at her.
"Thank you," said the man. She was confused and started to look around wondering if he was really talking to her. She pointed a finger at herself gesturing at the man if he was talking to her, and as he nod a spark of joy ignites in her.
"My son can be a handful, but I noticed he is quite taken with you. He never liked any girl I went out with. He rejects every one of them because he still won't let me replace my late wife," said the man while showing the similar dimple as the little boy that he claimed to be his son.
She was trying to figure out the situation at that very moment as fast as she can.
A single-virgin who never had a man-situation managed to attract a kid's attention whose father is supposedly a widower. A very attractive widower in a suit.
"May I sit here?" the widower pointed out towards the chair next to her.
"Please," without a second thought she gestured a "why-not" to the man.
Both of them were blushing as they caught each others gaze.
She immediately told herself that this was the first time any boy gave a flower to her and a man asking to sit next to her. She saw too many romantic films and literature to understand where this was heading for her, and she didn't want to miss any opportunity to have a chance in "love".
"I don't want to sound weird or anything, but I have a confession to make before you say anything," she was taken by surprise to hear herself saying these words.
"Uh, sure," said the man who was looking back at her eager for her explanation.
"I never had a date with a man before. Nor have any man tried to make a pass on me. I honestly find you very attractive to try and flirt with me just because your son likes me more than your ex-girl or current girlfriend. I know I sound like a self-conscious freak right now, and I know I'm just imagining thinking that you were attracted to me. But since you are an experienced man with the ladies, would you mind tell me if I would have any chance with any man in this room right now?" In that moment her inner-self dropped her jaw to the floor after hearing her own confession to this stranger. She surprised herself and felt so embarrassed as she gazed back at the stranger waiting if he would be walking away any seconds now. Instead he just laughed and showed a deeper dimple on both his cheeks. He caught her gaze and gave her a heart-melting-smile.
"First of all, you don't sound like a freak. Though it is the first time I ever heard a confession like this, and I appreciate your honesty. Second, I was trying to strike a conversation with a beautiful girl who managed to steal my son's attention for the first time. Third, I don't have a girlfriend since 8 months ago, and finally, I honestly think you do have a chance with any man in this room if you want to. In a matter of fact, after hearing your confession I was secretly hoping you'd give that chance to me," said the man standing up while holding out his hand to her for a dance.
At that moment she was at awe of herself and at the man who just asked for her hand for a dance for the first time.

"I was kinda jealous of my son earlier. So, may I have this next dance with you?" said the man while still waiting for her hand.
With the look of awe still plastered on her face she placed her hand on his, but immediately realized she took her shoes off. After struggling to get her heels back on she got herself together and once again she placed her hand on the man who was still looking forward to dance with her.
They both went to the dance floor and started dancing slowly towards the slow ballad song. They both couldn't take their each other's eyes as they dance through the day.
She understood that she barely knew this man, but already he swept her off her feet. She was not sure if she has a future with him, but she knew her future has begun to take a new turn. Just when she started to give up on herself, cupid has finally struck an arrow towards her.
It might have taken her a long time to understand what a man really want from her...
...And all it took was a little confession.

The random things Girls think about...
HIM: Good morning! Whatcha doing there?
HER: Oh! Morning. Just packing up my books for my class later. I’ll move these out of the way for you.
HIM: It’s okay. I’m just gonna watch the TV anyway. Where’s Lisa?
HER: She just went out to meet her boyfriend for breakfast.
HIM: Hey, I’m sorry for crashing in the last minute. I didn’t expect the horrible flight delay. I promise I’ll be off by tomorrow morning.
HER: No, it’s cool. Lisa is your sister anyway. Who else do you look for help but your family right? So, you wanna finish that drink?
HIM: No, it’s not mine. I think Lisa left that there when her friends came over. I slept immediately when they arrive. I was way too tired to be joining her little party.
HER: I’ll just clean ‘em all then. (As she was about to turn around with the mugs in her hand, she tripped and spilled the drinks on him) Oh god! I’m so sorry!
HIM: No, no. Don’t worry. I’ll just take ‘em off. I need to wash them anyway.

