is it just me or did they make gabe better than he was in the books???? like- i just finished the 1st ep & my man was not even close to the vile abomination that I envisioned as Smelly Gabe. Sally argued with him?? He barely was awful to Percy?? He even looked like he had showered vaguely within the last week? This was an abusive, repulsive man who was so vile & disgusting his smell followed Percy to the point where thousand year old killing machines could not identify him as a demigod.

He was so evil that when Percy made a symbol of protection my man FLEW. A HUMAN. This is a protection against monsters!! The actual personification of all that makes humanity bad. You support & cheer when they kill him. Percy references physical, mental and emotional abuse multiple times. Was Disney going to include all that? No but-

TV Gabe?? A rude, abusive (and controlling which we see when he takes sally's phone) asshole, but would I kill him?? Injuries & trauma sure but compared to the books... Abusive absolutely- like I'm not saying he's not abusive (he is) but I feel in the books that was more so represented & shown.

Maybe in the next few episodes we'll see him being worse but tbh idk how they're going to bring him into the plot again???? He's on TV being rude and that's the end of his arc pretty much. Beginning of book 1 is where we see him mostly (although Percy does think about him a bit)

anyways that's my major complaint so far about it. thank you disney & riordan for not giving us an abominable like the movies

medoran chronicles thoughts bc idk..🕺🏽

•Hunter is one of the best characters in the whole series I wish we saw more of him and (I KNOW I’m not the only one thinking this)…he was def hot I mean Alex basically said it herself in akarnae (she acknowledged that he was handsome)

•whoever wrote that Hunter/Alex smUt fanfic on Ao3…I’ll never forgive you. Scarred. I got ptsd from that.

• Jordan should’ve said motherf*cker in We Three Heroes (I’m pretty sure that’s what he was going to say) while hunting for hyroas

• Though this fandom is pretty small (it’s growing) it’s one of the best ones I’ve been apart of as there are no arguments about who should’ve ended up with who and it’s just rly chill and nice

• the medoran chronicles will always be my favourite book series. I was pretty young when I started reading the books so I kinda grew up with them. It introduced me to the world of YA fantasy. Reading the books just makes me so happy and medora is 100% my comfort place

• For those who have read both Acotar and the medoran chronicles…what race of immortals would you say is more powerful: Acotar faeries or meyarins?

• I never got to read the novella (a very medoran kaldoras) and I’m praising god that I didn’t cuz the stress I see the rest of the fandom going through due to whatever crazy ending is not something I could handle.

• In my head, I see Alex with middle eastern and central Asian features (am I the only one?)

• I really wish we could’ve seen more into the teachers lives outside of Akarnae (especially the headmaster, karter, and Caspar Lennox)

• I would love to read a maturer version of the medoran chronicles (not disrespecting the original in any way I just think a version with more mature topics and more detail would be so cool since the main characters are teenagers who should be going thru all those teenagery journeys yk)

East Asian fanartists are starting to migrate back to Tumblr because Twitter is insane, toxic, and dying, and what we're NOT going to do is let the fucking exclusionists get them, do you hear me? We are not going to let a bunch of feral idiots try to apply the most myopic version of puritanism to foreign artists we're not we're not we're not. Form an armed brigade if you have to, do you hear me. We're not going to bully the artists who may or may not even speak English because we have our precious standards of moral purity. If we see art that makes us uncomfy we're going to block the artist and tumblr savior their name so we don't have to see them again AND WE'RE GONNA MOVE THE FUCK ON.

Here’s a “life-hack” for you. Apparently concentrated Kool-Aid can be used as a pretty effective leather dye. I was making a drink while cutting the snaps off some new straps for my pauldrons and I got curious, so I tried it, thinking, “ok even if this works, it will just wash out.” Nope. It took the “dye” (undiluted) in about 3 seconds. After drying for about an hour and a half, it would not wash off in the hottest tap-water. It would not wash out after soaking for 30 minutes. It did not wash out until I BOILED it, and even then, only by a tiny bit and it gave it a weathered look that was kind of cool. Add some waterproofing and I’d wager it would survive even that. That rich red is only one application too. Plus it smells great, lol. So there you go, cheap, fruity smelling leather dye in all the colors Kool-Aid has to offer.

A concise description of Goncharov, for anyone as confused as I was when I first awoke.

There are as of now 19 AO3 fics in the Goncharov (1973) fandom... when I checked a couple hours ago, there were only five.

Goncharov Lore Thus Far, based on the top tumblr post results

Main cast are Goncharov himself, his wife Katya (née Michailov), and Andrey 

One side character is named Mario Ambrosini. He is described as a “sad boi” and is involved in gambling. 

Set in Naples and involving a drug ring/mafia. The plot seems to involve Russian organized crime attempting to get a foothold in Italy. 

There is a Boat Scene. Katya survives via resourcefulness. 

Andrey and Goncharov have a substantial amount of homoeroticism. Andrey also has an internet in Katya. This forms a true love triangle. 

At some point, Katya threatens to shoot Goncharov. This is framed as a Girlboss Moment. 

There is also a Beer Bottle Scene. 

Katya fakes her death.

Okay I need help finding a fic. From the Witcher (TV?) fandom - it’s inspired by the book Spinning Silver.

Jaskier sings his sister back from the dead, and his parents brag about it. A Staryk Noble hears this and is offended by the notion of a child being more powerful - he challenges Jaskier to heal/ being back 3 people in 3 days. Jaskier does it and is taken away to the winter kingdom fae place (idk what they called it).

He learns about the rules and customs of the places, etc, etc. Finds a (kind of?) father and family. He bargains his way out of there to see his sister, but having no real magic of his own, can’t get back to the fae place (bye bye fae dad). However he realises it’s been like 100 years and his family is dead. It’s very sad.

Fast forward-

Gerald, Jaskier, Yen and Citi are running from Nilfgaard and, in his desperation, Jaskier opens a portal-thing (road?) to the winter kingdom far place. Reunion with fae dad etc etc. ends up with Geralt/Jaskier and maybe Yen?

That’s all I remember- hope somebody knows!!!

EDIT: SOMEONE FOUND IT!! Spinning Silver by Fledgling Queen. There’s more I didn’t touch in - Baba Yaga, time changes etc but it’s amazing. Thanks @river-bottom-nightmare

i’m replying to a lot of ao3 comments for the first time in my life, so my brain conjured this meme
