I've been listening to "Jolene" by Dolly Parton and a bunch of covers, you know - as one does...

And then I saw vashwood cowboy art and my brain chemistry was altered.

Vash had been traveling for a while and when he stumbles upon Wolfwood again in a village, he's overjoyed. Ww is the one indulgence he allows himself. Si he stops and stays where Ww is, just so he cand memories the arm that holds him while he's drunk. Just long enough to stain all his cloths with the smell of nicotine. Just to have something to hold him sane... But watching him interact with one of the widows makes something shameful and ugly stir in his gut.

One night, while in his habit of getting drunk, Vash stops recognizing who he's talking to, as his usual joyful attitude morphs into a mopping mess. Eventually, Wolfwood has to collect him from off the floor or whatever surface he's landed on. He isn't sure if Vash is sad for a real reason or if it's just the alcohol. But he decides to ask and Vash looks at him with wide eyes. He starts begging "don't take him even though you can", "you can have your choice of men, but I will never love again", and it doesn't take long for Ww to realize he's not the one these please are directed to, but who was he begging for? Who did he think was being taken away from him? Curiosity overwhelmed him and he had to ask, but all he got was "he's all I've got" 's and "I'm begging of you" 's followed by vomit on his shoes.

So he carried Vash to their room, washed him and laid him down.

When Vash woke up, he was met with a splitting headache and the arms of the man he feared to lose.

An AU where Cora took Baby 5 and Law

I would lie if I say that it didn't cross my mind when I was watching Law's backstory...

Cora had bitten off more than he could chew. He knew that much. But he couldn't let Law die, so young, TOO young to die because of a disease. When he was taking off, the thought of leaving Baby5 as well made him doubt it would be a good idea. The more he pondered, the more he convinced himself he should take her as well. She was the same age as Law after all.

During their search for the cure, Baby 5 was surprisingly accepting of the conditions and constant traveling, she beamed at every praise which made her easier to manage than Law, but also made her too gullible to leave on her own.

(I imagine the whole thing with Cora's death and the fruit went as it did in canon)

Baby 5 becomes Law's first mate (sorry bepo :'( it just makes sense), she got along with the crew great. She babied Bepo a bit too much, she joins Penguin and Hachi when they engage in shenanigans and dare I say swooning over (both men and) women. Whether because of hurd mentality or her genuinely liking women, no one knows

I think though, and you can fight me on this, she would be less eager to please, since i believe doffy groomed her into being this insecure woman who only sees life worth living off some can use her...

FEM SHUGGY IS ROTTING MY BRAIN AGAIN

I think fem Buggy and Shanks would still have this on and off vibe going on, but they'd be more passionate and extreme. One night Buggy will be grabbing at the sheets and Shanks's hair, screaming her name with love. And two days later, she'll be attacking her ship, screaming her name with anger.

Their crews, at first, freaked out and didn't know what to do. Because Buggy's crew genuinely thought they'd die by the hand of a yonko. And Shanks's crew was extremely confused that Shanks didn't let them attack back and only told them to get as close as possible. But then they got close enough to be face to face and it's even more odd. Buggy keeps trying to stab or slice Shanks, who in return keeps dodging with that dumb smile on her face. But then they see the lipstick they're wearing is the same and the crews start putting things together. Eventually Buggy messes up and to stop her from stabbing herself, Shanks moves to protect her, getting hurt instead. Buggy starts laughing manically but it quickly turns into crying and begging Shanks to stay alive (it's very obviously not fatal)

Shanks, as the dramatic woman she is, acts so so so hurt to get Buggy more worried about her. They end up making out on the deck, with the blood puddle under Shanks and everything. The crews wonder if they should help with the wound or leave them be, because it's extremely awkward for everyone. Until the end of the day they're like joined at the hip and disgustingly sweet to each other. But then Shanks wakes up to a note saying something like "Thanks for the gold broke ass bitch" with a kiss stain on it or something like that. And in the place of their treasures there's only a lipstick left, Buggy's ship nowhere to be seen. The crew wants to ask if they should find them and get it back but Shanks has this lovestruck expression and kisses the lipstick stain, treating the crumpled up paper like a love note.

