SideBlaster bug fixes
Just spent yesterday updating my old SideBlaster game because I submitted it to my university's game showcase. Fixed a bunch of controller issues since the original web version just assumed people used mouse and keyboard.
A few of the bugs would really get in the way of people being able to play it. So I went back, found my old stashed source code (good thing I saved those!) and fixed a few of the more glaring bugs. This update is focused on gamepad support. Also, I've released the full source code on my github (link in the changelog). It is solely to aid in helping others learn Godot, so please don't reupload the game anywhere else. At the very least, please credit me if you use any scripts from the project.
The full list of fixes and changes can be found here on my itch.io.

After some minor fix-ups, my team game design final is now playable on itch! It's a casual game featuring cute cats visiting your cat cafe! You can play it in browser, but we also have a build for most platforms. I learned a lot about making games in a team instead of just myself, and learning the ins and outs of Unity to boot! Was definitely fun to make, even if we weren't able to get everything we wanted to due juggling our school workloads while making it.

Introducing our final demo character: Walt!
Tumblr media
Today's character...isn't an officer at all?! Walt visits the station so often he's an honorary member. He and Johnny often get along because Walt brings the fun and most importantly the DONUTS! While interrobots can't eat, he'll still help you with your investigations in our new visual novel VIOLA!

Hey everyone! I've made a more casual sideblog for casual posting. That way this blog will only showcase my work, while the casual stuff can be over there. Check it out here.
My new sideblog
This is going to be my personal sideblog, for posting memes, out of context development, and generally casual posting. I’ve already reblogged all my posts from my main development blog where I’ll just post completed works.

Packaged
It’s been a whole year since I started making games as a hobby, and I’m proud to say that this year I helped host the same local game jam I participated in for my first game The Right Way. Still, I couldn’t resist making another game, so me and JSAniken teamed up again to make another entry! This year’s theme was “Home”, so we made a game about packing up your things and deciding what to keep and throw away while you move. Play “Packaged” online here!

SideBreaker
Ahoy again everyone! Over the course of June I experimented with a couple of new game engines. One that I really enjoyed was the godot game engine. So I decided to try my hand at using it for my submission for GeoJam 2022: SideBreaker! Play it in your browser here:
This game was made in 72 hours for GeoJam 2022, with the theme "Pick a Side". I'm pleased with the result, earning #121 overall out of 260 submissions. For a first game in a new engine, ending up above average is great! If you want my post-jam thoughts on the game, check out the post-jam postmortem.

This is my bigger Blender animation I worked on. While I modeled and animated almost everything, I want to credit:
reddit user Ojinavi for the wallpaper texture.
Nathan Vegdahl for the shakify Blender add-on to auto-animate camera shaking.

Welcome to white space.
This is my first foray into blender. Made a basic scene of Omori chilling in White Space. While I modeled everything in the scene, I do want to credit Omori’s sprite itself to this tweet from Omocat.