CHAPTER: You Won't Forget Tonight
*This short fantasy was inspired by the new song released by Comets We Fall. Checkout their sound clip here: You Won't Forget Tonight
-----***-----

Should I stay, or should I leave.
Was the question that kept running across his mind. He need to make the decision fast, and whichever he choose will change her life forever.
And maybe theirs.
-----***-----
He stepped out from his car while looking at her walking towards her apartment's entrance door. He wouldn't lie that he was the happiest tonight even though the first kiss was supposed to be a lie. He thought about this as he leaned against his back on his car while staring at the car keys he was playing in his hand. Then he heard her voice slowly calling for his attention.
“I know it’s late, but would you like to come up stairs with me…”
Anyone who has seen a love story knows this is the cliché phrase that tells the mutual feelings between the boy and the girl truly exist.
His heart skips a beat, but he was not sure if he should stay, until she continues to say something that was not something you hear in any cliché love stories.
“Sure,” he smiled.
As they ride the elevator together the silence was still there. Then suddenly she pressed the button to her apartment’s level before it got any further up.
“I’m just going to leave my purse and maybe bring some coffee for us,” she explained herself.
“Let me help you then,”
“No, it’ll just take a couple of minutes. I’ll see you up stairs,” she said while stepping out from the elevator.
“Ok,”
-----***-----
Up at the roof, as he looked up towards the moon he can’t help but to smile as it reminds him of the night that he first realized his feelings for her.
Should I stay, or should I leave.
If I stay, I should let her know why I didn't want this charade to end, but if I leave we’ll fake break-up as per-plan. The friendship moves on, and I’ll help her find the dream “travelling-man” that was supposed to have tamed her heart.
But if I told her, and she didn't feel the same way, this friendship might get awkward. Besides she was acting awkward after the kiss. Did I kissed too much? Was it gross? I thought it was nice. Her perfume smells nice. Her hair was soft against my hand. Her neck. Her lips.
“Here’s your coffee,” she said breaking him away from his train of thought.
“Thanks,”
“Don’t laugh okay?”
“Why,” he asked looking curious at her as she laid down her coffee mug at the table.
Then out of nowhere she screamed her lungs out towards the night sky.
“Whoa!! Well, that was exactly what I needed,”
“Wow. You are tensed,” he said laughing while drinking his coffee.
“So, I wanted to know. Why did you kissed me at the office Gala tonight?”
“Excuse me?” he responded shockingly while trying to hold in the coffee in his mouth.
“It’s just that you could have just made an excuse. I thought we made it clear you were supposed to just act like the fake boyfriend I've created around the office for three years. Well, yeah my boss did demand us to kiss right there, but I immediately made an excuse to my boss so we shouldn't disrespect other people around us with any act of public intimacy. But you! You kinda just went with it,”
“What do you want me to say? I thought it was not a big deal. You! You said you were okay, and you even told me to relax and be done with it,”
“Whatever. It's done anyway. I’m just playing with you,”
He stood there in confusion as she walked across the open space and continued explaining herself.
“But really, I thought you were a good kisser. It was nice,”
“Aaa… Thank you? I guess,” he replied trying to digest her confession.
“It's just that... that was sort of my first adult kiss. For a moment there I thought I was like, waiting for you to kiss me again! Nah, I’m just kidding. We both know we were playing. So, I was like time to get back to reality girl!” she said trying to laugh it off. Then she put herself back together and said, “So, I guess I should thank you for going along with this little lie of mine. I guess this is where I and the fake boyfriend should break up,”
“Yeah, I guess,” he said still standing frozen in last position.
“This will be one of the nights I won’t forget, and it’s a tiring one. Whew! I guess I should go back to my apartment now,” she said before walking towards him and plant a kiss on his cheek.
“Goodnight, and thank you,” she thanked him and walked towards the exit door.
“Tell me then, were you happy?” he finally asked and stopped her midway towards the door. He continues to ask “Were there any hint of happiness in you when we kissed?”
She turned around and replied, “Of course. Well, it sort of felt like how a first kiss should feel like in a girl’s prom night. You were good, really good! I kinda understand why Theresa went crazy when you dumped her last year,”
“Ok,” he said slowly.
“Ok?” she responded.
"Goodnight," he said as he walked towards the exit door leaving her behind.
She was confused for a moment there and left the roof as well back to her apartment.
As she was about to wash the coffee mug there was a knock on her door. She opened it knowing it was him waiting outside.
“You’re still here?” she asked
He was breathing heavily as if he just ran up the stairs instead of using the elevator and said nothing.
“Do you want to come inside?”
He still said nothing while standing with his right arm rested against the frame door. He just stared in her eyes as if he was still waiting for an answer.
“What’s wrong? What do you want me to say?” she asked still confused with his actions. “You want to know more? You really want to know what actually happened?! “
He still said nothing.
