I’m naturally drawn to stories about soul mates. I wanted to write a story that shifted away from the idea that soul mates were romantic connections between two people and toward something that is better reflected in the vast majority of relationships.

For #fallintoromance I’m revising my first novel with feedback from its first round of beta readers. My goal for the next six weeks is to finish the revisions so it can get a second beta read and reviewed by a sensitivity reader.

The Friday kiss prompt is caress and I am legitimately shocked that this is the only instance in this 63k-word wip. At least it’s SFW.

I was working on revisions and updating my story bible when I got the wild idea to put a 3yo novella in the same universe as my novel and now I have to figure out the character that’s going to connect the two books.

This WIP has been in the revisions stage for a little while now, but I set aside all my smaller projects to give this one the focus it deserves.

#AuthorAugust23 Day 6: What’s Your Writing Process?

Allow ADHD brain to wander until it comes up with some sort of movie-like fictional interaction.

Hyper focus on that fictional interaction, allowing it to consume my thoughts at all times.

Begin building the story around the fictional interaction

Write the scene if it keeps me from working on anything else

Start outlining my characters and basic plot

Lose interest in it for a while. Usually anywhere between 4 months to 3 years.

Get struck by inspiration and restart outlining characters and basic plot

Start writing if there are scenes that keep me from focusing on higher priority projects

GMC worksheets

Basic chapter outline

Hyper focus and write every spare second of the day neglecting all other responsibilities.

Burn out.

Repeat steps 10 - 12 until WIP is complete.
