The game of luck where the house never wins! Each episode, we analyse a randomly-selected media property through an equally random lens. Whether you want media analysis to make more sense, less sense, or just get weirder, we're here to help.

literary analysis being posited as this boring grueling penance that only miserable people insist on is very dumb as an idea but its even more dumb to me, the guy who gets so excited about it that he has to clap and pound his fists against the ground and walk in circles at a dizzying speed unbeknownst to man

It's the grand finale! Join Duck and Dia as they compare and contrast two stories which have never, not even once, been compared before. What do the musical Dear Evan Hansen and the visual novel Zero Escape: 9 Hours 9 Persons 9 Doors have in common, and what sets them apart?
Surely it won't take two hours and a good cry to find out.
Please see the description for content warnings. What we did not warn you about is how many times we got characters' names wrong.

been stewing on an analytical approach to fiction which I call "is this book afraid of me?" and in order to answer this question you determine how hard the book is trying to make sure you don't come after the writer on twitter

Every episode of Analysis Roulette makes me want to read the things Dia and Duck discuss. It is the weirdest way to be introduced to media.
Even if you havent read/watched/ listened to the work they are discussing, having it analysed in this way is an EXPERIENCE.
Honestly this podcast is like no other and everyone needs to stop sleeping on it.
This episode is about The Chalet School, and Duck analyses it really well. Personally all I remember from my personal interaction with boarding school type fiction. Is reading Mallory towers and there being a new girl 👧 who had to brush her hair 100 times every night. But even if you have no interaction with the media. The first thing Duck And Dia do is explain what is going on.
Every episode is super accessible, enjoyable and just fun to listen to. Both of the hosts go on cute little tangents and are super based. 💞
I need someone to FAN-them over with this!
Go listen now!

This week, Duck and Dia take on a very simple question. Who is to blame for Lancelot?

We actually did not discuss Taylor Swift once in this video, because one of us forgot she existed. We did discuss gender, LARP, and the great man theory of theme park design!