“Ok, fine I’ll say it then. Whatever! Remember three years ago, when you went to Italy for a back-pack trip alone. You sent me postcards of every city you went. Well, I know that I was the one who asked for it, but I was happy. I liked it. Then you came back with your bag still on your back. You said you came straight to my place first because you were tired to drive all the way back to your home. You stayed here for two nights. I didn’t mind you slept on my couch, and sometimes I watched you. Yeah, I know! It’s creepy. I can’t help it. You were there. So, I watched you sleep. Like a baby. Kinda cute actually. So, I get to cook you breakfast. I washed your clothes. It was not a big deal because I was happy to do it. It’s silly. I know, but that day I felt like I could actually take care of someone, and that maybe I could be a wife. Maybe I could be in love. Maybe I could actually love someone and make him feel content with just my raspberry pancake,”
“I love that raspberry pancake,” finally he responded.
“I know you do. That’s why I was so proud of my recipe. That’s how I came up with the fake boyfriend rumor, because later that day I went to the office with this big smile plastered all over my face. For the whole week they won’t stop asking why I looked so happy! Well, truth is!" she said.
Then she took a deep breathe and continue to explain calmly.
"Truth is, you being here made me happy. Truth is, your kiss made me feel like I might be capable to actually find love. For the first time I finally understand what The Shoop Shoop Song was all about. Truth is, you just taught me what mutual connection truly means and it felt so real I didn’t want it to end. So, there, I said it and I’m sorry for being awkward about it. I hope we’re still friends,” she asked feeling nervous after spilling out all her weird new found obsession.
“No we’re not,” he replied.
“We’re not?” she asked feeling disappointed with what she had done by sacrificing their five years of friendship.
“We’re not just friends anymore. We’re best friends. Right?” he responded with a tilted smile.
“We are?” she replied back with a question again.
“Because best friends can keep on doing awkward things with each other and still stay friends the next day. As if nothing happened,”
“Yeah, I think so. Sure, like that awkward thing happened back there in the Gala, huh,” she said laughing it off with a sigh of relief while pointing back with her thumb. “Thankfully it’s a friendship-safe-kind-of-awkward,” she continues to laugh and smiles at the face of her newly re-claimed best friend who was smiling back at her calmly.
“Even if it involves awkward things like this,” he said while leaning in slowly to her.
She stood still as his face moves closer to hers. His lips were so close that if she makes a single move they might touch, but she wouldn't dare. He looked straight in her nervous eyes. Her body shivers waiting for his next moves, but he just smiles and laughed. “Awkward, right?” he asked.
“Yeah!” she replied while exhaling the nerve she held inside during that moment.
“But we’re still friends,” he said leaning back on his two feet.
“Yeah, like what was that about? Pheww,” she said while trying to fan out the sudden heat from her face.
“Then I hope it’s not awkward if I asked to stay for the night,” he asked calmly.
“Pfff! We’re friends silly. Of course you’re welcome to stay. You’ve stayed here before,” she replied with a smile while pointing at the couch he used to sleep on.
“And lifting you up is not really awkward, right?”
“Woah,” she responded shockingly while he lifted her up by her waist and placed her on top of her kitchen counter.
“There. It’s not awkward at all,” he said still smiling at her calmly.
“No, this is totally normal. You just helped me to sit on my counter. I totally do this. Like every day, maybe,” she said laughing but still feeling nervous and confused by his actions.
He then turned around to lock her front door and walk back in front of her placing his hands next to her. Then he gave her another tilted smile before continuing to talk.
“Now let me tell you my confession,”
She looked straight at his eyes as if she was under his spell while slowly responding, “Ok,”
“Two years ago, after we had that Thanksgiving dinner at my parents place, you were standing under the moon by the lake. Alone, and yet, you looked so calm. Truth is, I was watching over you for a while from the balcony. Truth is, I couldn’t take my eyes off of you that night. Truth is, that was the moment I learned something new was growing inside of me. Then when you left in your car, I wished you would stay. That was when I started to wonder if I was in lov...” immediately she placed her finger over his lip before he could finish the word she thought he was about to say.
He smiled at her actions and slowly pulled her finger away. Then he continued to explain himself. “Apparently my mom was upset during that dinner when you said I was just like a brother to you. I never knew she looked at us that way. So, I hooked up with Theresa when I met her at our high school friend’s wedding. My parents were sort of okay when I finally came home with a girlfriend, but I wasn't. After a while we broke up because I know it should’ve been you. I was waiting for the right moment to say it to you, because you said you wanted to try to fall in love at least once. So, I let you. I've waited for so long to have you at the right moment just when you’re about to fall,”
“And you think I am now?” she asked nervously but still under the spell of his eyes.
“Aren't you?”
“Why don’t you try and see it for yourself,”
At that moment they both smiled flirtatiously, approving what was about to happen.
“Then, allow me to make this more awkward,” he said.
“Could it be any more awkward?” she asked.
“You said you never had a first real kiss. I would like to officially make tonight the night you experienced how a real mutual kiss feels like,”
“Would you, please?” she smiled and laughed anxiously as she wait for him to make the move.
“First, I need you to breathe in and out slowly with me,”
“Ok,”
“Breathe,” he said as she inhaled and exhaled slowly.
“Breathe,” he said while leaning in closer to her as she inhaled and exhaled slowly again.
“Breathe,” he said with a lower voice as their lips reached closer while she inhaled and exhaled slowly, again.
Then as he locked his eyes to hers, she placed a finger between their lips and said, “Promise me you’ll make this last,”
“I promise. You won’t forget tonight,”

