Ok I want to say something controversial
But you are responsible for your own safe spaces. You can block tags, block words, block people.
“But i thought fandom was supposed to be a safe space” —yeah you have to curate it.
Unfortunately one persons’s safe space may be another persons’ trigger. That’s ok. Simply block them, block the tag, block the word etc. They can do the same for you.
Maybe I’m just out of touch, but I’ve been around since the days of “don’t like, don’t read” and that’s a good philosophy. If it squicks you, scroll past. If it causes you anxiety or upset, block! Plenty of people are responsive if you ask them to tag an upsetting trigger. And if they’re dicks about it, block em.

Our theme is “responsibility” at my school right now, and many students have made posters. This one is my favorite:

Michigan Democrats have had a truly incredible afternoon: they've ended the state's anti-union "right to work" law, repealed an abortion ban from 1931, enacted universal background checks on gun sales, and passed an LGBTQ anti-discrimination law. All in the last 24 hours

The Outbursts of Everett True was a comic strip that ran in papers from 1905 to 1927, wherein the aforementioned Everett True regularly beat the everliving shit out of rude people as a warning to anyone else who might consider being rude. Men have not only been taking up too much room on public transport for about as long as public transport has existed, but the people around them have been irritated about it for at least a hundred years. The next time someone tries to claim that manspreading is a false phenomenon, please direct them to this strip so that Everett True can correct their misconceptions with an umbrella upside the head.

People make no sense.
I'm married and over the course of the last four years my husband has become increasingly anti woman. Which whatever because I see myself as non-binary/gender fluid. I don't like it because people shouldn't be hateful to someone else.
It hurts because I have a daughter and I hate that she may hear him be this way. I try to tell her as often as I can that how he talks about women and his opinions are flawed and that she's a beautiful person and a good person, and that women as a whole aren't bad people just because her dad has these feelings.
Cue to yesterday morning when one of my co workers stated that me and another co worker are "brothers". My whole life I get the greatest burst of euphoria when I'm seen as a man. My dad calls me Al, as a kid I hated dresses, I hung out at the frat house in college and was never objectified because I genuinely was 'one of the guys'. I tell my husband (who is bi/pan) after another sexist rant that 'hey I feel really good when I'm seen as a man' implying that I'm here and I may look female but you're safe if thats what you need.
"Oh, ok, sure." Was the answer I got.
Here I am the next day crying in bed because I don't know what he wants from me. He says I'm cold or don't console him when he's depressed and that I give him lazy answers to his problems (he said he's been thinking about killing himself and I told him that if he feels that way we can get him help through inpatient care or get him to the dr. To adjust his meds. Hugs and kisses can only do so much if he's feeling that bad).
I hate it, I just never feel good enough. I just want to be happy in my own skin. I just want my husband to be happy but it feels like there's nothing I can do to make that happen.

These two would have been enthusiastic to accept a Tyler Galpin/Hyde in the family… don’t forget, as they said, the Addams family danced the Mamushka for Jack the Ripper XD

Omg I wrote a fic that hints at Tyler having an on the run arc with Fester Addams of all people!!!
This post is big YES.
Tumblr media
Okay, hear me out y’all
How about instead of simply capturing Tyler and sending him away? He has an On the Run arc for season two. With this, I think it can show more of Tyler’s character. To show the real Tyler is without a master for him to obey, to get a better understanding of his character. (And to show the psychology of Hydes, getting more depth in their history and even coming across some Hydes.)
Tyler has always struck me as a person who wants absolute freedom, he longs for an escape. One of his famous lines is “Because I wish I was going with you. At least one of us will get out of this hellhole town.” So him getting an On the Run arc will make sense.
Him getting into hijinks would be great and we can even have one-off characters who serve as guidance to Tyler while trying to help him by asking questions such as “What are you looking for?” Or “Where are you going?” Questions that the audience and Tyler are wondering ourselves.
A On the Run arc could be literal and figuratively. Him running away from everything that happened, not wanting to face the legal consequences in Jerchio, and figuratively running away from his feelings, not ready to face them or scared to face them.
If someone asks about his complicated relationship with his father and Tyler admitting that he kinda misses him.
Then about Wednesday, who he knows he hurt very badly and thinks she is better off not seeing him again. Not wanting to hurt her again.
And coming to terms with that Marilyn Thornhill | Laurel Gates never cared for him and was only using him.
Basically, Tyler realizing that he needs help and wants people to help him.

I would see that as a reference to Joseph Crackstone's glorified history perpetuated by the citizens of Jericho and the dark truth hidden from the masses, indicating the possibility of his return to finish what he started in his quest to destroy the outcasts.
Or it could relate to Goody Addams obsession with revenge, which could be whitewashed to outcasts to make her a historical hero.
Tumblr media
Time to share our fears about s2. I’ll go first: when Tyler is asking Wednesday a non-birthday dinner she uses the excuse of term paper Emphasis on Dead and she explains the meaning, how whitewashing sin from the past will kill us all.
Now…knowing how the writers used a lot of analogies to describe Tyler -as the crazy coffee machine which I love btw- is it possible that they are suggesting Tyler’s fate here?
Who will be killed trying to redeem himself?I am telling you, they already killed almost all my favourite characters from all my favourite Tv-series so I should be prepared … but I would find it very unfair, very very unfair considering the past of the character and his potential to become a decent man.
Waiting for your opinions and fears - we are now having this discussion in subreddit r/weyler on reddit