Hey Mars, what bout this.... zoro and sanji wake up one fine morning among the sheets and soft sunshine and sanji climbs onto zoro to look into his eye... everything is heart clenchingly soft do u get my feels 🥲 ? Then he lovingly moves his hand to trace zoros scars and he chuckles softly in response holding sanji tighter by his waist.

Sanji, laying on Zoro's chest and tracing his scars with gentle fingers, a smile tugging at his lips. And maybe it doesn't look good that he's looking at the scars and smiling fondly, but he can't help it when it's proof of what they've gone through. When it's proof that there's nothing that can stop or separate them.

He finally decides that it's time to get up and make breakfast. Zoro traps him in his arms and refuses, muttering something about "just a little more", half asleep and Sanji can only struggle so much against something he also wants.

Shanks is drunk, mindlessly confessing all of this to Buggy, who freezes because the next words out of Shanks’s mouth are, “I can’t do this anymore, I can no longer love you as I have, and destroy myself in the process….ah but who am I kidding? It’s you. You’ve ruined me Bugs, I’d do anything for you and you’d probably think I was lying or..or I dunno insulting you when it’s nothing of the sort. I love you so much, it kills me sometimes.” And Buggy just stands there, staring at Shanks (who lets out a snore) in disbelief because he hadn’t ever considered that he could love Shanks in that way, as well as have him reciprocate those feelings. He didn’t think he was the kind of person someone could fall in love with, so he never allowed himself to hope for a second that that could ever happen to him.

in cheaper by the dozen, what if marine ford sorta happened? like ace got arrested by Akainu who was a dirty cop, and got badly beat up, so Whitebeard showed up and beat the shit out of Akainu? In the end no one is dead, but they end up with scars where the cannon versions had fatal wounds maybe? I just like angst okay.

Okay, yes. Here's how I see it

Ace had been considered a delinquent since he was young, he bounced through foster homes full of people who thought they could "fix him" but it didn't take much time for him to be deemed "a problem child". As soon as he was old enough, he was registered in the system with vandalism and petty theft. It was always penalized with fines and social services. Coincidentally the time that he spent in the social services made him grow a sense for the injustice with which the common folk were treated with and the corruption in the government. And also coincidentally, it was while helping, perhaps in illegal ways or not, that he had his reunion with he long presumedly dead brother - Sabo. It was awkward as they almost got caught red-handed and Sabo didn't recognize him at first, but after they avoided the authorities, Ace tried his damnedest to jog Sabo's memory and eventually it worked. That's how Ace started helping a nonprofit (and non-public) organism they called the revolutionary army from time to time.

He never did anything too big or grand, but while doing what he could, he was spotted by a police officer that hated him more than most - Akainu. He was afraid that the police officer would report him, as most would, but things turned for the worse when he was ambushed and almost killed by him while he was trying to find out what the revolutionary army knew and who was their leader. He never had justice in mind, he wanted to know if they were aware of the government's deeds that Akainu helped cover up. Ace was thankfully saved after Whitebeard (his adoptive father) and others from his family worried that he had gone radio silent - they spread out through the city in search of him. (Ace often disappeared for days sometimes weeks, but he never ignored his family if they were trying to get ahold of him, he would always send them pictures of how he somehow ended up in the desert, or in japan, or just a quick excited message about him meeting Luffy at a hotdog eating competition or something)

Akainu found out that Ace's family is searching for him, so he shot him, hoping he would die on the spot (he didn't). First to run there was Luffy, he tried to tackle him, fight thw gun off of him and he would have managed to hit him enough times to tackle him to the floor (having the advantage of the element of surprise), but Akainu grabbed a knife he had on him and slashed at his chest enough times to make Luffy get dizzy with the loss of blood and pass out. When Whitebeard found them, Akainu had forsaken both weapons and tried taking them back as to both defend himself and not leave evidence. But he was too slow and Whitebeard started mauling Akainu. He heard his son groaning in pain, realizing they weren't dead and his grief was too heavy to bear, letting the policeman run away in favour of calling an ambulance and mourning his sons who were barely holding on. None of them thought that any of them would survive, but they did.

Many lawsuits, lying witnesses and fake evidence later, it was ruled as self defense in favor of Ace, but there were other repercussions since he was a previously convicted man and had a record with the law (idk how the judicial system works well enough to say what it would be but pretend that I described it well enough ig)