CHAPTER: ...just don't forget to breathe

her: Damn it!! (She said as she slammed the table) him: Hey, relax ok! Sheesh, you know you gotta learn how to chill once in a while. her: Just shut up! I'm trying to figure out how to solve this equation for my side project. Athletes like you will never understand. Anyway, this work has nothing to do with you and our lab work for today is done. You may go now. him: Hey, I'm your lab partner. You could have at least try and ask me if I know how to solve it. her: Ok, fine. So can you help me solve this? ...Please? (She looked at him trying to be sarcastic) him: Well, thank you for asking but, sorry I can't. Because athletes like me don't know anything about science. (He replied with a smirk while throwing his bag over his shoulder and walked out from the lab) her: Thank you so much asshole! I regretted the day I came in late to class just to have a monkey-brain like you as my lab partner. She turned back to finish her science project, but only to feel more frustrated that she can't find the solution. About half an hour later, he stopped by the door looking over his lab partner, who was still in the lab, biting her lips with frustration written all over her face. him: You know, if you just relax and regain your focus you might see things more clearly. You might even see the answer you're looking for. That's what athletes like me do all the time before winning our 3rd National championship in a row. She stopped and stares up at him while scrunching her eyebrows. her: Excuse me?

She stares blankly at the empty doorway thinking about his advice. Then she stood straight and took a long inhale and exhale calmly. He was right. She should learn how to chill once in a while.
Later, she went back home with a satisfaction of completing her project. Although his advice helped her to finish her 4 months of hard work, she didn't expect the after-effect.
Two-weeks later in the evening she found herself in front of his house ringing his door-bell.
him: Hey, partner! I wasn't aware we have a study group tonight. Matter of fact we never study together since... ever! her: Shut your crap and just take it back! He looked ever left and right looking for the thing she mentioned. Founding nothing he looked back at her with a strange look. him:Take what back? her: What you said.
She replied with a look like someone who desperately needs help.
Then slowly he stepped out and shut the door behind him
him: What did I said? her: I can't do it anymore! Every time I think about it I can't imagine without you being there! Even worse I rather die so that I won't have to see you in my head. Why do you have to say things like that!?? Please, take your words back! I want my focus back, please.
She said while punching at him several times, but he grabbed both of her hands. All she could do is to plead with tears in her eyes.
With his hands still grabbing hers he asked with concern. him: I honestly don't know what you're talking about but I'm sorry. What did I said? He looked straight in her eyes filled with tears waiting for answers. her: ...you told me to breathe. I did and I was so happy after getting my focus back. Then when I get frustrated again I remember you telling me to breath and that's when it started. I can't get you out of my head with that smirk of your face! It was like you were looking down at me because I can't hold back my temper. It was like you're controlling me. Of all the things you could say you told me to breathe. Now it’s like you control my air. And I need it back, please. She looked at him with desperation. him: I'm sorry but I never meant to take it away from you.
He laughed a little with relief in his voice. her: I don't care just take it back! Please!
She begged him with his hands still grabbing her wrists. him: Well, I can't take it back. her: What!!? him: But I'll help you. Just trust me. What I'm going to do is like a therapy. You know how with repeating an activity your body will learn to adapt to it? her: Yeah? him: That's what we're going to do.(Slowly he let go of her hands and hold her shoulders to calm her) Look into my eyes and follow me. her: Ok. him: Breathe in... Breathe out... Breathe in... Breathe out... Slowly inhale... and exhale. Are you calm? her: I think so. him: Now take another deep inhale, and slowly exhale ...How do you feel? her: Better I guess. him: Now we're gonna take one last breath and you can close your eyes. her: I don't want to.. him: Then, will you trust me? her: I don't want to ...but I’ll trust you. him: Ok, just don't forget to breathe.
Slowly he leaned in towards her and slides his hand across her neck. With their eyes locked, she exhaled and willinglycame closer to him. As their lips touched they took a deep long breath in each other...

