i don’t listen to that sorta music but i gave it a go!! watching the music video, i felt like i went into a limbo. the song felt like a resigned lament and beautifully spoke to me because i experience really bad existential crises and dread... hahaha… ✌️

BROOKLYN MULDER AND PORTIA SCULLY 💥

i wanna talk more about the plot of “Aliens of Crescentville” since we’re here!! if you want a brief introduction, you can do so here.

(passion project rambling under cut!!)

the story focuses a lot on nicholas and lou evading the government’s pursuits, all while holding onto their place in crescentville’s close-knit community. they eventually uncover tucked away secrets (about their origins and stuff) but that’s for another time!

brooklyn is an FBI agent and the active antagonist in the story, pursuing the two siblings (the agency used to be called the GIB but i felt like with the introduction of the CIA, i had to come up with another name which lost that FBI-CIA dynamic.) the children are wanted because they’re humans in an alien planet which makes them foreign (if that wasn’t obvious!!)

this affair was initially only dealt with the FBI because it was a domestic issue. however, the CIA intervened and appointed some of their agents to provide intelligence service. there’s tension between the two agencies but they reluctantly try to cooperate for the “greater good” of the country.

portia is one of those CIA agents! she underwent extensive and rigorous training, so you can imagine she’s exceptionally adept. as much as i love brooklyn, he pales in comparison to her physical, technical, and analytical skills. the two of them don’t get along well at first, but they eventually become an iconic duo!!

their names are an x-files reference hehe i need to finish that show…

p.s. crescentville is a small town in “the great land of edelia” (informally, “land of edelia” or simply “edelia”). it is one of the biggest (and influential) countries in aleoiza. i might change a bit of the naming!!

this ask intrigued me so much that i looked her up and listened to some of her songs. she’s so ethereal and entrancing WOAH every single line is packed with meaning and she conveys such a heartfelt yet devastating emotion with her music. but i don’t like crying so i probably won’t be religiously listening to them,,
