Today was the day I had my first child.
Nothing went right, it was wild.
This morning I thought, I had 'til next morn.
Today was the day my son was born.
Every NHS staff member was fab.
One man in a room, soon to be a dad.
Scared and alone while his love moans.
From his anxiety he is overthrown.
Two recovery nurses, happy to chat.
One dad...happy an' that.
Next thing he knows his baby is there.
Those lovely nurses, so kind and fair.
Mum was perfect, her power is loud.
There is no-one else, ever so proud.
The weather was dull and overtly mild.
Today was the day I had my first child.

Oz man
Oz man, oz man you hugged me when?
Big blubbery 'yes' man, drunk off ten
Walking down to Bondi, back in oz
Sunny days on the ounce, mind's a foz
Hairy, sweaty, Ausie fella
Do you keep your beers in the cellar?
Half a decade ago, when responsibilities were low
I read about you in science journals of long ago
Straight from Africa until the white man come
Imperial colonialist Pom man, what've they done?
Rolling hills of Australia you roamed carefree and tight
Rolling redcoats washed over you with destructive hate
Redcoats walking free, destroying all they see
Many generations without a hug, many never walking free
Oz man, oz man what have we become?
Years pass by, imperial damage never to be undone
Oz man oz man oz man, forgive me my ancestors
After all, they were a bunch of white, transgressive jesters

Mick Lynch hangs them out to dry
River Thames runs, river Thames try
Wash the filth out, discard their lie
Pick it right, picket to sigh
Mick Lynch drops them with a crack
River Thames runs, river falls back
Up sprout the fibres binding to the sack
Expunge the scum, lead the attack
River Tame running, defeated again
River Tame mild, back to them

A Note on Britain 2
Today in the kitchen I was pouring myself some Fanta orange. For fear of being rude and only pouring myself a drink, I asked out loud (but purposefully vaguely), "would anyone like a drink?". Thinking I had envoked a small victory by avoiding having to make two brews for pouring one Fanta. Neither, both being fixated on other things, had noticed me and thought I was asking for a brew. Both dejectedally accepted for fear of potentially having to make their own (and by virtue everyone else's) brew at some point in the not to distant future. Thus, I found myself even more dejected, just making them a brew.
The kicker. He's gone up for a shower and she's cooking tea. They're both sat there now cold and particularly un-drank. I made two brews I didn't want to make, just to avoid feeling rude pouring myself a Fanta, for two people who didn't particularly want a brew nor drank it.
Time to move out.

Today
A lady fainted on the telly today
While two wannabes feigned their way
Newsfeed pop-ups to discuss the event
News travels fast, without any intent
Make sure you react and have your say
That lady fainted on 'telly today

A note on Britain .
Studying for my theory after doing 2 years on my moped has left me to two conclusions
1. How on God's earth did I get about without having the faintest clue what was going on
2. How much do you really need to do your theory having gone about for 2 years just sort of following what cars in front of me were doing

I love that Americans saw the word 'neighbours' with 'neigh' being pronounced 'nay' and thought, "fuck it we'll get rid of the U"

Unedited #4 - for me in the future
Hi Harry,
Today was the hottest day in the UK. I'd like to say hi. I imagine the first time you bother to scroll through your past social media presence is when it's gotten really bad.
I hope that all our immediate family are safe, at least. It's funny but I almost wish the "Deniers" were right. That it was all a big conspiracy. The UK hit 40° today. I bet your children know this date. The final chance we all ignored. Harry there's literally people today saying they are glad the heat is so high. I bet you laugh at them now.
I'm sorry I didn't play more of a part in trying to prevent it. It may seem alien to you now but life was so comfortable for most of our early years. So we got used to that lifestyle, almost engorged by it. I think the early 2010s the world silently turned to shit. At present this feels contradictory to say 'silent' but no matter how much media coverage there has been, how many arguments online about topical issues, actual terrible terrible events have occurred among mankind - we just carried on. Carried on as everything is normal. Numb to the true and present issues the world was facing. Maybe this is more relevant to English, acting as if everything was fine. That's the society we'd created for ourselves. A mirage of a 'better' society, almost a more civilised one.
I digress. I just want to say hi and let you know I will start fighting to stop the greed and corruption that is a poison from the core. I hope even more that you look at with me sympathy in a more idealistic future. One inextricably and unashamedly linked with nature. I just hope everyone is okay.
Today was the heatwave Harry.
See you there

Prime.
I vicariously live through Prime free-membership offers. I'm really good at cancelling the day before, I even set myself alarms.
Like Mr Hood of Sherwood, I take from the Rich and give to the poor (me)
I'm bringing down capitalism bit by bit, like an arrow from a bow on a detour
Thanks Jeff

The river Tame (means river in celtic) begins in northern saddleworth where I grew up. It then is joined by various streams through Greenfield where I mainly grew up, through Mossley where I experienced my early adult years working in a pub and through Ashton-under-Lyne where I worked and transgressed towards total adulthood. It then meanders furthermore towards the town and Borough of Stockport, not respectively. My new job is in Stockport centre, near the train station. It eventually joins the Mersey towards Liverpool. Which, as a United fan with a Beatles tattoo, comes with it's own issues.
This river flows
And meanders
As my life slows
And meanders

Unedited blog #2 - thoughts on Greed.
This is not entirely true. I've drafted similar blogs to what I will present here. This is mostly from memory and current thoughts so may not be as fact based as what I had in mind. I may update this in the near future.
Greed. The most accepted of the seven cardinal sins. The driving force behind evolution. Along with the ability to ask questions, one of the deriving factors for our eminence from caves, as a species. The neverending human need for more. More food, more sex, more pleasure. The driving force behind the advent of serious agricultural practises. We spent untold generations moulding our bodies into the perfect machines for hunting and gathering. Then we developed agriculture and fucked it off. Now we're left with bodies designed for long distant movement while we sit munching and supping most of our waking hours.
There is an interesting theory that suggests our development of a gene that allowed us to process alcohol way more effectively brought us down from the trees. The theory goes that because of this gene, we were able to gorge on fallen fruits that had started to ferment. Thus, giving us more need to be firmly planted on the ground. What followed was the rise of Homo Sapiens. A wholly intolerable species in my opinion. Working in the NHS will do that to you. I know I'm going to diverge here and my theory on greed won't be coherent blah blah blah but that is not the point of these blogs. I'm writing as I think (although with a bit of forethought, as mentioned at the start). Anyway, the NHS (or specifically NHS Primary Care through my own experience) is a perfect candidate for highlighting greed. Well in England anyway...in the North West...in Tameside. Maybe the point here is I'm not trying to generalise, but I am. People are greedy arseholes is my point. More, more, more and right this second. Pain killers are the usual culprit. Moan about having a bad back, get a sick note and a chronic addiction to opiates. A bloody poppy plant, that's all it is. You'd be amazed how willingly people get addicted and how unwillingly they get unaddicted. The answer? Greed.
I have about two half-fleshed theories here but for fear of writing a small book on the subject I will leave my thoughts here, for now. To be resumed the next time I get pissed off about greed. Apologies about the quality of everything you've just read.

"The Body: A Guide for Occupants" by Bill Bryson
"The British Medical Journal reported in early 2019 that cuts to health and social care budgets between 2010 and 2017 led to about 120,000 early deaths in the UK, a pretty shocking finding."
Just a reminder for the next general election. It is not a popularity contest. Stop killing people by voting Tory.