CHAPTER: [ANTM20 Fanfic] I Wouldn't Lie If You're The One

ANTM Cycle 20 [Chris H./Nina] Episode 13: This fiction took place right at the moment Nina & Jeremy were eliminated.
...................................................................................................
Tyra: I'm sorry Nina...
The moment Nina saw her name shadowed her heart collapse. The future she had hoped for has finally ended. Then she felt a pair of arms wrapping around her as she palms her face to control her tears. She has been fighting emotionally for the past few weeks and only now he decided to console her. It was already too late. She felt nothing from his embrace.
With a broken heart Nina walk by her friends whom are still continuing the competition, giving them her last hugs and good luck wishes. As she walk pass the backstage she grabbed the necklace he gave to her and yanked it out of anger and threw it on the floor of the hallway.
Followed by Jeremy, Nina entered the greenroom greeted by Don whom were surprised to see her.
Don: You are the last person I hope to see here!
Nina continue to cry and grabbed Don by the shoulders. Don: It's okay girl. Just cry, it'll get better. Come on man, you too. Don gestured to Jeremy to join in the group hug. They continue this for a couple of seconds and then Don grabbed the tissue by the end-table for Nina to wipe her tears.
They settled by the couch and continue to talk to consult each other when they heard a knock by the door.
Jeremy: What are you doing here?!!

Chris H.: I'm sorry guys. I asked to come here to talk.
Don: What more do you wanna say man?! You wanna brag how you survived another round?
Chris H.: First of all I'm sorry if I came off the wrong way with you guys.
Jeremy: Well, we're not sure if you were trying to make things right.
Chris H.: and second I'm here to talk with Nina... alone.
Jeremy and Don looked at each other wondering if they should just shove him out of the room but before they do they asked Nina if that's what she wanted.
Nina might be making a big mistake but deep inside her good heart she wants to give him a last chance. He did made an excuse to come all the way to talk to her, which is unheard of in an ANTM-elimination history.
Nina: It's okay guys. I'll be okay. Can you guys wait outside for a while.
Jeremy: If you want us to come back in and smack him just call our name okay?
Nina: Okay
She smiled and laughed a little knowing she'll always have her other friends to support her.
Jeremy and Don left the room while giving the warning look to Chris H..
Chris H.: I'm gonna shut the door ok?
Nina nodded. She took another tissue to wipe her tears as he grabbed a chair and sat right in front of her. He took a deep breath before he began.
Chris H.: Hi...
Nina looked up into his eyes, looking surprised at his first word, but then slowly she replied,
Nina: Hi.
He smiled knowing that he got her attention.
Chris H.: I have a confession to make. I've lied to you, and I've lied to everyone in this cycle. I'm telling you this, and only you because I trust you. I hope you can keep this a secret from everyone, but only until the show ends.
Nina: Oh.. of course. But... what are you talking about? What do you mean you lied?
Chris H.: I'm actually a student in Psychology. I proposed to Tyra and the company that if I entered the competition I would pretend to be the most self-conscious and emotionally disturb man alive just to see how the models would react to live with a man as such. It was all as part of my study. I put up an act to be this guy who hates everyone just to see how far a person would go dealing with my "issues", and what will they do to control the "tension" i built. At one point I thought I couldn't go on with the act, which is why I was always on my own so that I can re-collect myself and continue the act without getting busted. I did everything I can to go along with the program, by being a good model and the Chris H. everybody hates.
Nina: Waa wait... What?!
Chris H.: I knew this sounds like an unfair set-up but I did really came into the competition fair and square just like everybody else. There was no biased on me entering this competition. In the matter of fact I'm actually surprised that I got this far. I calculated all the outcomes from the beginning, but there was one thing I didn't expect to happen.
Nina: What was that?
Chris H.: ...You
Nina release a big sigh of relief but still confused with the situation that unravels in front of her. He lick the bottom of his lips and continue to explain himself.
Chris H.: From the beginning when I studied everyone's character I knew that you would be the anchor in the group. You're the one that kept everyone grounded. You put the smile on our faces and every single one of us can't help but to fall in love with you.
Nina took a deep breathe listening to his explanation.
Chris H.: But I didn't expect to fall deeper than I should. When you cried that day on the boat, I wanted so bad to hold you and calm you down. But that would break my character, so I had to hide next to Jourdan and laughed about something else just to control my urge to go to you.
Nina couldn't believe what she was hearing as she witnessed the tear drops that fell from his eyes.
Chris H.: You were so close to me but I had to control by scratching my knees or laugh it off and do something else. Apparently it worked very well for my character, because everybody kept on hating on me, which was what I planned for from the beginning. In order to achieve that, I had to sacrifice my feelings from you.
He took a deep breathe to control his tears, but he knew he can't.
Chris H.: But most of all... I'm sorry. I'm sorry that I hurt you. But I don't want to be sorry for falling in love with...
She pulled him in for that long awaited kiss. She grabbed the back of his hair as he pulled her in by the waist. They stopped for a while to catch a breath and he continued,
Chris H.: I'm sorry I lied, but I can't let you go without letting you know how I feel. How I really feel, and I was more than sure when I saw this on the floor.
He took out the necklace she threw at the hallway earlier. She chuckles with laughter feeling bad that she did that earlier.
Chris H.: Can you forgive me, and can we start from the beginning when this is over? No more characters. Just us, with the real me.
Nina: I forgive you.
She grabbed the necklace off his hand before she replied.
Nina: ...and I would love to start again with you.
They stood up and take another long kiss, but this time with tears of happiness.
Chris H. stopped as he held the doorknob. He took one last look deep in her eyes and took a deep breathe. He went out the door with a straight face but was blocked by Jeremy and Don.
Chris H.: What?! Get out of the way man! I got a show to get back to.
Jeremy and Don rushed back in to the room to see Nina with tears in her eyes, but they were confused to see that she was smiling.
Don: You okay girl?
Nina: I am. Surprisingly I am.
Jeremy: What happened?
Nina: Well, I can't say it now, but I promise you it'll be soon.

