Just look at Stovin, for example, s3 they introduce Robin and Steve falls for her but finds out she's a lesbian. S4 we have the introduction of Vickie as Robin's actual love interest. Like come on!!!

even if they gave will the most perfect, loving, sweet boyfriend in season 5 (adding a random new guy would be so rushed and ridiculous for the record), it would not change the fact that they made will have unrequited love for mike JUST to use him as a plot device to force a straight ship back together, which is absolutely horrible and insulting. using a traumatised gay character’s pain for a STRAIGHT SHIP will never, ever be okay, and trying to shove a last minute love interest in for him to “make up for it” will NOT change what they did or make it any better.

it’ll be horrendous writing if byler doesn’t happen and m*leven stay together. this isn’t just some tiny thing. will’s love for mike would’ve been written just for shock value and to be taken advantage of.

the writers chose to impact a very close friendship, in fact, the closest best friends on the entire show, just to make one of them in love with the other so he can painfully sacrifice his own feelings for him and push him back to his girlfriend. this will also make the “it’s not my fault you don’t like girls” scene SO much worse and more hurtful, especially considering mike KNOWS will experienced homophobia and was called homophobic slurs his whole life. this kid has been abused by his own father and school bullies for being gay. everyone in society made him feel like a mistake, except for mike, his best friend (and first ever friend) and the first person he fell in love with. mike is his safe place and home and the only person that has made him feel BETTER for being different. will literally said that he will ALWAYS need him.

and yet we have to watch him suffer as he sacrifices his own feelings for him and thinks his love is unrequited?

and we have to watch mike be MISLED and confess to el only because of lies/a misunderstanding when his monologue for her was actually a direct response to WILL’S MONOLOGUE FOR HIM?

do they seriously expect people to just be stupid enough to accept this?????

sorry if i'm gonna be quiet for a while. my country recently introduced laws that make it so that in order to use social media to the fullest (not being able to view ns/fw content and in a few cases, not even having access to dms), i HAVE to give the sites my id/face scan.
