Bobby gets kidnapped and held for ransom by some random thugs and Huntr/x are like "I think the fuck not" and show up to where he's being held captive and proceed to absolutely wreck shop to get him back because that's their manager and you don't fuck with him.

Damn Noir really hit the ground running with his traumatic backstory this campaign. At least VR-LA and Oobtaglor let me get to know them before emotionally devastating me. Kireek came out the gate swinging.

I do think that if Rumi had been in a better headspace or been given a second to think she would have been able to figure out that the Mira and Zoey she was performing with were fakes.
But between the stress of everything she'd been dealing with for the past few weeks and the fakes not giving her a moment to breath, keeping her off balance both figuratively and literally, there was no chance of her putting the pieces together, and by the time she does realize, its too late.
Do you think she talks about the fakes with Mira and Zoey? Do you think she sometimes has trouble trusting them because of it? She knows they're real, but something in the back of her mind keeps whispering that it's all an illusion, that they're lying to her, that they hate her.

My feelings on canon Endeavor aside, I am a sucker for any "good parent Enji Todoroki" AU where he's just the biggest Rei simp to ever live.
I'm talking holds every door for her, places his coat over puddles for her, will take any opportunity to compliment her, worships the very ground she walks on levels of simp.
It's what she deserves.

I do find it really funny that the movie never once states or even implies that demons have the ability to purr and yet some random person on the internet was like "what if Rumi could purr" and the entire fandom went

Endeavor fans repeat that "he's not seeking redemption he's seeking atonement" line so fucking much like it somehow absolves his arc of criticism.
They act like anyone who critizes his arc will just completely change their mind if they kNeW WhaT hiS aRc WAs rEaLLy ABouT like knowing it's about atonement and not redemption somehow erases all the flaws with his arc.
Like "Ah yes now that I see his arc was about atonement and not redemption (two incredibly similar concepts) I understand that all of my well thought out critiques were wrong. It is actually a flawless arc with no problems whatsoever" as if that's how criticism works.

You know, in hindsight, "fit check for my napalm era" is a genuinely crazy line. Like actually unhinged.

I think the bigger issue with Hawks killing Twice isn't that he did it (even though that is a major issue), it's how he did it.
Twice finds Hawks during the war and is like "hey, we gotta go help our friends. Lets go" and Hawks responds to this like "actually, dumbass, I'm not your friend. I've been lying to you and the League this entire time, and you're an idiot for not realizing it" and when Twice has the (completely understandable) reaction of becoming extremely mad and trying to fight, Hawks immediately switches his tune and is all like "actually you should just surrender so I can take you away from the people you call family and throw you in a locked box while I and the heroes take care of them. Don't worry, no one will get hurt, you can trust me" he says, completely sincerely while holding two goddamn swords.
And to add insult to injury, when Twice is running away, not using his quirk, not fighting back, just running away, Hawks kills him by stabbing him in the back.
And after all of this, Hawks has the gall and unmitigated nerve to look conflicted about the whole thing, like he feels even slightly bad about killing Twice, which would have been a really nice sentiment to have before you killed the guy in cold blood or if you actually took this conflicted feeling and did anything with it. But no, it just gets swept under the rug like every other problem the villains try to call attention to.
I need a break.

Imma get my ass beat for this but Bakugo crashing out seeing the kid he bullied for the last 10 years specifically for being quirkless show up to the best hero school in the country WITH A QUIRK was completely justified.
Litteraly the only possible explanation in Bakugo's head for how Midoriya could have a quirk is that he's been lying about it for 10 years straight. A lie he would have started when he was FOUR FUCKING YEARS OLD! Yeah at that point you'd be mad too because why the fuck would someone even do that? What possible gain could there be to lying about that? And then he has the gall to tell you that he was actually given this new quirk by someone else, something your positive is also a lie because that's just not fucking possible. So now your pretty sure he's been lying to you your entire lives, and when you confronted him about it, he told you another fucking lie.
Yeah at that point I'd start trying to figure out how he's been lying about this shit for 10 years straight or just start believing he's a masochist because what other possible reason would he have to let someone bully him for that long.

Crazy that Himiko was safer from creeps while hiding out in a run-down warehouse with a bunch of villains than the 1-A girls were while surrounded by pro-heroes at the best hero school in the country.

Finally got around to watching K-Pop Demon Hunters and damn that shit was good. Great music, fantastic animation, interesting story, fun worldbuilding, its got it all.
Also Polytrix is great and is slowly pulling me back into the Sashannarcy obsession I had a couple years ago and I am not complaining.
I will definitely be talking about this movie more once I get my thoughts in order but for now I'll say that if you haven't watched it please do. It's genuinely amazing.

The TikTok side of the MHA fandom is full of some of the most braindead people I've ever had the displeasure of interacting with on this godforsaken internet.
I have a lot of criticisms of MHA, and almost all of them are about how the FICTIONAL story was written. But every single time I voice these critisms on TikTok, I will inevitably have people who defend this FICTIONAL story as if it was a real thing that actually happened.
As an example:
Why are Yaoyorozu's and Hagakure's hero costumes like that? They should have costumes that work with their powers or just powers that work differently.
"Oh well the support department couldn't make costumes that work with their powers."
Their powers are fictional. Any explanation could have been given for how a costume works with their powers.
"How would the costume designers use her hair to make a costume if they can't see it?"
Her powers don't need to work like that. Horikoshi made them work like that.
"But they wanted their costumes to look like that, and they never asked for a new costume, so clearly they're ok with it."
These are fictional characters. They don't WANT anything. If they say they want something, it's because the author wrote them to want that thing.
This is a smaller example but also one that's a lot easier to explain than most of the other ones. I feel like a lot of MHA fans are physically incapable of viewing it as a fictional work created by an author.