CHAPTER: the Unrequited Love

It was supposed to be the night every senior shouldn't miss out, but he decided to stay in-doors and help around the house. His parents kept pushing him to go and have fun at the prom, but he just couldn't bring himself to do that. He thought he'd be better off if he didn't saw her with him tonight. It was bad enough that he had to make that lie saying he was actually taking Sarah as his date when he never even asked her.
He tucked away the tux his mother hanged for him on his closet door. As much as he wants to see her tonight, he knew this was the right decision.
He was about to go behind the garage to put away all the gardening tools he was using that evening when he heard a truck coming in the drive-way. The minute he saw the truck he panicked trying to think of an excuse to tell her, but he kept his posture and remained calm as if he got nothing to hide.
Despite the fact she came in on an old rusty white truck, she still looked beautiful in his eyes when he saw her stepping out from the truck with her prom dress. He never saw her in a formal dress before. Better yet she never pulled off a dress for as long as he can remember.
She wore a one-piece silver dress with straps made of lace and the skirt that fell gracefully at her nude Mary-Jane pump. In his mind all that he can think of was, "damn! Why does she have to look that good," and she does. He can't help feeling jealous as he imagines Brian held her in his arm tonight. She should be happy, but her expression in this moment was otherwise. She was pissed.

"While locking each other's gaze slowly he leaned in and meets her lips. He inhales in her mouth and she responded the same. He grabbed the back of her neck while the other hand wrapped around her waist and pulling her in towards him. He pushed her hair to the other side so that his fingers could caress the nape of her neck..."
"What the hell are you doing??! Aren't you supposed to be in your tux right now? Weren't you supposed to be picking up Sarah at her house?" she yelled at him.
"Well I thought Brian was supposed to pick you up in his Limo!" he strikes back at her while pointing out to her truck.
"Well I... I just didn't want... him to come and... pick me up! It doesn't matter because we promised to meet at the prom instead. Besides that's the least of my problem compare to you. Are you standing up to Sarah? What happened?" she looked him in the eye as if she actually believed that was what he was up to. Sadly she was wrong.
He couldn't lie to her anymore, so he told her the truth. Well, half of the truth. He was still not ready to tell her that she was the reason he couldn't go to that prom.
They have been friends ever since kindergarten. Everybody knew they were close, the whole neighborhood knew. They don't need social network to proof how close they were. If they want to console with each other they always end up in the other's rooftop by the window in the middle of the night. He was her safe haven, but it meant more to him than to her.
She tried many ways to persuade him to go to the prom, but he still won't budge. In the end she gave up. They then agreed it was just another party and being absent from the prom won't hurt their relationship so she decided to just smile and leave him there to resume what-ever he was doing before.
But just before she turned around he grabbed her arms. He told her he had something for her. He wanted it to be a graduation gift, but he decided that this gift is perfect for this occasion instead. So she waited for him to get it.
When he came back he had both of his arms behind him. He told her to close her eyes and no peeking. She laughed at this notion but immediately followed his instruction.
Although she wasn't able to see, she can feel his body coming closer to her. They've played hide and seek before. There would always be this sense of excitement as she was trying to figure out where his hiding place would be while she shut her eyes. But this game is different. She knew exactly where he is. She knew exactly where his fingers went and in that moment she felt it wrapped around her neck. It was the gentlest touch she never thought he could ever give.
She took a deep breath when she felt his lips close to the side of her neck just under her ear. She knew every ticklish part of her body and it was around her waist and her knee area, but when she felt his breath on her neck her whole body shivers and she let out a long exhale.
She knew in that instant it was a necklace, and she wanted to open her eyes but she couldn't bring to it. There was a sudden rush of adrenaline running through her veins that very moment. A feeling she never thought exist. Truth is it was a feeling she has been denying ever since five years ago when they went to that camp together. It was that night when he swoop her before she fell from that tree house. The midnight swimming in that lake when they both decided to take as everybody else was sound asleep in their camp, and that final day when the fire broke out in the kitchen where she was in-charge of with the other campers. That day she thought she was going to die, but not until he came in out of no-where picking up her body and wrapped her in his arms as they made it to safety outside of the camping area. In that moment she never wanted to let him go and not even a second.
It was the same feeling she had tonight.
She doesn't want him to pull out. With her eyes still shut, instead of grabbing for the pendant of the necklace she grabbed the collar of his loose grey shirt. His face was still at the side of her cheek and gently both of his hands fall to the side of her shoulders. He was so close that she can feel him breathing at the side of her jawline.
