Wishing all Chinese friends a Happy Winter Solstice. 🔴Fun Facts: For the Chinese, this is the day where we have a mini reunion meal together and eat dumplings. 🔷For the northern Chinese, they'll eat the Cresent shaped Dumplings (filled with meat, vegetables, etc. ) 🔷For the Southern Chinese, they'll eat Rice Dumplings (small round ball with filings such as peanuts, red bean, etc. ) 🔴Did you know: The winter solstice (or hibernal solstice), also known as the midwinter, occurs when one of the Earth's poles has its maximum tilt away from the Sun. It happens twice yearly, once in each hemisphere (Northern and Southern). For that hemisphere, the winter solstice is the day with the shortest period of daylight and longest night of the year, when the sun is at its lowest daily maximum elevation in the sky. At the pole, there is continuous darkness or twilight around the winter solstice. The Luau Night Begins! HP Alumni Gala Dinner is the biggest event of the year. For this year, our Director Ms Nica FOO (an ex-HP employee) was asked by the President of HP Alumni to take on the additional role of the Emcee for their big night. Currently, Ms Nica sits on the HP Alumni as their committee member. This year theme was Hawaiian Night and all HP Alumni came with their best Hawaiian outfits! Raffles Institution (RI), founded in 1823, is the oldest school in Singapore for pre-tertiary education. Cold Brew Coffee and Berry Royal Pudding for afternoon tea. Got my order served wrongly. A weird combination but that's life! Sometimes, you get assignment that makes no sense to you initially as the big picture lies in the hand of top management people. You ask questions and you seek clarity but you get none. What would you do? How would you have reacted? Procrastinate till you get the clarity you need or Dive in and do your best, adjust your strategy along the way? We are living in a world where nothing makes sense and common sense is not common anymore. The ability to Adapt and be Agile are skills at the forefront of this new age world.