List of a few Arcane songs and some MHA characters (and other things) I think fit them.
I had a plan when I made this list several months ago, but since I never did anything with it, I guess I'll just post it here. Also this is just my opinion and if you have something different I'd love to hear it. Also also there is no order to this list.
With all that out of the way, let's begin this way too long post.
Dynasties and Dystopia by Denzel Curry, Gizzle, and Bren Joy or Renegade by Raja Kumari, Stefflon Don, Jarina De Marco: Mirko AKA Rumi Usagiyama
Starting off with something simple. This does work as just a simple hypesong, but I do think at least a bit of the lyrics work for Mirko, at least for Dynasties and Dystopia. IDK I listened to the soundtrack and thought "damn that sounds like a Mirko song," and here we are.
Snakes by MIYAVI and PVRIS: Hawks AKA Keigo Takami
This one works really well if you imagine it as the League or even just Twice or Dabi singing it to Hawks. Also yes haha hawks and snakes, but seriously, this song works perfectly for his betrayal of the League.
Remember Me by d4vd: Kurogiri AKA Oboro Shirakumo
Ok, but actually, Oboro and Vander have remarkably similar arcs if you squint, and this song is the culmination of all of that. It works so well.
Heavy Is The Crown by Mike Shinoda and Emily Armstrong: Endeavor AKA Enji Todoroki
I picture this as the song that plays as he assumes the position of Number 1 hero, and then it hard cuts to the fight against the High End Nomu. Like this is what he asked for. Is he strong enough to handle it?
Wasteland by Royal & the Serpant: Himiko Toga
I know I said at the top that this list is just my opinion, but I'm actually completely right about this one. This is Himiko at the very end, watching as her blood flows from her body into Ochako's and listening for her heartbeat, hoping that she'll be able to do at least one thing right before her final breath. Is she ready to face it? Is she ready to say goodbye?
Hellfire by FEVER 333: Great Explosion Murder God Dynamight
Yeah, it's another hypesong, but also, just listen to the lyrics and tell me that ain't Dynamight. Also, you might have noticed that I only said Dynamight and not Bakugo and that's because
I Can't Hear It Now by Freya Ridings: Katsuki Bakugo
If you strip all the boasting and arrogance from Dynamight, you're left with Katuski, a boy full of doubt and insecurity who still wants to catch up to someone he should have never been behind. I picture this song specifically over the scene of Bakugo's fight with Shigaraki during the final war. He's not Dynamight. He's not Bakugo. Right now, he's Kacchan, a scared boy hoping to make things right with one final act for Izuku.
The Line by Twenty One Pilots: Dabi AKA Touya Todoroki
I struggled for a while about whether this was Dabi's or Bakugo's song but eventually decided on Dabi after relistening to both it and what I eventually gave to Bakugo. And honestly, I'm so glad I did. The Line perfectly encapsulates Dabi's entire story. I'm not as well versed in Dabi's character as I am, so I can't really explain it too well, but please go listen to it, and you'll see what I mean.
To Ashes and Blood by Woodkid: The Symbol of Destruction AKA Tomura Shigaraki AND All For One
This one is a bit weird, but I think this song encapsulates the power of Final War Shigaraki. He isn't human anymore. He's a monster, and this song coveys that almost horror vibe he gives off throughout the arc, especially when he's possessed by the self-proclaimed Demon Lord known as All For One. I know I say this a lot, but please just listen to the song with this mindset, and you'll see it.
What Could Have Been by Sting and Ray Chen: Tenko Shimura
And yet beneath all of that power is a boy who never got to grow up. Whose life was stolen from him by a man whose only goal was petty revenge. A broken kid who genuinely believed he was loved by a man incapable of even showing kindness. A tragedy that was always going to happen, and yet could have been stopped at any point if only someone had done something sooner. A child who only wanted to belong.
Guns for Hire by Woodkid: The Paranormal Liberation War Arc
I said this list wouldn't include just characters, and here we are. To me, this song is a really good "event horizon" song. It signifies the moment when the story can't turn around. Whatever dominoes started to fall can't be stopped now. You can't go back. The consequences of the decisions you've made have finally appeared, and now there is nothing that can be done to undo them.
Ma Meilleure Ennemie by Stromae and Pomme: BakuDeku, Togachako, and, to an extent, DabiHawks
I'm not explaining this one. If you get it, you get it. If you don't, too bad.
Spin The Wheel: The final chapters
Look, I have made it pretty clear that I'm not a big fan of the ending of MHA. But also, I can not deny the vibe this song has as a perfect epilogue song. So yes, for the moment, this song works for what Horikoshi was trying to do with that ending.
Fantastic by King Princess: Chapter 38 of I'll See Your Heart And I'll Raise You Mine by @firesign-18
😏 iykyk
This list took way too long to put together, and I'm pretty sure I didn't even use half the songs from the playlist. If you've got any ideas, don't hesitate to reblog this so we can make this list longer. Also, I really hope all these links work or all that work was for nothing. Anyway, peace.✌️

One discussion I find absolutely fascinating is the difference between the question "what class would this character BE in D&D?" and the question "what class would this character PLAY in D&D?"
The first question is about writing. It looks at these characters as roles in a story and seeks to assign each of these roles a class in the D&D system.
The second question is about personality. It looks at these characters as people in a world and seeks to know how those people would play a game of D&D.

Finally finished Campaign 2 of Rolling with Difficulty and ooh boy, that final conversation between the PCs was a lot. I don't think it got me as much as some of the stuff from Campaign 1, but it was still amazing, and I'm looking forward to Campaign 3. Also, if Noir could stop playing characters that manage to unexpectedly emotionally devastate me, that would be great.