Slowly she opened her eyes, and immediately she met his gaze staring deep in her. Both of them were frozen in that moment, none of them wanted to let go. She wants to think of something to say instead she licked the bottom of her lips to resist the temptation running through every inch of her body.
He pulled back slowly so that he'll be facing directly to her face. He leaned in closer slowly as if to kiss her, but he stopped midway to meet her gaze.
She didn't say a word, nor did she try to stop him from coming in closer. She took a deep inhale and exhaled as if she was trying to tell him she was ready.
While locking each other's gaze slowly he leaned in and meet her lips. He inhales in her mouth and she responded the same. He grabbed the back of her neck while the other hand wrapped around her waist and pulling her in towards him. He pushed her hair to the other side so that his fingers could caress the nape of her neck while his thumb massage under her jawline below the ear. It made her wanted him even more as she wrapped both of her arms around his shoulder and pushed herself toward his body and his lips.
In that moment, both of them fell into the long temptation that they've been holding back for years. She found her fingers grabbing the back of his hair. With their lips still locking with each other, they found their tongues started to make their own moves. It was a new sensation for both of them.
Realizing they need to breath for air, they pulled back slowly panting rapidly.
He never thought that she would respond the same way he did with this first kiss. Deep inside he wondered if she did felt the same about him.
She blinks rapidly trying to figure out what just happened. When she caught his eyes a sudden rebel started to fight her way out of this new embrace she just shared with him. Finally she found the words to say to him as she finally understands the feeling that she kept away from him,
"I can't do this," she said as she pulled away from his arms.
"What do you mean?" he began to feel more confused about her feelings towards him.
"I can't… I just... I love you, but you're my best friend and I don't want to lose that,"
"You will never lose me,"
"You don't get it, this is... this was not supposed to happen,"
"But it did, and," he tried to re-collect his breath to say the words he has been holding back for so long, "...I love you,"
Her eyes were wide open and her jaw dropped. She was shocked by his confession. She licked her lips impatiently as she was trying to explain herself but she knew in that instance she had to go before it gets worse. She calmed herself and looked straight into his eyes. What she saw was a boy that loved her back, but the pressure was too much for her and she told herself to step back.
"I'm sorry," She pulled back to her truck and started to drive away.
She didn't even give him a chance to express himself as she sees him chasing her down the road half-way through her rear-view mirror. Part of her told her it was the right decision but another part of her caused tears to fell from her eyes telling her to go back.
He didn't know whether he should be happy or regret that he finally kissed her. But what he never knew was from that day on he lost the chance of being with the one girl that would finally requite his love.

Conversation
CHAPTER: Until death brought us a part..
him: I should have told you that I was not ready.
her: ..and you decided to do that now? You knew exactly what happened between us that day. Yes, you were my best friend, we had a lot of things in common. My whole body told me I should have kissed you that day, but I didn't. Because I don't want to lose what we had. Do you know how I felt when I heard you were dead? I actually thought it was my fault for not letting you know how I felt.
him: But it's not!
her: Are you sure?! Well can you explain those pictures!? And why did you still have them if you wanted to forget me so bad?
him: Because I still can't...
her: why not?
him:...
her: Daniel proposed to me. He loves me dearly, but I couldn't answer him yet. I blame it on you.
him: He can make you happy..
her: but you can't?!
him: It's true that I fake my death to get you out of my life. 10 years passed, and I managed to build up my life again as a new person. Never did I knew you would come back to my life. I actually thought we were supposed to be together. Then I realized our fate brought Daniel to you, and he loves you very much. He's a good friend, and I never saw him so sincere about someone other than you. Part of me told me to let you go, and another part of me told me to get you back...but I know it won't be fair to you. I've left you, I'm not that same old Jonathan you used to know. What you want was that teenager who used to be in the same photo club with you. I'm no longer that boy. He's dead.
her: No he's not! I know he's still in there somewhere. I told myself the same thing too, that Jonathan was gone and I will never see him again. But then I felt it, when you kissed me at the lake. I knew it then if I you let me come back to you, I could bring him back... I could bring you back...
him: Would you?
her: if you let me..
him: But I can't do it to Dan, he deserves you more than me
her: No!
him: Just promise me this. Never hold back your feelings to anyone anymore. Tell him that you love him, or he'll end up like me.
her: then tell me the truth. If "Jonathan" wasn't dead, what would he do?
him: He would be married to you right now, only if you still love him then.
her: This is our goodbye then?
him: I wanted so bad that it won't come to this. But here we are.
her: Goodbye then..
him:....(as tear drops from his eyes).. Goodbye

CHAPTER: A Note From Her Past
There was a light at the end of the tunnel.
With shackles locked between her feet she ran as hard as she could. Her hand was reaching towards the shadow of a man standing in front the light who was holding out his hand to hers.

No matter how far she ran she still couldn't reach him. He was so close and yet so far. There was an engine noise and tires rustling on the rocky road behind her. She took a glance. Her soul filled with fear. She tried to ran much further until her ankles bleed. The endless sense of fatigue, pain and blood dripping from her feet could never compare to the thing she was running away from. More tragic, she feared she would never be able to reach him for the rest of her life.
The shackles finally broke free, and she ran as fast as she could. It was just at the tip of her finger when the car ran into her. She screamed awake.
It was Sunday morning. She was covered in her own sweat on her queen size bed. The first thing that came into her mind was that she need to clean herself up.
She went into the shower and prepped herself up for the day that was about to come. After putting on her black jeans and white t-shirt she stared at her messed up bed. Although it was only 7:30 in the morning she told herself that she doesn't have time to clean it up.
She grabbed her jacket and her leather sling bag then went straight to the door. Then she stopped mid-way checking if she have all the things she need in her wallet. She made sure all the locks were secured and finally pushed in the last key under the door knob. That was when she saw it.
A white envelope peeking through her "welcome" mat.
She pulled back her key and bend over to grab the envelope. There was no name written on it. Since the envelope was slide under her mat she assumed it was hers. So she opened the envelope.
There was a piece of note inside it which was written in an old signature manner. Then she noticed a tear drop fell on the note.
Next thing she knew her feet started running. The elevator was running late so she went to the emergency stairs instead. It was only 4 floors away and she was practically jumping from every flight of stairs. After she pushed the door wide open she started searching between left and right for her next clue.
She remembered the city park was 3 blocks away on her left and she started running again. As she reached the city park she started searching again. She went straight to that park bench when they first met. Just as she was hoping for, he was there. His green-emerald eyes was looking straight into her brown eyes.
It was as if time had slowed down.
She waited for this moment for 8 years. To finally be able to hold him again knowing that he'll love her back.
She was walking slowly towards him. She was taking in every details of that moment carefully. He tied his jacket around his waist over his jeans. Wearing the green washed out shirt he always wear when he was working in the farm for his grandfather. He grew taller since the last time they were separated. Much taller that as she came closer to him she had to raise her chin to look into his eyes.
He reached out his hand and she did to. When their finger tips touched tears were running from both her and his eyes. He pulled her in closer. She held his face with her other hand detailing every inch of his face.
There was a lot things they wanted to say to each other. A lot of questions running in their minds since they last met, but no words came out from their lips as they still couldn't believe that they were finally in each other's arms.
Then finally he kissed her forehead. As she shut her eyes tears ran down her face, and for the first time she felt it again. Finally she noticed her heart beat. Finally she felt as if her body starts to live again as blood starts running through all her veins.
She is alive, and he is too.
As he pulled away they looked in each other's eyes when he utters the word,
"I'm sorry it took a long time for me to remember us. When you left, I knew something doesn't feel right. So I went back to that spot up the apple farm hill. It was dark, and as I looked up into the sky I remembered holding your arms," he said as tears running down his eyes.
"I remembered you. Then the next thing I knew I was down on both of my knees, and there was a sudden pain in my heart. I actually thought I was having a heart attack," he let out a laugh as he mentioned this. Then he recollected his expression and said the words that she was waiting for since they met 4 months ago.
"But that wasn't it. It was because I remembered that I love you," they both held a huge smile across their face with tears still running down their faces.
Then he said it again, "and I still do. I still love you,"
It was the happiest day of her life. Now she finally get to say the words she has been holding back when she thought she had lost him forever,
"and I have always love you. As much as I tried to let you go, I always love you. I still love you too,"

He leaned in to touch her lips with his. It was like as if they finally get to breath again. In that moment of long lost embrace it was as if the long nightmare has finally ended.
From that moment on a new future awaits for them.
A future where they will never be apart again.
